I really enjoyed this one! It was a good page turner and kept me interested in the characters. Can you see where this is going? Yes. Has it been done before? Yes. Was it entertaining and well-written? Also yes, and sometimes that's just what you want out of a thriller. I loved Alice's character and even found myself rooting for Jenny to grow a backbone. I do wish we had gotten more resolution on William and Ruth, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Book Review✨

Psychological Suspense
4.5/5⭐️

•Tom & Alice set out to heal their marriage in their RV, after facing a tragedy. On their voyage they meet two young hitchhikers named Ocean and Blue. They see so much of themselves in these young, lost souls that they take them under their wing to try and guide them- only their names are Simon & Jenny and they are actually on the run from a violent crime. Now, Tom & Alice are trapped.

This was my most anticipated read of 2025 and it did not disappoint. The beginning of this story catches your attention right away. The atmosphere feels tangible and you truly have no idea what direction you could be going. The middle felt a little repetitive for me- as crazy as it was it just felt like nothing huge was happening…then bam. The last half of this story had me absolutely hooked. All of my favorite Chevy Stevens books have a twisted, “girl is you okay”, triggering type of BLOW YOUR MIND factor and this story had ALL that. Every mundane detail I was bored with in the beginning/middle came full circle and I was totally blown away. Chevy writes about some heavy TRIGGERING topics in her books and they’re never cliché, never dimmed down to make it easier on your stomach and always leave you with a hell of a book hangover. I will be thinking of this story for a very long time. This is the Chevy I know and love!

Chevy books I 🖤 with ratings:
Still Missing -5⭐️
Those Girls -5⭐️
The Hitchhikers -4.5⭐️
Never Let You Go -4⭐️
Dark Roads- 3⭐️

Well that was a ride of obsessive reading. Both feeling like I knew where it would end up and also wanting to yell at both FMC’s. (Omg both of them!).

It’s about a couple on an RV trip in western Canada where they come across a young couple who are clearly hiding something but somehow end up tagging along.

It’s a cat and mouse with a trail of bodies along the way; with the reader knowing exactly where it’s going to end up but you can’t stop it from going.

A few triggers needed (DM if you want them) for sensitivity readers but just know you won’t want to put it down.

Thank you to St. Martin 's Press, Chevy Stevens and Netgalley for giving me an E-ARC of "The Hitchhikers" in exchange for an honest review *

I adore Chevy Steven and her latest book "The Hitchhikers " doesn't dissapoint. Filled with the great characters and the twist and turns she is known for, Stevens outdoes herself in "The Hitchhikers". I was glue to my phone, racing through the pages. Any thriller fan should have this on their list.
