This was so much more than I ever expected. Rylee is just trying to find her sister, so she sneaks into the Choosing, never expecting to be considered as a real choice. But now she finds herself in a position where she needs to win over all four of the Legends, and hide deadly secrets along the way.

This was a spectacular show of strength and determination, and as she spends time with each of the princes, she finds that she's falling for them as much as they are for her. But will she be able to convince the last prince that she's worth it? Despite their initial spark, he seems to hate her now, and she's got her work cut out for her. But she quickly learns that the four princes are not what they seem.

No notes. 10 out of 5 stars. I loved every single moment. The world building is fantastic, the characters are perfection, and the story is excellent.

I can’t even say who my favorite character is because I love them all! I mean Why Choose, am I right?! Rylee is one lucky girl to get to be with all four princes. I love how different each prince is and that they all cared for and wanted to get to know Rylee and wanted her to get to know them and their cities. Each one brings some unique to the table and I know I would say yes to being their mate 😏

Listen, if you love why choose, hot/spicy men, a FMC who is a badass, and a story that pulls you in from page one, then you NEED to read this book.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Oo baby that was a spicy read. In fact, the spice by far outweighed the plot. This isn’t really a problem for me most of the time, but by the end of the book, I just wanted something plot related to happen when we were just getting spice.

Did I figure out the plot twist? Yes absolutely. Like 100 pages in. Do I think I know what the plot twist of the next book is? Definitely and you probably will too.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and I’m not going to lie, I’m slightly disappointed. I wanted a bit more of a build up to Ry’s relationship with each of the guys. We didn’t really get that. It was very insta-lust, which there’s nothing wrong with, but I was anticipating insta-lust with a little build up which we just didn’t get.

Also spoiler in only this paragraph: we were robbed of Jax!! There was all this buildup with him being the last guy and then our time with him is overshadowed by her time with all four guys. Their relationship felt a little rushed at the end, especially considering what we know of them near the beginning of the book.

Okay, so no more spoilers. I overall enjoyed this book and very likely will be reading the next after that cliffhanger, but I’m not on the edge of my seat dying to read the second book.

Thank you so much to Entangled Publishing (Red Tower Publishing) and Brittany Zimmerman for an ARC of this book ❤️

Thank you to Brittany at Entangled Publishing for the eARC via NetGalley!

I loved the dual PoV's of this book and I hope it continues into book 2. This was my first book by Jade and I can see why people enjoy her as her writing is easy to read and follow along with. I understand the reasoning for this but it did bother me a little that there was so much time jumping as it felt like we didn't get to connect to the 3 other princes as much as we did Kal. With that said, I do hope we get more world and character building in book 2 and maybe revisit cities so we can see why we should have fallen in love with them since they were left out so much to advance the plot of the book. I could see how this might not be possible since I'm not sure if this is a duology or trilogy series but I personally am hoping to see 3 books and it be spread out a bit more. Book 2 being the upcoming war that has been building all book 1 and book 3 being the world building I crave for these characters as they right wrongs from the years past.

I AM UNWELL.

I picked this up on the plane to Austria and literally have not been able to focus on my conference since I arrived (sorry, grad school). This entire book was literally so addictive and I could NOT put it down or stop thinking about it.

Rylee, our FMC, was so relatable and ~not that girl~ in the very best way. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a strong, sassy, capable FMC who can hold her ground in a battle. But Rylee was SO smart, kind, and soft. I really enjoyed seeing the world from her POV and seeing how her perspective shifted as the book progressed.

THE PRINCES!!!!! I will be obsessed with the Princes of Chaos until I die. I've been thinking about who might be my favorite and I literally cannot decide. I think I'm leaning towards my sweet baby Pierce, but ugh, they're all SO GOOD. I want to be a Jax girlie so bad but I know that he would hurt my feelings and I'm not sure I have as much mental and emotional strength as Rylee.

Thank you Jade and Entangled for the eARC. Love you lots, mean it! <3

4.5/5 (rounding up!)

I'd like to say a huge thank you to Entangled Publishing and Red Tower for an eARC of this book.

I *devoured* this one, y'all!

I think this is my first why-choose romance! The world building in this one is easy enough to understand (which is a nice change of pace in a romantasy book), the love stories are believable, and I was left wanting to know what happens next. This book was fast-paced, but not to the point where the reader is going "what is happening right now?!," it was paced perfectly for this story and sets up a book 2 wonderfully. I do have to say that this one was spicy, so if you're not into that then why are you reading a why-choose? In all seriousness though, this one is a ton of fun and I can't wait to know how their story continues.

4.5⭐️

So I devoured this book and ca not wait until the sequel comes out. Heck this book isn’t even out so it’s going to be a long wait lol. So why did I round down? To be frank, I may indeed change my GR rating but for now it’s where I am at.

I love the story. I love the magic system. However, it is a bit thin. It could have easily had a hundred more pages to flesh out all of the pieces other than the spice as that was very detailed (although repetitive and a bit vanilla) and fully explored. I would have loved to see more about the work itself and the magic system, along with a bit more behind why Rylee connected with each of the Legends of Chaos besides “because that’s what fates mates do” trope.

With the exception of the last page which left on a huge cliffhanger, the “danger” type scenes were very rushed in my opinion. They were also predictable but that didn’t bother me. Just don’t be surprised that there aren’t any “oh my goddess” moments that take you by surprise.

That being said, it was a page turning ride that I would take over and over again. I love that a why choose romance is being treated as a regular romance trope and accessible to the masses. If you’re a reader than doesn’t like spice, than this is NOT the story for you at all as it is throughout and not something you can simply skip. But as I said above, while intense for the players involved the actions are pretty basic, vanilla spice and doesn’t even come near the line of crossing over into atypical or kink smut.

I am so thankful to Entangled Publishing for the early access to this title which enabled me to give an early review of it. This title comes out on April 8th 2025 in a beautiful deluxe edition. Go preorder you’re now as I know I have despite already having eARC at my disposal. This is definitely a book I want on my physical shelf!

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars

⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

WOW! I was not expecting to like The Never List as much as I did. Alas, it did not disappoint at all. I’m a huge fan of why choose and I loved every second of it. I really enjoyed how the book both focused on the romance aspect, but also the plot of the book between Rylee and the Legends finding out who she truly is, but also the Legends getting to know Rylee and fall for her. Every Legends personality and power is unique to themselves and I absolutely love that because I loved each individual differently. However, that being said, I am still a 100% Jax girly 😂🥰 I truly can’t wait for book 2 after that cliff hanger. I will be waiting.

Features:
-fated mates
-why choose
-rebellion group
-goddess/kings

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing!

As someone firmly in their romantasy era, The Never List hit just right for me. Sure it was predictable and there were a lot of tropes found in many popular romantasy books. However, this felt like a comfort read to get sucked into — a spicy comfort read — but a comfort read nonetheless. There are political stakes, magic powers, and a rebellion forming. Now take those aspects and add in 4 distinctly different, yet equally captivating MMCs, and you’re in for a treat. I find why choose books fascinating in exploring the dynamic between all the partners and how they fit together. I will say much of this book focuses on the relationships between Rylee and the Legends of Chaos and is more character focused in terms of the plot. I do love how complex and well developed each of their characters are. I also appreciated the world building to make each of the Legends’ territories unique. I do wish a little bit more time had been focused on the Faders to flesh that out a bit more, but I’m sure that will come in the next book which is why I’m not upset by it. Overall, I had a great time with this and was easily sucked into the story. I plan to continue with the series.

The Never List is a guilty pleasure. While the focus was on the romance and the reverse harem, it still had a story that made me keep turning the pages. I enjoyed how different the Legends of Chaos all were. There really was a prince for everyone (or for every mood). Just when I thought I found the prince I loved the most, in would swoop another one to prove me wrong. There is plenty of spice on the page in The Never List, so if spice isn’t your thing, this might not be for you. The Never List ends in a way that had me screaming and desperately searching for when Book 2 comes out, but the wait will most definitely be worth it. Or should I say, The Legends of Chaos (the Dreamer, the Player, the Mind, and the Nightmare) are worth the wait…

I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it. This was one of my most anticipated and tryst me it did not disappoint

When I received the eARC for The Never List I knew it would be good (haven't met a Red Tower book I didn't like), I just didn't know how much of a chokehold it would have on me. I only finished it a few moments ago and already I am needing the next book. Yes, it ends on an impossible cliffhanger, which means that I will be theorizing all the directions this story might go in book two.
Rylee, a demi and girl from the wrong land, sneaks into "the Choosing" at the royal palace in order to try to find some information about her sister's (whose been gone for a year) whereabouts. She's trying to blend in and not be chosen by the Princes of Lumathyst as the Choosing is a chance for them to find their possible mate. Little does she know that the one person she connects with that night is the main prince responsible for choosing the next potential mate. She's heard stories of the Legends and how dangerous these men can be and wants nothing to do with them. But Jax has other plans.
Rylee is such a strong female throughout and does what is necessary to help herself and search for her sister, leaning into the tradition of the potential spending a month with each of the princes in their home cities and getting to know each of them more intimately. As she does so, she finds that reputations and what you hear about people are often not the whole story and begins to wonder if the princes could really come to love her and who she is even after learning what she's been hiding from them the entire time.
Rylee, Kal, Axl, Pierce and Jax are fire together! The wit, banter, swoony moments and heat pulsate throughout the book and had me wanting more and more, tempting me to forget the outside world and just get lost in Lumathyst until I finished. I am now sweating what is sure to be an action packed book two in the series and wondering how I am going to pass the time while I wait.

eARC review:

I absolutely loved this book! Prior to reading this I was in a book slump and couldn’t find a book they truly grabbed me. Well, this one had me intrigued from the beginning! I loved the characters, they seemed to be well developed and the men were all distinctly different. I enjoyed the pacing of the book and read it in just over a day. Each time I thought that I had the book figured out…I didn’t. My only complaint is that the book isn’t 1,000 pages long because waiting for book 2 is pure torture!

I loved this book! I was hooked from the start. There were moments that had me giggling, swooning, wanting to hit someone, and biting my nails. All the feels. Just when I thought I knew what would happen, things changed and kept me guessing. I can’t wait to read more of Rylee and Kal, Axl, Pierce, and especially Jax!

5am. That's what time I finished this DELICIOUS story. It was worth every sleepless hour. I cannot wait to see everyone devour this book when it hits the shelves. These four men will have you begging for more.

If you are searching for that same high that The Bonds That Tie series gave, then look no further. This is it!! @jadepresleyauthor, thank you for giving us a schmexy why choose (and by the by, Jax was totally worth staying up late for..I knew he would be 😉)

I'm already feeling the book hangover from this one, but I'm so excited for book two!

A BIG thank you to @redtowerbooks & @entangled_publishing for allowing me to have an ARC of this gem.

I really enjoyed this one alot, i think it’s probably my favorite book my this publisher. What can i say i love a why choose especially one in a fantast setting where polyamory is accepted! We have the fmc who is from a poorer background and not part of the wealthy rulling class. She gets herself into an arrangement when she is chosen by the 3 mmcs who to become thier mate, choose them and go through the trial. I loved seeing the main characters get to know each other and the relationship development. This book is steamy and more focused on the characters than the plot. There were plot points at the beginning that were not addressed later on but im sure it will be delt with in the next book. I liked how different the mmcs how expecially in how they interacted with the fmc. Overall a fun and steamy why choose romance. The worldbuilding is simple and not alot but i liked the characters and world.

Do you ever start a book that you just can't put down, but also never want to end? That's what The Never List was for me.

After being chosen by The Lords of Chaos at an event Rylee shouldn't have even been at, she must don a mask and make four princes fall for her or else risk her secrets being exposed. The Never List is a why choose romance that is equal parts story and spice. Perfect for anyone looking for a steamy romance with characters who have unique powers, secrets, and of course there has to be an unknown evil villain thrown in the mix.

Thank you Entangled Publishing for blessing me with an early copy of this book, the wait for book two is already killing me.

Excuse me while I go order another book by Jade Presley because I'm hooked.

Thank you so much to the Entangled team for the opportunity to read this early! I really, really enjoyed The Never List.
This was such a fun story filled with really interesting characters and a unique setting that felt well thought out. Rylee, our main female character, was a fabulous lead. I really appreciated that her relationships with each of the Legends was uniquely theirs, but at the same time they all made sense together. I love the way the story and trials were structured. It would have felt really overwhelming to the story if suddenly Rylee was with all four Legends of Chaos for most of the book, but the way the trial period was set up so that Rylee (and readers!) had a chance to get to know each of the Legends individually, with the rest popping in and out felt like a great way to get to know each personality on their own. It was also a great way for us to get to know their world. Jax, Pierce, Axl, and Kal all felt like their own people with very distinct personalities. I loved how they all interacted together but still maintained that individuality. I have so many questions with the way it ended and I am really, really excited to see where this story will go. This was a really strong start to a series!
My rating would be 4.5 but rounded up!

Thank you to Red Tower Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

WHAT WAS THAT ENDING!? OMG. I haven't read a book that captivated me that deeply in a while. I absolutely struggled to put it down - and this is when I am grateful I have the Kindle app on my phone because every single spare second I had, I was reading this book. I am not a spicy girly in general - there is a time and a place, and I'm sometimes okay with it but it really needs to be secondary to the plot. Considering this book is listed as a Why Choose Romantasy, I still really think that the spice was secondary to the plot, which I loved. I feel like there are many books that try to have this type of vibe and don't get there, so it was really refreshing to be so addicted to reading something I don't normally go for.

The pros of this book for me: Each character was incredibly distinct from the others. There is an extensive world and worldbuilding without feeling like that is all that is happening. There was a plot that pushed me to continue reading because I needed to know what happened. The polyamorous elements were done very tastefully imo. IT HAS MULTIPLE POV but not in a way that is jarring!

The cons: I am nitpicky and all of the things I am upset about are incredibly minor to the plot, but still something I want to note. I am tired of things being considered fantasy because they have y's and x's in the names. The heroine is blond, thin, and beautiful - which fine, but it would be nice to see something different, though the heros did seem to be a bit more diverse which is nice. The book is long and yet certain parts felt like they could have been detailed out more. Does this mean that maybe it could have been 2 books (maybe book one is the Choosing and prince 1 & 2, book 2 is prince 3 & 4 and the everything that happened after) and then the cliffhanger for book 3? Sure, but it isn't the worst thing. I don't feel I was missing anything too much, but it is always nice to feel like things aren't rushed in a 500+ page book.

Overall, I cannot wait to read the second book and everyone should read this yesterday. 10/10

Thank you Entangled Publishing for sharing an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was pure spice and anxiety - dear god. I adore the Legends and the story was so intense and stressful, and yet I had an amazing time. Just when I thought I predicted something, turns out I was wrong. Definitely a great read.
