Jade Presley created the perfect fantasy plot for a why choose with the four princes, each striking in their own unique way, needing to find their one fated mate in order to come into full power and save their kingdom. Enter the unsuspecting Rylee Gray who has a mission of her own but gets caught in the midst of all the chaos. And with that, we get rewarded with a fast paced, sizzling, and twisty tale that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat in more ways than one! Who will be your fave Legend of Chaos….why choose indeed? 💜🔥

Special thanks to Entangled Publishing and Red Tower Books for the eARC!

This is the first book of a new why choose fantasy romance series where the FMC, Ryle, goes undercover in a mate choosing ceremony with four princes in order to try and find her missing sister. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Thank you to the author, Entangled Publishing and Red Tower books for my eArc.

Tropes and themes include:
✨Why choose (mfmmm)
✨Touch her and die
✨Hidden identity
✨“Good girl”
✨Rebels
✨Demi gods
✨Caste system

Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Nicknames: Little Liar, Butterfly, Darling, Kitten

The Lovely: I loved the story line and how the FMC’s secret unfurled over time. There was this constant tension of the princes find out her secrets and then taking drastic action, which kept me intrigued and hungry for more of the story all the way through. I also appreciated how different each of the princes were (from each other).

The Mundane: I wish we could have seen more interactions between the FMC and the princes in each of their cities. For me I think this would have helped to show and feel the development of their relationships on an emotional level. I felt like that was missing, especially in light of how the princes acted towards the end.

Recommendation: As someone who has read other books by this author, this book was one of my most anticipated new releases of the year. And after that cliffhanger of an ending, I’m just not sure how I’m going to be able to wait for book two!. If you like why choose romantasy with an intriguing plot and plenty of spice, I think you would like this book.

That was a journey.

I'm not a why choose person naturally. I try to give it a chance from time to time and this time it paid off.

Is it spice heavy? Sure. It's 4 dudes. I was never bored though. The pacing was constant. The characters seemed to have a pretty good distinction in personality and actions, and by the end of the story the plot was really starting to develop. I'm not sure how many books are planned in this series but I'm all in.

Thank you so much to Jade, Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this title. I attest that I am leaving my review voluntarily and honestly.

IF YOU LOVE ROMANTASY- GET. THIS. BOOK.

I ate this book up in three days and that's because I MADE myself go slowly so I could savor it because it does in fact end on a cliffie. However, I forgive Jade and RedTower because this book was amazing and stayed with me long after I finished. It's now been a week and I still think about this book.

If you love romance, fantasy, magic, why choose, princes, goddesses, and hidden identity this book will FEED you.

I have read several why choose romantasy books and this one is great if you're dipping a toe and wanting to try out the genre. There's individual relationship development, which I thought was really well done and pulled at my heart strings. As for spice, there's a fair amount and two group scenes. Again, well done and well placed. Perfect for why choose newbies and vets.

This book was amazing. I cannot wait for the next one!

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⚡️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🫑
Dang this is 🥵
This is a Why Choose romance, but she spends most of the time with each of the princes individually (there is only 1 scene with all of them).
The plot of rebellion plays a large part in the storyline.

I love each of the princes.
❤️💙💚🖤
I felt like the time with Jax was a little rushed as well as the ending.

The “plot twist” might have been a little obvious, but this still ends on a major cliffhanger.

I cannot wait for the sequel.
❤️💙💚🖤
The First Printing Deluxe edition comes with sprayed edges, endpaper art, and stamped hardcover

I absolutely ADORED this book! My only complaint is that I wished it was longer! I'm eager to see more of this world and of these characters! Rylee is such a mood for the whole story and omg, I NEED to know what she does next!! Each of these four princes brings something special to the story (and something spicyyyy ifykyk 👀) and I love them all!! I can't wait for this series to continue.

It's been awhile since I've read a why choose book and this one did not disappoint. Four hot and dangerous princes with powers? Yes please!
The book was very easy to read with no complex world building and jumped right into the action from the beginning. I really appreciated the simplicity which allowed me to get right into the story. There was an element of predictably which was perfect for a comfort read and let my mind escape.
I enjoyed getting to know Kal, Axl, Jax and Pierce. Each Prince had a different personality and they each had a different nickname they called Rylee which matched them perfectly. While getting to know our amazing Princes, we were also trying to figure out the motivations of the Kings.
As expected, this book had more spice than you could shake a stick at. But in between all of that, you found 5 people who were just looking to belong and loved for who they truly are. They wanted to throw their masks off, be genuine and be accepted.
The ending has a huge cliffhanger that I didn't see coming and I cannot wait for the next book!

4 magical princes, one being called the Nightmare… can you guess which one was my instant favorite? 🖤 I was Team Jax from before I even knew his name. This story is pretty fast paced and jam packed with action (and spice). Story rides the line of spice with little plot so fair warning before you begin. I ate this book up though 😂

That ending though, that was cruel. I need book 2 right now!

The Never List by Jade Presley caught my eye with its stunning cover and kept me reading with a fast paced and fun narrative style.
What I Loved
1. The combination of the fated mates trope with a why choose set up is incredibly unique.
2.The pacing was a delight
3. That cliff hanger is a master piece.

What didn't work as well for me
1. I almost wanted a mini novella to flesh each prince out a bit more than such a large cast of main characters allows time for in a single book.
2. Early on Dialogue feels oddly stilted. (this may be a stylistic choice)

Who I would Recommend this Book for

Fans of why choose romantasy looking for a story on the spicier side are in for a good time With the Never List.

Something new for me but I absolutely devoured this book because of the romance! Each main character felt like they had their own personality (were not just romantic leads for Rylee). Looking forward to book 2 after the cliffhanger ending and would love to explore more of the fantastical world and magic.

Rylee who is from a lower class - grew up hiding her powers. When her sister goes missing, Rylee and friends plot a way into the Choosing to get more answers about her disappearance. Unexpectedly she finds herself the object of desire - chosen as a potential mate for the four ruthless Legends. In a turn of events, she finds that everything she’s known is not as it seems. 👀

I devoured this book and I immediately need more. I had such a fun time with The Never List. It’s incredibly fast paced, spicy, and juicy. I feel like typically you see why choose as in the MC gets all of them - one a a time. NOT THE NEVER LIST - you get all of them one at a time and all at the same time. It’s fantastic.

The lore behind why the Legends needs a mate is so interesting! I genuinely cannot wait to learn more about each Prince.

The never list

The Never List by Jade Presley is the first book in her Never List series and follows the story Rylee and her Legends of Chaos.

This is a steamy, why-choose fantasy romance set in the kingdom of Lumathyst - which is on the verge of chaos and collapse. In The Never List, we see Rylee spend time individually and together with each of the Legends, receiving their favour and being the strong, female lead she is. She proves time and again she will fight for the people - all while trying to keep her secrets hidden. Overall, I loved this one so much. It was the perfect Romantasy read for those looking for some steamy why-choose action, with an intriguing storyline that will hook you in from the very first page.

“You should fly away, butterfly.”
“Only if you promise to chase me”

Legends of Chaos:
The Dreamer
The Mind
The Player
The Nightmare

What to expect:
Why choose
Romantasy
Fated mates
Hidden/secret identity
Forced proximity
Touch her and die
Who hurt you
Ends on a cliffhanger

I greatly enjoyed this book. This was a spicy why choose romantasy involving Rylee, our main character, an orphan from the Ashlands and the 4 princes of Lumathyst. As she learns what it means to be a potential for the Legends of Chaos, she must navigate the fine lines between keeping her secrets and giving her all to those she seems destined to be with. Each of the princes is unique and quirky and I loved seeing their individual cities and traits.

The book felt cozy and easy to read. I read it very quickly and felt the story flowed well despite different povs. I highly recommend this to those who like spicy romantasy books, why choose, magic systems and or fated mates. Special thanks for the opportunity to read this book!

I'm not the biggest why choose fan but when Entangled did a few ARC giveaways I knew I was going to try to get this one because I love anything that is remotely new to me and a why choose fantasy is that entirely. I went in with very little expectations, and honestly fell in love with with the book within a few chapters and couldn't put it down so I ended up staying up till 1am reading from start to finish!

I loved Rylee and just how fun she was, her ability to take in any situation and just have fun and take it as it is even if she is afraid or unsure, adding in the four legends, Jax, Kal, Pierce, and Axl and their own personalities and worlds, and i was hooked from the moment Rylee and Jax met and he choose her.

Kal is the humor and fun of the group and was the perfect choice for Rylee to begin her tour of their hometown, to make her more comfortable with everything, and when he took her to Axl, they also made sure she was comfortable with sharing in a lot of ways. Pierce and Jax are the brooding ones, with Jax taking the cake due to his powers and I loved his scenes with Rylee and the other legends.

I really loved this book from start to finish, I couldn't put it down and I cannot wait to continue this series because I have a feeling I'm going to love the whole thing!

“Where did you come from, Rylee Gray?”

It’s no secret I am a why choose lover! when I heard about The Never List coming out I absolutely jumped at the opportunity 🥹

First: Thank you to Red Tower and Entangled for sending me this ARC copy!

And second: drop everything you are doing and read this book!! This why choose romantasy was exactly what I needed and wanted it to be.

Rylee absolutely blew me away and was the perfect FMC. Strong, independent and feisty: the most perfect combination. She’s not afraid to tell it how it is, no matter how intimidating the man 😏

Kal, Axl, Pierce, and Jax - I simply will not choose between them!! I fell in love with every. single. one. of. them. Living up to each of their nicknames was my favorite thing to see. (seriously the coolest nicknames too 👀)

I loved the complex world building and how we got to meet each MMC, independently, as we progressed. I loved learning along with Rylee and her inner thoughts was such a fun and wild rides. Rylee is fearless, compassionate, and smart and so well written.

I am so so eagerly (and not so patiently) awaiting the release of the next book 🥹 I want more!! I cannot wait for my physical copy to arrive!

My favorite quotes:

“Is that what does it for you, stranger? Making women like me scream?” “Depends on the type of scream,” he says.

“Touch her like that one more time, and you’ll lose more than that arm,”

“In my hands?” he asks. “You’re always safe.”

“I could take you anywhere in the universe without either of us moving an inch, and there would be nothing you could do to stop me.”

I absolutely devoured this book. It was spicy, sweet, and page turning. This was my first book by Jade Presley and it is far from my last. Jade Presley delivered an incredible universe with divine characters, that I cannot wait to see again.

Blurb:
The four princes of Lumathyst need a mate, and everyone wants a chance...except for her.

Threatened by invaders, the kingdom of Lumathyst is on the verge of chaos, and no one can stop it. Unless the four immortal god-princes find their fated mate-and safeguard the throne-Lumathyst will fall.

Five women have tried. Five have failed. And tonight in the royal city, the princes need to find their Chosen and hope she can survive the transformation that will make her immortal.

Only Rylee Gray wasn't supposed to be here. She snuck in for her own dark reasons—and now they claim they've found their perfect match. Her. Of course, they have no idea she's concealing a secret big enough to damn them all.

The four princes have no choice. They'll use every delectably wicked skill they have to make Rylee fall for all of them...or watch their kingdom collapse.

The Never List is an interesting and new way of seeing the fated mates trope to bring in a why choose in a more traditionally published way. Rylee is a wonderful character that is inspired to try and make the world better and realizes that the world isn't exactly what she thinks it is and is challenged by the four possible mates. I adore Jax and Kal, they're my two favorites, and I am excited to get my physical copy of this book. If you like secret identities, trying to subvert corrupt systems, spicy relationships on page, powerful FMCs and MMCs, and the intrigue of trying to figure out what is REALLY going on behind the scenes, I think that you'll enjoy The Never List. I'm getting my physical copy tomorrow and will be reading through it again.

Living a humble life in hiding for fear of persecution, Rylee enters The Choosing with only one mission. It has been one year since she has seen her sister, and she's determined to find her. Fate, however, has different plans. Can she handle the Legends of Chaos whose reputations precede them? Or have they finally met their match?

The Never List doesn't have extensive world building, but I felt as though I could imagine each city, kingdom, event, and even the statues. Scenery was woven through the story as if you're actually seeing everything for the first time through Rylee's eyes. Being a character-driven story, Presley has written from all characters' perspectives, but primarily Rylee's. I felt Rylee's actions were a bit "scrappier" than the average person. She's quick-witted, passionate, and looking to preserve the wellbeing of herself and those she loves. She has two amazing best friends who I hope we see more of in the rest of the story, and their time together feels like a friend circle you would want to be a part of.

I would have liked to have had more closure to some of the smaller conflicts in the story. It felt like some of the conflicts, or characters, seemed as if they would hold a large part of the book, but they fell off rather quickly. These characters or conflicts have the opportunity to come back in a future book, so I won't lose hope! But I would have liked to have seen them wrapped up a little more in this one.

I am thrilled to have read this, and I will definitely be recommending it. I cannot wait to read more about our characters and what happens with Lumathyst. Thank you so much to Red Tower and Entangled Publishing for the ARC and this opportunity.

The Never List by Jade Presley is the perfect read for fans of why choose romance, particularly of the fantasy genre.

Each of the male leads are unique and appealing in their own way, making it a relief not to have to choose between them. I loved each of them for their own reasons, and quite honestly never felt like I was more tired of one over another. I was so happy to get each of their points of views told as well as Rylee’s, because it was nice to have insight into each of their thoughts as well, particularly in getting that firsthand experience of what they really thought of Rylee.

I also really liked Rylee as a main female character. She is fierce and caring, she challenges each of the four princes and manages to keep up with all of them. All their relationships manage to be spicy, and yet so sweet at the same time which ensured I was smitten immediately. Seeing how the princes have never been chosen for themselves, and how much this has messed with their perception of the women of the Choosing, and just relationships in general was a little bit heartbreaking. They are seen as these insidious, terrifying people when they just want to protect their people, and are constantly used, which means they don’t trust Rylee and her intentions, which makes for some sweet moments.

The world had me really hooked in as well. Not only the idea of the Choosing, but also the division of each of the Princes Cities, the powers that some people have, and the Goddesses essentially responsible for all of it. I was very intrigued and excited to learn more of it as I read, and I hope that other books go into even more depth to get a better idea of the world, as I felt it was really only touched on here.

At times the book almost felt rushed, with Rylee’s time with each of the princes in their cities passing much quicker than I expected. I feel like this could have been expanded on a bit to give more insight into each prince, their city itself, and their respective relationships with Rylee without it feeling dragged out. As it stands it felt like each prince got about a day and a spicy scene before their time was up, and I just would have liked this expanded on to learn more about them. However, it still managed to be a fantastic read and I loved it all the same.

With the way The Never List ended on a big cliffhanger I am very much eager for the next book because I need answers. I will definitely be continuing on with this series as I enjoyed the first book a lot, and already cannot get enough of the four princes and Rylee.
