The story was beautifully written and the characters were flushed out really well! The narrator did an amazing job engaging with the story! Definitely worth the read!

This is an engaging, well-written book, but it’s unfortunately not for me. It’s described as a delightful romantic comedy—but the first chapter opens with the heroine having to fire an ex-con employee for drunkenness and theft. He then goes on to destroy her property and make threats. I wasn’t expecting violence and the woman-in-jeopardy trope in a rom com—nor would I describe this book as a rom com. DNF in chapter 5. The audiobook narration is well done.

A sweet friends to lovers romance set in a small town. I enjoyed the characters both the main and the side ones. This was just a cute story. I got the warm and fuzzies while reading it. Narrator was wonderful!

This was such a cute small town romance with a little bit of spice. I loved the slow burn friends-to-lovers trope and really enjoyed the overall plot of this book. The narrator did a great job at bringing this story to life and I look forward to listening to more books narrated by her. Definitely recommending this to romance fans.

I wished I liked this book more than what I did. The story although cute, had a romance that was hard to root for. The main characters constant fights and miscommunication made it harder for me to believe that their romance would last more than a year after the book ended.

The narration was great though, and the writing was not bad. It's just not memorable enough for me.

Prepare yourself for this adorably precious love story! It brings out all the winter blues, and just sets your heart in the most sweet place. Absolutely adored it!

I enjoyed the audio and the narrator and I feel like it flowed smoothly. I would say 4 stars for the audio portion of the book.

I also read this book as an ARC too and I had given it 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ but I have bumped it up since listening to it because I enjoyed it more listening.

A great spring read. Miley is a strong leader in her community. The love of her life left many years ago and now he's back to tie up loose ends. Is she one of them?

It was a wonderful book. You couldn't help but want them to get together. I think the little bit of spice could have been left out. I would definitely recommend this book to my patrons.

This book was an absolute delight to listen to, and the writing wrung so many emotions out me. Loved the characters, wistful and pragmatic Miley, steadfast Jody as her best friend, Granny. Granny needs no further description. (Having everyone in town call her Granny is telling enough!) and sweet Ben who can’t get out of his own way. Loved the small town dynamics and how Ben and Miley found their way to each other T past and for good.

Such a fun, sweet spring read. Mylie and Ben have been friends since childhood and both have always cared for and crushed on each other. But before they ever take the next step from friendship to more, college comes up and life moves on. Years later, Mylie is a business owner who unfortunately hired a major town bad guy who aims to make her life miserable after she let's him go. Thankfully, her old friend and soon, knight in shining armor,Ben, returns to town to take care of somer personal business. Will they become more than friends? This is a comical romance with Mylie's outspoken grandma and a the fun life of living in a small town. There's also some major spicy romance scenes that I did skip over a bit to get back to the story. Overall a fun read though.

Great romance. Enjoyed the story from cover to cover. Loved the small town vibes. Excitement throughout and I am a sucker for a sweet dog. A great read for romance lovers.

This was a charming small town, friends to lovers second chance romance between Mylie, the owner of a tackle shop and Ben, who has returned to town only to sell his grandmother's house. Ben had a crush on Mylie in high school but missed out on the chance to do anything about it. The more time they spend together, the more things heat up but Ben is torn between a new job teaching elsewhere and staying where his heart (and Mylie) are.

I liked that Mylie was a guardian for her younger sister and that there were flashbacks to Ben and Mylie's time in high school interspersed throughout the story. It was good on audio narrated by Amanda Stribling and perfect for fans of books like Catch and keep by Erin Hahn. Mylie runs a bait and tackle shop, and lives with her grandma and sister. Everything is going great and then her high school best friend who she had a crush on comes back to town to sell his childhood home. Setting was fun and then there is Fat Tony (if you read it that will make more sense!) 😂😂

This is a cute lighthearted romance. It moved too slow for me though. I struggled to connect to the characters as well. I loved the small town setting and supporting characters.

Mylie and Ben have been best friends since the sixth grade. After graduating high school Ben goes back to Chicago for college, leaving Mylie behind along whith her true feeling for him. Ten years later Ben is back in Clay Creek after promised his dying mother that he would come back before he sold his grandfather's house. Ben and Mylie pick up where they left things before Ben left. While they both know this is going to be a short reunion they try to make things work. This is a cute and funny book ranging from Granny, Mylie's spunky grandmother, to Fat Tony the neighborhood raccoon that even wears a dog collar, to all of the busy bodies that reside in Clay Creek. I would like to thank both NetGalley and HarperAudio for letting me listen to an advance copy of this audio book.

This book was sweet and as someone from a small town in the South, I appreciated the Southern charm. However, I found the plot to be super boring, which is sad because the narrator is one of my good friends and I think she did a fantastic job. As someone who also got my Ph.D. and fashions myself more of a city gal, I had huge issues with the ending.
