This was a cute 2nd chance romance. I loved the flip between Mylie & Ben's high school years and present day. The small town, fishing, little sister and grandma really added charm. Narrator did a great job.

I received this as an arc in audiobook format and it was really cute! I thought it was a light, cute, summer time vibe romance that had pleasant characters and a nice storyline. “Spring Fling” is a book that makes you appreciate small town vibes for sure, focusing on the humor of small town drama and the power of elders, and with elements of small town drama. There wasn’t anything that stood out to me as unforgettable, but I love that female main character Mylie was confident in who she was, and even though she learned a lesson in flexibility, she never had to part with her love for her small home town. The audiobook was really well done and I liked Mylie’s voice actor a lot!

I love second chance and small town romance, however this felt very flat. The Mylie and Ben never really felt like they had any chemistry. Two people that should have been in love with the other since they were kids and it barely felt like they were friends.
The narrator did a great job, but she does remind me on Southern Fried True Crime host, so I kept waiting for this to turn into a thriller or mystery.
Unfortunately, I will forget everything about this book about 2 days.

A feel good, small town romance. Wasn’t amazing but wasn’t bad either, an easy and cozy read. The pacing was good but the switching of perspectives was odd and not consistent throughout the book.

Thank you so much to Harper Audio for the ALC of Spring Fling!
This was an adorable friends to lovers romcom set in a small Arkansas town. There's a sassy, moonshine-drinking grandma, a sweet little sister and a loyal best friend. The FMC has her own business and she's just living life helping her grandma raise her little sister. And then an old friend comes back to town and there's a shift. There was just the right amount of tension. It was slow burn, but the timing was perfect. We're never quite sure how and if Miley and Ben's lives will be able to intertwine to make a relationship work. And then there's the disgruntled employee Miley had to fire and he's not making anything easy. The narrator was great! She gave a distinct voice and personality to all of the characters. I really enjoyed this one!

Spring Fling was a cute story about Mylie and Ben, childhood friends who unexpectedly have the chance to get reacquainted with each other in adulthood. Typically the friends-to-lovers and will-they-won't-they tropes aren't my favorite, but I found this story to be very satisfying. I really enjoyed getting to know all the townspeople, their personalities and their roles within the community. I also loved that Mylie was a strong businesswoman who was successful on her own, didn't need someone to sweep her off her feet, and spoke her mind.

This book was a cute small-town romance, but it is not one that will stick with me. I liked the main character, Mylie. She a strong female character that knows how to handle her business and take care of the people around her. Unfortunately, the romance between her and Ben was just not there for me. As high school best friends, the book depended a lot on that past relationship even though we didn't get to see very much of it. After ten years of not seeing each other and hardly talking, their relationship seemed purely physical, and even that didn't have much chemistry. Though I liked how the author ended the book, Mylie and Ben's relationship didn't seem like one that would last.
I really enjoyed Mylie's relationship with her sister, Cassie, and I liked the touch of drama thrown into the story. Mylie and Ben both had great backstories, though we didn't get to see the effects of those backstories on the characters as much as I would have liked. Both MCs could have been fleshed out more.
The narration was good, though the book is dual POV but only one narrator. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but dual narrators seems to be the norm for the genre these days, so it just threw me off a bit at first.
Overall, it was cute but forgettable.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Audio for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.
Overall the story was a cute small town romance that was giving hallmark with a little more spice! I enjoyed the plot points and all the side characters. There were some funny chaotic moments and granny had me laughing out loud. I listened to the whole book in one day’s time.
Tropes:
• Second Chance
• Friends to lovers
• Slow Burn
• Small town
Audiobook- The accents were on point. I personally prefer duet style but this was good for one narrator doing both male and female characters.

This book was not for me. I feel like we were missing so much background information and were just supposed to trust that they had this young love that was different and meant to be.
I did not like MMC, he was a cocky and too good for small town life. He literally comments to a girl he knew in high school that he assumed she’d go on to do more with her life then “just” be a waitress, without knowing anything about her or her life.
The FMC was better, taking on a maternal role for her younger sister and being involved with the local community, but I did not sense any chemistry between them.
I also felt like it was too rushed, there was little animosity between them, even though it was set up like there would be, but they just jump right back in like nothing had changed in the last 10 years.

This was satisfyingly as advertised. Mylie knows where she belongs and kept her heart protected for as long as possible. Ben had to go away to understand what it was he was chasing (and losing). The small town setting worked for me. The fishing competition was a fun way to bring all the conflict to a head and the supporting characters served their purpose. Granny was my favorite character, adding both legit and humor in equal parts as sage advice and counsel. The touch of spice worked well and I enjoyed it.

Spring Fling is a small town romance following Miley and Ben, childhood best friends after his return to the town 10 years later to clear out his late grandfathers home to prepare to sell it. Despite the time that's passed between them, Miley and Ben quickly resume their friendship and take the opportunity to explore their relationship the way they wished they had ten years prior.
Their romance didn't have the time to develop the way it could have which left me wanting more out of it. It was cute and quick but it could have had more meat to make it so much better! I think the side characters and subplots overshadowed the romance not that I didn't ADORE Miley's Grandma. In fact, I might have been more into the relationship between Miley's Grandma and Moose but none the less the book was really about Miley and Ben. Again, it wasn't a bad read and made for a great little romantic audio.

This was such a sweet book! The history and chemistry between the MC's really draws you in. I found myself waiting on the edge of my seat for them to finally catch up to what I knew was inevitable. I would definitely recommend this sweet romance to anyone who loves a good small town love story.
I listened to the audiobook version of it and the narrator did a fantastic job differentiating the characters. I typically prefer to listen to graphic novels, or duet style books, as my brain fails to keep up with singular narrators- but this one was amazing! I had no issues keeping up with the characters.
I received an ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I'm grateful for it. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

High school romance to new romance after a decade or so. This was a very boring read. I wasn't invested in this book at all. There was nothing that made me keep reading. It was an easy read but a very mediocre book.

I absolutely loved the accents from the narrator on this book. It really set the scene for where we were in the Ozark's and kept me there. So many books could take place anywhere, but this book was so firmly set in Arkansas, I could feel the spring heat. Ben coming back and throwing a corkscrew into Mylie’s set life is everything I enjoy in a second chance romance. I also enjoyed the flashback chapters to show how they were in middle and high school as they were getting to know each other and best friends. That being said, I didn’t connect with their current romance. It was missing a little something for me in the middle from their reconnecting to getting together. Mylie dropping everything over and over again for her sister got old as well. Her sister is 14, not 4. She can handle herself in most situations, except the last. My favorite character: Fat Tony, LOL

Thank you to Netgalley & Harper Audio for approving this audiobook. I thought the narrator did a good job portraying both the FMC & MMC. She was able to keep me engaged in the story & I really liked this cutesy Hallmark type book. I love the small town romance with a friends to lovers trope. Overall I think this book was a fun read & one I would recommend to others.
**I did notice in the physical copy several errors with characters being swapped: ie pg 253 when Cassie & Allie were at the cabin with Robbie. The book notes it's Cassie's family cabin but it's actually Allie's. Also there's another on page 267 when it mentions Granny looking at a picture of her late husband & how he died before Mylie & Allie were born but it should be Cassie's name. These are small errors within the book but the audiobook was correct which is how I noticed it.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great and I love small town stories. This book transported me to warm weather and had coz vibes.

3.5 ⭐⭐⭐✨
Delivering on the small-town shenanigans, while showing all the aspects that make the main character's life complete this novel has a lot going for it. Where it could've used a little more work was the tension and relationship build up between the two leads.
For Mylie there's no place like home and that is a little town in Arkansas called Clay Creek. She has reached her goal of owning a successful fishing tackle business. She lives with Granny and helps raise her younger sister because their mom walked out on them both. I liked that Mylie had a job that we don't traditionally see many women in. She also didn't strike me as the kind of woman who is defined by her romantic relationship. The novel shows her stepping up to mentor her younger sister, running her business, planning a fishing tournament, and more. I appreciated how she was portrayed. 🎣
Ben left Clay Creek right after high school graduation to pursue his dreams of earning a degree in economics. After the deaths of his grandfather and mother he finds himself back in Clay Creek to deal with the sale of the family property, that just happens to be across the street from where his former best friend Mylie lives. It doesn't take long for Ben to remember how fast gossip travels in a small town. He has missed Mylie and longs to reconnect, but he has his eyes on a huge job offer on the east coast. Does that leave them at square one? Ben has a stubborn streak, and he steps in it a few times, but he's a likeable guy.
We see a dual timeline with flashbacks from sixth through twelfth grade showing the origin of their friendship. I enjoyed seeing these two as kids and Mylie thwarting the school bully had me laughing!
I liked Amanda Stribling's narration especially Granny's voice because it had a genuine southern ring to it without being syrupy. Southern accents vary a great deal, but I've heard many down here who speak like Granny. 👏🏻Who doesn't need a moonshine swilling bingo brawling Granny in their lives from time to time!? 👵🏻
The animal characters were a hoot and a half! I could tell the author was an animal lover by the way Stanley, Mylie's younger sister's dog was portrayed. His intuitive protective presence warmed my heart. As for Fat Tony.....you should meet this hilarious guy for yourself! 🤣 🐶🦝
There is some third act drama that's blown out of proportion, but it isn't a breakup because they aren't a couple. So, if you avoid third act break up books, I'm not sure which side of the fence you would be on here. There are a few spicy scenes, but they read pretty tame, take that into consideration according to your personal preferences.
A lighthearted humorous audiobook that whisked my brain away from chores for a while.
3.5 rounding ⬆️for narration.

4⭐️ If you know me, you know I love a good second chance romance. This had all of those elements. Boy leaves small town and girl behind. Comes back years later and that spark is still there. But the only reason Ben came back was because he promised his mother that he would return to their family home. He’s selling the house because he needs the money. Little does he know he is in for a surprise when he tries to enter “his” home only to find Mylie in her nightgown. Ben had forgotten how much their homes looked alike. Mylie isn’t surprised to see Ben because she saw the for sale sign being put up in the yard. What she is surprised about is how much she realizes she missed him. But can she open up again when neither of them tried to keep in touch. If Ben is selling the house, will he walk away from her again?
4⭐️ narration from Amanda Stribling. I really enjoyed how she brought the different tones to the characters. Mylie’s voice was so unique and made her stand out so well as a character. Ben came across soft and caring. The emotional pull in his story was very much felt in the narration.
