I absolutely loved the accents from the narrator on this book. It really set the scene for where we were in the Ozark's and kept me there. So many books could take place anywhere, but this book was so firmly set in Arkansas, I could feel the spring heat. Ben coming back and throwing a corkscrew into Mylie’s set life is everything I enjoy in a second chance romance. I also enjoyed the flashback chapters to show how they were in middle and high school as they were getting to know each other and best friends. That being said, I didn’t connect with their current romance. It was missing a little something for me in the middle from their reconnecting to getting together. Mylie dropping everything over and over again for her sister got old as well. Her sister is 14, not 4. She can handle herself in most situations, except the last. My favorite character: Fat Tony, LOL

Thank you to Netgalley & Harper Audio for approving this audiobook. I thought the narrator did a good job portraying both the FMC & MMC. She was able to keep me engaged in the story & I really liked this cutesy Hallmark type book. I love the small town romance with a friends to lovers trope. Overall I think this book was a fun read & one I would recommend to others.

**I did notice in the physical copy several errors with characters being swapped: ie pg 253 when Cassie & Allie were at the cabin with Robbie. The book notes it's Cassie's family cabin but it's actually Allie's. Also there's another on page 267 when it mentions Granny looking at a picture of her late husband & how he died before Mylie & Allie were born but it should be Cassie's name. These are small errors within the book but the audiobook was correct which is how I noticed it.

3.5 ⭐⭐⭐✨

Delivering on the small-town shenanigans, while showing all the aspects that make the main character's life complete this novel has a lot going for it. Where it could've used a little more work was the tension and relationship build up between the two leads.

For Mylie there's no place like home and that is a little town in Arkansas called Clay Creek. She has reached her goal of owning a successful fishing tackle business. She lives with Granny and helps raise her younger sister because their mom walked out on them both. I liked that Mylie had a job that we don't traditionally see many women in. She also didn't strike me as the kind of woman who is defined by her romantic relationship. The novel shows her stepping up to mentor her younger sister, running her business, planning a fishing tournament, and more. I appreciated how she was portrayed. 🎣

Ben left Clay Creek right after high school graduation to pursue his dreams of earning a degree in economics. After the deaths of his grandfather and mother he finds himself back in Clay Creek to deal with the sale of the family property, that just happens to be across the street from where his former best friend Mylie lives. It doesn't take long for Ben to remember how fast gossip travels in a small town. He has missed Mylie and longs to reconnect, but he has his eyes on a huge job offer on the east coast. Does that leave them at square one? Ben has a stubborn streak, and he steps in it a few times, but he's a likeable guy.

We see a dual timeline with flashbacks from sixth through twelfth grade showing the origin of their friendship. I enjoyed seeing these two as kids and Mylie thwarting the school bully had me laughing!

I liked Amanda Stribling's narration especially Granny's voice because it had a genuine southern ring to it without being syrupy. Southern accents vary a great deal, but I've heard many down here who speak like Granny. 👏🏻Who doesn't need a moonshine swilling bingo brawling Granny in their lives from time to time!? 👵🏻

The animal characters were a hoot and a half! I could tell the author was an animal lover by the way Stanley, Mylie's younger sister's dog was portrayed. His intuitive protective presence warmed my heart. As for Fat Tony.....you should meet this hilarious guy for yourself! 🤣 🐶🦝

There is some third act drama that's blown out of proportion, but it isn't a breakup because they aren't a couple. So, if you avoid third act break up books, I'm not sure which side of the fence you would be on here. There are a few spicy scenes, but they read pretty tame, take that into consideration according to your personal preferences.

A lighthearted humorous audiobook that whisked my brain away from chores for a while.

3.5 rounding ⬆️for narration.

4⭐️ If you know me, you know I love a good second chance romance. This had all of those elements. Boy leaves small town and girl behind. Comes back years later and that spark is still there. But the only reason Ben came back was because he promised his mother that he would return to their family home. He’s selling the house because he needs the money. Little does he know he is in for a surprise when he tries to enter “his” home only to find Mylie in her nightgown. Ben had forgotten how much their homes looked alike. Mylie isn’t surprised to see Ben because she saw the for sale sign being put up in the yard. What she is surprised about is how much she realizes she missed him. But can she open up again when neither of them tried to keep in touch. If Ben is selling the house, will he walk away from her again?

4⭐️ narration from Amanda Stribling. I really enjoyed how she brought the different tones to the characters. Mylie’s voice was so unique and made her stand out so well as a character. Ben came across soft and caring. The emotional pull in his story was very much felt in the narration.

It was cute, but I felt a little underwhelmed . I liked the small town setting and a hearing about the families, but the romance kind of fell flat for me.

Here's a 4-star Instagram review for "Spring Fling" by Annie England Noblin:
🌸 Just finished "Spring Fling" by Annie England Noblin and it was such a delightful read! This charming story was the perfect dose of small-town sweetness and blossoming romance. I adored the quirky characters and the way their lives intertwined. Noblin has a knack for creating a cozy atmosphere that just wraps you up.
While I thoroughly enjoyed the heartwarming plot and the witty banter, I felt like a couple of the secondary storylines could have been a little more developed. Still, this was a lovely escape and a perfect book to curl up with as the weather warms up. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a feel-good, lighthearted romance! ✨

This was a really sweet small town romance between two childhood friends. But Ben was gone for 10 years before he came back to town one last time. Soon the sparks and chemistry are undeniable between Ben and Mylie and what once were thought of as teenage love starts to become more.

I don’t usually go for the small town romances but this was a fun one to listen to. I really enjoyed Amanda’s narration and she did a great job with all the characters! My favourite side character has to be granny ❤️ and stan the dog 🐶

My heart! This small town, second chance romance is so absolutely endearing and sweet. The connection between Millie and Ben was just too perfect. Best friends growing up who always wanted to be more, a tale as old as time. Teenage me was sympathetic and my adult me’s heart was reeling with what could be after a long awaited reunion.

Granny and fat Tony were treasures in this story. I loved the strong badass southern Granny vibe, so funny.

Everyone should read. It’s a feel gooder!

Miley and Ben grew up in a small town as besties who never confessed their true feelings for each other. Ben moved away to a big city for college and the two lost touch.
Now he’s back to sell the family home. What will ben and Miley make of their second chance?

2.5 ⭐️
If you’re looking for a light romance novel with a unique setting and a dash of spice, this will be up your alley.

I felt that this novel could definitely have been more robust. The characters all lacked dimension to me and there were a lot of threads that seemed to dead end, like what was the point of the younger sister drinking in the parking lot?
Many of the scenes also came across as rushed. We made it through the slow burn to have the spicy scenes skip from kissing to naked to sweaty and done far better too quickly.
When listening to the audio version, much of the conversation felt choppy and the word “said” was used glaringly frequently, and other words were just as applicable.

These things kept me from really getting into the novel and why I give it a 2.5 star rating.

Thank you @NetGalley and @harperaudio for the audio of "Spring Fling" This was a very sweet cozy small town romance. Friends to lovers. The dual narration was very entertaining and they brought the characters to life. I enjoyed Mylie and Ben reconnecting after not seeing each other for a decade. Seeing how they just want a simple fling to see what could have been. The spice was low but just right for this book. The last chapter had me sighing and cheering for them. To find out the real reason why Ben mom wanted him to stay at the house before selling. My heart just melted.

3.25 This was a cute, easy and quick read. I enjoyed the story and characters. Granny seems like a woman I want to be friends with.

The two timelines was a fun surprise- starting from when they met in 6th grade, we get some backstory on their relationship as they age and get closer to Ben leaving.

Two best friends, Ben and Mylie, who had feelings for each other but never acted on them reconnect after 10years and jump into a friends with benefits situation that has an expiration since Ben is leaving again. I wish there was a bit more substance to them reconnecting- they barely discussed anything before acknowledging a physical attraction and jumping into bed together. Also, zero conversation about protection or birth control which stuck out to me - I thought we might get an accidental pregnancy trope thrown in.

2.5 rounded up. This was an overall okay read. I didn’t love Mylie and Ben as a couple and I felt that the spice went from 0-100 without any kind of build up. I also noticed a few inconsistencies that drove me insane. Like Jodi’s mom giving her a hard time for not being married but then mid book she is married. And Cassie breaking up with her boyfriend and then boom they’re just magically together?. The small town vibe was cute. I also loved Granny and Morris.

Miley owns of a tackle shop in her home town and Ben, her childhood best friend who comes home after moving away 10 years ago to sell his grandfather house and go back 1 more time a promise he made to his mom. When they see each other again there the awkwardness of not seeing your best friend in 10 years to falling back into the friendship and Miley always wanted to tell him how she felt is this her chance? He's leaving once the house is sold is it worth it?

The story was fine the friends to lovers part wasn't very strong for me it seemed to easy just hi to ok lets do this. I didn't buy the quick romance there was no real drama or connection. the only drama comes from the end and it wasn't just them there was a sub story that had more emotion/ drama.

Thanks to NetGalley for this Audio arc in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I had the opportunity to read this a while ago and adored it. Then I was privileged to listen to the audiobook version. I loved the book and couldn’t imagine liking it more, but I was wrong. For me, the narration was wonderful and brought the characters to life in a different way than when I read it. I truly adored this listen. The story takes place in a small town over years. It’s about friendship, love, loss, small town nosiness, disconnections, reconnections, listening to ones heart and head and trying to figure out which to follow, some very loving, but stubborn people, and some serious craziness thrown in as well. Mylie and Ben have loved each other for what seems like forever, but neither told the other. When Ben left town, he barely looked back. They had very different life goals and dreams so how could anything possibly work? She has her Granny, younger sister and a business she is so very proud of and he never considered their town his home. It was what it was. When he decides to sell his family home so he can move on with his life, he heads back to town thinking he can get in and out without much fanfare. Haha! It’s a nice, easy, sort of predictable (it is of course what we were expecting so not a true spoiler) yet wonderful read to their eventual HEA. A great cast of characters, good writing and a great ending made for a wonderful read. If I could give more stars than 5 I would!

This book is a cute, childhood-best-friends-reconnecting-second-chance romance. The small town and its antics are a character all on its own. If you enjoy a small town romance, livened up with a sassy granny, and a few open door rendezvous you'll like this book!

Narration was done really well- loved the accents- they sounded true to the Arkansas lilt that I've heard before!

This was a one day listen for me, and I thought it was fine for a cute second chance romance.

Miley's life in her small hometown is thriving, but she is thrown for a loop when her childhood best friend (and secret love of her life) returns 10 years later to sell the family house. The book is about rediscovering whether they have feelings for one another.

I am not the biggest fan of second chance romance under these circumstances. The premise is that both main characters were secretly in love with each other back in high school but never told the other. They kept in touch a little when Ben went away for school but ultimately lost touch. It just seemed like the entire book could have been avoided with a little bit of communication.

The ending had kind of this weird thriller-esque twist to it that I was not expecting and that threw me off a little.

Overall, I enjoyed the narration and it was a solid audiobook.

This book made me wish I lived in a fictional small town! With a strong cast of side characters the plot really drove this book alongside the romance - I definitely wasn’t just waiting for the main characters to be alone.

Plot: Miley and Ben reconnect after 10 years apart when he visits the small town where they grew up, and where Mylie now owns a successful business. But will their connection be enough to keep him there?

Read if you like: Small town charm, friends to lovers, second chances

Vibes: Hart of Dixie, but with fewer love triangles

Thanks to Netgalley and HarperAudio for providing me with a copy of the book.

Spring Fling is your typical small town second chance romance. Both of the main characters have had years apart to figure out who they are. Mylie seems stuck in her ways and where she is at in life, but seems to be happy living the way she has. Ben has moved off and had no intentions on going back to his hometown, until his mom threw a wrench in his plans. After getting used to small town life and realizing everything he has been missing Ben has to make a tough choice on following his career or his heart.
Overall I thought this book was a quick enjoyable read. I also enjoyed the narrator and thought she did a great job!

Spring Fling by Annie England Noblin, narrated by Amanda Stribling. Great beach read. Mylie and Ben who lived next door to each other and were best friends. Ben moves back to Chicago after high school then years later comes back to sell the house. Can they reconnect and go from friends to lovers? You only get one second chance. Thank you to #Netgalley and #HarperAudio for this Arc. This is my honest review.
