A quick second chance romance. I actually would love to see this one turned into a full novel. I enjoyed the characters and the development of the relationship, but was left wanting it all a little more fleshed out.

The Sumner House Honest ARC Review:

This has all the feels of a small town romance and is a nice read after a chaotic day.

Mandy Carter and Rick Benson were dating and married for a brief time after meeting in college.
The two divorced and moved on with their lives.

Eight years later, Mandy had the opportunity to stay at a friend’s summer home and her life took an unexpected turn, leading her to spend a day with Rick. Both characters have evolved and matured since their last encounter, allowing them to approach the relationship with a new perspective. Neither is looking for romance initially, however chemistry cannot be denied.

The characters must grapple with lingering emotions from their past, unresolved issues with cheating and the fear of getting hurt again.

The familiarity of the characters and the revisiting of past memories creates a sense of comfort and emotional connection.

This story has a nostalgic, small town romantic vibe and would be a great addition to your TBR list!

I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing this ARC with me!

🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you NetGalley for the audio ARC

Solid 4 stars I’m a big Susan Mallery fan so I was excited to listen to this one. The narrator did a good job embodying the characters. Not usually a fan of solo narrators but this one didn’t bother me. It’s a shirt sweet listen too. Second chance romance. I really liked the main characters and the love they found once again. Very sweet book highly recommend.

This quick enjoyable read is light hearted with a shot of second chances and a tug to your heart with family bonding. The narrator is clear and great throughout the book. This is a short story so no character build ups or climax events. It's very to the point from beginning to end. Predictable but enjoyable read.

Thank you Net galley for the advanced copy of this audiobook. Young lovers married young- divorced- then got a second chance at love. The development of both MC growing up independently then able to re-emerge stronger together is a sweet story. Very quick read- a novella but I would like to have another follow up story as felt easily could have been a longer story.

This was pretty boring. I enjoy second chance romance but the romance itself fell kinda flat. I didn’t really feel the connection between the characters.

Loved Eva and the SPED teacher rep! The narrator was god but I just couldn’t get into the story.

I don't really have anything against this book, it just wasn't what I was expecting. I didn't realize it was a republish of a previous book of Mallery's, but it was an easy and quick read/listen and the characters were enjoyable. The ending of the story seemed rushed and unrealistic, but maybe that's just me.
