This is a beautiful and whimsical book about what art does for us and can do for us if we allow ourselves to be creative and playful. Art is defined in many ways - from what haircut we wear to what we wear to the films we like, the music we enjoy, etc. It evokes feelings and creates community with others. What I particularly loved about this book is they say that we are making art all of the time but we don't usually think of it as art or call it art. That expanded the definition for me in a really wonderful way given I don't think of myself as "artistic." I was attracted to this book in particular because of Eno (whose music I adore and all its iterations and its mood-evoking qualities). I also loved the idea that art makes feelings happen - feelings differentiate us from our AI overlords Appreciating art is something that connects us to ourselves and to others - and to our collective humanity. I just found this book incredibly beautiful and thought-provoking and reaffirming.
