As someone who loves and knows a lot about bats, I enjoyed this book and thought it was a thorough introduction to the animals. I myself learned a lot of new and interesting things from this book, like how a Bulldog bat eats fish, or a Painted bat looks like a butterfly. I also enjoyed the mythology that was included about bats' origins. I also like that the book included how human influence can be harmful to bats and also how people can help. I didn't love the passive language around deforestation, though- "deforestation has occurred". It makes it sound like something that just happens. The images were great and the wording was straightforward and easy to understand. Some of the text was a little small, but that might have been because I was reading it on a phone. I would definitely use this book in a unit on bats.

My kiddos love learning about animals. This was an easy fun read about bats and they both enjoyed it. With lots of new information about bats and even recommendations for making your backyard bat friendly. My son said he wants a bat box now.

This would be a great addition to a K-2 classroom in the month of October. I liked how it focused on misunderstandings surrounding bats. My students would be very interested, and the large photographs would make this fun to share in the classroom.

This book is all about bats. There is trivia and fun facts throughout the book. It even talks about busting myths about bats and how they are not as dangerous and scary as one might think.
There are many different kinds of bats like, the Honduran white bat, painted bat, Buettikofer's epauletted fruit bat, little brown bat, common vampire bat, and ghost bat. I never knew that there were so many different types of bats around the world. This book talks about busting bat myths, bats around the world, bat behaviors, what roles they have for the ecosystem and bat conservation. These listed will help you learn more about bats and how important they can be.
One thing that could be added is that there could be a bit more information and a little less pictures.

I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for an honest review. Greta knew kids nonfiction about bats. I especially loved the quiz at the beginning.
