Absolutely loved this one! Megan Miranda never disappoints! I was hooked from the first chapter! There were so many twists to keep you on your toes! I wasn’t expecting that ending, but I liked it!

Megan Miranda did it again! This fast-paced mystery keeps the pages turning, delivering satisfying answers and well-placed puzzle pieces. While some twists are predictable and the biggest mystery unfolds as expected, the story remains an engaging small-town thriller that can be devoured in one sitting.

📚 You Belong Here
✍ Megan Miranda
📖 Mystery/Thriller
⭐4/5

🙏 Thank you to Simon Element, NetGalley and the author for an advanced digital copy of You Belong Here. All opinions are my own.

🎯 What I loved: I love Megan Miranda's writing and find the way she describes settings and characters completely immersive. The college campus in a small town with lots of tension between the town and the school was reminiscent of my own experience as a college freshman and I found it easy to picture something like what Beckett and Delilah experienced happening at my school. The characters were all interesting and had a good backstory and the winding timelines were executed really well. This was another really solid mystery/thriller from Miranda and I definitely recommend it!

🙅‍♀️ What I didn't: The ending felt slightly messy with Beckett exploring multiple theories and then quickly abandoning them in favor of another answer and I'm not sure that the ending felt like as much of a resolution as I wanted it to. Overall though, this was really well written and I enjoyed the setting and characters quite a bit.

Read if you love:
*crimes set years apart tied together in some way
*college campus/small town settings
*mother/daughter relationships
*missing persons cases

I LOVED You Belong Here. This is my favorite type of read - a story with multiple timelines, descriptive writing with a vivid setting, and plenty of twists with red herrings.
I could not read this book fast enough. I was so eager to find out who was behind the current murders/harassment as well as find out what had happened 20 years prior. It's the type of book where I have to force myself not to peek ahead because I am so desperate to find the answers. There were plenty of times that I was sure I knew who the mystery person was only to be wrong again and again. This made reading the story much more fun.

Megan Miranda always hits and this one is no exception. This will be a definite purchase for my library's collection as well as an easy staff pick. Pass along to those looking for their next thriller.

Thank you to Netgalley for the Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVED this one. The plot kept me wondering until the end, though I did figure out who dunnit and put the clues together. If I hadn’t been able to figure it out I would have given it 5 stars. I really enjoyed the plot and tying all the timelines together.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy to honestly review.

This upcoming novel is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the haunting power of past secrets and their impact on the present. I think Megan Miranda excels in crafting a tense and atmospheric setting, with Wyatt Valley serving as a character in its own right. The duel timelines effectively build suspense, gradually revealing the layers of Beckett’s past and the town’s secrets. Readers will praise the novel’s slow burn tensions and the emotional depth of the mother-daughter relationship. You Belong Here is a compelling addition to Megan Miranda’s body of work, offering a suspenseful narrative that explores the complexities of memory, identity, and the ties that bind us to our past. While it may not be her most groundbreaking novel, it delivers a satisfying and emotionally resonant story that will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers and dark academia. I loved it and will recommend to everyone!

Beckett Bowery was asked to leave Wyatt College after a tragedy caused by her roommate called into question her complicity. It was difficult to leave; her parents taught at the school, and she grew up in a house adjacent to it. Now, 20 years later, daughter Delilah, against Beckett’s better judgement, attends Wyatt on full scholarship; her grandparents still reside in the same house in this small college town. When Delilah appears to go missing, the past returns to haunt Beckett. Danger ensues, and secrets are revealed.

Told in two timelines, the events of the past slowly unfold while the race is on to find Delilah. While this may not be my favorite Megan Miranda story, I couldn’t put it down, reading late into the night to finish it in one day. There are twists in this suspenseful, eerily atmospheric read which begs the question: how far will you go for your child?

Thank you, Simon Element, for providing the copy of You Belong Here by Megan Miranda. Wow, what a book! I was mesmerized by the story and the writing from the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading until the end. The book was well-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. There were so many reveals and I loved that the clues were all there but the big reveal still surprised me. If you’re looking for an exciting, well-written book that you won’t be able to put down, don’t you dare miss this book. Not my favorite of Megan Miranda. Not as edgy or full of twists. Megan is a great writer, just wasn’t my fave to read. I am used to be a little more surprised by her plot and steps throughout the story.

A well written suspense that kept me hooked. Beckett Bowery' daughter, Delilah, has chosen to go to college where her mother did. Most would be excited, but her mother has been keeping a secret, one that ended in the death of two locals, the disappearance of another, and changed the path of her life. Written in a split time line, we see how the story unfolds from Beckett's time at college while the past comes back to haunt her present. A great beach read to keep you on your toes. Thank you to Netgalley and Simon Element & Marysue Rucci Books for the advanced copy.

Unfortunately this Miranda thriller did not have staying power - a month after reading and the characters, setting, and central conflict are blurred if not forgotten. Standard domestic thriller fare - familial secrets, a mysterious setting, characters from the past that come back to haunt the present.

This novel is thrilling and suspenseful and tough to put down. I did feel that the first half of the novel kind of dragged and then the ending seemed a bit rushed. I enjoyed this.

I kept waiting for a twist or big reveal or anything shocking at the end with Beckett's story from her past, but it never happened. The ending fell a little flat for me.

I appreciate the ARC, our library will be purchasing this book when it's released.

Classic Megan Miranda thrilled. The characters were believable, with flaws and realistic relationships. I loved the setting. The pacing on this one could be adjusted; the first have was relatively slow and difficult to get into. The second half I felt like I flew through. I guessed a couple twist, but not all.

Overall enjoyable read for summer.

Thanks to publisher and NetGalley for eARC.

3.5 stars rounded up

Beckett leaves Wyatt Valley after her senior year of college and never looks back. She fled after her best friend started a fire that left two people dead and then just up and vanished. That fire has always held so many unanswered questions for Beckett. She doesn't dare go back. Beckett finds out that her daughter, Delilah, secretly applied to the same Wyatt College and got accepted. Beckett gets a frightening call from her daughter and finds out that Delilah participated in a hazing game, The Howling, and the the call drops. Beckett decides she must return to the one place that she said she'd never return to. Once she returns, accusations start flying.

I'm a big Megan Miranda fan. Her books just always hit. You Belong Here will especially be a bit for thriller fans, but also those into dark academia.
I deducted a star because while I was entertained right up until the ending but I felt like it was rather rushed and the ending was a bit abrupt.

A big thanks to Simon & Schuster and Netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

3.75⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Simon Element for the ARC—all opinions are my own!
Another captivating and fast-paced read by Megan Miranda! A story about a woman whose past comes back to haunt her with tons of suspense. Every book I read by this author is full of layered characters and detailed backstories, and this one was no different—I flew through it. That said, the ending left me wanting a bit more. I kept waiting for a final twist or big moment that never quite came. Still, it’s definitely one of my favorites from her recent books, and I think fans of her writing will really enjoy it when it hits shelves.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A single mother revisits a traumatic college experience when her daughter chooses to attend her hometown college.

Beckett swore that she would never return to her hometown after a tragic accident happened when she was a college student. She has to return unexpectedly when her daughter secretly enrolls in the college that Beckett attended. While she is there, a mystery begins to unfold that involves her daughter and may or may not be linked to Beckett‘s past. I enjoyed this book although I felt like it was a slower paced thriller. I enjoyed Beckett’s character development and appreciated what she was willing to do to help her daughter. I wish that the book explained the “howling” in a little bit more detail. I would recommend this book to those who like a slow burn mystery.
