I received an ARC of this ebook from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review. This was a fast paced thriller that hooked me from the start. The suspense scenes successfully creeped me out. The ending was not what I would have chosen but it was more realistic this way.

3.5 stars rounded up. This book was a slow burn, with a large part of it alluding to a past event we don’t know the details of, and so many details from the present that it nearly became tedious. However, the intrigue kept me hooked and this was definitely a story I wanted to finish.

We open with a single mom dropping off her daughter at a college several hours from home, the same college she grew up near and attended, and where something terrible happened that caused her to never go back, despite her parents living within walking distance of it and being professors there. Then, a couple of months into the school year, a middle of the night phone call has her dropping everything and driving back there through the dark mountains to check on the safety of her daughter.

Sometimes the timelines and logistics were so complicated I questioned how realistic they could be, but setting that aside, all details led somewhere, and the ending was not something I would have guessed. It also wasn’t an ending that gave much relief, but life doesn’t always end in sunshine and rainbows. I do enjoy Megan Miranda’s writing and she certainly built the world of this college town in a way that immersed me completely.

I really enjoyed this novel! I was a little worried at first because the back and forth can sometimes get confusing but Megan Miranda did a great job keeping me engaged. I wish the ending was a better but overall, great book!

As a Megan Miranda fan, I had high hopes for You Belong Here but unfortunately, it just didn't hit the mark for me. There were a couple of things that knocked it to a 3 star for me.

The first probably half of the book just moved really slow. It picked up towards the end but initially it was hard to get into. I also feel like the references to the past could have been fleshed out a little more. It was all pretty vague up until the end and even then, I still would have liked to know just a little more.

Overall an enjoyable read but not a homerun for me. But I do appreciate Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

This newest page-turner by Megan Miranda kept me guessing right up to the end. While it was a slower burn than some of her other books, it was enjoyable read that had some twisty plot turns. A solid read.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc

Thank you to Megan Miranda, Simon Element/ S&S/ Marysue Rucci Books, & Netgalley the e-arc of You Belong Here! This is a fast-paced mystery thriller! Flipping between past and present tense with the past coming back to haunt the main character! Good plot twist! Devoured in one sitting! I requested this book because I read Daughter of Mine by the same author last year and loved it. This book publishes on 7/29/25!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for review.

Beckett's daughter leaves for college, in the same small town that Beckett left after her own college experience, which ended in two dead locals and her roommate disappearing. When weird things start to happen, Beckett comes back to find her daughter, who is possibly swept up in a local tradition - with dangerous consequences.

I did enjoy this book but it did read slow at first. It felt like a lot happened in the last 25% of the book and I wished it had been spread out a bit at the beginning. But this was eerie at times and well-written so I am sure Miranda fans will love this!

When a mother vows never to return to her hometown—the place she fled decades ago after a tragic incident sealed her fate—she believes the past is buried. But when her daughter goes missing, she is forced to confront the very mistakes she once tried to escape.

Beckett Bowery, the daughter of two academics, left Wyatt Valley after becoming a prime suspect in a campus fire that claimed the lives of two young men. Now a ghostwriter, she has raised her daughter, Delilah, in solitude—until Delilah is accepted into the very college where Beckett’s past unraveled. Her roommate, Adalyn, was involved in the same deadly fire years ago, and Beckett was suspected of helping her disappear. Though a key witness refused to come forward, Beckett chose exile over fighting the accusations.

Now, with Delilah enrolled at the school and suddenly unreachable after a cryptic late-night call, Beckett fears her daughter is caught in a new, sinister reenactment of the town’s infamous Howling Night. Desperate to find her, she returns to Wyatt Valley—only to discover that her former flame, Clint, is now the college dean. As Beckett digs deeper, old secrets resurface, threatening not just Delilah’s safety but also her own. To save her daughter, she must confront the past she thought she had outrun—before it’s too late.

This fast-paced mystery keeps the pages turning, delivering satisfying answers and well-placed puzzle pieces. While some twists are predictable and the biggest mystery unfolds as expected, the story remains an engaging small-town thriller that can be devoured in one sitting. As a longtime fan of the author, I’m rounding up 3.5 stars to 4 for this intriguing, suspenseful read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon Element / S&S / Marysue Rucci Books for providing me with a digital review copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Another solid read from Megan Miranda! I found this book to be a bit of a slow burn, but not in a bad way. It didn't drag like some other books have. If you enjoyed her previous offerings, you will most certainly like this one. I thought I had it figured out and BAM! I did not, ha!

I was lucky enough to get to read this early! Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. It was a bit of a slow burn at first but once the thrills hit, THEY HIT. I finished 75% in one sitting. While it was a slow burn, I appreciated the character build up that ultimately was very necessary for the remainder of the story. Just when you think you know what’s happening, I promise you don’t. I’ll definitely be buying it once it’s out!

I just love Miranda's atmospheric details and writing. Another hit from one of my must have authors. She writes a suspense like no one else.

This was a little bit quieter and more introspective than I expected for a domestic suspense, and the ending was realistic and hopeful but not happy. But it was well-written and it did keep my interest throughout.

You Belong Here was absolutely fantastic! The author wrote a story that was so well written I found myself flying through the pages, unable to put the book down, pondering what would happen next. My favorite piece of this entire story was how believable the characters were.

The writing is clear and clean, and very immersive. The book hums along at a good clip, but the pacing makes sure we're given time to breathe between plot-intensifying moments. The story was absolutely engaging and the work that went into the settings was noticeable and superb. I felt absolutely transported and I'm so incredibly glad I was able to read an arc of this story.

This book was *chef’s kiss*! I enjoy most Megan Miranda books, but I think this one was my favorite by far! I’m a sucker for academic settings, and I loved how it left enough breadcrumbs to follow but I wasn’t 100% sure I had guessed the ending until it happened! So well done, great setting, great pacing, and characters that were likable, but you’re unsure if you should be rooting for them or not. The perfect thriller!

Megan Miranda is one of my favorite authors. Loved this book! Keep me interested from beginning to end! Lots of twists. Kept me guessing up until the very end!

I liked this until the inanely didactic denouement in which the culprit carefully explains her entire plan to the protagonist like a kitschy Bond villain. It’s just lazy to resolve a plot with explanatory dialogue.

Wow! This is a wild ride. It would have been five stars but it didn't end the way I had hoped. It was definitely a fast-paced page turned with short chapters! Definitely recommend!
