We are in the town of Stoneview. The driver realizes something is wrong with the way the car is acting and loses control, crashing. The driver says that it was not an accident, but a pre-planned crash. Who would do such a thing and why!
Mark's first wife passed away and he is now married to Drew who has many secrets. Drew has a 20-year old son, and Mark has an unfriendly sister who resents Drew's presence in Mark's life. .She disapproves of Drew, and is not happy
Drew does have a secret that must stay silent. She bears heartaches of her own, along with fears and a frantic desire to stay the course. Mark's sister has secrets of her own.
Jason, Sarah's son has secrets too.. What a dysfunctional bunch.
These people seem to have no moral compass at all and the consequences of their deceit keep piling up.
As the story unraveled, I couldn't stop reading until I finished the book.
The author has written a twisty, modern psychological thriller that features twists and manipulation throughout. We never really know what this family is really about...until the ending. It is almost as if the author is twisting us around too.
It was shocking and worth reading, and... it made me mad.
Even the ending was, well, shocking and stopped me in my tracks.
Thanks to th author and publisher for allowing me to read the ARC copy.
All opinions are my own.

I seem to be in a minority, but this book didn't work for me. It started out well but about halfway through I just couldn't get into any of the characters and I DNF.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

L.G. Davis's The New Marriage plunges readers into a domestic thriller where apparent happiness masks a chilling foundation of deception. This is a story told through the shifting perspectives of a husband and wife, each harboring dangerous secrets that could unravel their seemingly perfect union.

"The Wife," who goes by Drew, hands her husband Mark his coffee, her hands shaking from the weight of her hidden truths. She knows Mark is concealing something profound, but her own secrets are far deeper, including an envelope under their bed holding a life-altering revelation and the fact that Mark doesn't even know her real name. The most perilous secret of all: the true reason they met so soon after his first wife's death.

Meanwhile, "The Husband," Mark, reflects on meeting Drew at the hospital, both grieving, seemingly finding a second chance at happiness. But he, too, has discovered Drew's lies, finding evidence of her false identity among old photographs. Determined to uncover why Drew is so scared and what she's hiding, Mark is prepared to go to extreme lengths for the people he loves, hinting at a dark truth about his own past—specifically, "what happened to my last wife."

The New Marriage is a masterclass in psychological suspense, a taut narrative where every shared glance and whispered word is loaded with unspoken danger. It's a compelling read for anyone who enjoys a story where trust is a fragile illusion and the past is a ticking time bomb, promising a thrilling descent into a marriage built on a foundation of lies and lethal secrets.

What a bunch of horribly messed up people! Ha! The New Marriage was full of twists, turns and secrets, but I had a hard time connecting to or really liking any of the characters. Some had rough upbringings. Some had difficult things to cope with in the past. But do those things justify their bad behavior? I’ve always enjoyed Davis’s books, but this one wasn’t quite at the level of her previous works. However, it’s still worth picking up for a quick, entertaining read. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the digital ARC.

The New Marriage by LG Davis is a captivating story about love, trust, and the complexities of relationships. The book dives deep into the emotional ups and downs of a couple navigating big life changes. I really enjoyed how real and raw the characters felt – their struggles and growth were so relatable.

While the pacing was a bit slow at times, the story’s emotional depth really kept me invested. If you’re into relationship-driven dramas that explore both the highs and lows, this one’s for you!

Big thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers with a domestic twist, The New Marriage by L.G. Davis is the kind of book that grabs you early and doesn’t let go.

The story follows Drew, a woman trying to navigate what seems like an ideal marriage with her husband, Mark—until she begins to uncover unsettling truths. From the beginning, Davis does a great job planting subtle clues that something isn’t quite right. What I appreciated most was how the tension built steadily, not just from shocking events but through the emotional weight of secrets, mistrust, and manipulation.

Without spoiling anything, there’s a major twist later in the book that genuinely caught me off guard—which is rare for me in this genre. The dynamic between Drew and Mark’s sister, though, felt a bit uncomfortable at times and might leave you with mixed feelings, especially if you’re sensitive to morally grey or manipulative character interactions.

That said, if you enjoy books where no one can be trusted, and every chapter pulls the rug out from under you, this is definitely worth reading. It’s fast-paced, emotionally charged, and just twisted enough to keep you flipping pages late into the night.

Just about everything I've gotten from Bookouture has been a 5 star read, and this one did not let me down! I was hooked from the beginning of this book and it was a whirlwind of a ride! It was very fast paced, all the characters had this sneaky way about them I felt i Just had to keep reading to find out about! It felt like everyone was hiding something! The secrets all came out in a pretty neat little bow just like they always do, poor Mark, but that ending!!!! I Will def be looking forward to more from this author in the future!

Really enjoyable thriller. It's a pretty overdone plot, but I thought it was executed nicely. Lots of twists and turns that I didn't see coming and I found it a bit of a refreshing take on a pretty tired troupe! 4 stars!!

The New Marriage is a thrills a minute thriller that will have you guessing until the very end.
I’ve read a few of this author’s books and I have enjoyed them immensely and this one is another one that’s worth a read.
Drew and Mark are happily married after both of them losing partners.
But not everyone is happy with this union.
Mark’s sister Sarah is angry and will make sure Drew never replaces his first wife.
Sarah’s best friend Melody was also Mark’s wife.
Drew finds a winning lottery ticket but for her to cash it in she must become public knowledge and she doesn’t want anyone to know her secret past.
But Mark is also hiding secrets.
What happens next is………… well read the book to find out.
A very entertaining psychological experience.
A domestic suburban drama full of interesting characters, a clever plot and that unexpected ending.
Secrets, lies and family drama are just the beginning….

Felt copy and paste of similar books that have been put out recently. It needed different twists and to be more unguessable.

Secrets secrets secrets!!! Everybody has earth shattering secrets. And they're barely hanging on to keep their lives together without coming apart at the seams. This was a twisty one!
The New Marriage is full of terrible characters, lying and hiding their way through the story. With plot twists at the end of every chapter and drops of foreshadowing thru out I had to read on to see where all this was going!
Drama!
I was going to give this a 3 from a solid 3.5 for being above the average page turner thriller but I just loved the ending! It was spectacular! 4 stars!
Thank you, Netgalley, publisher, and author for the ARC.

A good thriller with lots of twists and turns. Everyone is lying and hiding sinister secrets. Unreliable characters make it more interesting. Multiple viewpoints increase the suspense. Drew, Mark, Sarah, and Jason all have dark regrets. As everything revealed in the end, it was shocking. Fast-paced chapters with a chilling climax. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

I will read anything Davis writes!
The New Marriage by L.G. Davis grabbed me from the very beginning and didn’t let go until the end.
I loved the tension of this book, and the author captured the creepy feel.
I was hooked from the very beginning and COULD NOT put it down. There was so much to learn as you kept reading to learn more, so many characters had secrets and you don't know who to trust.
The twists, they didn't stop...it was bombshell after bombshell followed by plenty of jaw dropping moments that I wasn't expecting!
