The day I had a fire truck by Ashley Wall is an different perspective for children to understand what it would be like working as a firefighter for the day. The children get to go to different calls and the author does an excellent job of highlighting new words and roles for small children. The illustration is beautiful and compliments the story perfectly. My children enjoyed listening to this book.

Thank you for the ARC. This was a cute story about kids getting to play firefighters for a day. They saved a cat, put out a fire, drove the truck, etc. The pictures were cute and was a fun story to read with my toddler.

This was a cute story about a little boy who had the opportunity to drive a truck. I read it with my 5 year old son and he was interested, as he loves all vehicles. He did look interest toward the end, but it could’ve been that it’s hard to read some books on a phone.
Overall, cute story.
Thank you MamaBear Books, Net Galley and Ashley Wall for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

My toddler has officially started requesting to for through NetGalley and pick books to read haha. She’s a little bibliophile! She really enjoyed flipping through this book, but at 2.5 years old there were just too many words on each page to keep her interest. The illustrations were adorable and she did enjoy flipping through and talking about those. The book as a whole was super cute, and I think within the next year she will be able to better pay attention! I plan to buy a copy of this for a friends kid since her husband is a firefighter and this is too cute!

Such an adorable book. The illustrations were very cute and well done. The story does a great job of introducing some big words in a child friendly way.

This was a cute book, focused on a group of friends working as local firefighters. My kids' and my favorite part was the illustrations; they are beautifully done! This would make a great book for younger kids, that aren't at the stage of reading to follow a story yet but enjoy looking at pictures and sharing that time with someone reading to them. As for the story, it was cute! I do think that there were some parts that could've been fleshed out a bit more. For example, after putting out a fire, one character says, "We reminded them about fire safety." This would've been a perfect opportunity to teach the reader about fire safety with something like, "We reminded them to always turn off the stove and never use candles without a grown up to prevent fires," or whatever would be applicable for that specific scenario. There were several moments in the book when I had similar thoughts, but overall it was a cute quick read!

Thank you so much to MamaBear Books and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Luke and his friends are entrusted to be the firefighters for the day, getting to save a cat, put out a fire and conquering their fears.
This was really cute honestly, it was imaginative and the characters got such a fun adventure getting to be firefighters. I really enjoyed that it also had an educational part to it too, showing all the various aspects of a fire truck, its tools and how they worked. It was really great that it showcased so much for the readers to learn.
Children are going to love this story, it really is so fun, it’s something many children want to do, have a fun day being a firefighter, seeing the ins and out of it all, getting to save people and be the hero. This book shows them each step of it and what an experience could be like.
The illustrations was great, though the characters heads seemed a bit off proportion to their bodies. However they showed the story off perfectly with what the children were doing, it showed all the fire truck aspects. This is certainly a story I believe children would really love reading.

A sweet book about a group of friends playing “fireman” for the day… with a little stretch of the imagination of them driving the fire truck and saving the neighborhood cat! The adventures are endless with imagination.
The illustrations are beautiful and my three year old really enjoyed this quick, fun story. I would definitely tune in to see what is next for this group of friends!

This was such a cute book! My boys (4 and 2) really loved it. They were engaged the whole time and now want to see if they can be firefighters for a day.

"The Day I Had a Fire Truck" is a cute story about the basics of running a fire truck. The story was fun and easy to follow for young readers. The characters were diverse.

The firemen have to take the day off because they need to try out the new water slide. The kids are happy to step in, driving the firetruck around town and helping their neighbors. Thank goodness they were there to put out fires and save cats!
This is such a cute book about how kids can use their imagination to have wonderful adventures.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Very cute story, my son was so invested in the pictures and couldn’t stop giggling! He really, really enjoyed it and it was so lovely reading it with him!

It was an alright read but I don't think my son enjoyed it as much as some of the others we have read. Nice story about some kids being firefighters for the day

Mother of a 5yo and 8yo here and we LOVED this book! My son is a huge fan of firefighters and loved the chance to experience a day as a firefighter, as Luke grabs his dog and a few friends to spend a day in the life of a firefighter. What a clever idea, we cannot wait to see what else Ashley Wall as written!
Thank you to NetGalley and Independent Book Publishers Association for this eARC!

5⭐
Firefighters have decided to take the day off, leaving little Luke in charge.
I can safely say this is one of my son's favorite books at the moment & mine too! Constantly asking for fire trucks!

A very fun story of a boy who has to be firefighter for a day. He assembles a crew and helps his community in ways that a firefighter would usually do so. The illustrations are fun as well.

This is a delightfully charming picture book! My kids loved the story of Luke’s adventurous day with the fire truck. The message of friendship and helping each other was beautifully done. The illustrations were perfect as well. Highly recommend!

Lovely story with a great message, just perfect for the little ones.
With wonderful illustrations that catches the eye and compliments perfectly the story, this book transports the youngest to a wonderful adventure with great lessons.

I read this book to my 4 yos (b/g twins) while waiting for big sister to finish gymnastics. It was a hit! They loved that the kids got to be the firefighters for the day. There was an inclusive group of friends, and each of them felt they got to take part.
The illustrations were descriptive enough that they felt that they could read the story from the pictures alone.

A lovely story, especially great for my son who is fire truck mad! The perfect balance of imaginative and informative, showing children that they don't just put out fires! The illustrations were beautiful too.
