Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine - Bantam for this digital arc!
I enjoyed this more than I initially expected to. The pacing was great and once I started I flew through in a day. There were some predictable elements and you need to suspend reality a bit with how much Jet should be able to do but I was there for the ride and needed to see how it was all tied together. Solid 4star pool read.

A thriller with so many twists and turns and an ending we did not see coming. Holly Jackson delivered a gripping, suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat novel with Not Quite Dead Yet.
Our MC, Jet, is attacked on Halloween night and nearly dies. When she wakes up in the hospital, she is told she had seven days to live. She is determined to do something epic in her last seven days and solve her own murder.
This book is so good, I could not put it down until I finished it! The thrill is there, the suspense is there, the twists are there - it's all just so good from start to finish. I loved the dark humor and how Jet was able to "make light" of the situation. The jokes and sarcasm had me peeling over! Lol. Jet, of course, has a transformation at some point, after being part of an incident that almost took her life (not the brutal attack), and it was nice to see her go from having such a passive idea about whether she lives or dies to wanting to live. That was a very emotional, tear-jerking moment for me. The ending was great. I did not see it coming and would have never guessed the perpetrator. It's shocking! This book is a solid 5-star read for me! I guess it's time for me to pick up the other Holly Jackson books I have on my shelves!
Thank you NetGalley, Ballantine, and Holly Jackson for this ARC!

Wow!!!!! What a ride!!!! This book had me on pins and needles until the very end! I thought I figured it all out but nope! And I LOVE a suspense/thriller that I cannot figure out. What I loved about Holley Jackson’s writing is that her book is full of suspense but also humor. I loved Jet and the banter throughout the book. I also loved another character but I do not want to give ANY spoilers because it’s much better that way. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a mix of a suspense/thriller with humor and a romantic undertone.

4.5 stars. This was a solid mystery / thriller from Holly Jackson. I was excited to pick this one up given it was her first foray into adult / first non-YA novel, and I really enjoyed it. The premise of the story is really unique - Jet is the victim of an attempted murder and is given one week to live. In that time, Jet sets out to find her killer with the help of her childhood friend, Billy.
While I did guess the final plot twist / killer, I still really appreciated the journey Holly Jackson took us on. There was very solid pacing, and I was gripped and engaged the entire time. I guessed the killer, but there was a much broader family drama taking place and the mystery around what would really happen to Jet that unravels nicely in true Holly Jackson fashion.
One of my favorite parts of the story was the relationship between Jet and Billy. It was surprisingly very emotional, and I felt very attached to the characters throughout the story. Billy’s character was amazing, and Jet’s character was essentially an adult version of Bel’s character from the Reappearance of Rachel Price - she comes across as daring, brash, rude and not really caring what people think of her. It was interesting because I expected her personality to stem solely from the fact that she was going to die in a week and consequences didn’t matter, but that seemed to be her normal personality. Jet does go on a bit of a personal self-discovery journey over the course of the week which was nice to watch.
Overall, thought this was a great adult debut by Holly Jackson and excited for what’s to come.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like this one when I first started. I thought it was a little dark for my tastes because why do I want to read a book, fall in love with the main character only to know she can’t possibly have a happy ending??
In spite of all of that, Holly Jackson somehow made this dark, heart-breaking story have some of the best dry humor and comedy along with the most tender thoughtful moments I’ve ever read in a thriller. I raced through this book in under 48 hours & I was constantly annotating funny and sweet moments…all while the FMC is slowly dying & trying to solve her murder? 😅
This was definitely a super unique story and it was full of all of the interesting twists and turns you know and love from Holly Jackson. However, my favorite part was Jet. She was such a vibrant character, so funny and at times mean & brash (but who wouldn’t be while coping w/ that fate) and following her and Billy while they go on this journey together & have these small moments of living were the best pieces to this well-crafted roller coaster ride of a murder mystery.

4.5⭐️ Probably my fave Holly Jackson thriller to date! The plot was innovative and kept me on the edge of my seat. So many times throughout this book I thought I had it all figured out and I was wrong up until the very end. Love that in a thriller!! I also adored that the chapters were pretty short, which kept me reading more and more each time I picked this book up. Overall, this was a quick and easy read that never left me bored or struggling to want to pick it up. Would strongly recommend to any psychological thriller fan.
*Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for sharing this eARC with me.

Thank you to NetGallwy and publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this novel.
I love Holly Jackson and she did deliver with her first adult novel.
Jet was brutally attacked and wakes up in the hospital with the knowledge of having only 7 days left to live. Determined to find her killer, she teams up with her childhood best friend Billy.
I loved how snarky and confident Jet was even after being faced with so much in the novel. She is complemented well with Billy who is a softer character.
Overall I loved this I didn’t guess the ending so that always goes right by me.

I love Holly Jackson books. This one says it's for adults, but it read like a YA thriller. Jet is the main character who needs to solve her own murder after a really bad night. This was a good mystery, but like I said, it felt more like a young adult book than an adult one. The main characters, Jet and Billy, seemed more like teenagers than late 20s. And the over-use of the F-word definitely made me think of teenagers. Another fun mystery for Jackson fans to solve! Lots of twists and turns.

this book was freaking addicting!! i love all of holly jackson’s work and i was so excited for her first adult novel. this did not disappoint

Holly Jackson has done it again! What a masterpiece!! I was emotionally invested from the beginning and hooked until the last page. Highly recommend!!!
I will say that the ending was heartbreaking, even though I knew it was coming. I wanted so badly for Jet to defy the odds and not actually die.

Well hot damn. That was one heck of a story! I was really rooting for Jet to find her killer, and loved how Billy was there for her through it all. I cannot believe how devious some of the characters were and the levels they stooped to. This was a fantastic read that I devoured in less than a day. Well done, Holly! Keep em coming!

This book was such a unique thriller!! I really enjoyed Jet and the crime she was trying to solve. I really enjoyed Jet as a character and found her very realistic as well as the other characters in this book. I found the reveal somewhat predictable but not as bad as I thought. Overall, I really enjoyed this and I absolutely love Holly Jackson!!

WOW!!!
This was a great book!! I only give 5 star ratings when a book stays with me and has a last impact- and this was it! The premise of the story was very unique and at first I was a little skeptical on how it would land. But it delivered…and more.
Jet was so greatly written. Her wittiness, sarcasm, and charm were so realistic and I truly loved her scenes. She was funny and twisted and so human. I envied her and her attitude about her fate. I’m not sure many people in her situation would have been able to spend the week that way.
I was a little sad that Reggie didn’t play a bigger role. She clearly loved that animal and it would have been more special if she had brought him to Billy’s house with her. Also, because she was avoiding her parents so much I was surprised she just died in Billy’s arms the way she did. I guess I had thought there was a chance so would make it because she just seemed so untouchable (ironic, I know). Or I assumed she’d have this great reconciliation with her family. But just because I wished for those things didn’t make the book any less great when they didn’t happen. The book was a wonderful surprise! One that broke my heart but was so cleverly written!

Being in the hospital, knowing you’re going to die in a few days, and still trying to figure out who’s trying to kill you—this story hit me hard. The mix of fear, pain, and determination felt raw and honest. The way the character kept pushing, even when everything was against them, made me think about how desperate people get when time runs out. It wasn’t just about the mystery, but about holding on when you feel like letting go.

Holly Jackson's writing is pure genius. I rarely give 5 star reviews but this was IT! This gripping story is about Jet, a 27 year old woman with 7 days to live who teams up with her childhood friend Billy to try to solve her own murder. The twists and turns were shocking, heartbreaking and satisfying. Jet's wit and fearless determination kept me hooked from the beginning. I highly recommend grabbing a cup of coffee and diving right into this one! Available on Tuesday, June 22! Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for gifting me this ARC in exchange for my honest review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #NotQuiteDeadYet #NetGalley

guys I did accidentally read this in one sitting bc I was buddy reading and we were very intrigued.
pros: holly can write a book that is fast paced, addictive and intriguing. there’s always an itch of mystery that has you wanting to reach for the book and devour it all to get to the answers quicker, always with an amazing concept that sounds genuinely so interesting.
cons: so much of this book relied on pre-established facts / relationships that we .. never got to see? I think there was such a heavy reliance on characters who had passed away / moments from childhood but because we only got to hear about it second hand in the current timeline from one POV it made it fall flat. I wish there were multiple POVs or timeline flashbacks, I mean the main character is literally dying- it’s the perfect opportunity for her to reflect on her life and use that to give the other characters depth and a more flushed out development.
I don’t think this book was bad, it was fun and easy to read with a bingeable plot- I think the character development and depth was just meh (which is hard when it’s a thriller involving people / their lives yk?)

Thank you to Netgalley for an early copy of one of my most anticipated reads of the year!
The good:
- The concept I thought was brilliant and unique. The timeline was clear from the beginning and I appreciate the explanation of the condition from the start.
- This book was definitely twisty. I was surprised 9/10 times while reading this book.
- I liked the pacing of the narrative, the clues were timed perfectly and each clue felt like I and the characters really had to earn them.
- The voice of Jet was unique from Holly's other characters in my opinion (maybe that was part of the adult part of adult thriller) and I liked her throughout the book.
The loss of a star:
- This reads like a YA thriller, not an adult thriller. I think it lacked depth that good adult thrillers have to their core. The romance aspect also did not help for me personally, that also felt very YA.
Overall, if you like YA thrillers, you'll enjoy this, but if you're looking strictly for an adut thriller, you'll want to look elsewhere.

This is such a unique concept, and Holly Jackson pulled it off so well!
We have Jet, who, at 27, has yet to find herself in a family that seems to know exactly what they want. Always saying she will do something, finish something later.
After a Halloween party thrown by her father's construction company, she is brutally attacked and left for dead in her home. She has run out of laters. She wakes up in the hospital to find she may only have a week to live before an aneurysm ruptures in her brain, and she chooses to use her time to solve her own murder. After all, she is the one with the best motivation to find the killer.
Holly Jackson knows how to make you invested in a story. The family dynamics were crazy, and the twists and turns kept me guessing. I had no idea who the killer was going to be until it was revealed, and that's not even the craziest thing that was revealed during the story. I LOVED Billy. He was such a great guy to pair with Jet as she investigated. And man, even knowing how it was all going to end, it made me emotional!
I thoroughly enjoyed this, and I can't wait to see what Holly Jackson is going to come out with next

I’m not going to lie, I thought I hd this all figured out at the beginning and it wasn’t until the last few pages that I learned that I was very wrong.
Jet is a late 20-something who hasn’t finished anything in her life until she is brutally attacked in her own home and finds out that the attack left her with a fragment in her skull that was going to cause an aneurism that would kill her in a week. Jet finally had a purpose; solving her own murder. I was rooting for Jet the whole time, sure I had the key to what really happened and why. Nope. A 4 1/2 star read from Holly Jackson. I couldn’t put it down!

This is the first "adult" novel from Holly Jackson. I've really enjoyed her YA thrillers, and she did a great job branching off into adult main characters. However, the main character Jet felt a little immature and young, so it wasn't too much of a departure from her other novels.
I really enjoyed this creative take on solving a crime. After Jet was brutally attacked one night, she survives, but with a traumatic brain injury that will ultimately leave her dead. Since she has yet to do anything with her life, she decides she will solve her own murder with the help of her childhood best friend Billy. With nothing to lose, she takes chances most people wouldn't. There were a lot of good characters in the story, although Jet and Billy were my favorite. This book was dark, tragic, and a bit emotional.
