Well everyone, Kaylie Smith has done it again. After how much I absolutely loved the first book, I just had to get my hands on this one, because I knew that I would love this one just as much, if not more. And I was completely correct. Taking a step away from the Phantasma games, we now find ourselves in a game held by the Silver family, where they have to kill each other, and the last one standing, wins the game. After accidentally becoming a part of the games, Genevieve ties herself to Rowin Silver, one of the members of the family, to attempt to survive the games, and free Rowin from the game. The game was basically a glorified hide and seek, with murder, and it was so interesting and unique that I just devoured every word. Even what was happening between each round grabbed my attention and didn't let go.
Genevieve was such a good, strong main character that was able to hold her own, even as she was trying to battle and protect herself against the rest of the Silver Family. Rowin was SUCH a well written character, with a lot of layers and personality. As a couple, there was a bit of build up, due to a pretend marriage between the two, and a lot of tension but the romance was SOOOO good when they finally cracked.
Thank you to Second Sky/Forever, Kaylie Smith, and NetGalley for the eARC of this book. This is my honest review.

I have left this on my TBR for longer than it deserved. I loved Phantasma, but I wasn't sure how Enchantra could recapture the magic. I owe Kaylie Smith an apology because this book was just as good as Phantasma, and in fact better. Smith literally tortures her protagonists, and Genevieve's story is so much darker than I imagined it could be when we met her in Phantasma. She doesn't have Ophelia's intrusive thoughts, and the horror is far more domestic than Phantasma, but the stakes feel even higher. The moment when Vivi enters Enchantra's doors was riveting. Like seriously who are all these people and why are they so stabby?! The humor of their lack of hospitality is endearing, and Vivi's unwavering faith in herself is such a contrast to Ophelia's self-doubt it only makes their sibling dynamic more real.
The games themselves are murderous, basically choosing different rules for a deadly game of hide and seek each round. It is simple, but I was still curious each round what the new rules would be and how Vivi was going to survive despite impossible odds. And the spice here is spicy. Smith killed it with the games, world-building, creating unique characters, and romance. It made me want to reread Phantasma.
Speaking of which, you probably should do that before reading this one because I was unclear at first on a few details I'd forgotten from Phantasma, and it mattered.
There are still unanswered questions at the end, like the rift between one set of twins, but it makes me want to read more from Smith and put more faith in her next time to deliver as promised.
I read both the ebook (thanks for the breakdown of Wraiths at the beginning!) and the audiobook. Laura Horowitz is such a great romantasy reader. I always love listening to her books with her wide range.
Huge thanks to NetGalley and Second Sky for this ARC! I really enjoyed reading this in one day 💖

A wild game where an immortal family plus a mortal in-law must fight to the death to stay out of he'll.
This is the definition of rivals to lovers with a good dose of forced proximity and a marriage of convenience and enough scorching spice to keep you turning the pages.
All of you will love seeing Genevieve's development as she goes from longing to belong to kicking butt and taking names.
The plot twists in this will keep you guessing until the end, and when you think it can't get any spicier, you will spontaneously combust.

First off, it’s been a while since I’ve read Phantasma, but the two books were separated enough that I could make out the details. Kaylie Smith has a beautifully unique way of writing that really captures the readers attention. The paragraphs flow smoothly, the imagery is strong, and the characters seem like old friends.
Genevieve and Rowin have the perfect enemies to lovers trope. While Genevieve is far from the innocent girl many think she is, Rowin is dark, mysterious, and brooding. As soon as he’s introduced in the story, I can already tell they are a perfect match for each other.
As expected, Kaylie Smith gave another incredible game, filled to the brim with devils, otherworldly creatures, and intrigue. The whole idea of Barrington being a familiar to a powerful devil and trying to break free, but ending up cursing his children to play an annual game called the hunt is brilliant.
I found this book somehow to be more mysterious than the first. I’m really looking forward to reading the next installment!!

I was terrified to start this because even if I loved Phantasma, the romance was not my favorite. However, this one blew my mind!
The characters were well thought out and I enjoyed their development. Umbra is my fave side-kick ever and even the villain was interesting to read about.
Great writing and fun plot! Loved that the spice was not as frequent and we got to see a little bit of a slower burn.

This was such a fun read, love the concept, love a shadow daddy, love the romantasy! The storyline was great too!

I didn't think I could possibly enjoy this book as much as Phantasma but I loved it so much more. Genevieve is such a fun character. I had no idea where the twists were going.

I was so excited to read about Genevieve and get a new book! Genevieve was such a fun character in book 1 and I loved her even more in book 2! She's so feisty and sassy. I also loved how moody and broody Rowin was.

An absolutely DELICIOUS read!!! I've loved this series (though these are standalones set in the series) and have become a huge fan of Kaylie's writing and books. I can't wait to read whatever she writes next!

I really enjoyed Enchantra. This book pulled me right back into Kaylie's dark, twisty world, and I loved seeing Genevieve step into the spotlight. The atmosphere was perfectly dark, with gothic estates, deadly trials inspired by childhood games, and the constant threat of danger.
Genevieve was such a fun character to follow, full of sass and determination, and I liked the slow-burn tension between her and Rowin. Their banter and chemistry was chef's kiss 🤌. The Silver family was another highlight, with all their chaos and secrets. The ending felt a bit rushed, and I would have liked more exploration of Genevieve’s powers. But regardless this was still a captivating read with plenty of romance, mystery, and dark magic, didn't disappoint!

I just can’t get enough of this story! So good so mysterious. Just wanna gobble up all the words. I’ll wait for the next book.

The love I have for this book, these characters and this whole world is unparralled.Genevive immediately became a favourite character of mine in Phantasma so I have been so excited to get to this one.
I screamed when I received and arc so massive thank you to Netgalley and readforeverpub and secondskybooks for allowing me to have an early copy.
I devoured this book. Genevive is the most sassy snarky character, I love her and her humour. I love how she doesn’t allow anyone off with the sass especially if they piss her off. She is an absolute baddie and I want to be her best friend.
The banter between Rowin and Genevive was top tier. The tension and the chemistry that had right from the beginning was hot hot hot and I loved watching them slowly learn to trust one another to survive these terrifying games.
The games were excellent. I loved how they were all plays on childhood games but with a dark murdery twist. I loved watching them unfold. The setting of this book was also perfection just like in book one. It was dark, gothic and I loved every second of it. I want to go visit The Silvers property to possibly find my own mysterious man hiding in the shadows.
The Silvers family is the most chaotic family I have ever read. They are the epitome of dysfunctional. It was hilarious to watch them all interact.
This book explores really important topics such as loving yourself, trusting yourself, allowing yourself to open up to others even though you don’t want to be hurt, heartbreak, grief, trauma and so much more. I loved all of these discussions and it was perfect. This book left things a little open ended which makes me believe we may get more books in this world which would be absolute perfection.

After her mother’s passing and surviving Phantasma, Genevieve Grimm receives an invitation to Enchantra. She discovers a mysterious estate in Italy where time stands still, secrets linger, and danger abounds. When she’s pulled into a strange familial competition alongside the enigmatic and dangerously attractive Rowin Silver, she must navigate a deadly game all while pretending to be madly in love. Perfect for fans of dark and slow burn romances, this page turner will keep readers engaged right until the very last chapter.

Enchantra is book 2 in the wicked games series and follows Genevive Grimm (as opposed to her sister) and her encounters with tall dark, and broody Rowin Silver and how they must work together to win the game of Enchantra. I've seen a lot of people say this can be read as an interconnected standalone but I personally would suggest reading it in release order as there are things that happen in the first book that makes characteristics and back story way easier to follow with Genevieve.
This book includes:
- deadly trials
- forced proximity
- arranged marriage/ marriage of convenience
- shadow daddy
- found family (dysfunction family)
- grumpy x sunshine
- touch her and die
- animal companions
for anyone that has read the first book and loved it you know how well Kaylie smith can right deadly trials and this book didn't disappoint, I was concerned that it would be a rinse and repeat of the first book but she managed to create a complete new world and made the trials, as well as the story a unique one.
The second book had way more romance and spice than the first and it was done incredibly well, a ton of tension, lots of twists and plenty of swoon.
The books ending did feel like it was a little on the rushed side but there were lots of little hints within the story about what might be coming up in the next book.
While I really enjoyed the book one of the things that really interested me the most was Genevieve being a spectre and while we saw a little bit of what she could do I would have liked to see a lot more use of her power and potential. That being said I look forward to book three in the series

I think I liked this much more than Phantasma. I liked the story better and it had more mystery. The dialogue was better and overall felt more fleshed out.

Thank you @NetGalley for early access in exchange for an honest review!
Diving back into the amazing wicked games series by Kaylie Smith with a focus on Ophelia’s sister Genevieve, you are immediately drawn into the mystery and magic of the world again!
I loved Phantasma and was dying to read this and it absolutely lived up to and exceeded my expectations! Genevieve becomes a much more well rounded and interesting character than who we saw in Phantasma and seeing her journey through the trials and world of Enchantra was exciting, engaging and so fun!
I loved the side characters and the world that was built as well, overall already one of my favourite reads of 2025!

I know it's been a while since the release, and this is an ARC review, but I had some personal commitments due to which I couldn't read this before release day. That and being a mood reader took me a while to come back to this.
Sadly, Enchantra wasn't as enjoyable as Phantasma, which was one of my top reads of 2024. I'd been eagerly waiting for Genevieve's book to get her story, but this was rather underwhelming and didn't give me the answers I was looking for.
Genevieve Grimm is a specter, but she's always hidden her magic and never truly felt curious to learn more. That was until she entered Phantasma and had to rely on her magic to survive. The experience leaves her with the need to know more about herself and find others similar to her. She finds a lead when she comes across a correspondence between her mother and a mysterious friend—Barrington Silver. Feeling confident that this is her chance to find out more about her mother and, by extension, herself, she reaches out to him and gets an invite to visit.
When she does arrive, however, she's denied entry into the mansion by the owner's son, Rowington Silver. Determined not to leave without getting her answers, she uses her magic to enter Enchantra, not knowing that once she enters, the only way out is to win 'the hunt'—a vicious game of hide-and-seek between the Silver siblings that ends with only one winner. Stuck in Enchantra with no way out but through, her only chance at survival is to team up with Rowin and play the game as a couple.
I didn't really like Genevieve's character. She was fierce, yes, but most of the time she was just being really stubborn for no reason and getting into trouble. I get that she wasn't happy with the situation, but her reaction to everything started getting on my nerves real quick. There's being badass, and then there's being petulant. Vivi was the latter. Also, I get that she had a traumatic experience with her ex, but I didn't feel like it warranted such a visceral reaction from her every time.
Rowington Silver was an okay MMC. There wasn't much about him that made him stand out. Not even his multiple piercings could make him more interesting for me. I did, however, feel bad for him for all that he had to go through during each hunt and the kind of distance it had created between him and his siblings. He felt a lot of guilt and pain for letting his siblings suffer while also feeling helpless and desperate with each failed attempt to find a cure to save his mother.
The rounds of the hunt weren't as challenging and anxiety-inducing as they had been in book one. Vivi and Rowin spent most of their time hiding during the hunt and talking, so it didn't feel as intense as book one.
The romance didn't really work for me given how things had started off between them—the animosity, the forced nuptials, their personalities (mainly Genevieve), and the number of secrets Rowin kept from her. It just didn't seem believable that they fell so deeply in love over the course of one week, especially knowing Genevieve's past experience and how deeply that had impacted her. I did enjoy the spice, which was good but didn't overwhelm the plot. Just sufficient.
The end of the hunt seemed rushed and anticlimactic. I thought there would be a more dramatic and diabolical plan to gain the upper hand over Knox, but that part just seemed hasty and confusing. After everything that Knox had put them all through, I wanted the climax to be more satisfying.
Although the whole idea of Enchantra and 'the hunt' had me excited, especially after reading Phantasma, there were quite a few things that just didn't add up or felt unresolved, which made the whole experience feel underwhelming. I'll get into detail about what felt amiss for me, and there are spoilers, so avoid them if you plan to read this book.
<spoiler>We never get more information regarding Tessie Grimm from Barrington Silver. Given that that was the whole reason behind why Genevieve was writing to him and traveled all the way to meet him. Genevieve wanted to learn why her mother had treated her the way she had growing up. It's also said by Barrington that if Tessie did behave in such a way towards her, it didn't mean she didn't love her, but there must've been a reason that was in play well before she was even born, but this was never elaborated. This feels like a vital revelation for Vivi to know so she could get her closure.
Had Tessie tried to help Barrington with the loopholes in Knox's games? How did they know each other? How close were they for him to be so saddened by her demise? We also never found out how the rest of the Silver family were familiar with Tessie. What role did she play in their lives? What did Grave mean when he said, "Why is our father writing to her again?" Why was that an issue? Their reactions to the news of her death left me just as confused as Vivi about their relationship with her. Why did Vivi not get more answers about her mother from any member of the Silver family?
Why was Rowin seeking Ophelia's help with the matter of the Crimson Rot? What help could she have given him as a necromancer? Was there some lead Rowin wanted her to look into? Was he asking for her help because her mother had also helped him previously in some capacity?
I thought the fact that Vivi declined Knox's offer to give her the cure in exchange for that deal would be brought up later with Rowin, if only to try to pit them against each other and test their bond during the hunt.
Grave was a Void Wraith who could manipulate time in small intervals and was over two and a half centuries old. So when he uses this ability to try to kill Vivi, she somehow escapes him by projecting her magic (whatever that means). He said he's never in all his time seen any specter do that with their magic. Now I have no idea what that means or why it was rare or important because it was never explained, nor was it used in the future chapters during the hunt or against Knox.</spoiler>
I did love the Silver family and their dynamics even as they were forced to be pitted against each other time and time again. Each character was unique in their own way, and I especially loved Sevin and Ellin. These two were my favorite side characters. I can't not mention Umbra. She was just so precious, and her bond with Vivi was just adorable.
I'm not sure if all the other Silver siblings will be getting a book, but I think, given that ending, the next book is about Sevington Silver, so I'm very invested.
Thank you to Kaylie Smith, Second Sky, and Forever Publishing for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

100000/10, Kaylie Smith knows what she's doing when it comes to a dark and spooky paranormal romance...especially when it comes to writing a FMC.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eArc of this book. I got an advance copy of Phantasma, as well, and absolutely loved it but this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. I had a hard time getting invested in the story and feeling that the romance was genuine. It felt like a lot of information was jammed into the very beginning of the book and it didn’t feel organic. Overall, i just felt it was okay and not a wow book for me.

Vivi is just the right amount of smartmouthed and such a troublemaker. Rowin doesn't need to match her energy nor does he try to cage her. He is just proud of her and she is a bright Summer day on the creek.
The family is hilarious and as much as they play the game, they love each other very much. Their traditions are exactly what one could hope to find in a hellish house like Enchantra.
Do yourself a favour and read this book. And if you haven't, read Phantasma too. There won't be any regrets.
