This was so much fun and what a great follow up to booktoks favourite read, Phantasma. I actually think I may have liked this more because of how brash, witty and bold Genevieve is.

This story leaps in head first if I’m honest, and it’s spicy with high stakes. We get introduced to new characters and I am quite happy the epilogue seemed quite open ended so maybe there’s a 3rd book in our future!

Highly recommend for spicy fantasy lovers who enjoyed Caraval and Phantasma.

Where do I start with this review? I suppose it will have to be with an apology. An apology to Ophelia and Salem ... Vivi and Rowan have knocked you off the pedestal and claimed it for themselves. I adored this warring couple.

From the minute they met each other, I was hooked on them just as much as they were on each other. The adult games of hide and seek, where someone must die, were just a side plot to me. I was invested in them. Their cute games of two truths and one lie just melted me. Especially with some of the truths and lies! Then the ending, the twists, I was gasping it couldn't be. The meeting and then the ring, and I was cheering. Cryptic, I know.

Rowan and Genevieve make the ultimate sacrifices for each other, and I had no idea it was going to play out the way it did!!

Gosh, despite being 443 pages long, I felt like I had only read 20. I couldn't believe it was over when it was, I was so absorbed in the book that it made time fly. I mixed read this, part audiobook and then read a tiny bit. But it was worth it. I loved this more than the first (Sorry again, Ophelia,) it was the perfect follow-up. I am itching to get the 3rd book!!

So much to unpack without realising there was at the end of the book. It's going to be fun 3rd one!

Kalylie Smith has cast her enchanting spell on me once more! After being mesmerized by Phantasma, I found myself equally captivated by Enchantra. This story is thrilling, seductive, dark, perilous, magical, and deadly. I was once again transported into the remarkable gothic realm that Kaylie Smith has crafted. I adored the diverse cast of characters, the atmospheric setting (primarily in Italy), the sense of danger, and the lingering hint of romance! This book was just as enjoyable as its predecessor, Phantasma! I loved the gaming aspect set in Rome—what a delightful twist! While the spice wasn’t quite as intense this time, I found the male main character to be more appealing. He was adorned with piercings and tattoos, exuding a brooding charm. The female main character's determination to rediscover her light was incredibly relatable, allowing me to truly connect with her and cheer her on through all her challenges. Overall, a fantastically Fun Read that I cannot wait to talk to friends about!

I want to start off by thanking NetGalley for allowing me to read this advanced reader copy of #Enchantra. I finished it late last night, but needed time to let it all digest and find the correct words to describe what I just read in a matter of 24 hours (split up across 2 days).

If you enjoyed the movie Ready or Not, but wanted more explicit sexual content, then I HIGHLY recommend this book!
In this continuation of Phantasma, we have Genevieve, Ophelia’s younger sister, out in Rome on vacay before Ophelia and Salem join her there. Ophelia made Genevieve a tourism itinerary to enjoy while in Rome but of course Genevieve has other plans. She takes a trip to a place called Enchantra, and once she arrives, everything gets turned upside down, no thanks to her stubbornness and Rowin.

Ohhhh, Rowin. Rowin, Rowin, Rowin. You know, the thing with us bookish girlies is we can’t resist a Shadow Daddy, let’s throw in some shadow style-type tattoos all over his body, a chiseled chest and many tantalizing body piercings. Oh! And let’s not forget about his piercing amber coloured eyes!

Now this book wasn’t nearly as gruesome as Phantasma was, but I can assure you, the spice in this book 🌶️, was anything but lacking! Anything with forced proximity, fake marriage and fighting for your life is gonna make for some amazing sexual tension, am I right? Or am I right?

Look ladies, I can go on and on about how incredible this book was or you can just get ahold of the library or get KU for $10/month and read both of them there. Then you’ll see what I’m talking about.

And they’ll both have you eagerly waiting for the third book 😉

This book was so fun to jump into! I loved the first one, so I already knew I was going to love the second one! The energy was the same as Phantasma, but it was a great new story to jump into.

Broody MMC, FMC that can't stop asking questions? I loved their dynamic so much, they were written so perfectly to compliment each other and the storyline of this book. I was obsessed with this book and I couldn't put it down at all. I need more books like this so Kaylie, please keep writing these interconnected standalones, I am eating them up!

Kaylie Smith…you understood the assignment. I mean how does one follow up Phantasma? A story about a deadly game run by devils set in NOLA with Danny Phantom and a twist.
Oh, easy…you just make the next one about a high-stakes hunt set in a Tuscan villa with a marriage of convenience to pierced & tatted shadow wraith, a hint of fake dating, a lot of piranhas, and a devastating end. 🫠

Enchantra did not disappoint. It had the same level of detail that I adored in Phantasma and MCs were even better. Genevieve was just the sassy, badass bitch I needed in my life rn, while Rowin was the perfect romantic AND they knew how to talk to each other.

The best part though, was the found family. They may be the most dysfunctional group of people I have ever read about, but I loved them. I just wanted to know more about them. So within all of that is where this lost half a star for me. It was in some of the questions that never got answered. But maybe in the next one???

But with that said, I absolutely loved Enchantra and if you enjoyed Phantasma, even half as much as I did, I think you will fall in love with Enchantra too!

I was absolutely thrilled to receive an eArc for "Enchantra“ and I read it within a few days.

The stakes are even higher in "Enchantra" as Genevieve stumbles into the annual games of the Silver family. Cursed by a devil, the siblings must participate in a deadly game of hide and seek, with only one person able to win. The others will be trapped in Hell until the cycle restarts the following year.
To give the mortal Genevieve a chance at survival, she forms an alliance with Rowin Silver, allowing them to compete as a pair. The only catch: they have to fake a relationship and get married. As the siblings hunt each other down and the pair tries to stay alive, enemies slowly turn into lovers.

In contrast to the games in "Phantasma“, this time there’s no option to quit - the competition is ruthless, life-or-death, and mandatory. Consequently, the plot is very intriguing and the storyline gripping. I absolutely love the Silver siblings, and it was simultaneously horrifying and exciting to see them participate in this insidious tradition. The family dynamics and relationships are fascinating, and their banter is great! I particularly grew fond of Sevin and would love to read more about him.

Although, I didn’t connect with Genevieve in the same way as I did with Ophelia in "Phantasma“, I genuinely liked her as a character. She is far from perfect, which, in my opinion, makes her more relatable, especially considering her backstory and young age. She is headstrong, stubborn, and has a quick wit. The banter between her and grumpy Rowin is fantastic.

The first part of the book is a bit slower, and it takes quite a long time for the game to actually begin, but the second half absolutely makes up for that, in my opinion. I was completely glued to the pages, particularly during the final chapters, and couldn’t put the book down.

If you are looking for a spicy enemies-to-lovers romance centered around deadly games between cursed siblings, this is definitely the book for you. I cannot wait to read more by Kaylie Smith!

This one was fine, but I have to say it definitely didn't give me the same energy as Phantasma. I spent the whole book wanting MORE--there was so much attempting to go on, and in the end nothing was fully executed.

While I generally liked Genevive and Rowin's relationship, it felt so underdeveloped. Learning about each other through two truths and a lie is a super cute plot device, but they play the game like...4 times? That's the extent of their "getting to know each other" page. They basically develop a whole relationship based on trauma bonding, and it didn't really work for me.

The idea of The Hunt was also super exciting, but I definitely felt let down--most of the hunt was literally just waiting around in rooms and passing time staring at the ceiling. After the games in Phantasma, I definitely expected more out of each "game" in the hunt, so I was a little disappointed. When we DID get action it was interesting and definitely held my attention, so it's a shame we didn't fully lean into that.

And the ending? Ugh. Don't even get me started. It's incredibly trite and I physically rolled my eyes at the route it took. Were parts of it cute? Sure. Was it overall over the top and random? Absolutely.

Knox and Ubra were definitely the best characters. And honestly, I like every single side character more than either of the two main characters, which isn't great when you're factoring reading a book. I'd rather read a book on every single side character than another one about Vivi and Rowin. They were all far more interesting characters to me.

While I generally enjoyed this one and it was a fast read, I'm definitely considering not reading the third one after this, based on the direction the series is taking.

As much as I loved Phantasma, Kaylie Smith's sequel blows it out of the water. Somehow Enchantra manages to be steamier than it's predecessor and the chemistry is TOP TIER. Absolutely loved it!

This was absolutely fantastic. I absolutely love the hide and seek aspect but make it murderous. I loved that our FMC ViVi was strong, independent and didn’t need no man but Rowin our shadow daddy lifted her.. I loved the new setting in Italy. Although some aspects of Phantasma were there, this was its own unique story. It was absolutely brilliant and a huge 5⭐️ read for me. I can’t thank NetGalley and secondsky enough in receiving this arc. Reviews are up on my socials. This book was such a fun read. It had big shoes to fill and it did so with ease. Lived Enchantra so so much

I WAS WAITING PATIENTLY TO READ ENCHANTRA AND IT DIDNT DISAPPOINT!!!! I had so many ideas in my head of how Genevieve story would go, or what it would consist of…. it even turned out to be better!!!!! I’M a sucker for those books that end up being in arranged marriage but the MC won’t stop saying “MY WIFE”!!!!

The secrets, the drama, and the magic in this book are so fascinating and make the book so much more interesting. The story behind Enchantra is very captivating and once you start reading the book, it captures your attention and makes you want to know more. I really loved how the book was constructed, all the games, and the characters. OBSESSED WITH ROWIN and the siblings. His character is so misunderstood like every MC we get to read, but I couldn’t get enough of him. He’s been trying for so long to save everyone and no one appreciates his efforts. Genevieve is such a strong character and she showed she’s a tough woman like her sister.

I could go on and on about this book but I highly recommend everyone to read it. Thank you NetGalley for providing an ARC .

I thought Phantasma was the spiciest book I had read to date.. but then I read Enchantra! I’m not usually a big fan of spice and this one, like Phantasma, had lots of it. At times it was a bit much for me personally.
I loved the world building, character work, banter and chemistry, and overarching storyline of this book - even more so than the first book. I had initially hoped that a few little plot holes from Phantasma would be explained away in this sequel but this book was all about Ophelia’s sister, Genevieve. (Ophelia and Salem/Blackwell do make an appearance in this book, but the story stays on Genevieve and Rowin’s love story and doesn’t go back to address anything from Phantasma).
The Hunting Games were tons of fun to read about - and I loved the rooms that led to a different setting (desert, meadow of mirrors, etc). The author created worlds within the world and I loved exploring all of it. I adored the Familiars (specifically Umbra) and the relationship that Rowin has, and that Genevieve forms, with Umbra. I love books with the found family element and I’m obsessed with the Silver Family. There was a few little plot holes that I didn’t feel wrapped up in this book - what was Barrington's relationship with Tessie Grimm? And what happened to Barrington? But I feel like this is not the last book that will be written in this series and so perhaps answers to these questions will come in time.

I would recommend this book to an older audience due to the amount of spice/graphic content.

Enchantra took phantasma and threw so much more at me. Genevieve is so fiesty/fiery and sassy in her interactions and doesn't apologise for who she is. She ends up in a game similar to the first book, but this time around she is convinced to marry one of the silvers inhabiting the house who also must partake in the game but are immortal and are fated to play it over and over. Remington silver is alluring, dashing, dark and troubled and him and vivi must work together as a couple to defeat the devil Knox and his party tricks. I actually preferred this to phantasma, its written very well.

Without a doubt, Phantasma is the standout of the series so far. However, Enchantra holds its own, maintaining a steady pace throughout, with a few moments that kept it from being a perfect 5-star read. But that ending?! It sets the stage for the next *hopefully* book(s) in the series in such an exciting way! 👏🏻

What I absolutely loved? The Silver siblings. Sure, they were crass, ruthless, and all trying to kill Genevieve, but who doesn’t love a high-stakes manhunt with a marriage of convenience, AND a dash of devilish intrigue? I couldn’t get enough of it! 🙋🏻‍♀️

What let me down? The manhunt itself. While the stakes were high, it felt underwhelming at times. There was just too much downtime during the hunts, which made the action feel a bit slow. The spice also felt strangely placed at times, breaking the flow. But those letters at the end?! Swoon.

I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to experience Enchantra through both the eARC and audiobook. Being able to switch between the two as needed, and the narrator was excellent! Huge thanks to Bookouture Audio and Second Sky/Forever for this impeccable reading experience.

I didn’t know how or if this was going to compare to Phantasma but wow it lived up to the same level of hype. I was very curious to see where the story was going to go. This definitely has all of the same elements as the first book with haunts, paranormal beings, trials/games, and of course, spicy romance scenes🥵.

I loved Genevieve’s character. I thought she was a strong FMC who didn’t really put up with anybody. She was well-spoken and always stood up for herself. We love a strong female lead🤭.

Rowin was a perfect MMC with shadow powers. One of my all time favorite powers/abilities in a romantasy book. The tension and banter that he had with Genevieve was just perfection!!

Oh this was a fun one! I love this series and the games/devils/wraiths is so fun and different for me! The romance was good and there were some pretty fun twists too!! I was always excited to see where it was going to go.

The FMC is Genevieve, Ophelia’s sister. She is a bad ass and honestly so funny. Rowin the MMC was just okay he did say some really great lines toward the end and he gave her a cute nickname but I could’ve used a little more from him.

I loved the family/found family aspect and some of the side characters were funny and at some points I was underling more of their quotes then the main characters lol (I’m looking at you Sevin)

We didn’t get too much of an explanation of the magic of the devils and wraiths which I wish there was a little bit more. I also wish the hunt was a little bit more differentiated each time. It felt repetitive at times.

I like the way the book wrapped up! It tugged at my heart strings.

I was so looking forward to Enchantra. It has so many of my favorite tropes, forced proximity, marriage of convenience, dislike to lovers, found family. While it was an enjoyable read, and one I recommend to those who enjoyed Phantasma, it did feel somewhat of a let down.

I read Phantasma and adored it, but I'll admit, Genevieve wasn't my favorite character. Actually, I kinda disliked her. Now having read Enchantra and gotten more of her story, she's worn on me. I won't say she's my favorite of the Grimm sisters, but I definitely don't dislike her anymore. She was searching for a place to belong and connect and she found it, even if it was a difficult and lonely journey. Stumbling into a deadly game with devils and demons and being forced to marry someone just to survive didn't really phase Genevieve after the initial shock wore off. Though, she did make choices that had me shaking in frustration, she worked hard to ensure her safety as well as others. You can see she has a big heart and a desire to care for a support those she loves, and even complete strangers. Having her realize that about herself, that's she's a worthy person and deserving of love was beautiful.

Rowin's motivations for winning the games were noble, but we also don't get to see much of them due to Rowin basically just being there to keep Genevieve alive. His entire family is forced to play this game each year in order to get a temporary cure for their mom's deadly illness. He's been searching for a cure on his own each year but isn't having much luck. Regardless, he's determined to continue and Genevieve is his way of doing so. Forcing a marriage and competing together gives him a leg up on his siblings but it still isn't easy.

The relationship between Rowin and Genevieve was hot and cold. They had some good banter, but I often found myself wishing they'd just give in to the other! I will say this of Ms. Smith, she can write some sexual tension!! The heat was there, but I felt the emotional depth was lacking and the relationship bordered on instalove, which I'm not opposed to, but it took a while for me to buy in to the emotional part of the relationship. We eventually get there and then... well, I won't spoil it!

I would have loved to see more interactions between Rowin and his siblings. I get that this is difficult to do since there are 6 of them, but aside from Sevin (I love him and actually hope he gets a book) and Ellin, the others are basically irrelevant, which makes it hard to connect to Rowin's love for his family. The way the book ended, I'm assuming we'll have more from the Silver family and maybe this book acts as an intro to the family and the larger family connection will come later, either way I'd still have appreciated more sibling and parent connections (that weren't them fighting to the death).

Overall, this was an enjoyable read even if it didn't hook me like Phantasma. I'm still looking forward to future books from Ms. Smith and the world she's created which is a lot of fun!

Give me a magical competition, a will they won’t they sexual tension filled partnership and supernatural beings and I’m sold. Enchantra was just as good as Phantasma, maybe better honestly. Vivi was so cool and self assured as well, I loved her as a main character!!!

I absolutely loved this book! I have not read Phantasma yet, but Enchantra works very well as a standalone. I love the conflict and camaraderie between the Silver siblings, and how easily Genevieve finds her place among the game in Enchantra. The slow burn between Genevieve and Rowan is phenomenal! But of course Umbra was the best character :)

Best book boyfriend... Wait, book husband ever. Rowin is absolutely the greatest and his character draws you into the book. Vivi is great too and goes through some good character development. The plot is well written and I just love everything about this series. The book is a second to Phantasma but it can be read alone.
