The hate to love was a fast burn, and damn it was executed SO well -- like how do you even write a deep romance in such a short timeline that well?
It's a marriage of convenience btw, between the MC Genevieve and her love Rowin -- they have to team up and win a paranormal, will-possibly-kill-you game together. The game's rounds were written with a wonderful balance of the game itself (the thrill, the strategy) and of Genevieve and Rowin getting closer coz they're having so many honest and playful conversations during the lulls. Also, there's the cutest fox familiar, I almost melted when it because besties with [REDACTED] 🥲
I guess this is going to be a full fledged series with a different main couple each time? Sign me up!!
-- ty to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy!

Enjoyable dark romantic fantasy. Fans of the first book in the series will likely enjoy this installment as well, but I found the plot to be somewhat lacking in this installment. There were a couple of plot holes, and despite the high stakes setting, I felt the plot lacked excitement because nothing really happened beyond the same repetitive events. That said, the setting makes for a fun ambiance, and some of the side characters were fun.

Aaaahhhh! Enchantra was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it delivered! I love a shadow daddy, and Rowin was to die for. His and Genevieve’s banter kept me invested the whole time and the Hunt was such an interesting concept. I love the idea of essential a game show for Hell. Kaylie Smith became an instant buy author for me after this one.

I wasn’t a fan of Phantasma but I wanted to give Genevieve’s story a chance. Unfortunately I didn't like this one either and think this series isn’t for me. The storyline is very similar to the first book and lacks creativity. The trials were boring and lackluster. Romance was missing tension and chemistry. I think people who loved Phantasma will also like this one, just wasn’t my cup of tea.

3.75⭐ Let me start by saying this was FUN. I mean, it had a lot of things similar to Phantasma and while they didn't bother me in Phantasma, I don't know why in this one: they did. I was constantly rolling my eyes. I mean, WHY do you have a game called THE HUNT but it ends up being hiding in a room waiting for hours because apparently the "hunters" are really bad at this game (even though they've been doing it for decades...) I was expecting more action, fights, running, HUNTING. It did not deliver in that front. It mainly consisted in hiding out in different rooms as an excuse for getting the two main characters in a forced proximity situation to validate the fact that they end up falling in love after 7 days. This being said: I liked the ending. LOVED the side charcaters. I had a good time and while I can reccomend it, I was expecting more.

I had loved the first one and I love the second one as much. It is really original for me. It's intriguing, it's steamy and it's captivating.
I can't say much without spoiling it, except for : read this saga!

After reading Phantasma last year and it being one of my top books of 2024, I was highly anticipating the 2025 release of Enchantra.
This book was a little slow for me; I didn’t fully get into the story until about 40%. I really loved the family element of the Silvers and how they welcomed Genevieve in. I also loved the dynamics between Rowin and Vivi!
The boundaries of The Hunt didn’t make a lot of sense to me and it felt like the “subgames” were made up as the story went on. Things would have flowed just a little bit more easily with a little preface of what the subgames were and what they entailed, but I also appreciate the lack of spoon feeding and the element of showing instead of telling.
The plot twist at the end of this book threw me for a complete loop and had me on the edge of my seat! I was audibly gasping at certain points throughout this book. I’m smelling a Luci sequel and I CAN’T WAIT!
Also as a side note, when Genevieve needs a taxi and the taxi man says something to her in Italian I understood it without translating on my Kindle… thanks @duolingo LOL
Thank you to Kaylie Smith, Forever Pub, and Second Sky for the chance to read and enjoy this advanced copy.

A great sequel to “Phantasma”! I thoroughly enjoyed Genevieve’s story. Some parts were a bit repetitive/similar to Book 1 (trials), but it’s still a great standalone book. There were a lot of formatting errors for the ARC, which did make it difficult to read, but this likely will be fixed for the final version!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Second Sky/Forever for allowing me to read an eARC of this book.
I have been a fan of Kaylie Smith ever since reading Phantasma, and I was so excited to find out this book was coming out and to get my hands on a copy to read! Enchantra is Book 2 of the Wicked Games duology, and is full of morally gray love interests, spunky heroines, some fake dating, enemies-to-lovers, deadly games and lots of secrets. If you love books by Kerri Maniscalco and/or the movie Ready or Not, this book is for you!
The story follows Geneveive, who receives an invitation to go to Italy. But when she arrives at the palace, she is told by the handsome Rowin, the owner's son, to leave and not return. Does Geneveive listen? Of course not. And then Geneveive realizes her mistake, as she is pulled into a deadly family game of Hide and Seek. She and Rowin must work together if she has any hope of escape. It's win or die, and you can trust no one, not even your own heart.
This book (series) will be your next romantasy obsession! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes sark romances and a little bit of spice in their reads. Add this one to your TBR! You won't be disappointed!

"Ready or Not" meets ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART and THRONE OF THE FALLEN in this deliciously dark sequel to PHANTASMA. The stakes were even higher, the vibes even more impeccable, and the romance even steamier. I loved the setting, the whimsical prose, and the twisty high-stakes competition, and I can't wait to see where the series goes next!
Smith is the only writer to match the magic of Stephanie Garber for me but combines that charm with spicy romance and gory dark fantasy plots. The only small gripes I had were that the start was a bit slow and there were a lot of characters to keep track of; while some readers enjoy large casts, it's not my absolutely favorite. 4 stars for this delightful read that I binged in 24 hours!
Thank you to Second Sky Books for providing me with an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

What a spectacular sequal to Phantasma! Enchantra quite possibly surpasses her predecessor in new and devious ways.
This story focuses in on the younger of the two Grimm sisters Genevieve. On a mission to Italy Vivi goes in search of people like her, lead only by letters sent to her dead mother. Instead of finding answers she ends up trapped in another devil's game. Trapped in a house with an Immortal family tasked with killing each other for the entertainment of devil's and demons, Vivi does everything she can to survive even losing hear very heart and soul.
I adored so much about this book. The new angle on the games/ trials. It felt familiar but different enough from Phantasma to not be repetitive. Genevieve has some heavy character development and its lovely to have a FMC who is a regular size. The highly disfunctional family that is the Silvers had me constantly wanting to learn more about them. I am excited that book 3 has been set up, there is so many lose ends left to tie up and answer I need!

Okay where to start ?
The vibes of this were immaculate and I loved every second. It was creepy and dark.
I was a bit disappointed in the so called "game" of this book. It was so boring and not much happened..there wasn't much excitement.
They just ran to a room and played hide and seek the whole time.. not even hide and seek just running to a room and staying there for hours at a time. The whole time Genevieve and Rowan would play the same game which was two truths and a lie and then they would screw. It was so copy and paste every single round.
Genevieve also got hurt nearly every round and was near death to which rowin had to bargain to save her from it. The relationship between them didn't feel very genuine ? It felt forced in my opinion it was strictly a sexual relationship. I cringed at so many parts of the spicy scenes and I just skimmed for most of those parts.
The siblings of the silver family were the highlight of this book especially sevin.. he was my favorite and he had the banter and comedic relief this story needed.
It was also nice to see a cameo of Ophelia and Salem near the end of the book.
Overall I thought this book was ok, I didn't enjoy it as much as phantasma but if you want the vibes this is perfect.
Thank you netgalley for the arc.

I really like Phantasma Book one but I Loved Enchantra. This book had me captivated right from the start. I didn't want to put it down. It is fast paced with constant action and fun entertaining games. There is the perfect amount of spice, laughter and stress. This is hands down one of my favourite books of the year. I love Rowin but I also want mini stories about all the siblings. They would make the perfect novel. Especially Graves. Overall this gave my umbrella Academy meets beast games feels. No one is safe everything maters and everyone has power.

This was a fun follow up to Phantasma, and I must say I think this one is an improvement on the first! The second book follows Ophelia's sister, Genevieve, who has traveled to Rome after receiving an invitation from one of her mother's former acquaintances. Genevieve hopes to find answers about the necromancer bloodline and magic, and what it means for her to have magic as the second (Spare) daughter.
She arrives at an estate at an inopportune time. It turns out her mother's former acquaintance is the familiar of a demon, and that demon forces his 7 immortal children to compete yearly in the Hunt where they fight to the death, except since they are immortal, they are cursed to serve the demon in Hell for the rest of the year until the next Hunt. The familiar accidentally locked his children into this eternal and hellish competition in exchange for medicine for his ailing wife, who is also a demon! Genevieve is trapped on the estate and forced to fight to the death, but since she is mortal the stakes are that much higher for her. She's forced into marriage to one of the familiar's sons, Rowin, because of course there's a marriage "loophole" in the demon's game - if they can both win, they both earn their freedom. Rowin hasn't lost the Hunt in 15 years, but he has ulterior motives and how can Genevieve survive this Ready or Not situation against immortals with magic, deadly enchanted rooms in the estate, and a demon of Hell who wants to watch her suffer?
Overall, this was entertaining. I enjoyed this more than the first one because it was slightly less smut which made the plot better, imo! And this one is clearly setting up for something bigger in the upcoming books. One thing I noticed, however, is that there were some things that were mentioned but kind of just left hanging. Rowin is one of 7 children, and he has a twin, Remi, and they despise each other. Does this get resolved or explored with any serious depth? No! And I fear that the next book will not be following Remi or Rowin but maybe one of the other Silver siblings...who knows. One of the weaknesses from the first book was tying threads together. There are definitely some holes in the plot like the first, although not as bad. Hopefully this improves as the series continues.

Absolutely loved! This was such a fun time. We get trials, a steamy fake dating romance and mystery. Plus it's set in Italy.
I thought the trials were unique and clever. The plot was fast moving and kept me intrigued. The romance was set up well and I really enjoyed the dynamic between Geneveive and Rowin. Their banter was fantastic and their chemistry was off the charts hot. Plus the steamy scenes really delivered *phew*.
If you liked the movie Ready or Not but would like it with a fantasy element, look no further than Enchantra. Readers are gonna devour this one!

This series is genuinely everything. I knew as soon as I read Phantasma that I needed the next installment asap. Rowin is top tier and everything a girl could want. I mean... deadly games always win me over but throw in the estate and the way imagery was used throughout to make things so realistic? Yes please. Genevieve could be frustrating at times lol but hey, I'm not always the smartest either. Enchantra took hold of me and kept me entertained throughout.
This was so different from Phantasma but and I loved both so much. I'm now determined that Kaylie can do no wrong with romantasy.

ALLLLLLL THE FEELINGS 😭🥺 this book was everything. One thing Kaylie will always deliver is banter! The sass in this one is unmatched. I lost count of how many time I choked on my water from some of these lines 😂🤭 and don’t even get me started on all the micro tropes I WAS SAT! (I will keep my review vague until a few weeks after release day ❤️)
I just received the ARC this morning and I already finished!! I am beyond thankful for receiving a copy. If Kaylie writes it I’m going to read it 👏

An entertaining romantasy follow up to Phantasma. At first I was not sure I liked the FMC as much as her sister in the previous novel, but she quickly grew on me. A similar plot line including elements of drama, thriller, fantasy, romance, and mystery. I couldn't put this book down.

BOOM SHAKALAKA YES GODDDDDDD
Plot: 10/10
Vibes: off the charts
I love both Grimm sisters, but I think I especially love Vivi more. Her beautiful portrayal of digging yourself out of your own head and trusting that you have a heart worth fighting for really resonated with me. To see her accept her self worth and strengths was amazing to read.
I’m a SUCKER for marriage of convenience and this was 😋😋😋 Rowington is a down bad man and I love to see it. Seeing both of them come into their own together was also amazing to see.

This book was so good! I loved the concept of this game. I also enjoyed how Genevieve held her own and didn’t fully rely on Rowin the entire time. I really enjoyed my time reading it!
