Phantasma was one of my stand out reads for last year and I have had Enchantra pre-ordered since it became available. Yet when i received an ARC from Netgalley and the author i didn't read it right away- I honestly just didn't want to spoil the sweet experience of the first book if the second wasn't up to par.
However I needn't have worried excessively. While Enchantra had it's flaws, it was a solid 4 star read with engaging characters, a decent plot and wild descriptions.
The FMC, Genevieve, is the sister to Ophelia who we met in Phantasma and, although the books follow on, you don't have to have read the first in order to understand what is going on.
Genevieve is confident in herself, her sexuality and her femininity, which is actually lovely to see in a character, especially one who admits to her voluminous curves with sensual pleasure. She isn't a badass fighter, nor is she a shrinking damsel in distress. She is aware of her limitations and accepts help readily, knowing she is out of her depth.
I genuinely sympathised with her when she went through several horrific episodes, dry-eyed and head held high but it was the state of her hair that drew her to tears. I loved her flaws and her desperate need to trust and be loved and she was such an engaging character that i was really rooting for her.
The male MC Rowin had his charms as well as being one of the most arrogant little s**ts ever. I can see why she often wanted to slap him. But as we got to know him and his motivations and peeked behind the veil, he became a layered and compelling character.
The romantic aspect was delivered at a perfect pace and felt very natural.
The plot was slightly convoluted but held together mostly and the BB was sufficiently threatening to make the risk and danger effective.
Where it lost me slightly was the Hunt itself. It seemed more like a few parlour games with the occasional burst of random horror than something demons would pay money to watch and be entertained by. In fact some of the games seemed to involve sitting in a room for long periods of time- it would be like watching people play hide and seek with no one seeking.
I had hoped that we would have the adrenaline pumping excitement of Phantasma's games and hauntings but this fell short on those and each successive round of the hunt was shorter and much less engaging. It could have benefited from the participants of the game having more impetus to actually try to win as they all seemed pretty apathetic.
I'm assuming the next book might focus on Grave and Luci which would be interesting to see.
Nevertheless I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

I went into Enchantra not knowing what to expect, but honestly? I ended up enjoying it more than Phantasma. Where Phantasma leaned heavily into its abstract visuals and cryptic storytelling, Enchantra felt more grounded while still maintaining that magical, otherworldly vibe. The characters had more depth, the emotional beats just hit harder but it was the atmosphere and pacing that made it truly special. It had just the right mix of mystery, tension, and beauty.
If you liked Phantasma, you'll probably love Enchantra—and if you didn’t, Enchantra might just be the one that wins you over.

Enchantra combines some of my all-time favorite tropes—deadly competition, a marriage of convenience, and a drool-worthy shadow man. Sadly, even with that trifecta, the story didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
Let’s start with what worked: I really enjoyed the Silver siblings. Their dynamic was a fascinating mix of camaraderie and tension, which added some much-needed depth to the ensemble cast. The setting was another standout. Kaylie Smith absolutely nails atmosphere and aesthetics—the Italian estate, with its hidden passageways and hedge labyrinth, all created a rich, immersive backdrop for the story.
That said, the “deadly” games never truly felt dangerous. Since Genevieve was the only one consistently in jeopardy, the stakes felt oddly low for a premise built on high tension. As for the romance between Genevieve and Rowin, while I was excited about the marriage of convenience setup, the execution left me wanting more. The chemistry just didn’t land, and their emotional connection felt inconsistent at best.
Thank you NetGalley & Second Sky Books for providing me with an ARC copy of this book.

Thank you for the opportunity to read ahead of publication. I really like this series and was not disappointed by this book. I hope there are more books in the series but if not, this was a lovely duology.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Genevieve and Rowin’s story! They had me in a CHOKEHOLD! I personally loved this one better than Phantasma, but each their own. If you love shadow daddies, forced proximity, fake marriage tropes, HEA’s, and some thriller romance then this is for you! I can’t wait to read what Kaylie writes next! ♥️

Enchantra by Kaylie Smith is a thrilling fantasy that had me hooked from the start. Genevieve Grimm, feeling adrift after her sister becomes the head of the family, accepts an invitation to Italy from a mysterious acquaintance of their mother. But when she arrives, the son of the palace's owner, Rowin Silver, slams the door in her face. However, Genevieve isn’t one to follow orders, so she sneaks in and quickly finds herself caught in a dangerous game.
Rowin and his family are playing a high-stakes game of hide and seek, where only one can survive. To escape, Genevieve must join the hunt and team up with Rowin, despite their animosity. The two agree to a fake courtship, but their fake feelings quickly turn real, and Genevieve soon wonders if she’s trapped in more than one game—one of survival and one of the heart.
I loved Genevieve and Rowin’s chemistry and banter, and the tension between them was addicting. The game’s dark stakes and the luxurious, dangerous setting kept me glued to the page. The twist at the end was unexpected, and I couldn’t put the book down.
Overall, Enchantra was a five-star read for me. The characters, plot, and romance were all perfectly executed, and Kaylie Smith has cemented herself as an auto-buy author.

The vibes in this were fun! I liked it about as much as Phantasma; the Ready or Not x Kingdom of the Wicked coded story/characters were quite fun, and the romance was silly of course. I definitely couldn't get past the cringe of it all at times, but it was a fun read to turn my brain off too!

Rowin Silver is teenage Han's ultimate wet dream! istg
Tattoos, piercings, gold eyes, the suits, the abs, the brooding, the dirty mouth *chef's kiss*.
Just perfection.
Not enough MMCs have that sexy emo vibe and I didn't realise how much I needed it until this book. So underrated.
And I'm sorry, forced marriage? Fake Relationship? Shadow daddy? Deadly games? Sibling banter?
Yes, yes and more yes.
It's like Kaylie was like, oh, you liked Phantasma? Well let me turn this up to 11!
Honestly, hugely enjoyed this. Once it kicked off and we were trapped in the house, the whole set up of the Hunt and the games and balls and the spectators and stuff had me hooked. I love as well the idea that the Silver siblings are almost treated like celebrities and they're like loved and admired but they're literally being tortured for entertainment. It's so twisted. And that they have to kill each other? I'm actually amazed that they are as civil as they are to each other tbh, considering they're made to murder each other every year.
I thought the rounds were going to have more games involved but when I thought about it, it would be too similar to Phantasma. Like it would be weird if the same thing happened randomly to both Grimm siblings. I did like the enchanted rooms though, it kinda gave it that Phantasma vibe without doing the same thing again.
I liked as well, Knox being an absolute psycho made the story so unpredicable. He kept changing the goal posts on them and even siblings we thought we'd be okay with would change in an instant.
Geneveive and Rowin's romance didn't feel forced either considering it happened over like a week. I think under the circumstances they were forced to know each other deeply in such a quick span of time and trust each other.
TAKING HER MEMORIES OF ROWIN WAS CRUEL
Like, to me, she ended up okay but I was ruined. How dare you. I hope they had another wedding with Ophelia and Blackwell. Oh, and I love that getting her memories back was a bigger deal than everyone thinks. Like she remembers EVERYTHING.
One thing I noticed though is that there's going to be a third book, which hell yes, I am so here for but also, it doesn't say this in the physical book. It said it at the end of the audiobook but not the book. I found that weird.
Also, having Rowin's little Rowin pierced was a stroke of genius and I can't stop thinking about it.

A hot new bombshell has entered the villa🚨
Genevieve decides to visit the haunted house of her dead mother’s penpal, instead of going on the all expenses paid trip to Europe her brother in law, the prince of hell paid for.
What could go wrong?!
Well I’ll tell you what went right.. Rowin 😮💨😮💨
She accidentally gets trapped in a twisted game the family has to play where they all fight to the death. Nothing like a little sibling bonding. The only problem is, she can’t leave and is going to be hunted. To give her a fighting chance she has to MARRY Mr tall dark and broody so he can try and protect her.
Did she just make a bargain with a devil? Yes. But listen Rowin I’ll marry you without even being under duress and help you murder your siblings once a year for funsies. Because 🥵🥵
Anywho. This is 10/10 so freaking good and I was disappointed it was over. Cannot wait for what Kaylie comes out with next.
Thank you Second Sky and Forever Pub for the chance to read and review this.

Genevieve Grimm has been restless since her sister Ophelia beat Phantasma and became happily coupled up with the Prince of the Devils. When a mysterious invitation to Italy arrives, Genevieve jumps at the chance. Rowin Silver answers the door at the address Genevieve is seeking and tries to send her away. Genevieve has never liked taking orders, though, and sneaks in. What she finds within the palace is nothing like what she expected. Before long, Genevieve and Rowin find themselves married and playing a deadly game with fatal consequences.
Enchantra is book two in the Wicked Games series by Kaylie Smith. I’d highly recommend reading Phantasma first to really immerse yourself in this world.
I had such a fun time reading this! The enemies-to-lovers marriage of convenience was the perfect set-up for tons of spicy chemistry and snappy banter. I loved the relationship between Rowin and Genevieve right from the start.
The game itself made for a real page-turner. I was desperate to see who would emerge victorious. I was shocked time and again by alliances shifting and danger coming from unexpected places!
If you’re a romantasy, dark romance, or spicy romance reader, give this series a try! It’s a wild, entertaining ride.

I didn’t think I could love a book more than Phantasma, and then Kaylie came in with THIS?! And Genevieve and Rowin said “hold my beer.”
From the second they met, these two were utter perfection. Hot as hell (chapter 33 literally had me sweating), but also so sweet and protective of each other. Umbra is officially my favorite furry companion ever, and I’d happily read books about each of Rowin’s ridiculous siblings. The games portion of the Hunt were intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat. I laughed, I cried, I swooned.
And for what it’s worth, I need a third book like I need to breathe.

I had so much freaking fun with this gory horror paranormal book. It feels like throwbacks to some of my favorite OG PR (like A Hunger Like No Other) and is just messy and bloody and has lots of "touch her and die" vibes throughout except the person who touched actually dies. I love the world that Kaylie is building with Phantasma and Enchantra and I cannot wait for book 3!

Did I enjoy this one just as much as book one? Yes absolutely I did. This is one I read and got as an ARC on here that I just had to go get Tuesday for new book release day! Ready or not except it’s a marriage of convenience and now you’re trapped in a competition to the death with your new in-laws. Second… This book was so fun!!!! I loved the games aspect, and it takes place in Rome. The more I think about this book, the more I love it. Kaylie Smith just knows how to write really fun, sexy books. Now, the spice wasn’t as good to me as the spice in Phantasma, but I liked the MMC better in this one. Fans of Phantasma will love Enchantra as well! As I mentioned it has the same dark, deadly, wicked, twisted, and sexy vibe flowing throughout the book. I was never a big fantasy book reader but there are certain authors who have cast their magical spells on me and Kaylie Smith is one of them!

OKAYYYYY...

"I'm a creature of Hell, worshipping is not usually in my nature." Then he lowered himself between her legs and flicked his tongue out to taste her. "But for whatever time you remain in my bed, I will make it your shrine." HELLLLLL YESSSSS
"He touched my wife without permission," he bit out. "I'd have killed him for less than that.
"Nothing is eternal. Except for the fact that you've ruined me.
"Shadows can only be seen in the presence of light," he told her, the words agonized. "I worry when you leave, there will be no one left to see me."
"Love. Loathing. Same passion, different names," he told her. "And how easily and swiftly the line can be blurred, don't you think?"

Omg this book!!! Absolutely ate it up!
And this is coming from someone who absolutely adored Phantasma. Very rarely a second book hits just as hard as the first one in the series, so I was a bit sceptical but oh boy, was I wrong.
I loved every single moment of the book and Genevieve’s journey! I particularly enjoyed how the author was able to create something unique and original while setting in a way that felt coherent with the first book in the series.
Reading avoided the Hunt was brutal but the Silver family dynamics made up for it!
I absolutely love reading about family dynamics and these siblings were certainly entertaining. The family tea was immaculate as well as their devotion to each other.
Genevieve and Rowin were quite the pair! Going from strangers to husband and wife in a matter of hours certainly set the scene for wonderful banter and bickering. Right up my alley.
I loved their budding relationship as well as their personal development throughout the game.
The plot twist took me for a turn in the best way possible.
This was the perfect mix of plot, character dynamics and smut!!
Absolutely one of my favourite reads this year. Highly recommend.

I was so excited to get my hands on the advanced copy of this book. I devoured Phantasma and couldn’t wait to dive into Enchantra. It did not disappoint. This book was so dynamic and fast paced. I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see more from Kaylee Smith in the future. This book was delicious. With lots of tension and fantastic characters. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves some fantasy and a good demon romance.

This was fantastic and so much fun! I couldn't wait to get my hands on this after the first one, and this did not disappoint. This was fast paced and exciting, packed with so many things I love (shadow daddies).

Exactly what I was looking for with a second book! This was spicy and tantalizing and fun. I love the vibes that Kaylie has created for this entire series and the characters are just so perfect. This book is unputdownable. I loved every moment of it.

KAYLIEEEEE. Another master piece!!! Like honestly chef’s kisses. I adored Viví. Like honestly her character was everything I needed her to be- confident, anti damsel need no man, and gorgeous obviously. The characters - The Cursed Silvers - were amazing and made me start hoping for more interactions. I loved the precipice of the Demon reality tv show for the fake horror piece of this novel. I genuinely wish I had more back story for some of the other characters. I loved Rowin, my broody grumpy man was def what I needed in this marriage of convenience to survive our situation. I loved their slow burn and the spice was FUEGO. I loved book 1, but this was amazing!!!
