Faith Fairchild is divorced, heartbroken, and back in Amish country—where her ex lives. She and her sisters, Hope and Elaine, have inherited their aunt’s antique shop, and as part of the will, they are required to work together for a year. This was already hard enough, but their aunt had also contracted Faith’s ex-husband, Trent Lantz, to renovate the shop. Not only is Trent back in Faith’s life, but he’s also in the process of adopting a toddler. Everything Faith had hoped for in her marriage is now staring her in the face.

This book had me laughing, crying, and thinking deeply about what makes a marriage work. It’s everything an excellent book should be.

I appreciated that the English and Amish family members were close and embraced each other as a community. Through this connection, they were able to show each other the pros and cons of both lifestyles. Faith spent much of the story searching for a happiness in marriage that may not have been realistic, which ultimately contributed to her divorce. As she reflects on her failed marriage—and eventually her own shortcomings—she begins to realize all that she lost. I really liked this about Faith. Sometimes people never recognize the part they played in a broken relationship. While Trent reflects as well, it seems he needs more of a direct intervention to acknowledge his role.

The characters throughout the story were rich and well-developed, and it made me so happy to know that another book is coming. I really want to see more of Hope and Elaine—and also Sarah and Eddie. Patricia, can this be a longer series? Please?

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Any story that has an antique shop catches my interest, and author Patricia Johns didn’t let me down with this one.

Divorce is so final. Or is it? What happened that caused the split between Faith and Trent? Well developed characters, I really came to enjoy them. Especially “watching” Trent with little Tyke. He wasn’t interested in fatherhood while married but he is making a great dad with his new little charge.

The sisters are all so different that it added to the enjoyment of the story. While they didn’t always get along, they were there for each other in the hard times. And there were plenty of those.

The mix of Amish family and English family was enjoyable. I appreciated that they loved each other, and took care of each other, no matter who was Amish and who was English. Family matters!

If you enjoy sweet romance with great characters, then I recommend Her Amish Country Husband.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Her Amish Country Husband begins the Amish Antiques Shop series with a romance that reunites Faith and Trent, a couple who were once married, but their reactions to what life tossed at them were so different that they eventually divorced. Now, Faith is back in their small town, along with her sisters, to run the antique shop they inherited for one year. Luck would have it that Trent would be working on the shop’s electrical system to bring it up to code, making avoiding each other impossible. Reliving memories is a daily event. So much remains the same, yet so much has changed, especially for Trent.

I enjoyed Trent and Faith’s story so much. Add in one adorable little toddler, Tyke, and you have the makings of a unique second chance to get love right…If they get out of their own heads and start making choices that bring them together, not apart.

If you enjoy a well-written, emotional romance with a touch of heartache, a glimpse into the Amish world, and a couple that really do belong together, then Her Amish Country Husband by Patricia Johns is perfect for you. We’ll get a bit of a foretelling of the next story in this series as well. I have yet to read a story by Patricia Johns that I didn’t get emotionally caught up in.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Author Patricia Johns gives us a first in a new series with Her Amish Country Husband. Faith Fairchild and her two sisters have inherited their late aunt's antique shop, and it is stipulated these somewhat oil and water sisters run it together for a year. Aunt Josephine treasured family unity. The change in life path is actually a positive for Faith...until she realizes her ex-husband is the electrician contracted to rewire the whole store.
This sweet, clean story isn't just about second change romance. It's about family and forgiveness, learning to listen and to be heard, and of course, love. Plus it has my favorite, an epilogue! I so enjoyed this book, and can't wait for the next in the series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

Her Amish Country Husband by Patricia Johns, book one in An Amish Antiques Shop Romance series, is a heartwarming, second chance romance with a theme of miscommunication. Sisters Faith, Hope and Elaine inherit an antique store from their Aunt Josephine, in their hometown. The catch, they have to work together to run it for a year. This story centers on Faith and her ex-husband Trent. Faith and Trent married young, with their union ended in divorce; mainly due to their lack of communication; especially what they each wanted. Assumptions were made, causing anger and a lack of trust.

Trent was hired by her aunt to update the store’s electrical system; to meet code and reopen. Faith is forced to re-examine her feelings for her ex-husband Trent as they have to work closely the electrical project. Faith is surprised that he is raising his cousin’s little boy named Tyke after her unexpected death; despite not wanting kids right away when they were married. Faith sees what a great job he's doing at raising Tyke. Maybe he has changed since then. The more time they spend together things seem to begin to change. Tyke was so sweet and his scenes were precious.

Trent has a lot of Amish family members, though he is not part of that community, and they were supportive of him as well. Trent’s aunt and uncle shared great wisdom and love for these two, from their own experience with a long, happy marriage. It will take having a long overdue conversation before Faith and Trent will be able to heal from the hurts they bestowed on each other at the end of their marriage and stubbornness took over.

Meeting again, post divorce, led them both on a journey of self discovery and to an open and honest evaluation of what went wrong in their relationship. This brought them closer and ultimately back together. As with most things, it takes a village to heal and grow and in this book there is a village of people lending a hand to make things better. After the ending, I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This book is part of an interconnected series. Best if read in order as the characters overlap throughout the series. They were married before but it fell apart. Now she's back in the area helping her sisters with their aunts store. He's got a contract to replace the electric wiring. He's also the guardian for a toddler. Will they be able to get along? Be prepared for multiple emotions throughout the book and meddling relatives.

Her Amish Country Husband by Patricia Johns
A Clean and Uplifting Romance
(An Amish Antiques Shop Romance Book 1)
An Amish country inheritance…
A second chance to mend her heart!
Faith Fairchild is back in Amish country, running her late aunt’s antiques shop along with her two sisters. Never mind that Faith, Hope and Elaine rarely see eye to eye, or that the electrician rewiring the store is Faith’s ex-husband, Trent Lantz. Now guardian to an adorable toddler named Tyke, Trent has changed from the man Faith once loved, or maybe still does… But Faith hasn’t come home for good, and Trent has to put his son first. Can Faith follow her dreams to the city when she’ll be leaving her heart in Amish country?
This is Faith Fairchild and sisters Hope and Elaine's story.
This is Trent Lantz and Tyke's story.
The three sisters, Faith, Elaine and Hope inherit their aunt Josephine antique shop.
They have to run it together for one year.
Old things seem to hold magic all their own. Like people, the longer they’ve been around, the more wisdom and character they seem to possess, and the more the past seems to cling to them.
“Knock, knock.”
Faith knew that voice, and her stomach sank. Speaking of her failed marriage… She walked toward the front door, propped open with a brick to let some fresh air inside, and her heart clenched in her chest.
Sure enough, she knew the jean-clad man standing in the doorway, a tool belt slung low on his hips. He wore a short-sleeved blue plaid shirt that matched his blue eyes too well. He gave her a nod.
“Faith…” Trent’s blue gaze caught hers, and then he looked down at his scuffed cowboy boots.
“Hi, Trent.”
I recommend reading this book.
Her Amish Country Husband by Patricia Johns is a wonderful well written 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Patricia Johns.

Faith Fairchilld and her sisters Hope and Elaine have inherited the antique shop that their aunt owned. They were there to get the business ready to sell so they could get back to their normal lives as they really are not that close nor desire to keep the shop.

While there, the electrician their aunt and already booked to do work, shows up and it happens to be the former husband of Faith, Terry Lantz, who is now a foster parent to a toddler, Tyke,

Faith plans on returning to the city, and Terry has to put his foster-son first, but will their meeting again change those plans.

This is a heartwarming, second chance romance book that you will love reading. I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book to all lovers of Amish books.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and author. The opinions expressed are my own.

Her Amish Country Husband by Patricia Johns is a heartwarming tale. I enjoyed reading this story. The author has a friendly writing style. I liked the antique shop that the three sisters inherited from their aunt (no way would I have sold the Nancy Drew mysteries that Faith found). The characters were realistic and relatable. Faith and Trent married young and struggled with communication. Miscommunication and a lack of open communication were recurring issues throughout their story. Faith and Trent need a chance to reconnect and discover how they ended up divorced. We get to see that sometimes love is not enough to hold two people together. I like Faith’s sisters, and I am curious about their stories. I enjoyed meeting Trent’s Amish relatives (especially Mammi) and his foster son, Tyke (who is a sweetie). I liked the secondary storyline involving Trent’s English apprentice, Eddie and Trent’s Amish cousin, Sarah. There are good life lessons in the story. Her Amish Country Husband is the first book An Amish Antiques Shop Romance. Her Amish Country Husband is a sweet second chance romance with a will with a special codicil, an electrical overhaul, reconnecting with your ex, a chair search, a treasured Tyke, a distant husband, and distressing news.

Absolutely Wonderful Story

Her Amish Country Husband is an absolutely wonderful read! As I read Faith and Trent's story, I could feel every bit of their struggles, what they had dealt with, and what they were dealing with now. I loved how the other characters were so integral in their story and enhanced it without overshadowing Faith and Trent.

Author Patricia Johns has such a fantastic way of developing her characters that makes the reader completely connect with the story and the characters. It left me feeling heartbroken, but as the story progressed and Faith and Trent spent more time interacting, hope began to replace the heartbreak. This truly is a fantastic story of healing and second chances that will deeply touch your heart.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book. All comments and opinions are entirely my own and voluntary.

The first opening paragraph reads this (and I think it's worth quoting), "'Old things seem to hold magic all their own. Like people, the longer they’ve been around, the more wisdom and character they seem to possess, and the more the past seems to cling to them.'"

What a great story "Her Amish Country Husband" was to read. It was such a page turner that I finished the book wanting more; so I really can't wait for the next one in this series to release!!
Patricia Johns developed realistic, fictional characters with realistic feelings and situations that just about any of us readers can relate to as we read "Her Amish Country Husband".

No truer quote than this one here about heartbreak, "'When a marriage ended, it wasn’t just the complication of cultural differences or the possibility of remarriage. It was a heart that kept on aching, that wouldn’t forget the one man who’d been her everything for a few short years. Some people bounced back. And some people, try as they might to do the rational thing and get over the pain, didn’t. ... But two years later, it still hurt. Heartbreak was never so simple.'"

I highly recommend reading "Her Amish Country Husband" by Patricia Johns. You won't be disappointed.

I received a no money exchanged free copy through NetGalley with the understanding that I would write an honest review and this is my review in my own words.

This was the first novel I think I have read by this author but it was so good! I adored the setting, the characters, and the cozy small town feel. Second chance romances are my favorite and this was no difference. This story made me smile, and giddy for the FMC and MMC. Also Tyke was adorable!

Her Amish Country Husband by Patricia Johns is really well writing, and told in a special way by the unique telling of this tale by author, Patricia Johns. Release day is May 27, 2025.

Having read her books for years, I have never been disappointed in her presentation of a story. Ms. John’s does a great job of bringing in both the English characters and Amish and keeping the story interesting. It moves from sene to sene without losing its’ rhythm.

A important part of the storyline is centered around Faith and her ex-husband Trent. They are forced back together by chance. This is a great storyline, but how could their meeting survive old feelings. The characters are realistic and are loved from beginning to end . What an unique approach to this story. Also, the young, Tyke, is just precious.
This is a sweet second chance romance story.

I recommend this 5-star read enthusiastically.

I was given an ARC by Harlequin - Romance | Harlequin Heartwarming, but was not required to give a positive review.

A sweet Amish romance that follows more than 1 man and woman as they make life decisions. Sometimes when couples come from different worlds it takes a leap of faith. Just as when a divorced couple chooses to try to make it work again.

Enjoyed this book very much. Sweet story and lovely characters. Love how the Amish and English interact so well together. Nice to see that families that have both Amish and English members can still be one family. I did not think this book was in a series, but did feel that I was missing something on the family line of the Amish. If it is in a series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. I am hoping the story line continues on!

Faith and her two sisters are left an Antiques Shop by their great aunt. They meet to organize and straighten things up for reopening which is all well and good, until Faith's ex-husband shows up to do a job her aunt had hired him for. Needless to say things get interesting. Patricia Johns does a great job of bringing in both the English characters and Amish and keeping the story interesting. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it. Thanks to Netgalley, Patricia Johns, and Harlequin Enterprises for the chance to read this book and review.

Patricia Johns always writes amazing books and this one did not disappoint. When three sisters, Faith, Elaine and Hope inherit their aunts antique shop, it comes with a request from their aunt that they have to run it for one year. The storyline is centered around Faith and her ex-husband Trent, who was hired by her aunt to do the electrical work. Throw in Trents cousins little boy Tyke, who he is raising and you have a heartwarming book. Patricia intertwines second chances and forgiveness between the two characters , Faith and Trent along with the support of Faith’s sisters. Will their love be rekindled or will their stubbornness with each other destroy any means of a relationship? I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one.

This book is from the Harlequin Heartwarming Series and is scheduled to be released May 27, 2025. I was given a complimentary copy from Netgalley and the publisher. All words are my own.
