Highly recommend - as an avid tennis player and romance reader, I loved the setting and environment of this one. The characters are fun and likable - I had a good time with them.

Thank you to NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. I appreciate it!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for a review.

Game Point is the sequel to Clean Point and you definitely don’t need to have read the first book to enjoy this one.
Overall, I liked this book but I liked book one a little more.

Thanks for the eARC from Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley!
Game Point is the second book in the Game, Set, and Match series by Meg Jones. This lighthearted sports romance follows Dylan, a character we were introduced to in the first book: Clean Point. The story begins with Dylan’s indecisiveness over whether or not to continue professionally playing tennis. This is also what the Oliver is contemplating. While they are deciding what, if anything, they still want from their sport, we get a fun, slow burn, spicy romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes sports romance.

As someone who knows very little about tennis, I appreciate that I can still understand what is going on during the tennis matches and fully enjoy them! The relationship shifts between the two main characters is so cool to see and makes their love story that much more believable with the slow progression. I think both of the MC’s are so lovable as individuals but I do feel like there were some parts of each character that were not full fleshed out. Will continue to read this series and I look forward to seeing who gets their love story next!

Ok first thing is first, let's start with the fact that i really enjoyed this book. The love story was really cute and heartwarming and I was cheering for the couple the whole time.

Was i lost a bit when she was talking through her matches? Yes but that is also just because I am not a tennis fan... however it did not hinder my ability to read and appreciate the story. I absolutely loveeee friends to lovers, it's really enjoyable and I was so excited to find a sports romance with this trope.

Dylan was an amazing character to read about, she was competitive and aggressive but that never took away from her anxiety or empathy and rationality. It was really fun to see the perspective of a female character who is more "tough" rather than "soft".

Oliver was also a great character. His journey to coaching and seeing him really believe in Dylan was heartwarming. He truly believed in her and wanted to do everything possible to support and motivate her and it was so wholesome to read about.

The relationship between the characters was definitely in the slow burn range and that is another thing I really enjoyed, especially when it came to the publicness of their relationship. Seeing the book talk about the struggles of a female athlete when it come to the double standards was a topic touched upon in a very important and great way.

I would have loved to keep reading about their relationship but it also ended happily and I enjoyed the journey.

I want to thank netgalley and the author for this ebook. The review is my own.
Loved loved this book and am really excited to read the prior book in the series. The whole drama of tennis has not been explored before and this was an exciting foray into that. The tension was palpable and the game interesting and the female lead was my favorite because she was a bit abrasive and ambitious. I also loved a MMC who isnt afaid of said FMC.

All in all, absolutely recommend.

4.5 stars!

I think if you played any kind of competitive sports at any point in your life you will enjoy this read. I also think if you enjoy watching competitive sports, you will enjoy this read. It’s such a great insight into the nature and lives of athletes. I think that might be my favorite part of the book.

I love the trust and friendship Dylan and Oliver built. I did very much enjoy the banter and forced proximity (thin walls and all). Did I wish the romance romanced a little harder? Maybe, yeah. But it wasn’t lacking by any means, and I did root for them both.

Overall, this was such a great read. And it wasn’t just because I read it right after the French Open!

Thank you so much for the ARC!

3.5 rounded up to 4

Dylan has what it takes to make it to a Grand Slam final, but always chokes before she can bring home the trophy. After an injury and particularly spectacular loss, she decides it's time to retire. But Oliver is determined to help her secure that final victory.

I really enjoyed Game Point. I could really relate to Dylan because while I was never a standout athlete, I have always been competitive. There is something about competing just to compete. Don't ask me to explain it, just accept it, and know that Oliver helps Dylan find her way back to the love of competition. Oliver's persistence was my favorite part of the book. From making crazy bets with someone he just met to flying halfway across the world to journaling with a fuzzy pink notebook and unicorn pen, this guy was all in.

This book was a lot deeper than i expected goor a romcom, but nevertheless i loved it! Classic enemies to lovers trope with great characters. Can't wait for Meg's next book!

I’m genuinely sad to be putting this one down because I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately, by the time I reached nearly halfway, I realized I just wasn’t connecting with the story. The characters felt underdeveloped, and there was a general sense of emotional distance that made it hard to stay engaged. It just didn’t work for me, but I know it might for others!

4.25 stars!

Thank you Penguin for the e-ARC of this book! I am a massive tennis fan and also former competitive athlete (in tennis and other sports) so I love seeing the female representation in sports!

This book was such a pleasure to read and a great sequel to Clean Point. The pacing of the novel was much more succinct and kept me engaged throughout the story without relying too much on the previous book. Dylan was such an interesting character in Clean Point, it was great to see her story and growth in this one! Very excited to see how the series develops and to read more by Meg Jones!

Thank you netgalley for the arc of game point in exchange for my honest opinion. Tennis is one of my favorite things. I play tennis daily so when I saw the cover of this book I just knew I had to read it. Bailey is a professional tennis player who is always struggling to finish out a major tournament and win a title. She runs into Oliver Anderson and they make a bet that she can win a major. Oliver ends up retiring from playing tennis and with the influence of a friend decides to become a coach. He flies to Australia and takes Bailey into hiring him as her coach. The couple falls in love and lives happily ever after. Four stars.

Game Point was a friends-to-lovers sports romance with a slow burn so hot that I was glued to the edge of my seat! I thoroughly enjoyed the "will they?, won't they?" and banter volleyed back and forth, true to the tennis theme! I have a soft spot for tennis novels, and Game Point was no exception. I found it thrilling to read about Dylan's journey to the Australian Open and battles with injury, burnout, and mental health. Highly recommend Game Point as a stand-alone novel, but I loved it so much that now I must go back and read the 1st book in the Game, Set, and Match series to see what I missed!

4.5 🌟
Spice: open door
Format: ARC (out 9/9)

I really loved book one so was so excited for this one. I ate this up up! The meet cute was so cute and the friendship they formed from it was amazing. Watching them build that friendship to a point of love gah 🤌 I liked the aspect of him becoming her coach. They had such a strong relationship that it worked. I loveeee when a book has one character indulging in solo time and the other over hears them 🥵 top tier stuff there. I love that Dylan and Scottie also became such great friends after what took place in book one.
I wouldn't say you absolutely have to read the first one, but it definitely helps.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely devoured this book! Oliver and Dylan made feel like I was a tennis athlete. Not only does the book make you feel like you’re the athlete but makes you understand the sport. I loved the banter between Oliver and Dylan, it would make me laugh out loud! This book reminded me of the documentary on Netflix called Break Point, showing you the behind the seasons of the athletes mental health and how it can affect their game! I hope we get to see more of these books by Meg Jones because I have a feeling I’m go to love everyone of them!

A sequel Tennis romance about the mean girl who realizes she was wrong? Dylan wants first place so bad, everyone thinks she’s gonna choke in the finals. Oliver knows she can do it now it’s a matter of making Dylan believe it too.

I love a lot about this book. I think Dylan is by far a more interesting character than Scottie was. I love a mean girl redemption arc. I love so much of the way Dylan is as a person, she wants so bad and is so afraid.

Oliver is equally as interesting, he knows what he wants and he really tries to get it. He knows himself. He wants Dylan to know herself too.

I do think that as a whole this book was lacking just a little. The idea behind everything was so good but I wish the intensity of everything was dialed up a little. I could have used more romance, more agony, more conflict. What was there was great but I could have used more.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC!

I love a good sports romance, and as a tennis player, this was one I was immediately interested in. I will start by saying that I haven't read the first book in this series, which I believe was a detriment, since my understanding of Dylan as a character and her growth would've felt much more satisfying if I had the context from book 1. The first book is now on the top of my TBR list!

Loved the two leads and their character arcs throughout this book, both individually and as a couple. I found Dylan to be a bit more compelling, but I absolutely loved Oliver nonetheless! And of course, their chemistry was top notch.

Overall, I give this book a 4.5. I will be catching up on the first book, and look forward to what's next from Meg Jones!

This author is new to me, but I will be keeping an eye out for anything else they publish. I loved the story and the characters. The pacing of the story was great and the characters were relatable.

Meg jones has done it again! I stayed up binging this.

Oliver being so sexy AND so nice is the ultimate combo. He was exactly what I (and the FMC) needed!!

I won’t spoil anything but………he can get it

I hope we will get another book in this series! I suspect Chloe will be next bc she’s clearly got SOMETHING going on behind the scenes

Firstly, thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an e-ARC of this book. Unfortunately, I will be DNFing it. This book follows Dylan and Oliver as they make a bet to give tennis one last shot. As they rediscover their feelings for their sport, they try to manage their feelings for eachother. The synopsis of this book seemed cute, and I also love a sports romance, especially tennis. But upon reading this book, I couldn’t get connected to the characters, and I just couldn’t get myself to want to read this book. I think this could be a good sports romance for someone who loves a friends-to-lovers with a wager involved. Thanks again to the publisher and NetGalley for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.
