I have had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for the first and second book of this AMAZING sports romance book. Meg Jones has made me fascinated by tennis. I could read every single book Meg Jones creates in this universe.
Admittedly, I’m in the world’s biggest reading slump, so I didn’t absorb myself as thoroughly in this book as I hoped, but it wasn’t because of the quality. This book was so amazing.
Dylan is a great FMC with character development that happens both profoundly and naturally. Oliver’s patience with her, then her acceptance of every part of him gave this couple an authentic feel. They truly belong together from their first conversation. Now, I want Ines’s story!

A perfect sport romance summer read! Meg Jones has an ability to write incredibly relatable and complex female main characters. I loved Bailey, she’s strong and fierce but also deals with anger and disappointment. I loved Clean Point, but I might even prefer Match Point as it was a bit more tied as a story arc. A few less side quests, but in a good way. I’ve never cared about tennis, but this is a vibeeeeee. Definitely will read anything Meg will release in the future, congratulations!

W🎾W! What a great story of the underdog overcoming mental and physical barriers to the final win! I adored both Oliver & Dylan, and the inclusion of so many tennis relationships that explore the complexity of in the court and off the court struggles. If you’re looking for a romantic journey showcasing how two people who really aren’t looking for love outside of their passion for tennis, and then glimpses into the female tennis world, look no further! This was a great read as a former tennis player! 👟🎾💖

This was my first tennis book but it won't be my last tennis book or my last Meg Jones book! This book has great vibes. I love a golden retriever MMC with a kind of black cat FMC and this book delivered. Their chemistry and banter was so good and kept me coming back for more while the undertones of friendship and mental health and stress of being a professional athlete made this book feel fresh. I loved it and will be circling back to read Scotties book soon!

5 stars because Oliver and Dylan truly earned them.
I went into Game Point with sky-high expectations after falling in love with Clean Point, and somehow, Meg Jones managed to exceed them. This book is nothing short of fantastic.
Oliver and Dylan’s story is the kind of romance that wraps around your heart and doesn’t let go. I laughed out loud, I cried more than once, and I finished the last page with that bittersweet feeling you get only from the very best books. Game Point is a comfort read in every sense of the word: warm, emotional, fun, and completely addictive.
And the tennis? Once again, perfectly done. Meg Jones continues to bring the sport to life on the page with a precision and energy that makes every match feel real. As someone who loves tennis, I was thrilled by how authentic and exciting it all felt.
Thank you to HarperCollins and NetGalley for the ARC, I couldn’t have asked for a better reading experience.

So so so good! I loved Dylan and Oliver’s story and loved that we get to see Scottie and Nico still in this sorry as well. First, I always love a good sports romance and though I have zero frame of reference for tennis rules and such 😅, I think the idea of being a professional spots player in an individual sport like tennis and the pressure that puts on a person was a very cool added emotional journey to this story. It added depth and complexity to a character that in the first book in this series I wasn’t totally sure I would want to root for.
The romance of this story had me giggling, kicking my sweet, and swooning. Their sweet tangible care for each other (and the spice) was chef’s kiss! 👌🏼
Such a great second book in this interconnected series! No notes! 🙌🏼

5 stars, absolutely loved this book! As a sports romance lover and a swiftie this one had me again!! I had high hopes as I loved Clean Point so much. Game Point was a heartwarming, tension filled friends to lovers romance that I could not put down. For starters it's a sports romance, who doesn't love a good sports romance?!?! You also get some forced proximity and fantastic slow burn chemistry. All set against the high pressure world of professional tennis.
Meg Jones had me hooked from the first page! I was so invested in Dylan's journey. Her vulnerability, resilience, and quite humor not only made her relatable but also made you want to root for her. Oliver is charming, supportive, and wonderfully patient, which is everything I need in my book boyfriends!! Their friendship is so beautifully drawn, which makes the shift to something deeper feel that much more authentic, emotional and definitely satisfying. The coaching dynamic added just the right touch of intimacy and stakes.
If you loved The Deal by Elle Kennedy or The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams, Game point is an absolute must-read. It's a story about rediscovering passion and falling for the person rooting for you at your side. Meg jones has a gift for crafting emotionally rich, chemistry driven love stories, and this one is easily in my top 5 of the year!

I got my hands on this ARC at the perfect time—right in the middle of Wimbledon—and it couldn’t have been better timed. Game Point is a total treat for tennis lovers. The story leans heavily into the sport, with vivid match scenes, practice dynamics, and a real sense of competition that I really enjoyed. As someone who loves tennis, I appreciated how authentically the game was woven into the plot.
The friends-to-lovers storyline was sweet and engaging, though I found myself wishing there was a bit more romance threaded throughout. Still, the emotional beats landed, and I was rooting for the characters to get their happy ending. I didn’t read the first book in the series, but this absolutely works as a standalone—I never felt lost.
Overall, this was a fun, sporty, summer read that balances ambition, friendship, and just enough slow-burn romance to keep the pages turning. Perfect for fans of contemporary fiction with a strong athletic backdrop.

I'm a total sucker for a sports romance. and it was fun to pick up a tennis one.
Oliver, new retired tennis player turned coach, was the perfect best friend, coach, love interest for elite tennis player Dylan. They both had believable challenges plaguing them and their their banter, teasing, and falling in love was enjoyable to read. That said, the pacing and plot struggles at times. The book slows down in the middle and never really picks up steam. Oliver's struggles aren't properly dealt with and although I love his POV, this is by far Dylan's story. Dylan's external conflicts become repetitive and by the end, the solutions to her struggles felt like the author was checking off a list of what needs to be wrapped up versus it happening in a smoother fashion.
Thank you to the NetGalley, the author, and Avon Publishers for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I finished this book in a day, it was that good. I loved Clean Point and when I saw that secondary antagonist Dylan was the FMC, I was so excited. I love it when a former enemy gets a book in the series.
Dylan is a complex character who struggles with losing in the last match of finals. Oliver, who showed up briefly in Clean Point as one of Nico’s friends, develops a friendship with Dylan before becoming her coach and well…I’m sure you can guess where it goes from there.
I loved both main characters, and Oliver’s golden retriever energy combined with Dylan’s acerbic wit made me kick my feet and giggle. And the plot outside of the romance had me on edge- I really felt the “will she finally win at finals?” tension. And there was no miscommunication or third-act breakup! One of my favorite aspects was the childfree representation! And I don’t mean childfree as the absence of children/pregnancy, but that both characters were up front about not wanting to have children. It’s so rare to see two main characters in a romance be proudly childfree and I love that it played a role in their compatibility.
I highly recommend this whole series and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. I highly recommend reading book 1, Clean Point before reading this one. If you like The DC Stars series by Chelsea Curto, you will absolutely love this series!
Thank you to Harper Collins and NetGalley for the ARC!

Love this one! The second in Meg Jones' Game, Set, and Match series. It is Dylan and Oliver's story. Now, if you read book 1, you may be hesitant to read about Dylan (I get it... truly), but you don't be disappointed.
While this follows Dylan's struggle to finally win her first grand slam and Oliver's attempts to help her, it really is about so much more regarding the lives of elite athletes. As an avid tennis fan (and one currently engrossed in the 2025 Wimbledon coverage), I appreciate how much time Jones takes to emphasize the sport side of the story. Yes, there are some swoony, spicy moments as in many romance stories, but I was also able to enjoy reading about Dylan's matches and get into what her thoughts were not only during the matches but also in pre- and post-match times. I found myself skipping ahead in those chapters to see if she won or not.
So if you love romance and love tennis, this friends-to-lovers story is the one for you.
Be sure to read book one Clean Point first though. 😊 You'll appreciate knowing Nico and Scottie's story.
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reading opportunity!

Amazing book loved the characters abd plot. I couldn't stop reading I stayed up all night. Ii loved the book so much thank you for the arc.

Oliver 🥹🥹🥹 Very cute friends to lovers and coach/athlete story. They really came from a place of friendship when they both needed it and it naturally turned into a relationship with more than friendship

What a beautiful little slow burn. I truly admire the development of both of these characters through the switching narration. I get nervous some times with friends to lovers because that can provide some weird situations but o think this relationship left me enjoying hear both sides of the conversation, primarily thanks to timing.
I really appreciated the desire to keep high stakes for both relationships (platonic, family, and romantic) as well as their careers. There was purpose behind their actions and you could feel the weight of their decisions.
Of course, at some points, I just wanted Dylan to take a break or for Oliver to make a move but it held the tension through the whole book. Certainly a slow burn with some minor spice tossed around when situations permit.

This book is a classic example of a trend in contemporary romance right now: two POVs just to show a man down bad.
(which some people ADORE!!!!)
Oliver’s POV adds nothing to the plot. He doesn’t experience growth, certainly not in the way Dylan does. It just reads like his entire POV is to serve as marketing quotes.
If you’re into that, GREAT! Enjoy the spice and the love story. It’s just not my cup of tea.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

4!
such an enjoyable read. a great follow-up to the first book, clean point, however, can fully be read as a standalone! i do think i enjoyed clean point a bit more but this was still a fun time. i loved the how fiesty the fmc is and how charming and caring the mmc is. their dynamics worked so well together.
i loved the concept of the plot and thought it was executed well. i feel like it lost some momentum in the story from the 20%-60% mark but then it picked right back up.
thank you to NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager for this arc :)

Book Review: Game Point by Meg Jones 🎾💘
If you're a sucker for slow-burn, friends-to-lovers romance with a backdrop of competitive sports, Game Point is your next must-read!
Dylan is a rising pro tennis player who just can’t seem to break into first place, no matter how hard she pushes herself. Enter Oliver—also a former tennis pro, recently divorced, and totally not looking for a relationship… or so he thinks.
Burnt out from the game, Oliver shifts gears into coaching and strikes up a friendship with Dylan through late-night calls and texts while they’re both on the road. Their connection grows stronger, and when Dylan hits a low point in her game, Oliver shows up—not just as a coach, but as the emotional support she didn’t know she needed. When these two end up living under the same roof, the forced proximity brings all those hidden feelings to the surface. 👀💓
The tension is top-tier, the emotional payoff is everything, and the love story feels earned in the best way. Plus, if you're a tennis fan, the behind-the-scenes vibes of the tour life make this even more addicting.
Tropes:
🎾 Friends to Lovers
🏠 Forced Proximity
💔 Divorced MMC who’s not looking for love
📱 Emotional Bonding via Texts & Calls
🔥 Slow Burn
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Add this to your September TBR—especially if you're into emotional, character-driven romances with a strong sports setting.

reading this at the same time as wimbledon is happening was an amazing choice! Loved the friends to lovers and tennis parts!! i loved dylan and oliver so much. didn’t really get the point of the shitty friend

Meg Jones delivers another winning romance with Game Point, a sweet and spicy friends-to-lovers story set during the high-stakes lead-up to the Australian Open. When tennis pro Dylan Bailey decides to quit after yet another Grand Slam loss, her longtime friend (and rival) Oliver Anderson makes her an irresistible bet: one last tournament, with him as her coach. If she still wants out, she gets his US Open trophy.
What follows is a slow-burn, emotionally charged story of rediscovery—of passion, purpose, and love. Dylan’s battle with burnout feels honest and raw, while Oliver’s quiet support and simmering attraction make for perfect romantic tension. Their chemistry grows alongside mutual respect, with every rally—on and off the court—raising the emotional stakes.
With just the right mix of sports, heart, and heat, Game Point is a satisfying, swoony read that hits all the right marks.

Game Point, a 5 star read, from Meg Jones is an enjoyable read. We meet Dylan (FMM) as she is struggling to win a Grand Slam due to crashing out in the finals match. In comes, Oliver (MMC), another pro-tennis player who wants to help her win. Their friendship is filled with amazing witty banter and sarcasm and made me laugh so much. The supporting characters are also equally amazing and this book was spicy and so much fun to read. I did get annoyed with Dylan’s attitude in the beginning of the book but her character growth is fantastic. I highly recommend this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
