I loved this deeper look into the relationship of humans and fairies we got from this volume. Lucia has so much weighing on her now! Modeus continues to be a bright, supporting light in this story. I love their interactions together so much. The addition of Lord Ricon to the story has me very worried for the safety of Lucia and Modeus. He was a shifty character that no one seemed to like. This volume left me so stressed out at the end! The next one is going to start off with a bang. I love the bonus chapter of Baynard and Peres each volume has had. It helped as a mini palate cleanser for this book especially. I can't wait to read the next one!

Okay, we need the next volume ASAP—this cliffhanger is cliffhangin’ way too hard. Jokes aside, the series just keeps getting better. I'm absolutely loving Lucia and Modeus, and I can't wait to see how things develop between them!

Loved this just as I loved the first two books. Leaves on a cliffhanger and adds an extra bonus chapter at the end! Was very happy to see that.

I just love this series. The art is so good. I love the characters. The world is so fascinating to me

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an early e-arc. Wow this series in incredible and my current fixation. I love the hints of where this storyline is going and I can’t wait to get my hands on volume 4!

After visiting an illegal market, Lucia learns that she’s been living a very sheltered life. She also learns a secret that begins to unravel her past. With her newfound knowledge, she begins to feel extremely unsafe within the castle and around those she knows and loves. Amidst it all Modeus is a pillar for Lucia though behind those glowing eyes he’s beginning to process a plethora of new emotions that he isn’t quite sure what to make of.
.
What an emotional novel! Lucia faces several truths I don’t think she was quite ready for, but who ever is? I feel like this is all leading to a huge peak and the ending of this volume is looking like a big thing is happening soon.

As always, I enjoyed the beautiful artwork of this manga.
I look forward to reading the rest of this series

4 stars - It was really good
This volume contains chapters 39-51 of the webtoon comic. A bonus chapter featuring the continuation of Baynard and peres’ story is also included at the end.
This volume picks up right where the previous one ended. Lucia is at an illegal market on the outskirts of the kingdom to learn more about fairies and the war. She learns that she has been living in ignorance about what the fairy’s have been dealing with. The elves that she has seen humans have as servants and laborers are actually just faeries who have had their wings forcibly removed.
This discovery shocks and changes everything for Lucia. She struggles to act like everything is normal now and go about her duties as a lady in waiting and in-training mage. This becomes even harder when the king’s uncle Ricon, who has been dealing with the war, returns to the castle and seems interested in Lucia.
Like the previous volumes, I was instantly hooked to Lucia and Modeus’ story. I have really enjoyed the progression of reveals and learning more about this world of humans and faeries. After this cliffhanger of an ending, I am really excited to get my hands on the next volume and find out what will happen to Lucia, especially since we are finally getting to see some of her past.
TW: genocide; torture; slavery;

I am DYING waiting for the next volume! It seems the more we learn the more Lucia's world falls apart. I'm obsessed with how themes of racism, friendship, family, and more all tie together in this creative and beautiful novel.

This has been my least favorite edition of the series. Normally, Purpah is good at telling the story through imagery and action, but the long expositions in this one killed the story. I am perfectly okay with the plot that was explained, I just wish the delivery was better.
I didn't identify with Lucia as much in this one as I have in the first two volumes. As always though, I am a Modeus stan through and through. I'm excited for book four, but as always, I wish this were a fiction book that I could devour in a few hours!

Suitor Armor is becoming one of my favorite cozy graphic novel series.
In this next installment, we learn the history of war between the fairies and humans. Lucia is distraught, feeling the heavy weight of guilt for not knowing that her people were suffering through a centuries betrayal. Anxieties rise as King Reimund's uncle, Lord Ricon, pays a visit to his nephew, bringing with him two enslaved elves (former fairies with their wings cut off), unsteadying Lucia. At a ball, tensions boil up to the surface and spills over when Kirsi forbids Lucia from having Modeus as her guard. We are left with one of the BIGGEST cliffhangers as of yet, wondering the fate of Lucia: will her secret finally be revealed or will she make a timely escape?
Purpah's captivating storytelling and art make this such a fun and engaging read! Emotions are perfectly captured in the illustrations, making me feel what Lucia is feeling. This volume was ridden with the weight of guilt, anxiety, and lonliness. But there were also glimpses of tenderness shown through Modeus and his love (I'm calling it that since it has not been revealed just yet) for Lucia.
I need the next volume IMMEDIATELY please!

This was yet again a great, intriguing entry in this series. I read through this in a sitting, unable to stop, and gave it a solid 4/5. That is the same rating I gave the first volume, while the second was a perfect 5/5 in my opinion. My drawback here came with V and Ricon, who unfortunately weren't the MOST intriguing characters. I will say, my heart twinged for V, and I definitely preferred their scenes. Their introduction just lacked in emotionality for me, so I struggled to fully connect, but they proved to be interesting, dynamic, and deserving of sympathy. I appreciate the background they provided for Lucia and the reader, and felt it was delivered in a mostly natural way. They didn't quite stack up to the other side characters- the best examples being Baynard, Peres, and Reimund, who I love very much- but I'm glad for the plot advancement they provided.
Ricon is a caricature of evil. His scenes didn't show as much depth or dynamic characterization as I've grown accustomed to, so I couldn't help but to feel let down. He was just okay, embodying a Big Bad rather than someone complex I want to know more about. Purpah often sucks me in so thoroughly with their side stories, as they did with Quinn in Volume 2, so I may change my mind when his story continues. I did start liking Norrix a bit better in this volume, appreciating his multi-faceted nature in comparison to other humans. While I am an adorer of Modeus and his relationship with Lucia, I can sympathize with Norrix and understand his position. Purpah has evolved all their characters thus far and made me care for them more as the story goes on, so I'm not too concerned about Ricon's portrayal here.
Referring back to the beginning of this volume with V, the artistic choices really impressed me. The Fay history they conveyed was drawn in a simplified manner that felt historical. They would not feel out of place in an old book found in the world of Suitor Armor. I think Purpah's art style actually made that section more believable and impactful. I also particularly loved their artistic handling of the large crowd that gathered at the castle. Purpah managed to simplify countless people while maintaining individuality for each of them, and their more distanced shots of the crowd were gorgeous.
This volume is indeed quite a bit darker in tone than the preceding two, but it feels an appropriate time for Lucia to be exposed to her peoples' truth and the horrors they continue to undergo. She was so insulated as to be idealistic and naive, and this volume was an awakening for her. I will not dive further into it for fear of spoilers, but her evolution and the cliffhanger ending have me so antsy for Volume 4. The sweet, MUCH more lighthearted bonus chapter was very welcome, though, and the characters it includes always make my heart happy. If this entry is tough to get through, know there is an adorable side story waiting for you at the end once again.
A huge thank you to Ten Speed Graphic (Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press) and Netgalley for the chance to read Suitor Armor. I received an early read of this ARC, but all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Is volume 4 out now? 😭 That cliffhanger was so mean. And yes, I know I could always read it on Webtoon, but with how behind I am on everything with that app... I'm admittedly a bit afraid to try to get back on it 🤣
But this continues to be so good! I loved the new lore with the elves (well, by loved, I mean it broke my heart), and Lucia's world continues to crumble 😢 She's been through enough revelations already, book! There's also so many different tensions going on between the characters, and we meet a new one that I'd LOVE to introduce to the sharp end of a spear 🙂🙂🙂 Can't wait for more from this story!

I'm always so excited to see webcomics I love being turned into books! This one was definitely dark compared to a lot of the other chapters, but everything was handled very well. The additional story at the end was super cute and very wholesome.

My daughter screamed with joy when she saw that we were granted an early viewing of the next book in the Suitor Armor series. She has read theses books over and over. They have the great manga style she loves while keeping it age appropriate. That’s such a thought combination to find, so Suitor Armor is major win for our family.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I will never stop complimenting the artwork it is gorgeous, storyline is fantastic and can't wait for the next!
Lucia is finally figuring out the truth about fairies and humans and she is shocked to find out that most of what she has been told are lies. Fairies aren't the problem but their treatment by humans. She is learning who the real villains are while trying to keep up her disguise to keep herself safe. This is causing a strain on her and Kirsi's relationship.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy.
Once again Modeua and Lucia are making waves. Lucia learns more about her origins and it changes how she views the world. And Modeus learns more about how he feels for Lucia. But then the king's uncle shows up being creepy. There's a ball and a cliffhanger.

I came in on number 3 not reading the first two. I was easily into the story by page 4 and i am, and will forever be ready and waiting for vol 4. This was a nice take on a (unfortunate) classic feeling of not belonging. Plus super timely with it being about the fae. which i'm a big sucker for as well :) loved it! Can't wait to keep reading the rest of this story!

I've read every volume of this series in one sitting. The artwork is beautiful, the characters are varied and complex, and the plotline is fast-paced. I can't get enough of this series!

Thank you to netGalley and Ten Speed Press for the advanced eARC.
Following up from Volume 2, Suitor Armor Volume 3 deals with the darker implications of being a fairy in hiding, and the reality of what elves are in this world. Lucia spends the volume understanding how much danger she is in, and how powerful/powerless she is based on her role and her knowledge of the world. Even so, she is working on evolving and changing as a dynamic character, though those changes are not as expected from the people around her.
As a longtime follower of this series, the printed version of this volume is just as wonderful as volume 2, and translates very well from a scrolling version to standard comic pages. It ended on a cliffhanger as the last, but it just leaves the audience excited to see what comes next (which I believe is the season finale).
