Cute comic style book for beginner readers. However, the “read read read” or “whisper whisper” “ahem” kind of words can be a bit confusing for those learning to read, especially in a narrative like this where it’s two individuals having a conversation. Even reading this to my daughter she was confused why I was reading “read.” It just missed the marked for me here.
Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for an electronic copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a cute book and one I'd recommend to read to a child when they are getting into reading to encourage them to read to you :)

This was such a sweet story about the character’s reluctance to read out loud. I loved how supportive the other character was and the message that it’s okay to mess up sometimes or not know how to pronounce certain words! I did find it to be a little repetitive though. Overall a cute read!

This book is a sweet little book great for reluctant readers. It encapsulates the experience of reading with a reader who may struggle or just not feel confident. The book handles with this with compassion and understanding in such a positive way.

Super cute book focusing on the fear of reading aloud. I would have loved to have something like this as a child, as I always struggled to feel confident reeding in front of my peers. The illustrations are adorable and I like the size and quantity of text on the page.

I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing my children and myself the privilege of being allowed to read this book.
This was a very cute book. My boys thought the pictures were cute, and they enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the very beautiful pictures, this would make a fantastic book for babies to age 4. Despite its context of reminding children that reading can be fun, this book seems to try a little too hard to be like Mo Willems 'Elephant and Piggie" series. It does a good job of reminding everyone that reading is fun however it gets taken over by the trying to point that out and make it silly by using the word "read" in place of actual words. Basic regular simple words could have been used in place of that and this would have worked flawlessly for older kids. But because it didn't I would say this works for those 4 and under far much more.
Thank you very much again for allowing us the opportunity to read this book again my boys and I enjoyed it!

"I Read the Book" by Meggy Finn is a cute read! It really hits home for anyone who's ever been nervous about reading out loud. The way the main character faces her fears is relatable. It’s a cute story that shows how facing challenges can lead to confidence. Perfect for kids who need a little encouragement!

This was an adorable picture book encouraging reading out loud giving our little character confidence to try. This was exactly how I encouraged my son to read when young.

This was a cute way for my kids to practice their fluid reading! The language was accessible and easy to understand.

I Read the Book! is a cute story about overcoming the fear to read. Intended for toddlers or young first readers, it encourages kids to be able to read aloud. Sometimes it felt repetitive on the title sentence.

“I Read the Book” is an adorably illustrated story about kindness, bravery, and reading. The characters look cute and friendly. It is a very short story told in speech bubbles, so it reads a bit like a comic. This makes it not only good for very young kids who focus more on the pictures anyway but also ideal for first readers.
A heartwarming little book to share with your equally heartwarming little one. My toddler enjoyed it.

This was such a cute little read! Very easy reads for my 6 year old to read. The story also encouraged him to read more, even when he wasn’t sure of words. I loved reading this together and very glad the story was encouraging to him. The illustrations were very cute and colored brightly, which he loved!

A big thanks to the author, Meggy Finn, the publisher, BooksGoSocial, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the children's book I Read the Book. I will share my review to Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble as well. This is a very cute children's book with a heartwarming message that will be enjoyed by many children. The message of kindness is always much appreciated and needed, no matter where a child is from. The characters are cute and the illustrations are engaging. Would definitely recommend this to children who need some help with self-confidence and making big choices, even if mistakes are possible. Thanks again!

A fun book for the wee ones to let them know that they can read. Easy, simple, motivating, well written and illustrated, it is appropriate for the initial, hesitant reader. Encouraging words, indeed.

A little cat is afraid to read aloud, but a fox helps her overcome this fear.
A very sweet and humorous story with beautiful illustrations! This book is not only about overcoming insecurity but also about friendship and the importance of supporting one another.
My daughter is currently learning to read, so this book came in handy. She listened to the story with great enthusiasm and even read some words on her own.

This is story about Lightning the fox and Kit-Cat the cat. Lightning is reading and ask Kit-Cat to join him. Kit-Cat comes up with several excuses before admitting that she is worried about reading aloud. Lightning says he will help if she needs it. He encourages her to do it and finally she does. Lightning helps her with one word, but Kit-Cat does it-she reads a whole book aloud.
A sweet book with a great message! I loved the illustrations too. I think my first graders can understand how Kit-Cat feels.

This is a very cute, simply written book about reading with a friend. When they get comfortable, they can finally do it! Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

The book was beautifully written. Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it. Thank you for this advance reading copy!

I want to start off by saying that the artwork in this book is so cute and the expressions are even cuter. The two characters, Kit-Kit and Lightning start reading together but the fox doesn't understand cat-speak. The cat seems to struggle to read but it turns out that it is scared to read out loud. The fox then helps the cat with words and how to say them
