I just read this book with my little niece, and her eyes lit up at the illustrations. The artwork truly captivates young readers with the cute kitten and fox. The story's message about encouraging kids to not feel shy and to be open to reading, no matter their level, shines through beautifully, making it great for inspiring kids to read. I love how the kitten overcomes many obstacles to finally feel inspired and safe enough to read.
However, while some repetition in children's books is valuable for learning and retention, I found the word read a bit too repetitive.
Despite this very minor drawback, the book still kept my niece engaged throughout our reading session, and the visual storytelling more than made up for the simplified dialogue. The illustrations alone tell a good story.

A beautifully illustrated book about friendship and facing your fears.
Kit-cat is afraid to read outloud in case she reads a word wrong. Her friend Lighting is there to encourage her to face her fears as they will always be there to help them .
A very positive story one that I would share with my grandchildren.

A wonderfully illustrated book that teaches children to overcome their fear of reading out loud.

This is ideal for parents starting their children on reading and is a useful resource for helping more introverted children.

I loved it and would happily recommend it to both parents and teachers alike.

This was a very cute, short story about 2 friends: Lightning the fox and Kit-Cat the cat. Lightning loves to read, so when one day Kit-Cat brings it to Lightnings attention that he would like to learn how to read, Lightning is eager to help. Although there are a few obstacles: Kit-Cat procrastinating reading because he’s nervous he’ll pronounce a word wrong or not know what a word means; Lightning encourages him to keep going no matter what! Lightning inspires Kit Cat to be more confident in his reading abilities and assures him that he will be there to help if he makes a mistake. Overall I found this to be a very heartfelt book about friendship and helping others who are struggling to find their confidence.
