A lovely book about self discovery after the death of a spouse. It was a fun mother and daughter trip to Greece where the main character was basking in the gloriousness of the area while dealing with her husbands death, 2 years ago. She explores her feeling and tries to figure out where to go and what to do with her life when she returns home to Canada. I thought I knew how it would end but was surprised by a twist near the end. This is a fun beach read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

A heartwarming and beautiful story of second chances after losing someone you love.
I loved the relationship between Catelyn and her mother, it made me smile and laugh.
Thank you NetGalley and to the publisher Bookouture for a beautiful book.

The death of her husband leaves Carolyn bereft
She's unsure now what to do now he's left.
However, he promised that should he die
He'd send someone to love, or at least he would try!
Getting away from the past,
Looking forward at last
Maybe a holiday
Will show her the way?
A summer in Greece, could his promises come true?
Can she at least learn to live anew?
New possibilities, will one prove the best?
A heartwarming read putting his promise to the test!
New admirers, fresh starts,
Can time help to heal broken hearts?
Can she finally be open to taking a chance
And possibly discovering a new romance?
A heartwarming story, with plenty of sun,
Of life after loss and what can be done.
Finding a way to recover and more
As life after loss and opportunities to explore.
For my copy of this moving book I say thank you
As I share with you this, my honest review.

I just wish that more happened in this book. It also wasn’t quite the storyline I was expecting and so reading about someone’s grief when I thought I would be reading about a second chance romance coloured my view. The book ended nicely but I just found myself wishing something would happen in the middle that would keep me interested.

A simple, easy-to-read, second chance romance.
Catelyn lost her husband Jonathan and needed to pul herself from grief. She went to Greece with her mother for a relaxing escape. The book is about her life as she tries to move on. She is constantly remembering her time with her husband throughout the book and comparing others with him. There are some wonderful and hilarious situation, and her banter with her motherwas fun. Finally, at last, she found her second chance at love. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

Catelyn lost her husband unexpectedly. He'd always told her if he died before her, he'd send her someone to love. Atruggling with Greece, she receives an unexpected plane trip. Is a trip to Greece with her mother the fresh start she needs?
This was an interesting read. I loved the characters, especially the relationship she had with her mom and her best friend. It was a beautiful story of great love and great loss, with some twists and turns along the way.
Thanks @bookouture, @netgalley, and the author for this arc.

I jumped on this one because it was set in Greece. Greece is one of my favorite settings in books. It’s my biggest bucket list vacation location so I always want to read about it.
Cate struggles after tragically losing her husband. She leans on her mom a lot (the only family she has) and they go on holiday to Greece. She’s looking for a miracle cure to her grief. Whether or not Greece is it, the trip gives her time to figure out what she wants out of her life.
I was able to read this all in one day. It was a quick read.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC of this book.

Catelyn, unexpectedly losing her husband, struggles to cope with her overwhelming grief. Her late husband had promised her that if he died, he would send her someone to love. When she takes an unplanned trip to Greece, it may be the escape she needs.
Catelyn manages to unplug from her life and immerse herself in the tranquility of Greece. Spending her days by the beautiful blue sea, she never expected to meet a handsome stranger. This encounter reminds her of her husband’s last promise.
“Beneath Greek Skies,” authored by Carol Mason, is a heartwarming and inspiring story that explores the hope of second chances. The author’s vivid descriptions of the Greek Isles transport the reader to a world of beauty and wonder. I could almost see the sun dancing on the sparkling blue sea, and feel the warm sun on my face.
Catelyn is a likable character, and I found myself rooting for her as she grapples with her grief and seeks her place in the world. The twists and turns in the plot are unexpected and kept me engaged throughout the book. “Beneath Greek Skies” evokes a range of emotions and leaves a lasting impression. I devoured it in one sitting and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a captivating and emotional read.

"Can a tragic heartbreak give way to a hopeful future?"
Beneath Greek Skies follows Catelyn and her mother as they take a trip to Greece. Can Catelyn move on from her grief? This had me turning pages until the end. All of the characters in this were interesting and I like the setting of this book. The author did a good job writing this one. It was a heartwarming read that I enjoyed and would recommend to any reader who likes romance. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this read in exchange of my honest review of Beneath Greek Skies by Carol Mason.

I'm reviewing this via NetGalley, as part of a tour with Bookouture.
At just thirty-two years of age, Catelyn is widowed. Her husband, Jonathan, promised her that if anything happened to him, he would send her somebody else to love. When Catelyn and her mum, Vivien, take a trip to Zante, Catelyn wonders if she can begin to move on from her grief.
I found that this book felt like an escape, and it was humorous and heartwarming. Catelyn herself had a sense of humour that I enjoyed, but she talked to the reader in a way that also tugged at my heartstrings. Vivien was an awesome character as well. I enjoyed the bond between Catelyn and Vivien, and the excitement of wondering what was in store for them. This was a romantic read that speaks to second chances, and starting over.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and to the author, for the opportunity to read and review this.

This novel was an enjoyable excursion to the Greek island of Zante. The descriptions of the locale and the residents were highly evocative and enticing. Beyond that, the storyline followed the trope of the young widow grappling with loss and grief after the tragic and unexpected death of her husband. What rescues all this from being cliched is the bit of magic realism woven into the story.
Catelyn’s life is stalled by her grief. When an opportunity presents itself for her to travel, she packs her bags and heads for Greece in the company of her youthful, gorgeous mother. What ensues is a rivalry between the two women for the attention of a handsome businessman, an encounter with an attractive Irishman recovering from a betrayal, and a well-crafted imaginative day of saying goodbye to Catelyn’s deceased spouse.
Overall, the characters were well developed, but I did not feel invested in them. Catelyn’s relationship with her mother, while clearly based in love, was often contentious…and not in a humorous way. It was gratifying to follow her healing process as she realized she did not need to find a new relationship to have a fulfilling life.
My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This review is being posted immediately to my GoodReads account and will be posted on Amazon upon publication.

Catelyn is betwixt and between. The loss of her husband still affects her especially since he told her he would send her someone to love.
I thought she was hung up on that idea and should have figured out what to do with her life.
I did like when she went to Greece and got a good laugh at her experiences with both her mother and Georgios.
Mason kept me guessing who, if any of the men she crossed paths with, she would eventually find happiness with.
It’s a thoughtful read and once Catelyn opened herself up for possibilities Imthink the magic of the future presented itself.

I really enjoyed this uplifting and heartwarming book about love, relationships, grief and healing.
My first time reading this author and I wasn’t disappointed. I couldn’t put it down. It’s full of emotion and laughable moments too. I look forward to reading more from @carolmasonauthor
The story follows Catelyn, who is coming to terms with the sudden death of her husband. She travels to Greece with her mother Vivien, to try and start living again, and maybe find a new love.
It’s beautifully written, emotional, poignant, evocative with a gorgeous setting. The characters are intriguing and well developed.
Definitely recommend this one. An easy hilarious romantic holiday read.
With thanks to #NetGallery @bookouture for an arc of #BeneathGreekSkies in exchange for a honest review.
Book publishes 28 April 2025

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
The story is about Catelyn, who is coming to terms with the death of her husband.
When she receives an offer to go to Greece with her mother and to slowly begin to live again, they go. The story looked into the relationship between Catelyn and her mother as well as loss and what it takes to begin living again.
The two men they met gave a hint of romance.
I recommend this book.

how could a book so full of emotional holds also have my laughing all the way through too!?
this book was scrumptious, delicious and divine in every way youd wish it to be.
a book untimely about love but not just in the romantic way. but also the one between a mother and daughter. which in this case is complex and on a journey itself. but my did i love reading it. the mother in this book is a force. she is determined and courageous in giving her whole heart to life. and she is hilarious.
Catelyn her daughter however is understandably not. infact she is broken and doesnt feel like she will ever mend. this is because she is dealing with the extreme grief of losing the man she felt she would spend her last and forever days with. when he dies she feels her life has died with him. but when a chance and a ticket to Greece comes Catelyn's way it appears her husbands promise to send her someone if she dies might be coming true? is it? well read on to find out.
her mother in the mix on holiday is a complete opposite to her daughter. she is living and loving life. so the two dont half clash. Catelyn feels like the one caring about her mothers safety and whereabouts not the other way round. but can they both heal and learn from eacohter. can some of he mothers bravery give her her own courage back? because through it all its so clear and beautiful to see how much they love eachother and their love story was a joy in itself.
this books was everything i could have asked for and more when i picked it up. i love the relationship and love them spread to the mother daughter angle too. there is nothing like that kind of love. and i was here for it.
oh and of course we are in Greece so come on, added bonus any day of the week.
love this one. love it.

I was totally invested
In this book, the characters and their lives. Such an emotional book
And j felt
I was there

This was not what I thought it was going to be, we had a dual romance plot going on with a mother and daughter looking for love. It's strange to watch that the daughter was very closed off and the mother was open to finding love, with the daughter worrying about her mother while she is out. However, once they get home our main character makes some changes to her life and then she finds her true love. It was very sweet as it shows that everyone is looking for someone

Beneath Greek Skies by Carol Mason is an evocative tale of grief, healing, and self-discovery set against the picturesque backdrop of the Greek island of Zante. The novel follows thirty-two-year-old Catelyn, who is grappling with the sudden loss of her husband. An unexpected opportunity to travel to Greece with her vibrant mother offers her a chance to step out of her sorrow and into a journey of renewal. The narrative delves into complex family dynamics, particularly the nuanced relationship between Catelyn and her mother, adding depth to the storyline. Encounters with intriguing characters, including a handsome businessman and a charismatic Irishman, introduce elements of romance and self-reflection. The novel thoughtfully explores themes of loss, resilience, and the transformative power of new beginnings. Overall, this is a heartwarming and uplifting read, perfect for those seeking an emotional journey in an enchanting setting.

Just finished Beneath the Greek Skies by Carol Mason and... I’m not okay 😭💙
Catelyn’s story is the ultimate emotional getaway — grief, healing, and a mysterious stranger under the golden sun of Zante? YES PLEASE 🇬🇷🌞💔➡️💘 The Greek island vibes were chef’s kiss 🫒🍷🌊 and that unexpected romance? 100% had me kicking my feet and grinning like a fool 😩🥰
It’s heartwarming, soul-soothing, and totally bingeable. If you're into second chances, seaside sunsets, and stories that give you all the feels — this one’s for you 💫💌
