I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

Camellia's adopted mother wants Cam to grow up to be just like her. Problem is, Mom's a seriously wicked witch.
Cam's used to stopping the witch's crazy schemes for world domination. But when the witch summons a demon, he gets loose—and into Devon, the cute new boy at school.
Suddenly Cam's got bigger problems than passing Algebra. Her friends are getting zombiefied. Their dragon is tired of hiding in the RV garage. For being a shy boy-band boy, Devon is sure kissing a bunch of girls. And a phoenix hidden in the school is going to explode on the night of the Halloween Dance.
To stop the demon before he destroys Devon's soul, Cam might have to try a spell of her own. But if she's willing to work spells like the witch...will that mean she's wicked too?

Certainly not the book I expected. Felt a little bit like Sabrina the Teenage Witch meets Scooby Doo.

Camellia was not the protagonist this book needed. She was self-obsessed and more worried about what a boy thought of her than anything else. When he becomes the "demon", it's eye-roll moments nearly every page.

The story, while it seemed to have some merit, just never delivered on the big, bad, end-of-the-world problem that Cam was telling us throughout the book. In fact, the ending was a fizzle that engendered not even the slightest bit of happiness.

Not for me. No I won't read any more of this series.

This is a delightful, quirky little book that reaches out to younger readers. In a charming, humorous voice, 15 year old Camellia or Cam tells the reader the woes of living with a super demanding witch while taking care of a dragon at her basement, trying to learn spells to save mankind. It was a quick and enjoyable read. I would recommend it to my students or my younger sisters.

A fun story about a teen witch, perfect for YA readers of all ages. How on earth is one witch supposed to save the world, fit in at school, and stop a demon turning teenage girls into zombies all while studying for her exams?! So much fun and most definitely being added to my young adult students, reading groups and book clubs!!
