Falling for You Again is a beautifully layered story that blends heartache, humor, and hope in all the right ways. If you've ever had to let go of someone you loved - or found yourself unexpectedly pulled back into their orbit - this one will land hard in the best way.
The emotional depth here is undeniable, exploring how healing rarely moves in a straight line and how love, even when fractured, can still hold incredible beauty. Meli and Aaron’s whirlwind Vegas marriage and the years that follow make for a compelling setup, and their chemistry is undeniable - equal parts flirty banter and lingering ache.
What really stands out is the story’s ability to balance heavier themes like family expectations and emotional scars with moments of levity and charm. It’s not just about romance, but about growth, forgiveness, and finding your way back to both yourself and the people who matter most.
This was one of those reads that tugged at my heart and left me smiling at the end. Thoughtful, fun, and deeply felt - this is second-chance romance done right.
Tropes:
- Second chance romance
- Fake dating
- Found family
- forced proximity
- Dysfunctional families
- friends-to-lovers

Thank you to Booked with the Emilys and Kerry Lonsdale for the gifted copy of Falling for You Again, and the chance to share this delicious romance story of Meli and Aaron, two people who belong together no matter what obstacles are thrown in their path.
Quick Take: Emotional personal journey romance, full of family drama, and furniture.
Blurb: Meli has always dreamed of taking over her uncle Bear's furniture shop - until he announces he will be selling it to a rival furniture company, Savant House. In an attempt to muddy the sale, Meli reconnects with the son of Savant House owners, Aaron... who she just happened to marry in Vegas several years ago. Meli and Aaron each have reason to convince their families of their relationship, but the second chance marriage of convenience becomes more real than either expected.
Quotable: "I promise to stand behind you, stand up for you, and stand up to you."
Mood Reader Guide: complex parental relationship / furniture / career focused / time jumps / single POV / second chance romance / marriage of convenience / forced proximity / ambition / family legacy / manipulative relatives / addiction / Boston
Thoughts: I really enjoyed this and want to try other books by the author! Aaron is sturdy, steady, and stellar as a mature, evolved book boyfriend. Meli goes through a rollercoaster of emotional growth throughout the book. I about lost my mind at her parents and uncle multiple times, but everyone redeemed themselves in some way (the same cannot be said about Aaron's piece of work mother, but we will just hope she had a large piece of furniture fall on her and knock some sense in to her eventually). It took a little bit to sort out the timeline of events in the first half as we flashed back, but readers definitely needed the backstory.
Falling for You Again is available through Kindle Unlimited, and would be a great read for romance lovers.

Thanks to @bookedwiththeemilys @kerrylonsdale @amazonpublishing for the #gifted copy of this book.

Y’all, I could not put this book down. I loved the premise - runaway bride meets a stranger on the plane and after a perfect conversation, they dare to marry for 24 hours… which turns into a magical week together followed by an amicable quickie divorce. Only to reunite 5 years later and, once again, circumstances call for a marriage of convenience with much higher stakes.
My heart went through the wringer - overflowing with joy and love, aching for how Meli and Aaron were treated by their closest family, and the rollercoaster ride of twists and turns along the way. I loved the brief flashbacks to their first time together and how their unlikely friendship set a foundation for so much more. I alternated between the audiobook and text because I had to know what happened next - I could easily see this being made into a movie. Add this one to your TBR because it is seriously so good.

What a delightful second chance romance! As the wife of a woodworker I LOVED the central setting of the work shop and thoroughly enjoyed envisioning the beautiful pieces they created. The whirlwind romance between Meli and Aaron was sweet and I just loved how even with a dysfunctional family Meli has such wonderful friends in her life. Aaron was a classic good guy, just wonderful all around.

I have been loving second chance romance so I was excited to pick this one up. This was such a bingeable read and listen! Not only do we get a second chance romance, we get a marriage of convenience. I loved every single time they called each other wife or husband! The main characters felt flawed and real with a lot of complicated emotions. I loved watching them find their way to each other not just once but twice. Meli and Aaron were easy to root for despite their complicated family and professional relationships. This was my first book by Kerry, but it won’t be my last.

This is a sweet story, about Meli and Aaron falling in love and getting married again. They both come from complicated and disfunctional families and are trying to find their way forward together, in life and business.

I really enjoyed Falling for You Again. Who doesn't love a bit of family drama? The story had just the right mix of heart and humor, and I found myself rooting for Meli and Aaron from the very beginning. There was enough tension to keep the plot engaging, and their chemistry felt real. The family dynamics added depth without slowing the story down. It’s the kind of romance that leaves you smiling at the end. I appreciated that it didn’t feel rushed. It was cozy and very satisfying to read. Perfect for a weekend read! I was also provided with the audiobook for this ARC and loved being able to follow along with both the print book and the audio. It was a great listening experience and definitely worth it.

I loved this romance. Meli and Aaron were both flawed, but they were so easy to root for. It was a great mix of humorous moments between the pair but also had some heavier topics when it came to the families. There were a lot of issues involving family dynamics for both Meli and Aaron. They had different ways of dealing with it and the events caused them to face their problems. I loved how the reader learned about Meli and Aarons history and their connection really shown through. They felt safe around each other even being strangers and it was heartwarming to see. I loved the array of emotions I felt while listening and I highly recommend the audio.

I just started reading ARCs again, and kicked things off with a light-hearted read by Kerry Lonsdale called FALLING FOR YOU AGAIN.
ABOUT THIS BOOK
Artisan woodworker Meli Hynes has spent her life choosing her art over love and relationships. So when her uncle threatens to sell the family business, a wood-crafting furniture shop she always believed would be hers one day, she is willing to do anything—even jump into a marriage of convenience.
But the man she has to marry is no stranger. She and Aaron, heir to the company looking to buy out her family business, embarked on a whirlwind, weeklong marriage when she turned runaway bride and they met on the plane to Vegas. Then they parted ways and never saw each other again, until Meli needs Aaron's help disrupting the deal between their families.
Impetuous decisions leads to quick weddings, but can they escape yet another marriage with their hearts intact?
WHAT I LOVED:
❤️ Both characters are just so hilariously reckless in a leap-before-you-look kind of way, and it's easy to see how things can and will go wrong as they hurl themselves headlong into half-baked plans. Seeing those plans fall apart just adds to the fun of reading this.
❤️ Second-Chance Love + Marriage of Convenience? The book was a fun mix of the two tropes and a fresh take on both, so the romance didn't feel formulaic at all.
❤️ Meli and Aaron are both delightfully messy characters, and I enjoyed Meli's struggle not to sacrifice her art for the sake of a relationship, in spite of or maybe because of the magic that is the two of them together.
❤️ Aaron is so, so sweet, and definitely book boyfriend material. And their bookshop date? I'm going to steal that sometime for my hubby and myself!
WHAT I DIDN'T LOVE:
👎 I would really have appreciated further exploration of Aaron's character development and family drama, as that part of the story seemed kind rushed and disjointed, especially when compared to the amount of closure we got with Meli and the Hynes family.
THOUGHTS
I enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it as a light read perfect to bring on vacation or for a weekend de-stress readathon. The characters are charming yet complicated, their family traumas heartbreaking, yet they find happiness together in the little moments they spend together and, yes, in the all-important HEA.

Who wouldn't want not only a once but a twice unexpected romance and relationship with a love of a lifetime. The trials and tribulations of female protagonist who doesn't seem to be able to have a romance and career at the same time. This book has all the feels plus family drama thrown in. Thank you to Netgalley, Lake Union Publishing and the Author a favorite of mine, Kerry Lonsdale, for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I cannot love this story more. Aaron is swoony. I’m so grateful I got introduced to Kerry’s writing through Booked with the Emilys. The chemistry between Aaron and Meli was visceral. Their banter was top notch. This book evoked all my emotions as I read. I could not put it down and read in less than a day. Both Meli and Aaron had complicated family dynamics that they had to work through that added another layer to the story. Meli and Aaron find solace in their friendship and other relationships to copy with their families. I love a book with found family. I can’t say enough about how much I loved this book. I can’t even put into words how beautiful of a story it was, except to say, pick it up and read it.
It’s a quick read, less than 300 pages and one you won’t want to put down.

Falling for You Again, by Kerry Lonsdale, is a fun, romantic love story, laden with an enormous mountain of family drama. It was a quick read for me. Both main characters have complicated family histories which play out in their relationship. The early chapters of the book briefly reminded me of the old movie, "The Runaway Bride," but quickly moves on from a somewhat ludicrous meet. All of the characters are well-developed, including the supporting "cast." Not for the first time, I was struck by how easy it is to deny yourself happiness out of fear, unaddressed hurt, and misplaced guilt. I rank this as a 3.5, rounded up to 4. Thanks so much to NetGalley and Lake Union Press for the opportunity to read a digital ARC. It was a pleasure.

This is a beautifully written second chance at love where both MCs are battling deep issues involving their parents and the author has skillfully dealt with important topics of addiction, grief and parental pressures in the story making it very realistic and relatable.
Aaron and Meli's chemistry and how they communicated and looked out for the other was endearing.

I forgot how much I enjoyed Kerry Lonsdale books. Her character development is phenomenal. She writes stories about real, flawed people from the heart. Beautiful.

Falling For You Again is a special love story. The connection between the two MCs, Aaron and Meli was truly magnetic. It's a story that will make you believe in love, and give you a glimpse of how alive a life can be with the right partner.
Kerry does an amazing job balancing the deep emotional journey with many lighthearted, and laugh out loud moments that had me giggling. There are also many heart melting, swoony moments that reminded me what pure love looks like.

I was graciously given an early copy of Falling for You Again, by Net Galley. This is a classic “I saw it coming” love story—with a predictable plot and a slow start—but it still managed to be a sweet and enjoyable summer read.
I found that I preferred the audio version over the print; the narration added charm and helped bring the characters to life in a way the text alone didn’t quite capture.
While the outcome was obvious from early on, the journey had its heartwarming moments. If you're looking for a light, easy read for a sunny afternoon, this was a good read.

I love second chance romances and this is a great one to read. If you can do the audio book, it’s even better. The way Meli and Aaron met was crazy, but if you believe in fate bringing them together, then here you go. The concept of appreciating someone’s talent and seeing them thrive was the key thing in this whirlwind romance and, to me, it read a little differently than most of the ones I’ve read in the past. It really felt more heartfelt and deeper in emotion because all Meli wanted to do was continue the family business. Lots of miscommunication and misunderstanding happens throughout the ordeal with her Camil and Aaron’s, whose big company wants to buy out her family’s. This is definitely a recommended book for those looking to have emotional rollercoasters and heartfelt feels.

Falling for You Again is a delightful romance from Kerry Lonsdale. The premise is a little far fetched but that didn’t distract me from the enjoyment of the story. The author weaves some serious themes throughout the book about finding yourself and what truly matters to both of Meli and Aaron. Is it possible to balance both a career you love while giving your all to your marriage? Throw both their crazy families to the mix and it’s the perfect love story to devour. As secrets are revealed both have a better understanding of each other and their pasts. Highly recommend for a lighter summer read. Thank you to Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for an eGalley of this book. All opinions expressed are truly my own. #FallingForYouAgain #KerryLonsdale #NetGalley

This book had me giggling and kicking my feet. Such a fun little romance read. This was my first time reading this author but won't be my last. I loved it. Thank you NetGalley and Publishing team!

This was such a unique take on the second chance romance trope and I absolutely loved every bit of it.
Meli and Aaron were the cutest couple that wasn't a couple and then was a couple again - - but not really and then they were. Did you follow all that? I know it's confusing. Just imagine how confusing it was for these two.
Meli has struggled with her family and feelings of abandonment and neglect. It makes it difficult for her to believe she can maintain a relationship because she has never seen a solid example of one in her own life. Aaron has his own baggage to deal with. His family has faced down tragedy and uses it to control and manipulate. Between the two of them, they don't think they deserve the happiness that love would bring them and aren't even really sure how to make it happen. But they are just so darn cute together and you find yourself pulling for them so hard.
This book really touched me and left me feeling so happy at the end. Thank you to NetGalley for the early copy.
