Five stars for this sweet romance about taking a chance and fighting for what you deserve. It’s funny and serious in equal measure. It’s both irreverent and respectful towards marriage and commitment, perfectly capturing how every relationship has different needs.

Meli and Aaron are both from pretty dysfunctional families, although they don’t know that about each other when they marry each other in Vegas on a dare. When the actions of their families force the (now) ex-spouses together again, there’s only one way to get what they both want: get married again.

When I first picked this up, I thought it would be a second chance romance. Instead it was marriage of convenience, with a side of shared secret history. 🤭 I would have known the marriage part if I had bothered to read the synopsis. 😆 But I always go into Lonsdale’s books blind since I’ve loved every book of hers I’ve read!

The tropes worked so well in this story and I loved how the relationship played out. This romance isn’t spicy, but it has slow burn angsty denial for days. I got shivers every time Aaron said “my wife.” Alll the swoon! ❤️

Lonsdale wrote a funny and beautiful story that captures how impulsive decisions can lead to the best outcomes. I loved this fun romance!

Thanks to Kerry Lonsdale, Booked With The Emilys, and Amazon Publishing for a gifted copy of Falling for You Again!

I really loved this book from the Meet Cute until the end. I completely devoured the book and didn’t want it to end. I loved Meli and Aaron especially their chemistry together.

There were a couple of obstacles between Meli and Aaron that didn’t seem necessary because there were plenty of other things happening to add conflict to the story…and that was my only complaint but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the story!

I listened to the audio. I thought the narrator Amanda Leigh Cobb did a fantastic job bringing the story alive. Would definitely recommend the audio!

I devoured this book in two days. This story pulled me in and I didn't want to put it down. I love a marriage of convenience and second chance trope. Both were done so well!

I enjoyed seeing the MCs together and how well they worked together. Emi was an amazing friend and the voice of reason for Meli.

There is a lot of toxic family interactions in this book. These characters have a ton to work through from their parents. However, I think this helped shaped who they are and knowing what they want and going for it.

If you are looking for a story that pulls you in, then I recommend this book for your TBR!

While I didn't love Falling for you again. I did enjoy reading it. I liked Aaron from the start Meli on the other hand took me a while to warm up. Though seeing her work in field that she was passionate about wood craftsmanship and knowing it’s a field not many women go into was refreshing change. My favorite part was actually seeing both Meli and Aaron grow and change from the beginning to the end. And even more important Meli being able to truly learn who she is as her own person.

I loved the entire premise of this book! They had such a fun beginning/end and for it to all come full circle was really sweet. The fact that Meli was an artisan woodworker was so cool. I loved that the FMC had such a unique job. The family drama, on both sides gave it emotional depth. Overall, it was a fun and entertaining read that kept me invested in Meli and Aaron's lives.

Falling for you again
Furniture artisan Meli Hynes still abides by her uncle’s truism: the only lasting love story is the one between artists and their creations. After a brief and impulsive Las Vegas marriage years ago, she’s committed herself to her true passion, which is to keep her family’s woodshop alive. Yet, when her uncle decides to sell the business to a competitor, Meli’s future is in jeopardy.
Determined to stop the sale, Meli strikes a surprising deal. She decides that a marriage of convenience to Aaron, the son of the rival company’s owner and the very same man she once married for twenty-four whirlwind hours in Vegas, is the solution. With controlling families, clashing priorities, and undeniable chemistry, their second chance “marriage” comes with one clear rule: keep it strictly business. As Meli and Aaron navigate public displays of affection and living together, sticking to the rules might be the biggest challenge of all.
Meli’s complicated family dynamics deeply shaped her upbringing and contribute to her hesitation in fully trusting Aaron, even after he openly declares his feelings for her. As the story unfolds, the motivations behind her uncle’s decision to sell the business become clearer and more understandable. In parallel, Aaron’s own strained family relationships and emotional wounds add further depth to his character. I especially enjoyed watching Meli and Aaron’s relationship evolve—tenderly and gradually as they spend more time together and begin to open their hearts to one another.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hands down the best romance novel of 2025! I loved everything about this book, the characters, the humor, the sweetest love story ever. I thank Lake Union Publishing and Brilliance Publishing for the opportunity to read and listen to this amazing, uplifting story.

Falling For You Again by Kerry Lonsdale is about Meli, a furniture designer who has worked for her family’s small design company for years. Her favorite uncle Bear owns the shop and decides to sell to a big company/competitor that Meli cannot stand. Years earlier, he had promised to let her take over, but it seems like he has gone back on that promise. To complicate matters, Aaron, who runs the other company, is Meli’s ex husband! They married on a whim after meeting on a flight to Vegas and quickly got divorced after. They haven’t seen each other in five years. Heartbroken and furious about her uncle’s decision to sell , Meli is determined to find Aaron again and make sure that her family business stays in the family.

I love the way the story went back-and-forth in time between present day and when Aaron and Meli first met. The family dynamics between Meli and her family were so realistic. Aaron‘s family is also certainly difficult to deal with. I’m also a sucker for a main character that happens to be a cat! All in all this was just a very fun read. I normally only read thrillers, but I always make an exception for a Kerry Lonsdale book. You don’t want to miss this one!

More than ten novels and author Kerry Lonsdale is still doing it: writing top-notch, addictive fiction that is unique, engrossing and leaves you perfectly satisfied. After reading all her previous novels I know I will always fall in love with her characters, but there is just enough time in between her books that I am each time surprised – almost astonished – at how quickly it happens. The warmth, the tenderness, the honest yearning goes straight to my heart. I am all in with the story, the characters that you know in your heart must be together.

Take Aaron and Meli. It’s been five years since their 24-hour marriage, but they both still remember everything about each other, everything they said, everything they did, every little detail. And not just memories of the past, but memories they have revisited over and over; their blink-of-an-eye time together is as fresh in their minds as if it was yesterday. Which is why when Meli finds herself in trouble and reaches out to Aaron for help, he doesn’t hesitate. He remembers their list of qualities one would want if relationships were real, if love was possible in this world; that list they wrote together became their marriage vows: I promise to sing your favorite songs with you, read books with you, and only say ‘I love you’ when I mean it. I’ll support your passions, whatever they are. I promise to stand behind you, stand up for you, and stand up to you. I’ll always have faith in you.

When Meli and Aaron met five years ago, Meli had literally just left her fiancé at the altar. Aaron was in a lackluster relationship set up and approved by his parents. He has past trauma that he steadfastly refuses to reveal and is burdened with guilt. Meli has been told by her uncle her entire life that love isn’t real, you can’t have everything, relationships and careers don’t mix. There is no such thing as a soulmate. So with those locks around their hearts they couldn’t let themselves believe their magical time together was real and they had a future. There could be no future, it was a wonderful 24 hours and now it’s time to get back to the real world. But the real world doesn’t look nearly as good as those memories, not even five years later with career success for each of them.

Their solution to Meli’s problem, and a way for Aaron to change his life situation, is a fake marriage with a time limit. No feelings, no long-term, they’ve already been married and divorced once, how hard can this be? That’s the question, isn’t it, because “seems like yesterday” really does seem like yesterday. The magic is still there.

Falling for You Again is amazing. Heartbreaking, hopeful, sweet, romantic, funny and tenderly sexy with some very surprising twists. Author Lonsdale has a masterful skill for always coming up with the most interesting, unusual premises for her books. Unexpected but just right. Lonsdale also has a knack for showing us people that allow themselves to be treated badly over and over by those they should feel safe with, accept such cruel and harsh treatment because they feel they deserve it, they’ve done something to warrant punishment, they’re unworthy of anything better. Until . . . they meet someone who might be – dare I say it? – their soulmate.

I was fortunate enough to receive both advance reading and advance listening copies of Falling for You Again. The words are meant to be read again and again and listening takes the story to another level. Narrator Amanda Leigh Cobb does an outstanding job. I loved this book just as I have loved everything this favorite author writes. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

For someone like me, whio finds omance novels cliche Lonsdale has successfully managed to make me an a reader of the genre, as long as it's not too cheesy and this author doesnt.

With the unique world of furniture design as the backdrop and so much drama, the ending was exactly what I wanted.. I definitely recommend.

I absolutely loved this book. Kerry has a way of writing stories that are both fun and heartfelt, and this one is no exception.
Meli and Aaron’s story is full of chemistry, chaos, and charm. I loved the characters, the writing is beautiful, and it had the perfect amount of emotion.
Warm, funny, and impossible to put down; I never wanted it to end. Kerry remains one of my favorite authors for a reason.

My heart was on an emotional rollercoaster ride while reading this - I loved it.

I was rooting for Meli and Aaron the whole time. Their story went from a chance meeting, a whirlwind Vegas marriage (lasting roughly 24 hours), to being rival competitors, to a marriage of convenience, to a swoony second-chance romance! It was not without some major bumps along the way, though.

Both Meli and Aaron are dealing with complicated and messy family issues, which makes things difficult between the two of them. These issues create tension and obstacles in their relationship. As they work through things, they realize they are stronger together, and they find refuge in each other.

Not only did I enjoy Meli and Aaron, but I loved how Kerry incorporated elements of a family business legacy, artisanal woodworking, family drama, and humor to complement their complex journey to love. The story was so fun and enjoyable, yet it also had emotional depth.

Thank you author @kerrylonsdale and @lakeunionpublishing for this #gifted ebook via #netgalley.

Family estrangement, drama, second chance romance, best gal pals, business deals—Falling for You Again pretty much has it all. And Kerry Lonsdale has done it again. She has created a world and group of characters that I fell in love with. I enjoy her stories so much and immerse myself completely when I start one of her novels.

Meli runs on the day of her wedding and runs right into an unexpected, impromptu wedding. The newlyweds come up with a list of rules and attributes that they would want in any future relationship. But is it possible to find someone as perfect as they think they need?

Right after I read the book, I listened to the audiobook. Even though I knew what was coming, it still was a wonderful story and I savored every minute of it. The narrator does an amazing job, her voice was so easy to listen to.

Falling for You Again is a fun, romantic tale of finding love again, after having it the first time. I love this story so much. I highly recommend Falling for You Again. This is the perfect summer read for everyone!

Meli Hynes is a furniture artisan who puts her work first and foremost. Not only is her it her raison d'etre, but her work is the only way she feels close to her parents, working at the family shop. When she was young, Meli's uncle told her to never get married, that it's impossible to be dedicated to a relationship and her work, and her own experience reinforced this perspective; she left her fiance at the altar 5 years ago after he suggested she give up her work once they were married. But now her uncle is planning to sell the shop -her birthright- to their biggest competitor, so Meli takes drastic steps to keep that from happening. What ensues is an equally heartwarming and heartwrenching love story. I don't read a lot of romances, but (as usual) Lonsdale's beautiful writing, rich character portrayals, and exploration of complex personal relationships hooked me from the get-go on this one. In fact, I may have stayed up quite late last night because I just couldn't put it down, I had to see how Meli's story ended!

Meli is a furniture maker who works for her uncle. When her uncle is selling shop, she goes to an old friend, Aaron, for help. They agree to a marriage of convenience that will benefit them both. This is a story about second chances at love. The two MCs have to deal with family drama that has caused them quite a bit of pain, but together, they find happiness and healing. This is a great romance read that is full of drama and heartbreak, but also tender, heartfelt moments.

What a beautiful reminder this story is of what it means to be family and what it means to love wholeheartedly. Aaron and Meli are so cute together and I love the way they respect and support each other despite their difficult familial backgrounds. There are some heavier topics they need to work through in this book, but they're addressed with sensitivity and care. The audiobook is narrated perfectly by Amanda Leigh Cobb and it was an excellent way to enjoy this well-written novel.

Devoured this one! Thank you for the opportunity to review. The witty banter + relationship between MMC/FMC and their friends/family made for such a quick and fun read. There was more depth to it than I imagined with a 'second chance/runaway bride' romance, and I was so glad there was! Will be checking out this author more and more!

This story is a beautifully layered romance that goes far beyond the standard "marriage of convenience" trope. From the very first paragraph of the blurb, I was hooked by Meli Hynes—a passionate, fiercely independent furniture artisan whose love for her craft is as real as the wood she shapes. Her artistic heart and sense of legacy make her easy to admire, but it’s her vulnerability and determination that make her unforgettable.

One of the things I appreciated most was the positive character development throughout the story. Meli isn’t just fighting to keep her family’s woodshop—she’s grappling with a strained relationship with her parents, who don’t seem to fully understand or value her choices. That emotional undercurrent adds real depth to her motivations and makes her journey toward self-assurance all the more powerful.

Her connection with Aaron, the son of her family’s business rival (and her ex-husband from a wild Las Vegas fling!), brings both tension and tenderness to the story. Their evolving relationship is full of charm, witty dialogue, and some genuinely touching moments. I especially loved the cute interactions between Meli and her cat, which offered sweet, often funny glimpses into her softer side and grounded the story in delightful everyday realism.

I found myself truly relating to the characters—their flaws, their hopes, and their complicated family dynamics. Aaron is a perfect complement to Meli: practical yet impulsive in his own right, navigating his own controlling family while falling into a surprisingly genuine partnership with her.

This is more than a love story—it’s about loyalty, identity, and rediscovering the strength to fight for what you love, whether that’s a family legacy, a forgotten dream, or a second chance with the right person. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a heartfelt, funny, and emotionally rich romance with just the right amount of slow burn and spark.
