I cannot tell you how excited I was to receive an ARC for A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping! I absolutely loved The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and was so excited when it was announced that another book in the same universe was being published!!
i'm such a cozy fantasy fan, and as someone who's very ready for fall to arrive, this definitely will be going on my fall re-read list because it had allll the cozy vibes I love for autumn. This was charming, cozy, and adorable!
I really enjoyed the found family aspect of this book, and I also loved the diverse character representation. The characters felt messy in a realistic way, which I felt brought their personalities to life for me. I did not listen to the audiobook but I definitely will be this fall!

Is anyone else ready for fall? I cannot wait for cooler weather and watching the leaves change color. Iโve been building my fall tbr and A Witchโs Guide to Magical Innkeeping is perfect for the season. Itโs an enchanting fantasy that feels like a cozy fall day spent with a warm cup of coffee.
The audio is narrated by Samara MacLauren and she brought this whimsical and cozy fantasy to life. I listened to most of this while in the office, and she transported me into this world effortlessly.

โHave you ever read a book that reminded you why you read?โ
A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping is a perfect book for late summer reading with cozy blanket and a warm drink. The characters of this book are not exactly charming but endearing in many ways. They are in search of something and the inn draws them in. Sera is the key to all but will she herself find what she is looking for? Will magic help her?
I really enjoyed this book. This book just might have brought me out of a very bad reading slump that I was under. There's a scene where Sera is stunned by the interpretation of Nicholas, that truly resonated with me. It again brings to light the concept of perception and perspective. Hence, the story reminded me of the reason why I love reading. Happy endings are good but when those endings involve finding yourself and embracing yourself are the best stories in my opinion!
Thank you Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for this book.

Such a fantastic fall read with cute characters and TONS of representation/voices heard!
This story was so wholesome and fitting for the cozy season, I highly recommend it to any reader looking for a "feel good" book!
Additionally, the author chose to highlight so many minority voices and forms of character representation that it just makes my heart burst! As someone who is neurodivergent, I love to see this type of inclusion in romance and the bookish community as a whole! 10/10 job!!
Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for making this accessible to me, all the love for you <3

This book is a beautiful, cozy addition to the witchy book canon! Written with an array of fun characters, Sera leads the story beautifully as a magic magicless witch who made the ultimate sacrifice to resurrect a beloved relative. I've yet to find another book with such beautiful autistic and LGBTQ+ representation. (Oh, and resurrected skeletal chicken representation.)
Sera lost her powers at 15 after a sure path to becoming the most powerful witch in the world. But one resurrection spell to revive her guardian was revealed to the Council, and all spun out of control. From there, she takes over an old inn, now enchanted by chaotic magic.
Sera is 30, making her an established protagonist with plenty of life experience and budding wisdom alongside her residents at the Inn. In a quest to get her magic back, she meets Luke and his little sister Posy. Together, the residents of the inn work to find Sera's magic once again.

A huge thank you to Berkley for the ARC of this one!
After reading Sanguโs YA, she became an IMMEDIATE must-read author! I was so excited to get this and demolished it on vacation. Itโs the coziest fantasy with such lovable characters! While we are following the main characters of Sera and Luke, I loved every moment with Theo, Posy, and Clemmie. The found family was big in this one, and I felt like I could read about this cozy bnb forever!

Sera, a once powerful witch who lost her magic after bringing her aunt back to life, discovers there may be a way to get her powers back--but it will require the help of the cold historian who just showed up at her with his younger sister in tow. Luke learned long ago how to wall up his emotions to keep himself safe. Now, the inhabitants of this ridiculous inn are threatening to tear down every wall he's ever made.
This was such a sweet, cozy fantasy romance. I could read a hundred of these if Sangu Mandanna continues to write them!

Sanguโs books are uniquely magical - theyโre atmospheric, cozy and romantic. This left me wanting to go stay in an inn in the English countryside (ideally with a zombie chicken and a hot researcher).

I loved everything about this book: the magic, the coziness, the found family, the quirky characters, the grumpyxgrumpy slowburn, the lgbtq+ representation, and diversity. I laughed, I yelled, I cried, I swooned, and felt a deep connection with the characters.
Sera is always looking out for the people and creatures at the inn. She had a rough start but she had one of the best character developments Iโve ever seen. The way she took care of everyone, her quest to recover what was lost, and how part of her journey paralleled with Luke. This is the first grumpy x grumpy romance Iโve read and their interactions were so funny. Each of the characters brought something to the table and I enjoyed their uniqueness and unlikely relationship with each other. This book also shows us how pompous and old fashioned institutions like the Guild can be and that some changes are needed in order to improve.
If you love witchy cozy books like me with found family, a magical inn, character growth, and quirky characters this book is for you.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the advanced reader copy. This is my honest opinion.

When a book feels like a warm hug!! This one is beautiful and messy and I did not want it to end. The most perfect second chance read Iโve read in a long time. Sera is such a strong flawed protagonist and I loved her so much. I canโt really put into words how important a book like this is but really please pick it up. I think it hits on really important discussions on mental health, found family, and rebuilding your life.

I really loved The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, and I have it in paperback! So I was very excited to get an ARC of this one - thank you Netgalley and the publisher.
A Witchโs Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna is a whimsical, cozy, and heartwarming fantasy about second chances, found family, and a dash of romance. Once a powerful witch, Sera Swan now runs a chaotic enchanted inn with her resurrected aunt, a mischievous talking fox, and a steady stream of quirky magical guests. When a mysterious scholar arrives with knowledge that could help her reclaim her lost powers, Sera must balance spells, secrets, and unexpected feelings - while learning that love and community might be the strongest magic of all.

Thereโs a lot I enjoyed about this book. The themes of belonging, family, and feeling out of place were so beautifully done. I loved the overall message of family love. I also really enjoyed the characters! Clemmie & her fleas, the undead rooster. But, I just found myself not wanting to pick up the book. I just wasnโt super invested and in love with it.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

this was a cozy masterpiece. i absolutely loved this story & the writing!
when sera loses her magic to revive someone she loves she's constantly reminded of what she's lost. her magic only shows up in small stars when there used to be a galaxy, but she continues on her duties as an innkeeper to those who find it when they need it most. and when she leasts it expects it, she finds luke, a cute magical historian who helps her piece back together she's searching for.
this book will help you fall in love again. the friendships, the romance, and the characters are a warm hug that will make you want to finish this in one sitting - and i know because that's what i did!

LOVED!! the perfect cozy book for Fall, a little romance, a little magic, so fun and great representation of kids with autism. I really enjoyed this one

I LOVED this book! This is the perfect read for anyone looking for:
* Coziness
* Fall Vibes
* Witchy Magic
* Found Family
* A sassy talking animal
Our main character Sera is on a quest to get her magic back after losing most of it casting a spell that was too intense when she was a teenager. I loved the themes of identity this plot line explored. Who are we without what we believe is most essential to us?
This book had a really sweet romance, but it also focused so much on familial love, friendship, and found family.
I would recommend everyone read this book this fall! A true delight.

This was a lovely, cozy fantasy with a sweet romance. Sera lost her magic when she resurrected her great-aunt, her only true family. She spends the next 15 years helping to run her great-aunt's magical inn and trying to find a way to restore her magic. When a spell in a rare magical language surfaces, there is finally a chance to restore the magic she misses. Enter Luke, who she knew in her childhood at magic school, and is one of only a few who can translate the spell. Luke brings with him a magical little sister, who blends right into the found family at the inn.
The found family aspect is the most compelling part of the book. It's a truly magical read.

This a top-level recommendation from me. Like, favorite read of the summer-level recommendation!
Because the cozy magic, quirky found family, and romance is all so satisfying.
Sera is an exiled witch who helps run an enchanted inn.
She also lost a lot of her magic, and now she may have found a spell to bring it back.
Meanwhile Luke needs a place to stay with his sister, and he doesnโt want to be drawn in by Seraโs inn.
Except he finds himself doing just that, even offering to help Sera with her spell.
Except everyone may have more obstacles than anticipated, particularly from the Guild.
But Sera and Luke have a family looking out for them, and itโs just a joy to read about them all!
We have grumpy x grumpy (which is so delicious), and a serious slow burn!
Not to mention excellent autism rep, which I want to see more of!

A lovely cozy fantasy that had me laughing out loud and tearing up.
Favorite parts:
โข found family
โข Roo Roo
โข all the representation
I loved *almost* everything about this book! The open door scene really threw me off and is the only reason I knocked a star off of my rating. It didnโt quite fit into the rest of the cozy, wholesome feel of the book. Truthfully I skimmed through it so I could get back to the plot. Minus that little hiccup, I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
โHe, the Tin Man who recognised his own heart at last, and she, not a shadow or a ghost of what she once was but alchemy, a phoenix who had gone up in flames again and again and yet, each time, had outlasted the fire.โ โค๏ธโ๐ฅ

Mandanna did it again! I loved her first book and I loved this one just as much. There is something so cozy about this book. You want to read it with some hot chocolate and curled up in a blanket while itโs cold outside. Itโs a vibe.
I love how much representation comes up in her books. It just feels like normal life and not like they are shoving it in your face that these characters are different. It feels so natural. I loved the FMC and the way you could see her character arc move! I love this book!

Sangu Mandannaโs A Witchโs Guide to Magical Innkeeping is a warm, whimsical novel that blends cozy fantasy with found family, a touch of romance, and the magic of belonging.
Sera Swan was once one of the most powerful witches in Britain, until a forbidden spell gone wrong left her stripped of most of her magic. Now she runs an enchanted inn in Lancashire with her resurrected great-aunt Jasmine, a talking fox, and an ever-growing cast of misfit residents. Life at the inn is chaotic, heartwarming, and filled with magical mishaps. Yet when Sera discovers an old spell that could restore her power, she cannot resist chasing the chance to reclaim what she lost. Enter Luke Larsen, a handsome but reserved magical historian who wants nothing to do with the innโs antics but somehow finds himself caught up in Seraโs world. Together, they may uncover more than forgotten spellsโperhaps even healing, hope, and love.
Mandanna has crafted an irresistible setting, one where weary travelers stumble upon the inn when they need it most, and those who stay become chosen family. The quirky cast is richly drawn, from Seraโs prickly fox companion to Lukeโs brilliant autistic sister, Posy, whose presence is written with care and authenticity. The book is inclusive, heartfelt, and brimming with charm, offering queer love stories, diverse backgrounds, and moments of quiet magic that feel as real as the fantastical spells.
At its heart, this is a story about second chances. It reminds us that even when old doors close, new ones may open in unexpected places, and the family we build for ourselves can be the strongest magic of all. A cozy, enchanting read that will make you want to check into Seraโs inn and never leave.
