Thank you to NetGalley, and HarperCollins publishing for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

Oh my goodness - what a fun & easy read! This is the 3rd book in the Helen Thorpe series and you better believe that I will be picking up the first two asap as I enjoyed this one SO much!!

The Buddhist butler, Helen, and her butler friends go to an isolated island retreat - the characters attending this retreat are a mix. of troubled and wity ones with extremely different political opinions and the goal is that by completing team building exercises they will become closer. I was highly intrigued by this premise. There were twists in this one that I honestly did not see coming, and the way that the story shifted made me utterly delighted and kept me fully engaged. I read this one in a single sitting as I truly just couldn't imagine putting the story down.

The ending was pure perfection - there was no rushing, and quite frankly it wrapped up beautifully!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of Susan Juby's 'Contemplation of a Crime' in exchange for my review.

I have been eagerly awaiting butler Helen's next adventure and I was not disappointed. A topical mystery drawing on Canada's current political environment, this novel brought together a group of character of diverse and extreme world views for a five day retreat aimed at finding common ground and understanding. When two attendees drop out last minute Helen and her employer Mr Levine are asked by his son David to fill in. When two key participants are kidnapped and held hostage, the attendees must come together under the guidance of Helen and her butler friends to locate them before it is too late.

A cracking read that is well-paced, humorous, and invites the reader to consider why certain world views are adopted and reminds them that it is possible to find common ground when we put in the effort.
