it makes me so sad to say this but I think this is gonna be my last Elle Kennedy book, unless she goes back to writing easy 300 pages books, because I can’t sit through another 500 pages of this. I loved the off-campus series so I just don’t know what happened here.

I was bored through the most of it. at the same time there was so much going on that it might make you think what does it have to do with the main story? the historical romance fanfic was maybe funny the first time but was it necessary throughout the entire book?

the ex, the brother, Will’s father, camera crew, Australia, the dad chat, separately a great idea for a plot but all together just made a one big mess in my opinion. and somehow, even tho there was so much, I was still insanely bored??? make it make sense.

I really liked the boys, I think they were sweet. I feel neutral towards Charlie, one thing I’m jealous about is that she’s able to talk herself out of anxiety with logic and a list 😂 I respect that lol

let’s be completely honest tho, what was this book really about? and why was it so long? I’d love to know.

best part of this book? threesomes. BYE.

overall reading this made me sad because the entire time I was just thinking how this is me saying goodbye to Elle Kennedy because I can’t do this anymore.

the narrators of the audiobook were incredible tho!

thank you to NetGalley for gifting me the ALC of this!

I have mixed feeling about this book. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was it hot and fun? Also, yes. But did some parts didn't sit quite right with me.

I went into it knowing it was MFM while wanting it to be MMF. I was happy that Elle didn't make Will and Beck freak out every time they were asked if they were queer, the addition of two side characters who were queer felt like she was trying too hard to make up for Will and Beck. They felt like token additions instead of important parts of the story. And that didn't set right with me. Queer characters aren't token additions to a plot.

Additionally, the third act was rushed and didn't feel like it fit with the rest of the book. It was all explained in the final chapter, but it wasn't executed well. More time should have been given to it so that it felt authentic.

All that said, would I recommend it? Yes, but only if you know it's going to be MFM. Will and Beck are in love with each other, even if it's not romantic. It's an unconditional love; deeper than friendship or brotherhood.

The Charlie Method - Elle Kennedy - ARC/ALC

I absolutely loved these three! I felt like the personalities really complimented one another, this one had a lot less drama than I expected considering it was MFM!

Beckett was so much more complex than I’d expected after reading about him in the previous two books, I loved how him and Will were oppositions but also had so many similarities! The fact the Beckett could read Will so well was sweet, it also helped that he was Australian because we like to switch it up!

I felt so bad for Will and how strained his relationship with his Dad was, and how that strain trickled into his every day life, I loved that he showed growth and acceptance towards himself, and could admit to himself when he knew he fully hadn’t and took he took the time to make that right!

I thought Charlie was so so fun and interesting, I loved the double life that she lived, how she was prim and proper Charlotte and then Will and Beckett’s Charlie too! Her adoption story and the search for any biological relationships was so heartbreaking especially when she finally got to meet Harrison and how she took all that guilt on herself.

This was such a fun read and I can’t wait to see what comes next for Elle!

Also I am 100% sure that I would read The virgin and the Blade, and thoroughly enjoy it!!

The audio was so so good, I really enjoyed the narrators and felt that they portrayed their characters perfectly! Teddy Hamilton is an all time favourite so I knew I’d love him as Will, and I thought the way that Sean Masters changed accents so effortlessly was incredible and his deep voice was what I’d expected for Beckett!

Happy Pub Day to Elle Kennedy’s The Charlie Method (Campus Diaries #3). This book is the last in the series filled with a spicy MFM romance storyline that starts from a response to an interesting app profile. Charlotte (Charlie) is the perfect studious sorority sister with a secret that must remain hidden. Will & Beckett are teammates, friends and roommates that aren’t afraid of sharing but when that involves Charlie and rumors from her ex. These two will become super protective. I’m truly sad to see the series and but glad there was #hea. This will definitely be a #motherdaughterbookclub pick.

fastest dnf of the year so far goes to…

alright so i was already insanely hesitant on even giving this book a try after finding out it was mfm. i personally feel as though will and becketts build up in the previously two books was extremely queer baited, so by no means did i go into this book thinking i would like it but when i saw the audio posted i thought “well i have loved 15+ elle kennedy books so far so maybe this one will be better than i thought”… wrong. i was over charlie mid chapter 1. i knew right from the get go that i was not going to enjoy this book and honestly, chapter 2 solidified that for me.

so yeah, horribly fast dnf. it is very clear to me that i have no interest in these characters so there is no reason for me to prolong my suffering by trying to force the listen. take my rating with a grain of salt

Thank you so much to Elle Kennedy, NetGalley, and Bloom Books for the ALC of The Charlie Method. This is Book 3 of Elle’s Campus Diaries Series and I’ve been loving this series! I was so excited to get the advanced listening copy since I’ve been WAITING for this book release since I finished the previous book in the series!

First of all, the narrators did a phenomenal job of bringing Charlie, Will, and Beckett to life! I really loved how Charlie spent so long focusing on what others thought of her but that Both Beckett and Will were able to make her feel more comfortable about who she was as a person instead of the front she has been putting on for so long. Will previously dealt with similar feelings before this book surrounding the stigma of the relationships he and Beckett preferred/were looking for. Beckett may have been using threesomes as a way of not getting too close to loving someone again, but with Charlie and Will, I love how the three of them just slotted into place. This book was spicy, had more depth than I honestly expected, and was a fun time!

Oh my goodness this series just keeps on being amazing! This book will have you melting, Will and Beckett are so swoony and Charlie is their perfect counterpart and the way they adore her had me melting. Also they were voiced by Teddy Hamilton and Sean Masters and with the spice in this I'm pretty sure my ears were melting as I listened. The two of them had different personalities, but a really strong friendship...and obviously similar kinks. Charlie has become a master of being what others want/need her to be throughout her life, but its when she's with her boys that she can totally be herself. As mentioned the spice in this is top notch, but it's equally matched with a great relationship journey between the three.

Truthfully, I thought the Graham Diaries and The Dixon Rule were well written but The Charlie Method was not it - for me that is.

I didn’t feel the chemistry or depth between the three characters — and the scenes of the three was just not good and it was meh.

Additionally, as a result of not caring for the three’s relationship, this book read so long and drawn out.

I’m sad that this book didn’t meet my expectations, but I hope there is another book!

The audio made this book for me! I think I would have enjoyed this book without the audio just fine. However, the narrators were so good! The chemistry was palpable and I couldn’t stop this audio!

This was my first Elle Kennedy book and I think I will read more as I really enjoyed the world and characters.

Hear me out 😅 I still love Elle Kennedy’s writing style, just not this book. I loved the MMCs, but the FMC just fell short for me this time around. The love story also didn’t feel as deep as I would have liked. The narrators did a phenomenal job though!! I don’t regret listening to it and I’d still recommend it ☺️

This has become my favorite audiobook ever! The narrators were all fantastic and kept me engaged. I could feel the emotions they portrayed in their voice/tones. It was so really done!

Beckett's Australian accent in my ears made my ssooo happy! His dirty talk was top notch and well spoken. Will is so sweet, swoony and lovable from the beginning and I kept falling for him. He was also powerful and passionate when standing up for himself, Charlotte and Beck. Charlotte was so relatable with her fears, anxiety and pressure to be perfect. Persephone Lee was excellent as Charlotte with the true emotions in her tone.

I cannot say enough excellent things about this audiobook! I finished this audiobook in 3 days and already want to listen again! I highly recommend The Charlie Method!

3/5 audiobook.

Let me start by saying this was my first ever audiobook. I think I got a little ahead of myself. Because this book was heavy on the spice and my little ears were NOT prepared for it. So if you are like me and new to audiobooks, I do NOT recommend starting with this. However, if you are a seasoned romance audiobook veteran, then you would probably love this. I think?

Personally, I struggle with audiobooks, because the voices sound so condescending to me. And I specifically struggled with this one, because I was familiar with all the characters and their voices didn’t match what I had in my head and I could not get into it easily. So are you catching my drift here that this audiobook fail was most likely my fault? I enjoyed it once I got into it, but it took a hot minute for me. Plus, I never got over the female voices and just how grating and theatrical they were. Probably not for me. Therefore I’m giving this a middle of the road rating, because that seems safe.

Wow, this might be my fave in this series! I LOVED this so much! 😍 I loved Charlie and seeing the two lives she lived. Her struggles with her origins and all of that was heartbreaking. I am so happy she found a guy or 2 😉 to help heal her heart and show her that she is absolutely enough! Under that white skirts and bows exterior is the tough fast car loving strong woman! I loved her versatility!

Ugh Will and Beckett… the best book boyfriends EVER! 🥹 I was swooning and sweating for them both this whole book! I have been waiting for this since that one scene in the Dixon Rule (iykyk) and I was certainly not disappointed in the slightest! 🩷🩷

Teddy Hamilton was amazing of course, he does nothing wrong ever. Sean Masters brought the best performance of Beckett to the table! Persephone Lee was the most amazing Charlie, in all aspects!

Thank you Get Red PR and Bloom Books for my gifted copies! All opinions are my own.⁣

The Graham Effect is an all time favorite and I’ve been loving this series! We met Will and Beckett in the first two books and I was excited to see how their story progressed. I think this was my first MFM story and I appreciated how their HEA was handled. I was always rooting for Charlotte, Beckett and Will.⁣

I just loved Charlotte/Charlie. She is a leader on her sorority and a student in STEM plus she is searching for her biological family. She has so much going on and she handles it all so well. She is nervous about pursuing a relationship with the guys because of how she’ll be perceived but can’t help her feelings. ⁣

This was definitely steamy and it also smiling and laughing out loud (the dad’s text exchange.)⁣

I’m so sad to see this series end, but I can’t wait the see what we get to read next from Elle Kennedy!

Audiobook Review 🎧
Narrated by Teddy Hamilton, Sean Masters and Persephone Lee
Duet Narration

This review really could be narrowed down to one word… HOT. I am in love with Charlie, Will and Beckett!! These three were so easy to fall in love with, I couldn’t get enough of them!! The dynamic between them, and how their relationship developed had me HOOKED!

There were so many times that I found myself laughing out loud. First, the dad chat??? I want in!!! Coach Hollis, the freaking app with both of them on the same profile, Charlie’s family dinner where everyone had a confession 😂 seriously there were so many amazing parts to this story!!

And the audio?? Omg Sean and Teddy could be reading me street signs and I’d eat it up everytime!!! I loved how this was done in duet — it really amplified the story!

Normally I am a big fan of Elle Kennedy's books, but this one was not for me. I probably should have skipped it based on the trope alone, but I had forgotten what type of relationship this was going to be in between this book and the last. I didn't read the blurb, and that's my fault. There were several times I thought about ending it in a DNF, but I decided to give Elle Kennedy and this ARC the benefit of the doubt.

What went wrong for me with this book? Well, it started off with Charlie and another man, which I guess was a way to show a certain side to Charlie to the reader. At least it was prior to the romance in this book, but it still felt icky to me. Then, there was the actual romance. I didn't love it. I honestly didn't feel a close enough connection between the characters to truly believe they were falling in love. The sexual relationship took center stage, and the feelings felt like the came second. Plus, it was accepted by everyone else way too easily. This book was more suited for the erotica genre than new adult sports romance in my opinion.

As for the actual characters themselves, Charlie was a lot. She had so much going on: a strict sorority and job in it that she was only in because her mom had been a part of it, wanting to get into a good grad school, wanting to find her birth family from Korea while being scared what her adoptive family would think, a secret passion for driving fast cars, and a desire to hook up with one-night stands. There was so much that it was too much to focus on for one character. The story kind of narrowed down to focus on the adoption aspect. I could connect with some of that stuff as an adoptee myself, and other parts of it made me uncomfortable. All this stuff Charlie had going on made Will's relationship with his dad and Beckett's issues fade into side character storyline territory.

One of the biggest things that had me considering a DNF was a comment and then a situation from it. Charlie confides that she wants to try go to a rave and try ecstasy. The guys make it happen for her. This bothered me a lot. Should trying a recreational drug be promoted in a new adult book written for late teens and new adults whose brains aren't fully developed and are having to make real time choices about taking drugs in a world of fentanyl overdoses and addiction? Especially when the character's reaction was that she wouldn't do it again only because she liked it too much?

Now that I've ranted, let me tell you what I did enjoy. Will and Beckett's friendship and support of each other was nice, even if I would have loved for them to have found other girlfriends. I liked the story about Will's relationship with his dad and what Beckett's parents were going through. I also enjoyed Blake's parts in the story. She kind of stole the show. I also enjoyed a scene where Charlie laid everything out for her family toward the end. It was fun.

I really enjoyed this one. Yes, we got our throuple with Charlie, Beck, and Will, and yes we had our steamy scenes but I did really love that the story had a main plot of the three of them finding their way, what made them happy, as they were leaving college.

I think Elle Kennedy really encapsulated the fear, the excitement, the nervousness of leaving the safety of what you know and venturing out into the world. It paralleled nicely with them finding themselves as a throuple, too.

And, I'm sorry, but the DadChats will always be a highlight for me!

TEDDY HAMILTON AND SEAN MASTERS KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! I really loved the way they brought this story to life; it truly elevated the reading experience for me!

One thing that remains consistent in Elle's storytelling across every book in this series is that there is more to these characters than what meets the eye. Will, Beckett, and Charlie each had the type of depth that made you want the best for them as individuals, and it made me happy to see the boys become an emotional support system for Charlie beyond the initial confines of their relationship. I found the side storylines with Will and Charlie's backstories to be an interesting way to show us more about them than what we see on the surface.
