I thought I would love this book but I really didn’t care for it.
Small town romance that had so much potential and Autism representation, I went into this with so much hope.

I really liked the MMC, I felt the type of autism he had was reminiscent of people I know in my life and I liked how he was portrayed. I didn’t like the FMC, she felt rude and pushy and when things weren’t going her way came across and not understanding to others feelings. The portrayal of the character really made me dislike this story and was a struggle to get through and finish.

The supporting characters and Gus were what made this book if I’m honest, REN started to get better as the book went on but I just didn’t like her or the way she was written.

Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this arc!
I’ve been craving fall vibes so this was a perfect start to my TBR pile and I feel like there is a severe lack of POC FMC’s in book like these so I absolutely adored it!! Grumpy x Sunshine is a trope that always has me giggling and kicking my feet.
It was a cute and cozy easy read and I really loved how Athena handled the topics of Autism representation, communication, understanding, love family and friends throughout the story. She wrote with such care and warmth for her characters! Can’t wait to see more from her!

This was a cute book that had be giggling at parts, but it also left me wanting more romance. I liked it, but I felt there could have been more to this story. I loved the setting of the book, but the characters were not my favorite. Though parts were cute, I was not my cup of tea which saddens me because I wanted to like this book. It might not have been my cup of tea, but I know for others, it might be theirs.

This was what I thought to be a cute fall vibes love story and while it had aspects of that I didn't enjoy this book due to the way the characters interact with each other (such as calling each other idiots and the miscommunication trope) add in that there wasn't much in the way of chemistry between the FMC and MMC in the first half it was had to find this a believable love story. 2.5/5 star

This book was cute! I loved reading this. It’s got me in the mood for those cute, soft autumn romance books! Now I’m going to read loads 🤣 I have recommend this book to my book club girls and I know four of them have brought it off Amazon

I really enjoyed the fall vibes of this book. Wren and Gus don't get along when they first meet, but things change as they continue to work together. And I loved seeing Gus' transformation during the course of the story as he got closer to Wren. I also feel like the ASD representation was done well and respectfully.

I was so excited to read this romcom, it was hitting all my hot buttons: inter racial, small town romance, rivals to lovers and one of the main characters was neurodiverse!  Add in the autumn time period and I was hooked.  Unfortunately I was left feeling a wee bit blah by the time I finished it, sadly.

I know writing a neurodiverse character can be hard, no one fits in a perfect box, however as a proud autism auntie (5 kids with differing forms of ND/Autism) I just felt the portrayal of Gus was a bit...two dimensional. Gus's character really felt that he could have been read over by a sensitivity reader/editor - I know the author said that she was trying to make him ND without labelling him any one particular way but he may have actually come across better if she had just picked one and went with it.

I just couldn't vibe with his relationship with Wren at all.  She could be demanding, laser focused and controlling and sometimes she was downright horrible!  Gus was often portrayed in quite an aggressive light and even with his brothers he could be quite aloof.  I just needed Wren to be a tad softer - not less forthright or independent, just a little bit more accepting that not everyone is like her!

“[Autism] Doesn’t change him, just helps you understand him. Most parents don’t have that privilege.”

This was a very cozy Autumnal read. While I didn’t feel invested in the overarching story I did enjoy the characters in it. Gus sometimes comes across as one of those Autistic guys where you think ‘an Autistic woman would never get away with saying something like that’ which isn’t something I enjoy, but overall his characterisation and growth as an Autistic character was well done.

I think this book can be enjoyed by low stakes, cozy readers who enjoy grumpy x sunshine tropes in their romance.

At one point, shortly after the above quote I've highlighted, there was a quote that I feel was meant to be affirming by saying Autism is a neurological difference rather than a mental illness - but it actually came across as really shamey for mental illness in a way I didn't like.

*Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Harper Collins Publishers for providing me with an advanced reader copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

I really wanted to fall in love with this book, especially for the small-town trope and the cozy, autuminal vibe. The cover itself is very cute, festive, and absolutely perfect for the change in season. Sadly, the story itself didn’t deliver on that promise.

The biggest struggle was with the characters, particularly Wren. She came across as pushy and unwilling to compromise, which made her difficult to root for. Her determination didn’t come across as strength so much as stubbornness, and it often pulled me out of the story. On the other hand, Gus was a character I really enjoyed. His presence added depth, and I appreciated the autistic representation he brought to the book. That said, the romance never clicked for me because Wren wasn’t understanding of his difficulties. Rather than showing empathy and adapting, she often dismissed his needs, which made their relationship feel more frustrating than romantic.

The story felt slow in places, and I often found myself waiting for something meaningful to happen but then the ending had an unnecessary difficulty. By the time things started to build between Wren and Gus, I was already struggling to stay invested. The tension never fully grabbed me, and instead of pulling me deeper into the relationship, the dragging pace only highlighted the issues I had with Wren’s character.

The fall atmosphere in this - superb!! The story line was okay; kind of reminds me of a Hallmark movie plot. The characters, I just couldn't really connect with them. While some might love this, it was just okay for me.

This book gave me all the autumn vibes—crisp leaves, cozy moments, and pumpkin-spiced everything! 🍂🎃

There’s Pumpkin About You is a delightful enemies-to-lovers romance, filled with witty banter, slow-burn tension, and just the right amount of sass. But what really made this story stand out for me was the thoughtful inclusion of autism awareness. It was handled with care and heart—and it truly hit home for me.

This story isn't just romantic and fun; it’s meaningful, too. If you love fall-themed reads, characters with depth, and a love story that warms your heart, definitely add this to your TBR!

Thank you to Netgalley, One More Chapter and the author for the ARC!
I read this book in one sitting because I could not get enough of this, so let's dive in:

- The atmosphere of the book is amazing, it will give you all the cozy town/fall vibes you are probably craving this time of the year!
- These protagonists are soo good! Truly the grumpy x sunshine trope done to its best. Gus is honestly the man of my dreams and the way his love language is acts of service >>>> I also loved Wren and how she tackled the task of getting Gus on board with her plan AKA annoy him into saying yes.
- I hope hope hope the author writes more novels in this world focusing on the other characters because I truly loved their stories too.
- I felt like the way Gus's autism was incorporated/explained in this book was brilliant and I learned a lot about it - this coming from someone with no prior knowledge/ firsthand contact with the disorder itself.

Overall this kept me reading non stop and I really enjoyed it, highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a good book to get into the Fall mood!

I don’t know how to rate this book, some aspects I loved & others I disliked. The setting & theme of this book was amazing but the characters needed something more. Many interactions between the fmc & mmc I found myself wanting to skip.

This was a great cozy fall read that I will definitely enjoy reading every year. The characters are so well match and the autism rep was very well written. I love how the author goes into a detailed explanation of the mmc feeling and thoughts without making it seem like I was reading a medical or self help book.

There's Pumpkin About You was a cute fall read! I loved the setting in the pumpkin farm! Honestly, I wanted to love the book so much, but unfortunately a couple of things bothered me (miscommunication, calling each other idiots?). Also, I didn't really feel the attraction or the chemistry in the first part of the book. Overall I just feel like something was missing. Although, I really enjoyed the side characters and the ASD representation.

Thank you Netgalley for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion 🫶🏽

I really loved this book!

It was a perfect read for fall about a couple that fitted so well. The main characters were so lovable and easy to understand (even Gus), because everything was explained so well!

This was such a cute fun autumn read.
I absolutely adored it.
How Gus was portrayed was amazing, I really saw the portrayal of autism in him from the get go really really wel done.
You really felt his struggles with it how he battled with it his entire life and trying to hide parts of him be better and do more because he felt that was needed.
Wren was such a wild one but she was the perfect fit for Gus.
How everyone could see their love before they could I loved it.
The banter between them they really could go head to head.
But that just gave them the tension they neeeded.
The growth in this book how they started to see things differently and how they could change and be what the other needed it felt wholesome and yes i cried okay i cried because it was just so wholesome.
Especially when at one point wren feels overwhelmed overstimulated and Gus says the look you have right now thats how I feel all the time. And it just put perspective on things.
Really really wel done well written I absolutely ADORED it.

Cute and cozy read for fall, but there wasn’t much of a plot and it is mostly centred on the characters. It was a little boring and hard to relate too
