I was so excited to be back in the world of the Macabe brothers! I LOVED Whisky Business & was so excited to continue reading about the people of Isle of Sky.

I really enjoyed Juniper and Callum as characters individually & watching their relationship blossom. I loved their banter and flirty moments & just found them a pretty wholesome couple — even with the fam drama👀.

Overall this was a cute romance read that also hit some deeper topics & I definitely need more Macabe brothers…Alastair I’m looking at you.

Callum—affectionately nicknamed “Community Ken” by Juniper Ross—is the epitome of “that one guy everyone loves but whose true story remains a mystery.” As the oldest, he’s always kept his emotions close to the vest. A chance encounter on a train eight years ago completely upended his world when he first spotted Juniper, despite the fact that she was engaged to his younger brother at the time.

Fast forward to the present: Juniper now runs the Ivy House, and Callum is an established vet. Watching their story unfold—amid continuous trials and challenges—was like witnessing a daisy sprout through rubble. Even through dark times, misunderstandings, and obstacles, their connection always brought them back together.

The trope of “my brother’s ex-fiancée” was a first for me, but it was executed tastefully. The found-family theme also resonated, reminding me that family isn’t defined solely by blood.

Overall, with just the right amount of spice, an engaging story, and impressive character progression, this was a truly fun read. It even made me want to book a ticket to the Isle of Skye—while trying not to be one of those tourists snapping photos of a sheep on the roadside.

This story was sexy, sweet, and a perfect follow up from Whiskey Business!

The banter, jokes, and jabs between our two main love interests were funny and entertaining. The tension and swoonworthy romance that developed was addictive and made the book hard to put down.

For any eldest siblings, caretakers, or those who take on so much without asking for a lot in return, you will enjoy watching two pretty selfless characters fall in love and become open to having someone else be there for them.

If you haven’t read Whiskey Business, read that immediately and then read Scotch on the Rocks!

If you’re looking for witty banter, thick tension, hot Scottish men and years of yearning (on his end), then this one is for you!!!

I remember reading Whisky Business before it traditionally got picked up and I just knew then and there that this series was going to be a banger! The constant bickering and head butting between Juniper and Callum was so fun and quick paced that I didn’t even realize how far I’d gotten into it in one sitting.

Junipers personality may seem guarded and cold, but deep down is a soft and caring person who just wants to be loved and feel like they’re enough for others (like ouch calling me out like that). And with Callum, his bubbly and constantly “on” personality, is almost similar in a way to Juniper. They both use these different brands of emotions to shield their true feelings from the people they care about because it’ll protect themselves. I loved how these two complete opposites understood each other so well in their own ways and my heart just ached for them.

Also y’all this book was HOTTTT. Juniper basically walked Callum like a dog and I was here for it!! I’d let her do anything to me okay?? 🧎🏻‍♀️

Anyways! I really enjoyed this one and I’m curious to see what happens in the next book. But for now, Juniper and Callum are gonna be on my mind for a while hehehe. Thank you Avon and NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my review!!

This was a great romance book. The main characters had great depth and emotion. And I really liked the character development in this story..

Elliott Fletcher wrote Scotland’s answer to the cowboy romance sub-genre and I am hooked! Callum’s masculinity was rugged but not toxic and I was here for it. I also liked that Juniper was not the typical heroine (short hair! not curvy! her cat hates her!). I love a MMC who is down bad, and Callum was pathetic for Juniper in the best way. I liked the mix of tropes Fletcher gave us, though early on there was something of a dip into fake dating which was abandoned pretty soon after. That probably could have been cut. Otherwise this was a swoony, steamy, second-chance/enemies to lovers/forbidden romance bonanza and it has me eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for access to this eARC. There is nothing I love more than enemies-to-lovers and this was an immaculate telling. To be fair, Callum Macabe probably never considered Juniper Ross his enemy, having been in love with her since before he knew she was his younger brother's girlfriend. But with her previous relationship long done, Juniper is adverse to love of any kind. And knows she doesn't want to be involved with another Macabe. So she thinks.

The banter here was literally to die for. The wit and snark these two could throw at each other was enough to make sparks fly off the page. (Not to mention the spice between them.) I loved seeing Juniper's walls come down and Callum be there to catch all the pieces. I had really enjoyed April and Mal's story, but this one is another level.

This one had me hooked from the dedication, and kept me glued to it the rest of the story. Easy 5 stars.

Loved this one. Callum's devotion to Juniper was so palpable. I didn't find Juniper super likeable, but also....she doesn't have to be likeable for it to be a good book- it was just a stumbling block for this particular reader.

First off, the connection between Callum and June was absolutely top notch. This book had so much heart and humor that I simply couldn't put it down!

I want to start off by mentioning all the stuff I liked/really enjoyed about this book including the fact that this is the first book I’ve been able to finish in a couple months. The beginning had me absolutely hooked and I couldn’t stop reading it. I also love a good pining/yearning mmc and black cat/golden retriever dynamics. However, this book made me realize there’s such a thing as too much banter. I get that was their dynamic but it kinda got old especially with the elementary boy antics the mmc was pulling because of his feelings for the fmc. I wish they had more heartfelt/angsty moments and that they had gotten together a bit earlier. Like I feel like they wasted so much time. And usually I am not too bothered when the fmc dates her ex’s brother as long as it’s done right but it gave the ick here a couple times especially when they mmc would bring up the fmc’s and his brother’s sex life. But overall this was a pretty enjoyable read and i’d definitely recommend!

Took me a minute to get back into the family but once I was I was hooked from there on. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Callum and Juniper and the animals! I do wish we could have seen a little more on the reno/job side and focused a little more on the 4 dates but overall it was a fun read!

After reading Whisky Business, I couldn't wait to read more about the Macabe brothers and life on the Isle of Skye and Scotch on the Rocks did not disappoint! I was hooked on the first page and absolutely loved how the relationship between June and Callum developed. As their romance bloomed, we learned about June's history and understanding how it shaped the way she trusted people. We also got more insight into the Macabe family dynamics and especially how it impacted the storyline about Jim Macabe's Alzheimer's diagnosis and his care taking.
This was such a fun read and I am looking forward to the third book with Alistair, but also wouldn't mind if we got a fourth book for Heather to get her HEA. 😊

Where do I even begin? Scotch on the Rocks was an absolute delight to read! It was funny, emotional, deep, and so hot! Elliott Fletcher has a gift for banter and spice. Callum and June had perfect chemistry that I just couldn’t get enough of. I didn’t want their story to end!

I adored this book. There’s humor, there’s heart, and there’s that aching kind of yearning that makes every page addictive. I was rooting for them so hard, and when everything finally falls into place? Perfection.

Synopsis: Callum felt immediate interest in Juniper when he met her on a train, but he wasn't aware that she was his brother Alistair's fiancé. Five years after Juniper and Alistair have split, Callum can't seem to stay away from her. Juniper has decided to avoid the Macabe brothers completely, but she finds that to be quite difficult when it comes to Callum. Their friendship creates quite a stir in their small Scottish town...

My opinion: Callum and Juniper couldn't be a more perfect fit for each other! She's your classic black cat FMC, and he's such a golden retriever that she calls him Community Ken. I love a good "he fell first" story and this absolutely fits the bill. Elliot Fletcher makes you want to be friends with these characters and I was immediately hooked on this book. This made me want to move to a Scottish town and find my own Macabe brother. I highly recommend this one!!

So good! I loved how the characters grew together.. Their families were messy, but in a way that added depth to the story. I love it when a MMC pines and boy did Callum pine!

Callum and Juniper have a complicated history to say the least, but when Juniper is in need of help, and is out of options, Callum is there to provide some much-needed assistance. This sudden forced proximity gives them the perfect opportunity to really get to know one another and unpack their pasts while perfectly building tension between them, which will eventually boil over in more ways than one.

The story of Callum and Juniper is complicated, has been years in the making and is perfectly slow burn. We start the story off in the past, showcasing these two throughout two monumental events in their lives before we jump to the future and to Isle of Skye where they both now live and work and try to stay out of each others way. Well, Juniper tries to do that, since she has all her rules. But Callum, not so much. And when she eventually needs his help, these two start to grow a lot closer to each other.

The black cat and golden retriever energies are so perfect here. Juniper is jaded, she's snappy and prefers to keep everyone (including her own stepmom) at least an arms length away from her and Callum has the need to help everything and everyone, even at the cost of his own wellbeing. It's even gotten to a point where he keeps stuff from his siblings in order to keep them safe and not worrying over their father. So in theory, these two should not work but they do. I loved every single moment in this book and every interaction between these two was pure gold. And the yearning? Just gimme all of that, buckets and buckets, as that was so perfect.

I also love how the author was able to weave in so much without it ever feeling too much. We got family drama, we got personal growth, we got funny moments, we got introspective moments and we got some action in there as well. And it works so seamlessly together. The love just shines from the pages and the way Callum just understands Juniper and what she needs is breathtaking. And when she starts to understand Callum and let him in, I squealed. Love, love, love. The spice in the story works so well too and the moments (all of them) feel meaningful and perfect for this couple and the way the chemistry and emotion in those scenes, it's on point. It's really a perfect blend of spice and emotional journey.

Returning to this world was perfect and I cannot wait for another Macabre brother book!

Scotch on the Rocks is from a new to me author and I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The witty banter and steam really hit the spot.

I DNF's at 25%. It was moving too slow, and I didn't understand the chemistry between the two leads or why our black cat female lead was a so black catty. It started off strong with some great spice and chemistry, but I couldn't follow past that.
