Thank you Atria and Emily Bestler books for my gifted copies. All opinions are my own.
This was a wild ride and had me hooked from the very beginning. I ended up doing a mix of audiobook and ebook so I could keep reading.
Elizabeth’s world turns upside down when a student starts submitting book chapters to her seminar that include details of her past no one else should know. She tries to track down the student sending them but when that fails she heads home to Louisiana to see if she can get to the bottom of it. I liked how we got Elizabeth’s story intermixed with chapters of the book she was receiving.
There was a lot going on but it managed to keep my attention and not be confusing. In addition to this Elizabeth finds her estranged mother is dying and ends up flying back and forth from NYC to be there for her. She also runs into an attractive young man at a local bar and it turns out he’s the son of the man she killed.
I really enjoyed all the plot twists until the end when I’m not really sure I understood.
This was my second Vi Keeland book and I definitely want to check out more of their books!

I have only read a couple of Vi Keeland books (both thrillers and romance) and she is quickly becoming a must read. Someone Knows hooked me right from the start. I didn't even realize how engrossed I was until I saw how far along I was at my first break.
Elizabeth is introduced as an english professor with many years experience, but also with a deep, dark secret. The details are withheld until the story progresses. Elizabeth returns home after 20 years and as soon as she is in her mom's presence again, she quickly turns from a reliable, intelligent career woman to a unreliable, forgetful basketcase. Her past begins to haunt her as she tries to figure out who knows all of her secrets when she is certain she only told one person outside of her two best friends. She attempts to track down her friends and thats when the unspiraling starts. One friend is easy to find, but discovering where the other is opens up some hidden memories that she didn't know she was repressing.
This story was a wild ride. While some of the situations felt predictable, I can assure you that you won't see everything coming.

Finished Someone Knows and I need Vi Keeland to personally pay for my therapy. The twist? Unhinged. The tension? Off the charts. The spice? Let’s just say I’ll never look at a bar bathroom the same way again. Emotional damage, red flags, and a morally gray man who patiently lets the chaos unfold—add to cart immediately.

I finished this in one sitting! I was completely hooked from the very start and I was so engrossed in the story. It was entertaining, engaging and full of twists! I really thought I had things figured out but I kept getting hit with more plot twists and turns as the story went on. I was so focused on the story that I gasped out loud at times while reading. I think the author did an incredible job of creating an unreliable main character that made you doubt everything and not trust what they said and did. This was a great thriller and I highly recommend it to those that love a good can’t-put-it-down type of book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review and feedback.

Oh my God, I clearly didn't know what to expect from this book. This is my first book from VI Keeland and I loved it. This is a fast paced thriller that would have you engaged from the very first page. And when I thought I figured out the whole plot of the book, the ending had my jaws on the floor. I still have unanswered questions from reading this book. Good job VI Keeland.

Secrets, secrets, and more secrets- this book had me questioning everything from the jump. While some of the twists seemed a bit over the top and unnecessary, I still really enjoyed this one. It was fast-paced and a true popcorn thriller from beginning to end. Make sure to check trigger warnings before reading, as it does dive into some heavy topics that are tough to read about.
Thanks to @atriabooks and @netgalley for a sneak peek at this e-book.

Thank you so much to Atria Books & Netgalley for this e-arc.
I thought this book was amazing. Vi Keeland presents the story through a blend of chapter entries from past events and present-day storyline. It was a really clever method to advance the plot and provide the reader with a distinct account of what occurred. The reason Vi Keeland is one of my auto-read authors is because I enjoyed every book she has written so far,

So friggin good! Someone Knows is thrilling, I was fully engulfed in this story and couldn’t put it down.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books | Atria/Emily Bestler Books for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
While I was really drawn in by the blurb, this book fell flat for me. It was more of a wait and see as opposed to thriller of what's happening. The pace didn't keep my attention. I actually almost DNF it twice but I wanted to know how it ended. It has 3 shocks but I saw two of them coming which didn't change my feel of the book. The last 50 or so pages is where it picks up. I did enjoy the ending that's why my rating went higher than it is. It isn't extremely bad but not super great.
I do think this will grab the attention of other readers so I recommend everyone read it as Vi Keeland is a fantastic author. 3 stars

For starters, thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for selecting me for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! I was hooked from the first chapter and devoured the story. I will say it was a little predictable. There are 3 major twists that take place. I was able to figure out the first 2. The last one I suspected, but quickly forgot when the second major twist was revealed.
In all, I standby my rating because even though it was predictable, I had a great time reading through the minor twists and seeing what was going to happen next as well as how it would unfold.

4.25/5
I am back in my thriller era with this book! It was such a twisty tale that completely took me off guard! It was so good! It tells the story of Elizabeth, a college English professor at the start of a new semester as she begins to grade the chapters submitted by her students in her creative writing seminar. But one of the students stories gives Elizabeth pause. It tells the tale of a high school teacher who begins grooming and sleeping with one of his senior students. As she continues reading, she realizes this is no ordinary submission because the story they are telling is one she lived before, and that student in the story is her best friend Jocelyn. And Elizabeth knows how this story will end, with the teacher dead - because she is the one who killed him. But no one should know the details of what happened all those years ago, and now Elizabeth finds herself returning to the place she said she would never go back to. Someone knows what happened and she can’t risk them spilling her secret.
I was hooked on this book! Vi Keeland tells the story as a mix of chapter entries from the past and then present day plot. It was such a good way to develop the story and give the reader the history of what happened in a unique way. I devoured the book, and as it is less than 300 pages, it was pretty easy to get through quickly!
This one had some big surprises in it which made me have to go back and immediately look for the clues that I missed. It had me on the edge of my seat and I really had no idea where it was going until it was over. It has been a while since I’ve read a good thriller and I am so glad I dove into this one as it has sucked me right back into the genre!
If you like thrillers with some twists and turns, a fast paced plot, and an ending that has you saying ‘oh shit’, I highly recommend picking this one up!
Thank you atria books for the free copy!

I thought I would be a bigger fan of this one, because I love thriller books, but the pacing of this one kind of threw me off. I guess I personally wanted this to be a little more of a thriller, instead of a slow burn discovery, and this book didn't really deliver on that. It wasn't bad, but it was pretty forgettable.

irst off, I want to say I was intrigued by the premise—secrets from the past resurfacing through anonymous writing is a compelling hook. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t quite live up to the promise for me.
The pacing was surprisingly slow for a book under 300 pages. I kept waiting for something truly suspenseful or unexpected to happen, but it never really delivered. The story felt like it was building toward a major twist or revelation, yet what unfolded lacked the impact I was hoping for. It felt more like a slow unraveling than a gripping mystery.
I also struggled with some of the character choices, especially toward the end. Elizabeth’s decision to use someone emotionally without much reflection left a bad taste and made it harder to sympathize with her as a protagonist.
Overall, this one just didn’t work for me. I appreciated the concept, but the story needed more urgency, emotional depth, and tension to truly shine.

Someone Knows was, for me, just okay. As someone who doesn't usually gravitate towards thrillers, I found it hard to stay engaged — mostly because the story felt predictable from early on. There were moments where I could tell the author was trying to build suspense, to keep us on the edge of our seats, but unfortunately, it didn’t land the way it was meant to. The tension never quite took hold, and the result was a rather boring reading experience overall.
None of the characters really stood out to me — they felt flat, almost like placeholders rather than real people. I didn’t find myself connecting with any of them, and their actions often felt too predictable or uninspired to leave a lasting impression. That said, the opening chapter was intriguing. It set a tone that made me hopeful for what was to come — it hooked me just enough to keep reading. Unfortunately, that spark quickly faded.
The book explores important topics like parental negligence, depression, and murder — but these themes weren’t explored with the kind of emotional or psychological depth that could have made the story more impactful. They were present, but never fully developed.
If I had to find something to appreciate, I’d say the writing was accessible — easy to read and straightforward. But when it comes to pacing and structure, it never really took off for me. That might be more of a personal preference than an actual flaw, but still, it made the book feel like a drag.
Would I recommend it? Only to someone who’s just getting into thrillers or prefers a more mellow, less intense reading experience. If you're a seasoned thriller reader looking for twists, complexity, or that “can’t-put-it-down” energy... this probably isn’t it.

I love Keeland's romance books and enjoyed her thriller debut and excited to read her 2nd thriller.
The premise of the book intrigued me with Elizabeth, a college professor, receives a story that is actually her secret from high school.
Elizabeth is freaking out since this secret must never be known. With what is happening, she returns home to see what is going on.
The story is twisty and there's a lot of subplots that kept me interested.
Leslie Howard and Aiden Snow did a great job on the narration.
Thank you @simonaudio @atriabooks for a copy of this book.

A fast-paced thriller with some crazy plot twists. Elizabeth Davis starts to receive chapters from a student… but the story mirrors exactly the crime Elizabeth committed years ago.
I thought this was a great thriller with bits of grief and some spicy romance thrown in there as well!
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I needed to sit with my thoughts for a bit and discuss with others who have read this book.
I was loving this book but then it kind of got chaotic and things just got thrown in to make a decent ending. Overall, it was 3.75 stars from me and I did enjoy it.
Elizabeth and Ivy are young high school girls. Elizabeth is involved with her teacher and he ends up getting murdered by someone.
Elizabeth moves far away and tries to start a new life but then her mother gets sick and Elizabeth is forced to go back home for a bit.
Before Elizabeth goes home, she starts getting short stories written by one of her students and it’s basically all the bad things that Elizabeth and Ivy have done but they didn’t tell anyone. She doesn’t know who’s sending the stories but she’s determined to go talk to her old friends.
Thanks netgalley and publisher for a chance to read this book for free in return for my honest opinion.

This is my second Vi Keeland thriller and this one was a bit darker and a little more off the handle than her last one. With that said, it was a great thriller that was so fast-paced and twisty. It’s the type of book that once you start, you really do not want to put down, so block off the time to read it. She does a great job making these books feel like thrillers, while still adding in the romance components (which she’s written a lot of). I would go into this one blind if you can. It’s a quick read that will have you turning the page to find out what happens next. While I did enjoy it, it was a little predictable for me.

Someone Knows is a twisty, I-didn’t-want-to-put-it-down thriller with a perfect, epic reveal in the very last chapter that made me instantly want more. Not that it didn’t end just the way all suspenseful reads should, with a gasp, but WHAT HAPPNS NEXT, Vi Keeland? This book is the perfect book to share with all of your thriller loving friends, because there’s so much to discuss. I loved every last page, and this is exactly why Vi Keeland is one of my auto-read authors.

I appreciated how fast-paced this was. I also love that I had a hard time putting it down.! Some of it was a little predictable, but I didn’t mind that much. What I did mine was that it went a little too dark for me, but that’s just my personal opinion. I did thoroughly enjoy the ending though.
