Elizabeth Davis is a 37 year old college English professor for the last 15 years at Pace University in New York City. Twenty years ago she ran as fast as she could from Minton Parish, Louisiana, her hometown because of a horrible incident with the local English teacher, Damon Sawyer. Now she is just trying to get on with her life.
When Elizabeth gets the first chapter assignment from a student called The Reckoning by Hannah Greer, Elizabeth reads it and panics. The chapter is recapping the incident from twenty years ago. The only people who knew what happened that night were her best friends, Ivy Leighton and Jocelyn Burton and they all agreed never to talk about that night, May 20th again. Elizabeth hasn't even talked to either of them since that night. At first Elizabeth thinks it just a coincidence, but when each new chapter reveals those hidden details, she knows she must travel to her hometown and do a little investigating.
Upon her arrival Elizabeth runs into many different people: Lucas whom she used to date; Wendell Unger, the local police chief; Father Preston at her mom's church and Noah Sawyer, the twenty-seven year old son of Damon Sawyer. She feels like they are all watching her. When Elizabeth finally reaches her mother's house she realizes just how sick her mom actually is. Turns out she has stage 4 cancer and doesn't have much time left.
In between dealing with her mother and trying to figure out what the heck is going on the mystery starts to slowly unravel. Just when you think the story is going one way....BAM.....it changes course. Once Elizabeth talks to Ivy she has a better understanding of things but in the end, things are not at all what they seem. In the end Elizabeth thinks that things are settling back into normal but nope....Vi Keeland throws us for another loop!
I could not put this book down! This story will take you on so many different twists and turns each one being crazier than the next. I really liked all of the different characters. It was fun how they were each woven into the story. Overall this book is an excellent thriller that will keep you on your toes the entire time!

Ooh this was quite a wild ride!
The beginning was a bit tedious and repetitive with Elizabeth being very paranoid. But things started picking up when she went to Louisiana. I kept trying to guess what happened and I never would have guessed it in a way. The last chapter though! It threw me for a loop! Like I want more answers!
I'm loving these psychological thriller books from Vi Keeland. it was a great read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for early access to “Someone Knows” by Vi Keeland! First, am I a little freaked out that I finished this book on May 20th? YES! IYKYK. Wow! I went into this book not ready at all for what I got into, and I am so glad. There are twists and turns everywhere with a first-person narrator, making your information both more limited and all the more intense! I am usually that annoying reader who can figure out the who-done-it long before the last chapter, but this time I went back and forth and all over so many times! The book makes you feel terrified, paranoid, and also compelled to keep reading the whole time till you get to the end. I absolutely loved it.

I really enjoyed The Unraveling so I was super excited to get this book. This is a fast pace psychological thriller. Many of the twists you could see coming but that didn't make them any less enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns and the romance added in as well. This book is one you can sit down and read in one sitting which is always a good valet cleanser for me. I will recommend this book on publication day to those who enjoy thrillers and romance. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was hooked from the very beginning! This book was such a page-turner, fast-paced, twisty, and impossible to put down. I loved the way the suspense built with each chapter and how the mystery unraveled at just the right pace. The first major twist completely caught me off guard in the best way, and the plot kept me fully engaged from start to finish. Vi Keeland nailed the tension in this one! This was my first Vi Keeland book, and im leaving forward to reading more! I’m a fan.

Thank you, Atria Books and Netgalley, for my copy of "Someone Knows." So far, I like this book. It has mystery and thrills that gave me chills, which is what I like about reading.

I received Someone Knows by Vi Keeland as an ARC read. Let me tell you that when this book is released on June 17th buy it immediately!!
I was fully hooked from page one of Elizabeth’s story and could not put it down. This was such a well paced thriller that I never felt bored or that it dragged out. It kept my full attention through the entire book. Keeland did such a good job giving you mind blowing turns you never saw coming.
But the ending? GIRRRRRL. My jaw literally dropped. Like, cartoon-style dropped. 😲 I did NOT see that twist coming. Not even a little inkling! My mind is still trying to piece together all the clues I completely missed. I was sitting there in stunned silence for a good five minutes after I finished.
If you’re looking for a thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, make you think you’ve figured it out and then BAM mind blown. Then you must read Someone Knows! This book was Four Huge, mind blowing stars for me 🤯🤯🤯🤯.

I am so obsessed with this author now, I can hardly explain how much I have loved both of her books. This was easily a 5 star read for me. I truly am STILL thinking about it. I LOVED the ending and it was truly diabolical.
Highly recommend if you love twists and a good mystery.

Oh, to be a teacher of creative writing. Especially when something submitted (called “The Reckoning”) is all about a crime you covered up twenty years ago in high school. Elizabeth is the New York City English professor reading the incriminating first dead-on chapter from an online student and guilt overtakes her. She’s on edge, increasingly paranoid (maybe she shouldn’t be dating a detective) and decides to revisit the scene of the crime back in Louisiana.
Not as twisted as “The Plot” by Jean Hanff Korelitz but pretty straightforward as a mystery to be solved: Who knows? Why are they contacting Elizabeth and not the police? Why now? Plus, what happened to the other teenage girls involved? As a bonus, we get a book within a book as the mysterious student keeps sending new chapters. Elizabeth, however, can be hard to root for. She tells us she’s guilty but we don’t know the circumstances. And getting involved with a relative of the victim showed more terrible judgment on her part. Her mental health is questionable. But we know that Elizabeth needs help. The engrossing aspect is finding out if she gets any. 4 stars!
Literary Pet Peeve Checklist:
Green Eyes (only 2% of the real world, yet it seems like 90% of all fictional females): YES Elizabeth has green eyes, Mr. Sawyer has deep intense green eyes, and Noah has mossy green eyes.
Horticultural Faux Pas (plants out of season or growing zones, like daffodils in autumn or bougainvillea in Alaska): NO
Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy!

I’m a HUGE Keeland Stan- of both her thrillers and romances so I requested this one blindly! However, after soon starting, I felt prickles on anxiety on my neck that this read would include one of my sensitive content topics that I cannot comfortably read. I checked in with a bookstagram bestie who confirmed my suspicions, so I will not be finishing my read. However, from informal chatter with other book lovers, I know this one is going to be wildly successful and a huge summer thriller hit!

This book is addictive, fast-paced, and started off with a great premise. I flew through the pages and was instantly hooked. I read this one with Denise and it was so much fun to exchange wild theories along the way! Now let me just rip off the band-aid and say what didn’t work for me: too many characters, too many different tropes, and a pretty underwhelming resolution. It’s one of those cases where everything was just a bit too much... so much so that I ended up more confused trying to connect all the dots and subplots than impressed by the actual story or final outcome. I finished the book with more questions than answers. alsooo, I’m always surprised when thrillers include smut, and in this case, it's very graphic. So if that’s something you enjoy in your books, you’ll definitely like this one.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

#SomeoneKnows #NetGalley

This book gripped from the beginning. This book was fast-paced and twisty. The suspense and mystery kept building, The middle was a little slow but it picked up to end up with a bang. I previously enjoyed this author's book, The Unraveling, and would recommend this for those that enjoyed that book. Please be sure to check out the trigger/content warnings on this one before reading including child abuse, grooming, death of a parent and miscarriage

Loved this one!! Second book by this author and it’s full of suspense trying to figure out who knows about her past. Loved the smaller twists along the way up until the big ones at the end. It’s fast paced and was hard to put down!

Someone Knows was such a solid read! Vi Keeland always knows how to pull you in, and this book had a great mix of emotion, romance, and a bit of mystery that kept things interesting. I was really invested in who was sending her the chapters.
The connection between the main characters felt really real and raw. Their chemistry was great, and I loved watching their relationship develop, especially with all the baggage they were both carrying. There were some emotional moments that definitely hit hard, but I think the author did a good job writing about a difficult subject.
The plot moved along at a nice pace, and there were a few twists that I didn’t see coming. Some side characters and parts of the story could’ve used a bit more depth, but overall it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed it.
At first, I was going to give this book three stars but then the very last few pages pulled me back in and changed it to a four star book! If you're into romances with heart, a bit of drama, and characters with real struggles, this one’s definitely worth checking out.
Thank you, NetGalley, the author, and the publisher, for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A dark, psychological thriller that thrived on the suspense and unreliability of our main characters. This story was dark, twisty and all the things you could wish for in a psychological thriller. An original story that kept me guessing, definitely recommend!

4.5 Stars!
I’m a huge fan of Vi Keeland’s work in the romance genre, so I was eager to read Someone Knows.
Keeland does a great job of throwing in her fantastic brand of spice while giving thriller lovers their heart racing storylines. While this is her second thriller, it certainly won’t be her last!
I’m interested in rereading this via audiobook with some killer narration

An enjoyable, quick read thriller. I was engrossed from the first page. I did guess one of the twists as it was predictable. Overall enjoyed the story. Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for ARC.

A gripping psychological thriller that pulls you in from the start and doesn’t let go. I loved how it kept me guessing the whole way through. There’s a little bit of spice woven in, in fact Elizabeth, the FMC likes to solve many of her problems with a romp in the sheets. This book does an excellent job of making you feel just a bit unsettled, in the best possible way. It’s dark, emotional, and thought-provoking.
If you're a fan of psychological thrillers that mess with your mind and keep you hooked chapter after chapter, this one's for you.
