This book gripped from the beginning. This book was fast-paced and twisty. The suspense and mystery kept building, The middle was a little slow but it picked up to end up with a bang. I previously enjoyed this author's book, The Unraveling, and would recommend this for those that enjoyed that book. Please be sure to check out the trigger/content warnings on this one before reading including child abuse, grooming, death of a parent and miscarriage

Loved this one!! Second book by this author and it’s full of suspense trying to figure out who knows about her past. Loved the smaller twists along the way up until the big ones at the end. It’s fast paced and was hard to put down!

Someone Knows was such a solid read! Vi Keeland always knows how to pull you in, and this book had a great mix of emotion, romance, and a bit of mystery that kept things interesting. I was really invested in who was sending her the chapters.
The connection between the main characters felt really real and raw. Their chemistry was great, and I loved watching their relationship develop, especially with all the baggage they were both carrying. There were some emotional moments that definitely hit hard, but I think the author did a good job writing about a difficult subject.

The plot moved along at a nice pace, and there were a few twists that I didn’t see coming. Some side characters and parts of the story could’ve used a bit more depth, but overall it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed it.

At first, I was going to give this book three stars but then the very last few pages pulled me back in and changed it to a four star book! If you're into romances with heart, a bit of drama, and characters with real struggles, this one’s definitely worth checking out.

Thank you, NetGalley, the author, and the publisher, for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A dark, psychological thriller that thrived on the suspense and unreliability of our main characters. This story was dark, twisty and all the things you could wish for in a psychological thriller. An original story that kept me guessing, definitely recommend!

4.5 Stars!

I’m a huge fan of Vi Keeland’s work in the romance genre, so I was eager to read Someone Knows.
Keeland does a great job of throwing in her fantastic brand of spice while giving thriller lovers their heart racing storylines. While this is her second thriller, it certainly won’t be her last!
I’m interested in rereading this via audiobook with some killer narration

An enjoyable, quick read thriller. I was engrossed from the first page. I did guess one of the twists as it was predictable. Overall enjoyed the story. Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for ARC.

A gripping psychological thriller that pulls you in from the start and doesn’t let go. I loved how it kept me guessing the whole way through. There’s a little bit of spice woven in, in fact Elizabeth, the FMC likes to solve many of her problems with a romp in the sheets. This book does an excellent job of making you feel just a bit unsettled, in the best possible way. It’s dark, emotional, and thought-provoking.

If you're a fan of psychological thrillers that mess with your mind and keep you hooked chapter after chapter, this one's for you.

"Someone Knows" keeps readers guessing until the very end, and I absolutely love that!

Elizabeth believed she had left her small town in Louisiana behind for good, but it seems that someone has other plans. Now, she must figure out who is trying to bring her brutal past back to haunt her, and why!

This author truly kept me on my toes; I felt almost like I was having a nervous breakdown along with Elizabeth. There are so many twists and turns—goodness! She truly knows how to keep readers engaged. The revelations were shocking, and the ending left me speechless. Will there be a follow-up? I suspected that Noah's big personality was playing tricks on us. Lord, what's going to happen to Elizabeth?!

Ms. Keeland, if you plan to continue this cat-and-mouse game (and at this point, I'm not even sure who is who!), all I ask is that you don't prolong the heart attack that I know I will endure!

This was my first read by this author, and it certainly won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Please check for triggers while reading, as this book deals with some heavy topics.

If you’re craving a fast-paced psychological thriller that won’t let you go, this one absolutely delivers.

Elizabeth is a Creative Writing Professor with a past she thought was buried forever—until a creative writing assignment brings it all crashing back. One of her students submits the first chapter of a novel… and it mirrors something only Elizabeth could know. Someone remembers what happened 20 years ago—and they’re not letting her forget.

Desperate for answers, Elizabeth returns to her hometown, but instead of clarity, she finds more secrets, more lies, and a chilling truth that’s been waiting in the shadows…

This twisty, gripping read had me hooked from page one. No unnecessary fluff—just razor-sharp dialogue, a plot that races forward, and shocking turns that kept me guessing until the very end. You think you know… but you really don’t.

Perfect for fans of buried secrets, and psychological suspense with serious bite.

Big thanks to @atriabooks via @netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another amazing thriller from the mind of Vi Keeland. This one kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book! And just when it seemed to be all finished, Vi threw another twist our way, Loved it. Hope there are more thrillers coming from Vi. Will definitely be listening to the audiobook once it's released too!

This one starts off with a bang! I was immediately hooked as we find out that SOMEONE KNOWS about Elizabeth’s dark past. She immediately starts spiraling trying to figure out who could know! I loved how this was presented to us, and I thought it was a unique plot.

However, the middle dragged a bit and threw the pace off. Things were happening that I didn’t really see the importance of, and I feel like it took away from all the suspense that was built up at the beginning.

But THEN…the pace picks back up as we are thrown twist after twist! And boy were they good ones!! 😮 I was only able to guess one little twist, but it was after more info was given to us. Andrea @andrea and I were sending each other WTF texts when the twists were revealed!

Someone Knows has a 4.22 on Goodreads, so I’m definitely in the minority after seeing all the good reviews. I do think it’s worth the read if you’re looking for something twisty!

Thanks so much for the ARC Atria Books & Atria Thrillers! They had send me Keeland’s first thriller “The Unraveling” last year which I really enjoyed- and I loved this one even more! She has written a ton of romance books but I hope she also keeps writing these amazing fast paced thrillers. (Releases June 17!)

Elizabeth is a college writing professor who has left her dark past in the south where it belongs. But one day, the chapter an online student submits to her stops her in her tracks. She reads all about a student named Jocelyn who is groomed by her high school teacher. Elizabeth is shocked because the details in this story are exact to her best friend’s abuse when they were in school, and she knows the teacher ends up dead by her own hand. Who could know these details? And why are they taunting her with her secret so many years later? Elizabeth has to go to her dilapidated hometown in Louisiana to get to the bottom of this.i

Wow wow wow. There are incredible difficult themes in this book (please read content warnings below) but I was riveted. I really didn’t see a few of the twists coming. The structure of this novel made it almost impossible to put down- alternating between the chapters submitted and Elizabeth in the present. I’m currently dressing on the Broadway show John Proctor is the Villain, which has a lot of similar themes to this book which was fascinating and heavy to sit in simultaneously. Highly recommend this for fans of dark thrillers!

While SOMEONE KNOWS was a bingeable read with a good twist at the end, I found it to be predictable and a lot more sexual than I prefer in my thrillers. It was definitely dark so I advise checking out trigger warnings ahead of time.

Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for the arc!

Thank you for the ebook arc! This one was very twisty and turny. 2 of the twists really shocked me. Definitely a quick and easy read and easy to fly through. It didn’t blow me away but I still enjoyed it and found it worth the read

enjoyed reading this book. I knew that I wanted to read this book after having read The unraveling. It was different getting to read from the perspective of a college English Professor. I liked the setting and also most of the characters. I thought it was funny how she dislikes country music when she is from the South. I also dislike country music and I make sure to only listen to my apple playlist over the radio so I don’t have to listen to country music if it comes on.

However there were times that I thought Elizabeth made really dumb choices though out the story. Especially her choice in the men that she dates. I think it was too coincidental to make her last choice to be who he was. I think I liked reading more from the current storyline than reading from the past.

The ending was okay, it was very anticlimactic. Thank you to Atria Books for the ARC via Netgalley.

4.25 Stars

The twist in the middle really really got me in this one! I really enjoyed myself while reading this book, it was a super simple, quick, and easy thriller, and I would have given the book a higher rating if it weren’t for the ending. The ending just left me with too many questions and not in a good way.

Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy of Someone Knows by Vi Keeland. This book will be published on June 17, 2025.

I've read a Vi Keeland romance book, but this was my first thriller by her and I was not disappointed! I was engaged throughout the entire book and did not guess all of the twists and turns (which is a big deal for me).

This story follows Elizabeth, a college professor, whose past comes to haunt her, 20 years after she graduates high school. I honestly hate to write too much about the synopsis because I don't want to spoil anything. Go into this book blind and just enjoy the ride!!

Typically when an author transitions from one genre to another, I am weary, but Vi really knocked it out of the park with this one. I would definitely read another thriller by her.

**Check trigger warnings as this book has some HEAVY content**

Overall, if you like thrillers, I would definitely recommend this book. It's a quick and easy read. A solid 4 stars for me.

Talk about twists! I’ll admit—at the start, I wasn’t totally sold. The narrator came off a bit dramatic and even annoying at times, and some of the side characters felt underdeveloped or unnecessary. But once the first major twist hit? I was all in.

Vi Keeland absolutely delivered on the suspense. Just when I thought I had things figured out, the story spun in a completely different direction. The theme of buried secrets is woven so well throughout, and the reminder that everyone has something to hide kept the tension high and the suspect list long.

If you love an unreliable narrator and endings that leave your head spinning, Someone Knows is a must-read. It’s the perfect summer thriller—ideal for tossing in your beach or lake bag.

As a college English professor, Elizabeth looks forward to teaching her creative writing seminar. That is, until she reads chapter one of The Reckoning. To anyone else, it would be the beginning of a great page-turner, but to Elizabeth, it is the beginning of the end.

Someone Knows is well-written, entertaining, and has a great air of mystery surrounding it. This book is utterly consuming and impossible to put down. Just when you think you know what's going on, you're hit with a wild plot twist. And let me tell you, for Elizabeth, the hits just kept coming. After 20 years, her past came back to haunt her, and the series of events that would follow made my brain hurt in the best possible way.

In the end, I found myself taken on a wild and unexpected ride. I feel all twisted and turned inside out, and couldn't be happier about it. If you're looking for a fast-paced, addictive thriller with an ending that will leave you questioning everything, you won't want to miss Someone Knows.
