I simply tore through this thriller.
Elizabeth is a college creative writing professor teaching a summer seminar in New York City. She starts receiving chapters from a student outlining her dark past growing up in Louisiana.
This had the perfect equation of a thriller for me. Short chapters, fast paced and twisty! When I wasn’t reading this book, I was thinking about when I could read it next. I can’t believe this is the author’s first thriller!
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC - all opinions are my own.

I wasn't sure what to expect going into this thriller, except that I was going to get caught up in it and end up not knowing what was coming next. Elizabeth is a college professor, with a very interesting past. When she was in high school, there were issues with Jocelyn and one of their teachers. Leaving her hometown for New York, teaching was her main goal, as well as advancing in her chosen career. However, being an English teacher, a student submits a story that is eerily similar to Elizabeth's past. This sets Elizabeth on a journey to find out who knows her secrets, and what they are planning to do with them. Tons of twists and turns have you thinking one thing, and the story going in another. A must read for thriller lovers!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a free ebook copy in exchange for an honest review. This book will be released June 17, 2025.
I really enjoyed Someone Knows! It’s an excellent suspenseful and twisty thriller. I mean, that plot twist a little over halfway through was so UNEXPECTED even though a few little bread crumbs were there!! I did not see that coming!!! The twists and turns in this novel are top tier and the writing is fantastic. I had to keep turning the pages and get all the answers. I devoured this book in one sitting! I definitely recommend this one!

Wow!
This was my first book from this author, and I wasn’t disappointed. The beginning really grabbed my attention, and it continued to do so throughout the story. I was on edge while reading this.
I loved the dual timeline, which intertwined the present day with the emailed chapters from an anonymous person. As the chapters were dropped throughout the book, it became more thrilling and built a lot of suspense. There were also multiple twists that had me questioning everyone’s motives. You couldn’t trust anyone in this town. Even though it was a thrilling read, it was also very sad given the circumstances.
Overall, I thought this thriller was absolutely wild!
Thank you, Atriabooks and NetGalley, for this ARC.

Vi Keeland is known for her romance novels, but her shift into thrillers with Someone Knows is exciting. This book blends suspense with a touch of romance!
The story follows Elizabeth, a professor who begins receiving chapters of a book from a student-except the story is eerily familiar. It details events from her own teenage years, specifically the secret she shares with only two people about their senior year. The book reveals the truth about her friend's affair with a teacher and how they ultimately murdered him-something no one else should know. As Elizabeth returns to her hometown, the suspense intensifies, and she fears her secret will finally come to light.
While some twists were predictable, others genuinely caught me off guard. I love a good thriller, and Vi Keeland delivered a gripping, fast-paced story that kept me up all night reading! If you're a fan of her romance novels, you might enjoy how she blends her signature style with this darker, more suspenseful genre.

Thanks to Atria/Emily Bestler Books for the gifted ARC!
About the book: Elizabeth Davis teaches English at Pace University, where her creative writing seminar just started. One student's assignments catch her eye - because they contain WAY too many details about her past and a teacher who ended up dead.
My review: Okay, this one is honestly hard to review! I absolutely blew through it - it's such a page turner and had some great twists to keep the plot moving, much like Vi's last thriller, THE UNRAVELING. But it's definitely more sinister than what I usually read. There's an abusive relationship between a teacher and a student at the center, and since *someone knows* that the teacher ended up dead and a few too many details, the story pops back up 20 years later. The ending shook me, which is exactly what I want from a thriller, and I definitely recommend this if you like fast-paced thrillers with a romance element... just know that you should check the triggers on this one!

Quick, engaging mystery but it did not keep me on the edge of my seat like the author's (Vi Keeland) first thriller The Unraveling.
Trigger warnings: child abuse, sexual abuse, death, pedophilia.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC to review

First of all, this book was insanely bingeable and easy to read; I read it almost all in one evening and overall I enjoyed my time with it. But the ending fell really flat for me, I spent the whole book hoping that wasn’t what the big reveal would be so when it did I was kinda disappointed. Besides that though it was a good thriller, fast paced and entertaining and I didn’t want to put it down. Thank you netgalley for the early copy!!

If you're looking for a fast paced, gripping, easy read, then I highly suggest you pick this up! Right when I thought I had the plot twists figured out, something unexpected would happen. Vi Keeland leaves the readers wanting more.

OMG! This book completely blew my mind! 🤯
I’ve always been a huge fan of Vi Keeland’s writing, and she’s probably one of the authors I’ve read the most. But this book? A chilling yet sexy thriller that truly stands out! From the very first page, I was glued to my e-reader, unable to put it down.
The twists and turns kept me on edge. They turned this into an absolute page-turner, keeping me hooked until the very end.
All I have to say is: Go read this book! You won’t regret it! 🔥📖

Someone Knows is a thriller by the fabulous Vi Keeland. This is a different genre than I am used to reading by this author so when I had the chance to read this book...I jumped. I am so glad that I did.
This is a story about secrets and how they can come back even after you think that secret is buried. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I know Vi, and she always has some kind of "Oh my god" in her books....and did she ever with this one. I was shocked at the ending and also a bit sad...this, shockingly, is not a surprise. I knew she would get me, and she definitely did. Vi is an emotional story teller that will take you on a journey of all the ups and downs. This book was no different and I am not surprised by how much I loved this story. If you love Vi's emotional romance books, pick this one up. You will be glued to the pages needing to know what happens.

I found this book to be an incredibly engaging read. The concept was fresh and unique, offering something new and exciting to explore. What really kept me hooked were the twists and turns throughout the story. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the narrative would take an unexpected direction, keeping me on my toes and constantly guessing. Also. That last chapter?!?

This was a an interesting premise and I have to say I enjoyed reading it.
Elizabeth's spiral and trauma are well written and she's a full character who is shown to be damaged by her relationships with men. But it's nice to see that growth by the end. The process of digging up her past and going back to this small town where it seems that everyone was covering for that creepy man. The use of the book chapters to tell the story of her assault to further indicate that she's distanced herself so much from it is I think clever
There are many twists and turns but it's a satisfying end, except perhaps for the last twist but I think it goes to show again how all the men are. Noah is... interesting. The reveal that I'm pretty sure confirms he and Elizabeth's mother were working together is really interesting. I'm not sure how to feel about it.
An enjoyable read. I will say some parts were predictable but overall I still really enjoyed it.

Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for early access to Someone Knows.
WOW, what did I just read? That was a wild ride. This thriller was dark, twisty, psychologically gripping and even sexy. I was hooked from the beginning.

Thank you, Net Galley, for this ARC. I thought this was a fantastic, fast-paced, and suspenseful read. Elizabeth is a college professor who teaches English. As she is reading one of her students' stories, she starts to feel deja vu as this story happened to her. This leads Elizabeth to go back to her hometown to revisit her past. The story has constant twist and turns to what really happened that keeps you on your toes. As Elizabeth is investigating, she meets Noah, who knows more about the past than meets the eye. I really enjoyed how the story unfolded and that it kept me entertained and wanting to read more. I can't wait to read more thrillers from Vi Keeland!

Elizabeth works as a professor in New York. She teaches a writing workshop. And one day one of her students sends her a couple of chapters to be reviewed that turn Elizabeth's life upside down.
Those chapters tell a story about something that happened twenty years ago and nobody was supposed to know.
Wow! I like Vi Keeland a lot. But I have always read her romance books. This one has been a wonderful surprise. The twists are good and don't make me talk about the end. My mouth is still hanging open. You will love this book.

First I would like to thank Netgalley and Atria books for the ARC of this novel.
I loved Vi Keeland’s transition into thrillers. I haven’t read any of her romance novels but I did love The Unraveling last year. It was one of my favorite thrillers of the year. I was so excited to read this when I got approved.
This was a dark, twisty, sexy thriller that was a quick and fun read. It was maybe a little more predictable then The Unraveling but I still enjoyed it.
I loved the format of how we got the past (with the book writing and getting new chapters dropped throughout the book). I couldn’t wait to get to the next chapter to see what had happened but there were also many times I questioned why the main character was making the decisions she was making.
I actually really enjoyed the final 15% or so until the last chapter. It felt unnecessary. I know authors love to throw in that one final twist but I just feel like this book would have been better without it.
Overall, I will definitely be recommending this book to others.
3.75/5 rounded up to 4 for this review.

Woah… what did I just read?! This book was wild ya’ll! I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end, reading pages so fast just to find out how this was going to end!!! This is published June 17, 2025 and if you are looking for a scandalous thriller - this is the read for you!
Elizabeth thought she escaped her past in Louisiana for her new life in NYC - but when one of her students submits an assignment, it rocks her world. She’s forced to go back and uncover hard truths and memories she thought she left behind forever.
This book talk of trauma, abuse, mental illness, and touched on a lot of deep issues.. it was dark and heavy at times so keep that in mind before starting!
Keeland did an excellent job executing twists and turns when I least saw them coming. I legit gasped at a few out loud!
I hope you guys enjoy this wild ride as much as I did. Thank you to @netgalley and @atriabooks for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

This story follows Elizabeth, an english professor. Decades ago, Elizabeth and her best friend, Jocelyn, murdered their abusive english teacher. Now, she receives a student written story that details this long buried secret, which forces Elizabeth to go back to her hometown and confront her past.
This is a solid, fast paced, gripping thriller. There is romance sprinkled throughout and quite a few spicy scenes- which felt natural to the story and not out of place. From 15% onward, I was completely hooked and on the edge of my seat to find out what was going to happen. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and felt transported into this story. Though, it did take me a while to get invested at the beginning, and unfortunately the ending fell flat for me/ I found it a little disappointing.
Definitely check TW: sexual abuse, cancer, grooming, and death are (imo) the most prominent.
TLDR: although I was slightly unsatisfied and found a few of the twists to be predictable, this is definitely binge-worthy. If you're interested in an engaging, suspenseful thriller with some morally ambiguous themes and characters, look no further.
