This book is such a fun read. It evokes a range of emotions in children and adults. And who doesn't like books about racecars?

The book is well-written, with short paragraphs filled with adventure. The illustrations are well-drawn, colorful, and bring the story to life. The drawings depict a range of emotions, from fear to joy, and the companionship of friends helping one another and facing their fears. Children of all ages will love it!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

This was super fun and perfect for the upcoming Halloween season! My kids absolutely loved the cars adventure and all the spooky things in the Racecar Graveyard. I loved the message of this book, and it gave a good opening to a conversation with them about our fears and what we can do to overcome them!

I this a cool book on racing cars and it's definitely inspired by the movie "Cars". The dialog and the artwork is good. However, nothing spiritual can be found here other that some moralistic lesson that you can find from other secular publishing company.

This seemed like a scary book to be coming from Tommy Nelson Publishers. My 4 year old loves race cars and would normally love a book like this, but I will not be adding this to our shelves. He would freak out. The descriptions of the cars in the beginning were definitely a plus as was the fun the cars seemed to have together when the scary stuff was done. Please write another one minus the scary stuff. Thanks to netgalley and Tommy nelson for the advanced copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

My children and I love the Buster series of books! They are all sweet stories with a character-building message and gentle humor. I highly recommend this children's series for young fans of racecars, which my two boys are! These are always a hit for us. This book focuses on bravery and friendship, and those lessons are always worth reinforcing.

I believe Buster the Race Car is a series and this is the Halloween edition. This was a wonderfully illustrated and easy to follow story for kids who love race cars and are okay with a bit of child-friendly spook. I know so many of my preschoolers would go crazy for this. The description lists the audience as ages 4-8 years old and I do think that's accurate. Can't wait to see this in stores or at the library so I can read it to my class!

An easy reader that explores the meaning of the phrase 'car graveyard', looks at the fun aspects of Halloween, and brings a lesson on facing fears.
The illustrations by Ela Smietanka are exceptionally fun, with brilliant colors, and is delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone aged 4-108, but especially to a waiting room, school, church library, or your local public library!
I requested and received a temporary uncorrected e-proof on Thorium PDF from Tommy Nelson via NetGalley. Pub Date Aug 12, 2025 ***** review #Netgalley

Though I love the idea of "Cars" stories with morals, I wasn't super impressed with this one. Maybe it's because I don't care for Halloween and spooky ghost stories, but I don't think I will recommend this book to any of my friends.
On the positive side, the illustrations are well done and it's got visual appeal for little readers.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Buster and his team decide to visit a spooky car graveyard. They learn an important lesson about overcoming their fears and make some new friends along the way.

This is the 4th addition to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Buster the Race Car series. Buster and the Race Car Graveyard is beautifully illustrated by Ela Smietanka. The book reads like a sweet nod to the author’s late mother and it’s done in such a lovely way.

While the message of the book is important for all ages, I would say Buster and the Race Car Graveyard is geared toward preschool and elementary aged children. This fun Fall picture book would be a great addition to any classroom or home library.

Such a cute and fun read for little ones! My toddler loved the story and the vibrant, playful illustrations. A perfect mix of spooky and sweet for younger readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the eARC!!

I really like this and think the target audience age is perfect. The art is cute and exciting and the story is interesting. Awesome job. Definitely makes me want to check out the rest of the series.

I'm very picky about Halloween books, and this one just missed the mark for the content I want my son to be reading. All the mentions of ghosts and scary stuff makes it a big no for our house.

I think there also are too many characters and things got a bit convoluted and hard to follow about midway through.

Thanks to Tommy Nelson for the digital review copy. All opinions are my own.

Kind of a Halloween entry to this series, as the race cars go to the scary haunted woods, and – well, that would be telling. Just as the other titles so far have had obvious life lessons and morals, this one talks of bravery and being willing to help those in need, although I'm sure the cars would put winning a race ahead of the latter nine times out of ten. That said, the bulk of them are quite friendly to each other – and these books are friendly to their audiences, delivering sensible lessons quite well. This is not the best, but three and a half stars seems too light, so four it is.

This is a great book for children who loves cars and ghosts (or Halloween or other spooky things). The illustrations are excellent. I plan to purchase this book for my car loving nephew.

Overall, this is a really fun and spooky Halloween book for kids that love race cars. However, I feel like there is a possibility of confusion while reading due to the amount of characters involved in the story. About halfway through reading, it became difficult to tell which car was which, and I couldn't match names with faces because there was so much going on. I would definitely caution against this in a kids' book because it's best to keep books such as these simple and clear. Honestly, I would limit the number of ghost cars to one or two, just to avoid having this book be so overwhelming. That aside, I liked the idea and the illustrations of this book, and I think that it was written well. There was just enough writing on each page to push/challenge readers a bit while maintaining the lightheartenedness of the book as a whole. Lastly, the illustrations perfectly captured the spooky yet whimsical mood of the book, which is always awesome.

What a cute story for our littlest readers. My three year old saw the cover of this book and said “ohh that one!” When given an option of several bedtime stories. Cars are always a win in our house!

Buster and his friends are off on a spooky adventure through a haunted car graveyard. Along the way, the group of friends enjoy a laugh, learn empathy for each other, and learn to be brave. And of course, don’t worry, the ghosts are nice!

We really enjoyed the story and the art work in this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Tommy Nelson for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My kids absolutely LOVED watching the Daytona 500- so this was such a fun book to read with my three little boys under five. The story was so fun, and the pictures were wonderfully done. Highly recommend adding this to your sweet boys bookshelf.

A race car graveyard and a spooky haunted forest? Sounds great for a Halloween adventure!

I read this book with my two boys, ages 8 and 4. They were both very engaged with the story. The youngest was inspired halfway through to dig through his hotwheels collection until he found his 'nascar'.

When I asked them what their favorite parts were, this is what they said:
4 year old: "When the friend got stuck in the vines but I thought it was a ghost that got him. I was so surprised!"
8 year old: "The racecar pictures at the front." (lol)

I thought it was a really great story, constructed well by opening with a ghost story before they set out on their adventure. The themes of bravery and getting a little taste of your own medicine were very well done. I personally felt like the setting descriptions were excessive for the format, as every page had big beautiful illustrations SHOWING the setting.

This was our first Buster book and it was a hit for us!

The colour palette and artwork are gorgeous! My son absolutely loved this book. It has all of his favourite things in it. The story was good but the words didn’t roll off the tongue very well so it felt a little clunky to read.
