KMOD books 🤝 twists that make me reevaluate my life for the foreseeable future
I have not met a Kiersten Modglin book that I don't like! I have only read a handful of her work but I have found that she is a consistent thriller author. This book is no different. This solid domestic thriller follows Sadie and Calvin as they take their last trip before their baby arrives. When weird things start to happen and Sadie's paranoia reaches an all time high, every step they take may be their last......
I found this read to be very fast paced and intriguing. The major plot twist that KMOD implements is OUT OF THIS WORLD DUDE. I could have never guessed it. I also really enjoyed the narrator for this, she did a great job!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Dreamscape media for this ARC.

If you're looking for a short-ish mystery thriller, I would definitely recommend this one!
I read this via audiobook and it was only five hours, so I knocked it out pretty quickly!
I did NOT see all of those twists at the end and that's what I want in a mystery/thriller. I want to go "ooooooooo" and I want to gasp. This was full of drama and surprise and suspense. Everyone will make you feel suspicious of them at one point or another. There is drama and suspicion, and everyone has a secret.
I really don't want to say anything else because I do not want to spoil this, so go read it! Overall summary of the actual story though: babymoon gets chaotic.
Thanks to NetGalley for the audiobook ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

This one had me hooked from the beginning, and I couldn’t put it down. The twists and turns were so good, and I honestly didn’t know who to trust. And the secrets, whew, SO many dark revelations by the end. It was a total nail biter. Yes, some twists were a bit over the top, but I still ate it up.
The narrators, Abigail Reno and Jay Myers did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. There is cheating and a few other trigger warnings, so be sure to check those out before diving in. A fun domestic thriller that’s perfect for a one day binge read.

This was phenomenal I was genuinely confused throughout the entire book. It kept me guessing who was being honest and I loved it. The audio was top tier.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC. Nice read!!! Definitely some twists I didn’t see coming. The story is a bit far fetched but it was very entertaining. Told in two timelines/perspectives. Audible narration was good. Definitely a fun little read.

Omg. So heart pounding. So thrilling. So many twist so many turns. Like, I didn't see any bit of it going to happen. I was on the edge of my seat the whole boom.

You know what you are signing up for with this genre. I appreciate that the author keeps her books short. I just listened to The Arrangement by Modglin this week and that one kept me entertained. This book had a similar format alternating with the male and female perspective however, this one I couldn't get into and DNF a quarter of the way through. I found my mind wandering and had to keep rewinding to get back on track. If the plot doesn't grip me in a thriller by the quarter mark, I am on to the next.
Thank you Dreamscape Media and Net Galley for the advanced copy audiobook. All opinions are my own.

I was given the opportunity to ARC read/listen to the audiobook thanks to NetGalley and I couldn't stop once I started. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on the whole book. I did not see the twist coming in the way that it did at all, I had slightly predicted some of it but not the full extent. The ending, while it made sense to end like that, it also felt a little anticlimactic to me. It was still worth the read and I would still recommend as a quick read!

I always look forward to Kiersten’s books and The Last Trip is just the latest addition to my favorites list!
Around every corner is a new twist and I truly could not figure this one out. And when the bomb made itself known….. 🤯🤯🤯!!!
I really enjoyed this and listened to it in one sitting. Narration was awesome.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscrape Meadia for this arc in return for my honest review.

As always…another solid KMod read. I just love her books.
This one gave me vibes of the show “Tell Me Lies” (based on the book by Carola Lovering) but it was also soooo very different. IYKYK. Academia…gotta love it.
This one had lots of twists and a nice helping of female badassery.
As with most KMod books there are WTH moments aplenty.
I absolutely recommend checking this one out. I sat down and read it straight though.

I have read probably 45 of KMod’s 50 books and I have NEVER been able to figure out her twists 🤣
She got me with this one too. The Last Trip is a super short and completely bingeable read - Sadie & Calvin’s baby moon right before she has her baby.. but odd things keep happening and someone has shown up to ruin their plans.

The narrators did great!
Thanks to Dreamscape Media for my ALC

This is the KMod I know and love; quick reads and unhinged characters with an ending that leaves you speechless. Seriously though. What in the heck did I just read? No way on earth could I have seen those twists coming, and yet they weren't completely out of left field either.
The beginning was interesting as we bounce back and forth between a present "her" and past "him" POVs. I was left constantly guessing the past POV, wondering who they were discussing and how it related to the story. And then when the dam broke it all came loose and it was unhinged madness. Was it unrealistic? Probably... Did I care? Not. One. Bit. Lol
The audio was well done. I really enjoyed this very quick listen.

I absolutely LOVED this book! Tons of twists and turns with an ending that will leave your jaw on the floor!
This was a fast-paced domestic thriller with all the twists, drama, and gasp-out-loud moments we've come to love and expect from @kierstenmodglinauthor!
Thank you @netgalley and @dreamscapemedia

I ate this book up it was that good! I love the twists in Kiersten's books. The narrators was amazing in them. The plot was amazing. I love the world building. If you love a book with a good twist, I highly recommend this one!! I loved the characters. The author did amazing with all the details in the story.

I enjoy these books so much as they are a quick read and packed full of twists and shocks. Calvin and Sadie go away to secluded cabin to enjoy a peaceful getaway before the birth of their baby. The couple they are renting from keep showing up and you know something is off but can't figure out what. I was so intrigued to see what happens next and was shocked at the twist that came next. That is why I can't get enough of KMOD books as even when you think you know where the story is going you get pleasantly surprised when you are wrong.
Calvin is a man who is determined to get what he wants at all cost. Lies, betrayal, manipulation all to get the family you crave. Dark academia at its best.

4.5/5 (rounded up)
I love Kiersten’s book, and this one was no exception. I was instantly hooked, and binged this in one listen. I honestly had no idea where this was going, and did NOT see that ending coming!!! Kiersten always does such a great job leading me one way, and making me think I know what’s going to happen, then completely blows my mind!
