I love how this read pulled you in from the very first page thank!!! I love a book that takes and exciting deadly turn love it so good I will recommend

4⭐️! This one took me in for some fun twists and turns! This book gave me the vibes of the Mindf*ck series meeting White Lotus. To start things off, the FMC, Lily, is a serial killer. Are her motives reasonable? That’s for the reader to decide. But what is very clear is that she is a victim of injustice. Her backstory and history involving the Riovan resort was convincing enough to have me rooting for Lily in some ways, and not so much for others.
Both her and Daniel, her romantic interest, are both seekers of justice… just in veryyyy different ways.😅 The way his character is revealed throughout the story had me feeling so many mixed emotions at first. The same goes for a few of the side characters. The plot twists and unveilings were tastefully done and had me second guessing myself at a couple points!
Although this got dark at times, it was a wild and fun ride that genuinely had me wondering about the conclusion of this story. Perfect for the summer, too! Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark and NetGalley for this ARC!

I cannot wait to share this book. The mystery, suspense, the love story it was exactly what my mood was looking for.

A Killer Getaway is a twisted new romance by Sienna Sharpe that shines a light on the delicacy of human psychology. There's a little bit of mystery, a little bit of suspense, set in a idyllic summer resort.
Lily's first visit to Riovan Wellness Resort was with the love of her life, and she's found her way back every year since, despite the deadly accidents that tend to happen every year. This year she meets an attractive man who calls himself Daniel Black. A journalist, sniffing around for a story. He's exactly the kind of kink in her plan she doesn't need...
This is a bit of an odd story. I think maybe the closest actual comparison I might have is Butcher & Blackbird, though this is nothing like the same level of grotesque, graphic, or explicit.
Lily is hurt people. And everyone knows hurt people hurt people. She once saw a perfect future stretching out before her, and she was thisclose to having it. She blames Riovan and the 'coaches' who work there on the disintegration of that future, and she cannot let that stand.
It is an interesting enough story, and I feel like it was probably quite complicated to pull off considering the twist.
I think maybe my reluctance for a high rating stems from Lily being an unsympathetic character and overall muddy messaging. For me, Lily is not really redeemable. It's not okay that she plays judge and jury and to be honest she plays her game pretty cavalierly. There's not really any coming back from that for me. In her eyes people make one mistake, or hurt someone's feelings in the wrong way and...they deserve to die? I mean, she's a full blown psycho. At least in Butcher & Blackbird the victims are atrocious vicious a**holes who deserve whatever they have coming. For me, that makes all the difference.
Does that mean this book isn't worth reading? I wouldn't say that. It's a quick summery mystery suspense that'll surely perk up your weekend!
Note:: I received an early copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

A serial killer lifeguard? You heard that right. The premise is definitely something not done before. Did it work? I think this it was okay. I like Lily and I liked her reasoning for doing what she did.

I enjoyed the book. I was interested when I saw that it was a thriller romance. I mainly read romance books and dabble in thriller/mystery from time to time when I need a change. I thought this would be a good blend of both of my favorite genres to read. I felt like the tension and chemistry between the couple could be more intense. I felt that the story did captivate my attention. However, I wish certain aspects were more developed while others didn’t need to be so detailed. I think overall, the book was great and I would recommend it to others. Not sure I would pick it up again or think about it much after this.

I expect to be on the fence with this one, but I really enjoyed it.
“A Killer Getaway” was a great mix of romcom and thriller. I loved that we had a female serial killer as the main character, honestly, we need more of this. I was a huge fan of Lily, however, some of the other characters I couldn’t stand. I will say, that is probably a good thing though, it shows the characters were well-written and well-thought out.
The one issue I had was that the story jumped a lot which sometimes made it confusing. There were also parts that I felt went on for longer than necessary.
Overall, this was a quick, enjoyable beach/poolside read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebook Landmark for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Lily Lennox is living a double life. On one had she leaves her lucrative business and lifeguards in the Caribbean. So far no one really knows about her other life. You see Lily is a serial killer, but she is choosy about her victims.
One summer she meets a guy at the resort and finds out he is a journalist. This hits a little close to home. Can she keep her distance all the while knowing he could be investigating her?
A little mystery, romance and murder. Welcome to Lily’s life.

I loved the premise of this book so much! I mean who loves the change up and a female lead is the serial killer in this story! The execution of it was sadly just okay though- I think I went in with high expectations though. I feel like a lot of the book felt like “waiting” instead of “anticipating” which is a shame. It still a great quick and easy beach read though and will recommend!

When first heard about this book and saw that it was a female serial killer, my brain immediately said “YES PLEASE.”
For the past 5 summers, Lily Lennox leaves her life and business behind and goes to the exclusive Riovan Resort. Located on a beautiful Caribbean island, people come to this resort to not only relax and enjoy an island get away. But to reshape their body and mind to become to person you were meant to be! But for Lily, she doesn’t come here for her minimum pay life guard gig. She’s really there to right so many wrongs that this place has gotten away with and find her next target and rid the world of evil and toxic people who cause more harm than good. But this year is different; a handsome journalist shows up and starts asking questions to things that no one should be asking about. It doesn’t help Lily how attractive he is and how he seemingly is always there. She can’t help but wonder if he is there for the resort, or to finally end her mission.
This book was really really REALLY good. It had mystery, suspense, hilarious banter, some ✨spice✨ and had moments where you really questioned if two wrongs really can make a right. There were times where I literally could not put this book down because of how many twists and turns there were and i needed to know what was going to happen! I know you aren’t suppose to love a serial killer, but I was totally obsessed with Lily. She was so damn funny when she wasn’t even trying and at times I found myself rooting for her. It was so hard to see through her eyes and how much trauma she has been through. Daniel was also someone who I was surprised that I really liked in the end. I thought for sure I was not going to enjoy his character but he completely shocked me.
So basically if you like FMC that are a little stabby, banter that has you laughing at inappropriate times, a mysterious love interest and a sprinkle of romance and spice. Then this is definitely the book for you🔪♥️🏝️
*Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Landmark, and Sienna Sharpe, the author for the ARC!*☺️

I was excited about this book when I saw it was not the norm romcom since the FMC is a serial killer. Midway I was going to DNF but didn’t. Thank you Netgalley!

This was fun at the beginning, it just didn’t hold my interest fully. This is a temporary DNF, definitely will pick it up and try again.
Thank you so much to the punisher/Netgally for this eARC!

A Killer Getaway is the perfect little palette cleanser for when you need something that to sit back and relax to. Lily has been going back to the Riovan Resort to work as a lifeguard for the past five years. She definitely has a motive… the Riovan is a wellness and fitness resort. They prioritize Fitness and Health. You’ll find Nutritionist and everything you could think of. But Lily goes to find her perfect victim. But only the toxic ones think of her as your friendly neighborhood Dexter but no knife.
The love interest is Daniel. I really liked his character. He does ask a lot of questions… he could be the perfect candidate for Lily.
I can’t believe this is a debut because I think it was pretty well done. It makes me excited to see what Sienna Sharpe has In store for us later on. I really hope it’s more similar to this. It’s kind of nice finding out more information as we go, but we already know who the killer is but maybe not the full picture of why everything is being done.
4.25 stars.
Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark for the complementary copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a fun, soapy read about a serial killer who murders at a wellness retreat each year. It's entertaining, and makes an interesting critique of how "wellness" is marketed to the uber-rich, while also discussing the damage body image and body dysphoria can have on a person's psyche. Unfortunately, I think the book tries too hard to lean into the serious aspects of the plot towards the end, and the very end seems a bit unearned. I also enjoyed the romance but once certain plot points occur, it veers towards the ridiculous. In other words, I think this is fun, but I think it tried to get too serious towards the end, and it didn't quite land for me.

3.6 rounding up to 4 stars.
Tropes:
-Vacation hotel setting
-Female MC
-Suspense
TW/CW:
-Loss of loved one mentioned heavily in book
This book starts out strong and steady. It wasn’t too over the top and kept me coming back to find out what would happen next.
I began to feel conflicted around 40% which is why I brought my rating from 4 stars down.
I didn’t realize this book was about a female serial killer.
I read a book about a woman who goes to work on an island once a year and has a history of getting involved in crimes on the island. There were hints that she was involved but there wasn’t much beyond that in the beginning really. It was not clearly established.
There is a lot of mentions of a family member passing. I believe this was to help strengthen the character development but for me I think it was mentioned a few too many times and I would have really liked to see inside the kind of a serial killer more. There was a lot of self pity this character had and some weird sexy desires but not a heck of a lot beyond that.
Around 60% I was wondering if the book would pick up. It seemed to be complex as it didn’t feel like a popcorn page turner at this point when it was taking me some time to get through it.
The ending I think simply just fell a bit flat. I lost interest as the book went on.
This being said, I realllly enjoyed the writing style, the concept, and the humor within this book. It has really strong elements going for it and I’m definitely wanting to read more from this author in the future because truthfully I think a book like this is really hard to write.
The cover is amazing and I’m pretty happy the book was similar in experience.
I would totally recommend this to someone wanting a fun thriller beach read.
Thank you to sourcebooks for the eARC! I am leaving this honest feedback voluntary.

♡ thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark and Sienna Sharpe for an ARC of this book! ♡
3.5/5 ⭐️ (rounded up)
if you're looking for a FMC who's out for vengeance against people who *probably* deserve it, this book is for you!
📖 plot & pace: this story follows Lily, the FMC (who's also a serial killer during the summer) as she returns to Riovan Wellness Resort for her summer job as a lifeguard. but the only reason she keeps this summer job is so she can kill one person who she deems as "toxic" enough. she's gotten away with it every year so far, with every death covered up as an accident, but this year, Daniel Black is investigating the strange coincidences.. the pace of this story was perfect! there was a nice buildup of Lilys past and her current relationships with everyone at the Riovan.
i will say there were some holes in the plot in the beginning of the story that seemed to be important to the story. this was all done so there was a "twist" at the end of the story, but the some things would've made more sense to include sooner.
👥 characters: our FMC lily and our MMC daniel are super cute together, and Daniel even alone, but lily is super hard to like. even after reading her motives, she seemed a little... unhinged. BUT, this does add to the story and to her character, so no complaints here! the staff at the riovan.. also not a big fan, some of them gave me the ick SO BAD. (@serana)
🤩 tropes: morally grey characters, enemies to lovers, cat & mouse.
the ending wasn't as satisfying as i thought it would be.. leading up to the end, this book had so much potential and i feel like it went in a somewhat different direction. still good, but could've been better!
overall, i'd recommend this book! it's definitely a bingeable book and i'd honestly love to read more about lily and daniel!

I was super excited about this book when I saw it was a darker romcom since the FMC is a serial killer. The book started super strong and sucked me, lost me a bit in the 40% area, and then dragged me back in for the rounded out ending! I enjoyed Lily and Daniel’s interactions throughout the book and how their story ended up. I know there was thought put into the killings but I felt like Lilly was shooting from the hip and it annoyed yet thrilled me. Definitely a great summer or vacation read!
Thank you to Netgalley for providing this ARC.

Thank you, NetGalley for this ARC copy. I was very excited and intrigued by the premise of this book. I would say the pacing was a little bit slow and I wasn’t really hooked until about 50%. I feel like the book was trying to be a romance and a thriller, but fell short in both genres. The romance wasn’t really doing it for me and I was hoping for more twist and surprises throughout the book. Overall, I would say it’s a fun summer read and had a very unique perspective and storyline.

Sienna Sharpe delivers a fun, clever whodunit full of quirky characters, beach town vibes, and a heroine you can’t help but root for. Perfect for fans of lighthearted murder mysteries with a sharp edge.

After hearing this book was about a female serial killer - I was fully sat. Lily was such a complicated FMC and reading her brand of vigilante justice was truly enrapturing. I will say that I don’t think A Killer Getaway was a romcom in any capacity. I would definitely classify this book as emotional suspense/thriller! We dealt with some pretty dark themes and Lily’s trauma runs deep, so I would advise any readers with triggers to check content warnings.
That being said, I feel like this book had the vibes of Layne Fargo’s The Never Learn meets an Emily Henry/ Taylor Jenkins Reid style romance. Very angsty and Lily is super revenge driven, which I always love to see in these kinds of novels. Especially when they have a misguided “good” reason to seek out vengeance.
Overall I really enjoyed Lily’s story, while it wasn’t what I was expecting- I still had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys emotional thrillers!!
