I love a good revenge story!! I was hooked on this story right from the start as we follow Lily Lennox as she shuts down her successful business to make minimum wage as a lifeguard at the exclusive Riovan Wellness Resort…but not all is as it seems…
This book is part beach thriller, part revenge arc, and part dark comedy all with a sprinkle of romance - the genres worked really well together The author also does a great job building this sense of tension and suspense.
Yes I definitely got Dexter vibes - I mean she only went after toxic people! Daniel definitely shakes things up for her and we get this cat/mouse game between them. There were definitely some surprises and twists I didn’t expect!

I love a good feminine rage book and Lily returning to the place that ruined her girlfriend’s life to enact vigilante justice on terrible people sounded like such a fun time!
But things become more challenging on Lily’s 5th visit when a journalist shows up asking too many questions about last year’s mysterious death.
I loved getting inside Lily’s head as she narrowed down her list of potential victims. I was on the edge of my seat as she started to unravel and second guess her plans as she got closer to Daniel.
I found parts of this book a bit predicable but there was a twist at the end that I definitely didn’t see coming. Overall I enjoyed this book and would definitely read more by Sienna Sharp.
Thank you to Sienna and Souecebooks Landmark for this ARC.

Love is all fun and games, but when it becomes deadly then it’s time to run. When a luxury resort falls victim to a string of mysterious deaths, only one person is the culprit. But are they actually doing the resort a favor or dishonor.

This book sounded like a lot of fun, but unfortunately it wasn't for me. The pacing was quite slow, and it didn't really hold my attention. This was definitely more of a character-driven novel and not the twisty thriller I was expecting. It had elements of suspense and romance, but I think it is more accurately described as women's fiction. There were themes of grief and loss and some commentary on beauty standards.
I think I struggled with this book because I found the main character, Lily, to be unlikeable, and I couldn't connect with her. I didn't understand her motivations, and she made so many questionable decisions. While the plot moved at a slower pace, Lily's romance with the MMC, Daniel, certainly did not. It was confusing to me that she jumped into the relationship so quickly, and much of their romance just didn't make sense. I wasn't invested in their relationship and was more interested in the underlying mystery. I think I may have enjoyed this more if it were dual POV or dual timelines, because it would have created more of the tension and suspense I had expected.

While this wasn’t a book that was originally on my radar, I ended up enjoying it. The cover definitely grabbed my attention and so did the title. It was an entertaining, quick read that kept me intrigued from the beginning to the very last page.. I really enjoyed how the story flowed and unfolded. The pacing made it easy to stay engaged. With the setting description, I could easily visualize it in my head while reading. This book was a pleasant surprise, and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this author.

A female serial killer? A resort on a Caribbean Island? Sign me up! The blurb sounded very promising, and the cover is so pretty! It's a mixture of thriller and romance. It's the first time I read a thriller, I wanted to give this genre a try, but sadly, I did not really like it. It's not my cup of tea.
The prologue made me confused. The writing was a bit bizarre. I had to read the sentences a couple of times to understand this part. I just couldn't connect to the main character throughout the story. I thought she was a tad annoying, and it was just a struggle to get through.
I just had high hopes for this book. I looked forward to reading this book, but it seems like thrillers are not for me.

This book was not what I was expecting, but I love book book where you are rooting for the killer. Lily kills to deal with her grief, and even though its not the healthiest coping mechanism, it makes for a great plot! I understand her need for revenge but i do wish she was smarter about it. Watching Lily and Daniel grow closer was a roller coaster, you wanted to kick your feet at the cute moments but also were holding your breath in anticipation of everything falling apart, the closer they got the bigger the downfall was going to be.
Lily had a great back story that gave her character a lot of depth and definitely helped the me understand her point of view but I also wanted to yell at her and tell her to stop while she was still ahead. The ending had me spinning! I did not see that coming! I can't imagine the 180 her life took but also would've loved the see a time jump epilogue of 5 years later. Also would've loved a chapter from at the end from one of her friend's POV to see how they saw the whole turn of events.
This book is great for those that like romance and suspense, I was changing my guesses of how things were going to end the whole time. I have not read a book like this before and enjoyed the originality and change of pace!
Thanks again for the chance to read this book!

Five summers in a row, Lily has returned to lifeguard at the exclusive Riovan Wellness Resort… those five summers have also had mysterious deaths. ☠️
This year starts out like the rest, there’s no shortage of toxic possibilities to choose from, however an attractive journalist arrives and not to better himself.
What will happen when Daniel gets a little too close to the truth?
This was a perfect beach, mystery read to heat up the summer! Lily, morally gray but likable, brings her history to the table as you get through each chapter.
A great mix of a little spice and a lot of dark humor bring this well written novel together. I really enjoyed the ending and thought it was a nice change of pace from the typical.
Thank you to author, Sienna Sharpe, Publisher Sourcebooks Landmark and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. I received an epub and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Honestly all I needed to hear female serial killer and I’m SOLD 😂 I loved the FMC’s vigilante focus on toxic health culture and discussions on disordered eating—bit of a different spin than similar books in this sub genre. I also enjoyed how the FMCs backstory was slowly revealed, with an interesting/surprising twist at the end!
A must read if you’ve enjoyed other cat & mouse serial killer romances like Mindf*ck series by ST Abby, They Never Learn by Layne Fargo, or Wretched by Emily McIntyre!

Though the concept of the story was quite intriguing and I rationalized like Lily how she unalived only the toxic people, it was challenging for me to find Lily likable. Whether that was the intent, I’m still not sure. I felt that Lily was out to help others, but was filling a hole within herself. Usually, in books similar to this, an unlikable character redeems themself in some way at the end, and I didn’t feel that. I found her relationship with Daniel somewhat confusing, especially at the end, and her romantic relationship with her former partner and the regrets she had shared with her were a bit too little too late. They benefited Lily and Lily alone. Overall, this book would make a good book club discussion book because there are many topics to discuss.

Dark, intense, and brimming with suspense, A Killer Getaway takes readers on a gripping ride that keeps you guessing from start to finish. From the moment Lily’s story begins to unfold, the question looms—why has she spent multiple summers as a lifeguard, and what exactly is hiding beneath the surface of this seemingly ordinary setting? Sienna Sharpe masterfully peels back the layers, revealing secrets and dangers that hit with the force of a wave you never saw coming.
The atmosphere is tense and immersive, pulling you into a world where every interaction feels weighted and every detail could be a clue. There are moments that truly stop you in your tracks—the kind that make you think oh wow and compel you to keep turning the pages just to see what’s around the next corner. Sharpe’s pacing is spot-on, balancing sharp bursts of action with quieter, more ominous beats that build a creeping sense of dread.
For fans of thrillers, this is a standout read—one that delivers mystery, tension, and the perfect dose of unpredictability. A Killer Getaway is not just a story you follow; it’s one you get pulled under by, unable to resurface until the final reveal.

I loved the premise of this one, and it went in a totally different direction than I thought it would which was an unexpected surprise. Definitely more spice than I expected, which I don’t mind, but some might. Lily was such a fun character to follow as she’s unapologetic and steady in her course. The ending was solid and tied things up in a satisfying way!

Summery beach read meets a Dexter-esque vigilante killer 🏖🩸 I enjoyed the writing style of this book, its harsh language standing out against the bright resort setting. Lily's story was compelling, and it kept me guessing till the end.
I appreciate a morally grey character as much as the next book girly, but Lily's motives felt confusing. Like the trauma from her mom's experience and her girlfriend were competing? I wanted more suspense from the pacing, and the reveal of her being a vigilante killer was a bit underwhelming. And I didn't buy into the romance - her relationship with Daniel seemed purely physical until suddenly they fell for eachother? If you say so! I can't say I was rooting for their happy ending.
I think murder/mystery lovers might rate this higher than I did. I had a fun time, but it was not my fave.

A Killer Getaway is a darkly entertaining, genre-blending ride that takes a sharp jab at the toxic wellness culture—the relentless pressure to look perfect no matter the personal cost. Sienna Sharpe doesn’t shy away from showing the ugly side of the beautiful, and I was hooked from page one.
The story also digs into the mental toll of guilt and grief, which I found just as compelling as the action and romance. I rarely encounter romance woven into such an unpredictable plot, and the way this book mixes genres kept me on my toes in the best way.
The dynamic between Lily and Daniel? Absolutely electric—think Mr. & Mrs. Smith with an even more volatile mix of passion, danger, and unpredictability. While their relationship had incredible potential, I wished for a bit more emotional depth to really lean into the moral complexities and turbulent emotions that made their connection so intriguing.
And let’s not skip over one of my favorite things: Lily herself. She’s a morally grey FMC… who also happens to be a serial killer. That combination alone would’ve had me turning pages, but paired with the immersive setting and the darkly entertaining tone? It’s a winner.
If you like your thrillers with a dash of romance, a heroine who walks the razor’s edge, and a setting you can sink into, this one’s worth adding to your TBR.

Dexter is one of my favorite series of all time so when I saw a book was about a female serial killer, who wanted justice against a toxic culture / individuals I was intrigued.
Of course love the dynamic then the FMC is the serial killer and the MMC is the one investigating everything. I wouldn't say there were any twists or surprises for me regarding the plot and the direction it went. And the end was alright - I didn't love it or hate it. I think it could have been a little more, but it didn't leave you dissatisfied to the point of being annoyed.
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this ARC!

2.5, rounded up to 3
I don't really know how I feel about this book.
I was expecting a frothy, fun rom-com thriller with some murdery hijinks, and instead got heapings of grief, scathing takes on the beauty and health industry (that I agree with, don't get me wrong), and a lukewarm romance (imo). And, like no thriller or mystery elements.
The writing was really solid, and pulled me in - I think the story flowed pretty well and it was able to keep me reading, even when I wasn't that invested in the characters.
Lily is kind of just the worst. I think a lot of her motives to kill made sense, but I also would have been along for the ride if she was just killing for vibes. I understand her guilt and grief were pushing her, but her reasoning was just all over the place. She also had this really strong resentment towards her hotness that I just could not get on board with.
Like, yeah, I get it - beauty can be a burden. People can and will judge you for it. But you can't tell me that being the beauty standard and in fantastic shape is the same as being shamed for being overweight (and I'm not talking body dismorphia here - Lily knows and acknowledges that she is hot and unnaturally pretty and mentions it multiple times. it made me a little crazy).
I wish we got more of Jessica earlier on in the story, I think it would have made everything a touch heavier.
As for the romance, I simply didn't really buy it. What do these people like about each other? they're both hot and like to lie to each other? cool, I guess.
Also the ending is kind of bonkers.
<spoiler> imagine you're listening to your favourite true crime podcast and all of a sudden he has a new cohost - the woman he loves who just GOT OUT OF JAIL FOR MULTIPLE MURDERS

Murder mixed with romance, what a lovely story for a weekend away. I enjoyed reading this book very much. The fact that this book was written from the killer's perspective and she had completely justified reasons in her mind and kept rationalizing it was a very interesting take that I appreciated. We see Lily struggle with grief mixed with anger, then the possibility of moving on and keeping the status quo. Very soon we see the main love interest and the person who can undo her wrapped in one adds such a layer of complexity to her situation. I had a great time going through Lily's process while she was interrupted many times. I liked the fact that we found things out along the way about Lily's past along with her present. It felt that it was placed and spaced out well. I was glad to see that the ending was not at all what i expected to see. I was thinking that maybe Daniel was going to cover for Lily or help her and not have her be the main issue and place it on other people but I was happy to see that it was not at all that way which was refreshing. I did like to see her emotional journey through dealing with her grief in a way that was realistic because sometimes you cannot move on until years later. At first I thought that there was death that she was grieving, but it turned out to be something different. I did feel that there was some drag during the book but it felt intentional. I did enjoy my time.

This was the perfect mystery to read while on a beach vacation. Lily’s character was so likable, even though she does bad things. As you read more of the story, you find out about the tragedy that happened to her girlfriend and why she comes back every year to kill someone new. I’m not saying I agree with her reasoning, but I can see why these people would be a danger to society.
I really loved Daniel’s character too and he fell first and fell HARD for her, even after finding out her dark secrets. I loved how the two of them teamed up together to take down the Riovan once and for all.
The twist at the end was definitely unexpected and got me, but I feel like what was done was absolutely necessary. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a beachy/summer mystery🖤

I loved this book. It was fantastic! So excited for this author’s career! She is an auto-buy for me!

A female serial killer ….sign me up
This book was a fun read. You can tell the FMC Lily likes routine. Every page I loved her more and more. Lily is back at the Rivoan Resort for a fifth year in a row. She has a fantastic job at home in Cincinnati , so her friends wonder why she always takes a job in the hot sun making minimum wage. She simply tells them “there are hot single rich men vacationing there that’s why”. That’s what she wants them to think but she actually has ulterior motives! The only thing is a pesky journalist who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth.
Enter Daniel a journalist who will stop at nothing to get justice for those who have been forever silenced.
Somehow these to find themselves in a romantic connection but once they discover the truth about each other will they find an everlasting connection despite being total opposites? Find out now by reading A Killer Getaway by Sienna Sharpe
