Biased mother here. My kids absolutely love Halloween and would eat this book up. I love the illustrations; I love the rhyming names (my kindergartener is learning these sounds). This is exactly the type of book to add to our Halloween book library. Stompie the Zombie is great!

This was so cute and fun. The cover and title drew me in immediately. There were tons of Halloween puns and jokes. The artwork was also adorable.
My kids (5, 3, and 1) didn't understand all the references and puns, but I was able to explain things to them. They especially loved the finger food.
This is definitely a book I would pick out for a fun seasonal read for my kids.

Perfect for children who love a good pun, and love all things Halloween. Stompie is a zombie who is excited for his family reunion. Unfortunately, his plans change when he breaks his leg! Now he might have to cancel!! With lots of fun puns and word play this is sure to be a hit with the kids. The illustrations are cute and it's got the perfect Halloween feel. Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the chance to read the book.

I am a sucker for a cute halloween kids book. If I were a teacher this would be one of the ones I would put out during halloween time.

Loved the imagery created through words in this story. Also loved the variety of word play throughout, which not only made this adult giggle, but my son, too! He kept trying to tell me the real words as the zonbiefied words were interjected throughout. Also loved the idea behind the family and how “close” they were. Such a cute storyline! Thanks for the opportunity to read!

This was a cute book! I'd love to add it to our library collection- I know students will be interested in the spooky characters and the fantastic illustrations. I think it will be especially popular around Halloween.

I loved the illustrations and all the puns! A fun quick spooky read that isn’t scary perfect for my little nieces and nephews to read

This would be a great addition to Halloween displays and bookshelves. The illustrations were great (not scary) and the puns had me chuckling the whole time. It was also a good story about disappointment and resilience. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read

It doesn’t need to be Halloween to enjoy this story about a zombie who is getting ready for a family reunion. A really cute story for the whole family!

Stompie is planning the first family reunion in 500 years. Unfortunately he breaks his leg and has to stay in the hospital. With the help of Itchy Witchy it turns out well. I like how the author used the play on words and creative names. The characters are well done and very detailed. This would be a great gift for Halloween.

This was a clever picture book. It hits all the Halloween boxes, the characters are cute and Stompie was a little charming. The illustrations were vibrant and eye catching. The style in which the characters were drawn would appeal to lots of children. The use of puns in the book will be entertaining for both adults and for children who can grasp the play on words. Being a teacher, I think this book would be great to read around Halloween as a perfect text.

I received a copy of this eBook from netGalley for a honest review.
This is a fun Halloween picture book for those who like a laugh and puns with their scares.

3.5/5 rounding up to 4 stars! Thanks, Netgalley and Two Lion for this eARC of Stompie the Zombie by Margery Cuyler. I got this from the "Read Now" option and I picked it because I thought that my son would enjoy this because he just learned about stomping his feet.
It was a super cute and fun book to read, but I don't think it would be a good read to a large group because there were a lot of cute puns that flew over my kid's heads LOL. Maybe not meant for kids younger than...7? I got this book mainly for my 4 year old...def too young for this book.
Overall, cute story, funny jokes, and unique colorful illustration. I would def like to give this a try when my kids are a little bit older.

Perfect little book to read to your child at Halloween. The artwork style was really cute as well. Enjoyed it very much.

Stompie has a family reunion ( the first in 500 years!) but he injures himself and its pretty sad about it, maybe we wont be able to see his family after all...
Filled with snappy jokes and clever comments, we see Stompie experience the meaning of a family in less than 50 pages.
Not everything has to be super deep, sometimes it can just be fun, and have a simple meaning.
Perfect for young children who are venturing in the lecture world, but they do not know too many words yet.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC!

Super cute illustrations and story. I'm a sucker for puns so this was so entertaining to me. I can't think of a better term to describe it than cute and creepy.

This book is filled with puns and spooky jokes. I don't believe it will make a good read aloud to a large group as puns are lost on many at times. This is a super fun book that will surely please many that choose it--Halloween is a BIG deal in the children's lit world! Kids go crazy for scary, and this will hit that itch they get!

This is going to be such a fun read aloud book to my students in the library! Halloween books usually fly off my shelf durning October. This story about Stompie was so cute and perfectly highlighted some fun twists on words for kids/students to catch up on!

A delightfully undead romp with quirky, vibrant art that makes zombies feel both goofy and oddly relatable. Stompie is equal parts spooky and sweet, and the visual style leans into the chaos in the best way possible.

Quick story full of zombie puns. Probably best for ages 3-1/2 to 7. Fun for Halloweentime. Illustrations are very cute.
