I really enjoyed this gluten free cookbook, which had lots of recipes for standard dishes but also for fun things that are generally hard to have once you can't have gluten, such as ravioli, pierogies and potstickers. Most modern GF cookbooks just have you purchase premade gluten free ingredients like pasta or have you use store-bought mixes that will give you terrible results for dishes like these so you rarely get recipes for this kind of dish anymore. Since Brown gives actual recipes to make the doughs (or clever ways to substitute, like rice papers for wonton wrappers or GF ice cream cones to hold canolli fillings), it's possible to actually make these dishes again.

I like that Brown goes into details of what each type of gluten free flour or starch does in recipes, like tapioca starch helps get things crisp, brown and chewy. This allows you to learn to tinker with recipes yourself when developing your own GF recipes for old favorites. I also like that she provides three general recipes for GF flour mixes you can make yourself.

Nutritional information is provided for each recipe, along with FODMAP substitutions and icons to let you know what's vegan, egg-free, soy-free and so on.

The bad news is that there were no photos on the version I read (Kindle), other than a family photo in the intro. Mine was a review version (recently discovered misfiled on my Kindle) so they may have been added later. Other than that, I'm quite happy with it. This is a great cookbook with a lot of recipes I'm eager to try.

I found this book to be useful and the recipes easy to follow. My teenage daughter needed to change her diet and we together were able to follow some of these recipes to help with that. There is a section on different flours for example that I found useful. Also, something the author speaks of that I did not think about was cross contamination. I think about when cooking other foods but did not with this type of cooking, so that was good to know. A very good book.

I had every intention of reading this book and writing an honest review but it expired before I had the chance. My apologies, If you like to resend it to me I would be happy to get it reviewed,

Great Gluten-free cookbook and as the title states, hassle-free. So easy to follow and for someone like me with a Fructose intolerance, many tips on how to make the recipes FODMAP friendly.

Delicious and interesting recipes that will allow me to cook and serve some interesting new dishes that my stomach can tolerate.
