As an American this was … upsetting to say the least. Especially since this was published before he was elected a SECOND time. I’m sure it goes without saying that these parallels were not shocking but to see them elaborated in such an extensive way was.

During Trump's first campaign I had recently completed a University course on Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust and I couldn't help but make connections between some of his rhetoric and that of Hitler's. Now that we are seeing him come back into power, it is even more clear the connections between the two leaders. I appreciated that this book focused mainly on Trump and his actions or quotes as I already have a pretty good understanding of the history, though some readers may need a bit more background information to fully understand the connections between the two. History repeats itself, and while some might fear that there is not much we can do at this point, the more knowledge you have the better when it comes to human rights and freedoms. Thank you netgalley and the publisher for making this text available to readers like myself.

This book is one of the most intriguing books I have ever read, from the cover to the title I was intrigued by the topic. From the moment I started reading I was hooked, the writing is interesting and well researched and the topic
Is incredible. There are a number of key points where I had to go back and read entire sections again, as the points made are incredible.
For anyone with an interest in history and politics, this is well researched and well written and a must for anyone with even a remote interest in global politics.

Donald Trump in the Footsteps of Adolf Hitler seems to be a deeply researched and analysis of Trump's rise to power and its implications for democracy. Geir Sivertsen presents a compelling case, drawing on historical parallels and present-day events to highlight the dangers of authoritarianism. What I appreciated most was the balanced approach—while critical, it encourages readers to think critically about their political choices rather than blindly accept narratives. This book isn’t just a history lesson; it’s a wake-up call.

Buckle up, because this book does not tiptoe around the hard truths! Donald Trump in the Footsteps of Adolf Hitler is the kind of read that makes you put your coffee down, yell "Are you serious?!" at least three times, and then immediately Google everything to double-check the facts—spoiler: Sivertsen did his homework. Whether you love Trump, hate him, or just want to understand how the heck we got here, this book lays it all out with receipts. Read it, discuss it, and for the love of democracy—pay attention. 📖🔥🚨

When I saw this book, I was immediately intrigued. The reality is that I’m an American who didn’t vote for Trump but was curious to see the step by step comparisons of Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.
The read was interesting, seeing the comparisons was eye opening even though it’s become even more apparent that you can closely compare the two of them since he took office again.
An important thing to note about this book is that it was written leading up to the election as what seems to be an attempt to get Americans to open their eyes to the dangers of who they may be electing as President.
I am not willing or able to say that this book was written in a nonpartisan manner - the mere comparison to the current President to an infamous Dictator means that he isn’t nonpartisan. But he is honest and level headed as he discusses Trump’s life - including both his failures and achievements.
I must admit that I found myself wanting to hear the thoughts of the author on the current administration- including DOGE which is barely mentioned and Elon Musk’s role in the current administration as you have to remind yourself that this was released months prior to the election. In fact, the book was published in the same month that Kamala announced she was running. That being said, it can be a bit dated.
This book is an interesting read if you want to hear the beginnings of Donald Trump, a thorough review of his actions as 45th president, and a in depth analysis comparing the former Dictator and current President. That being said, I would like to hear the author’s thoughts on this term at the end of it all.
