Two sisters on trial blaming each other for their father’s murder… YES. Sign ME UP. Cavanagh does an amazing job with sucking you in until the end.

Fifty Fifty is the fifth book in the Eddie Flynn series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Two sisters on trial for murder, both accusing the other.
All of the details, the twists, the evidence, it was hard to determine who had actually committed the crime. But I was so sure I knew who it was. It couldn’t have been the obvious answer.
When it finally clicked, I was shocked. And impressed, honestly. That the one who had done it was that smart (and crazy).
This was a page-turner full of suspense and it was a fast-paced read.

Wow this is a twisty turny novel. You think you know where it is going but atlas another turn. A trial is about to begin and Eddie Flynn has to partner with another attorney in the best interest of the clients. Three months earlier, two separate 911 calls had been received, a minute apart. Two sisters, Alexandra and Sophia, each calling for help and accusing the other of killing their Dad and fearing that they could be next. Eddie Flynn, Sofia’s defense attorney has his work cut out for him. With both sisters on trial, each with a fifty-fifty chance of being guilty, it is up to Eddie assisted by former FBI Agent turned PI Harper and his mentor recently retired Judge Harry Ford to prove Sofia’s innocence. The reader is pulled one way and then another, as is the jury. Eddie and the opposing counsel, Kate, begin to realize that there is evil in the courtroom. One of these lawyers will find themselves on the losing side. The outcome will be interesting. Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley.

I was so proud of myself for guessing this one! A high stakes courtroom thriller where nothing is as it seems. It’s got all the twists and drama you could ever want and will literally leave you guessing until the very last page.

While this is not my first Steve Cavanagh book, it is my first time reading in the Eddie Flynn series. No, I am not an animal and generally prefer reading a series in order, the premise this book hooked me. However, even though I broke reader code here and started a series at book #5, I do not feel like it detracted AT ALL from my enjoyment of the book.
Fifty Fifty is a fast-paced, twisty legal thriller that literally kept me hooked from the first chapter. The premise - two sisters each accusing the other of the murder of their father - sets up a gripping legal drama filled with clever misdirection, strong character development, and lots of surprising turns.
I thought Cavanagh delivered a smart, page-turning thriller. Read if you enjoy legal dramas, psychological suspense, and a main character who is a little bit shady, but has a lot of heart.

A clever tale by Steve Cavanaugh...you'll enjoy figuring out which sister is lying (they're accusing each other of murder!

Steve Cavanagh's Fifty Fifty presents an intriguing premise: two sisters on trial for the murder of their father, each accusing the other. While the courtroom drama unfolds with tension, the narrative occasionally feels predictable, lacking the sharp twists that characterize the best legal thrillers. The character development is adequate, but some secondary characters remain underdeveloped, leaving their motivations unclear. The pacing is steady, though certain sections could benefit from more dynamic progression. Overall, Fifty Fifty is a competent addition to the Eddie Flynn series, though it may not stand out as a memorable thriller.

This was my first book by this author but it will definitely not be my last. This was the a great she said, she said who dun it mystery. I kept going back and forth on who I thought was guilty. The author did a great job of making it look luke it could be either sister. While i would consider this more mystery than thriller, I still very much enjoyed my time with these characters. I really loved the court room/legal parts of the book. If you are in the mood for a legal mystery that will keep you guessing, check this one out.
Thank you Atria Books for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Another knockout from Steve Cavanagh! I love Eddie Flynn and the way he commands the courtroom, and Fifty Fifty might just be his wildest case yet. The concept is absolutely crazy—two sisters accusing each other of murder—and it makes for a tense, addictive read. I also really enjoyed the addition of Kate, a powerful new female character who brings so much to the story. A brilliant courtroom procedural with twists that got me good.
Thank you Steve Cavanagh, Atria Books, and Netgalley for the advanced copy!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.
I absolutely love this author and this book just solidified it. Besides a few editing misses the story was engaging, well-paced, interesting characters, and keep you guessing. Will definitely continue to read all his books!

I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. It took me soooo long to finally get into it and actually stay invested in what would happen next.
Once we were there, it was good. Good not great. The premise was super interesting and wanting to know who did it was probably the only reason I stuck with it. I am glad I did though!
Also, Kate is a boss ass bitch 💅🏻 that ending had me smiling and thinking “good for her.”
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this arc!

Classic Steve cavanagh with another amazing plot for a mystery book. This one keeps you guessing until the last page with great insights into the characters.

I just couldn’t get into this one. The premise had promise with its dueling-sisters setup, but it never fully hooked me and fell flat overall.

Fifty Fifty is the first Steve Cavanaugh book I have read. I didn’t realize going in that it was part of a series or that this book was actually a republish. I generally love legally thrillers but found myself lost at times, maybe due to not having read the background books. I enjoyed the main characters, found the sisters to be despicable, and thought it had a unique plot. It did drag slightly for me and felt a bit long but overall I felt it was a solid legal thriller. 3 ⭐️

Another amazing Eddie Flynn novel. I really thought i had figured out who the killer was but nope. This book will have you going back and forth on which sister is the murderer and you won’t see the ending coming! This book pulls you in within the first chapter and won’t let you go until you finish the book. There wasn’t a lot of slow parts of the book which i appreciate because my attention span is not great lol

If you love legal thrillers then this book is for you. I love Eddie he is street smart and he knows his way around a courtroom. This was a fast paced twisty book. I really enjoyed my time reading it. It is part of a series but it can stand alone. I gave it three stars and will recommend to friends.

Oh my god this was so good! I was completely hooked from the beginning. The story was faced paced, twisty, and I couldn't guess the ending.

Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh was a twist and turn read! I thought it would be easy to figure out who the suspect was, but I couldn't! I was constantly going back and forth the entire book. I loved the dynamic between the characters and just the overall suspense that was throughout the book. I definitely feel like this could be read as a standalone. I haven't read any previous books prior to this and I didn't feel like I was missing information.

Didn’t realize this was part of a series until I’d started, but that’s ok! It works as a stand alone!
I dug the story even if it didn’t grab me like I’d hoped, but felt the characters were a bit inconsistent?
Would I have read it had I known it was the fifth in a series I’d never picked up? Probably not. But I’m not mad I did.

Fifty fifty was my first book in the Eddie Flynn series and I am hooked! The book begins with 2 sisters calling 911 to report the stabbing death of their father, a former NYC mayor, with each sister accusing the other sister of the crime. The book takes off from there, with many twists and turns. This was a really great thriller that had me totally invested and turning the pages. Will definitely continue to read in this series. Thank you to the publisher and NetGally for an advanced digital copy in exchange for an honest review. 4 stars.
