This is my second book by Steve Cavanagh and my first of the Eddie Flynn series. I do think this could be read as a stand alone, as I did not even know it was a series and I was never confused or lost.
A father murdered, two sisters blaming each other. A book full of twists flipping between the POVs of both sisters lawyers, leaves you guessing until the very end… Who is the real killer?
I loved all of the characters. This book was great and drew me in from the start. I seriously recommend this and I will be looking forward to my next read by him!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read by him AND I SAY THIS ATE, LEFT NO CRUMBS. Although I did figure out the ending way early on, the storyline kept me in a chokehold — especially part 4. I think I’m going to pick up the series and read it in order this time. By far my favorite crime thriller author!
Thank you NetGalley and Mr Cavanagh for this ARC!

Thank you to Atria Books, Steve Cavanagh, and NetGalley for the copy of Fifty Fifty.
I had not read any books by Mr. Cavanagh before this one, but have heard good things, and the blurb sounded good. Little did I know, I would be sucked in and couldn’t wait to see where the journey took me! I enjoyed the multiple points of view this was told from. I definitely recommend this one!

I have read a few books by this author and really enjoyed them. This book was no exception. So many twists and turns. It kept me guessing the whole time. Just when you think you know, you are wrong! Amazing book, well written and easy to read.

I did not realize that this book is in the Eddie Flynn series which I was not a fan of so I will not be reading g this book.
I am not going to review this book anywhere because it’s a personal preference on the series, not an issue on the authors part.
I am sorry for the inconvenience!

3 stars. I love the Eddie Flynn series and was super excited to read this one. It was good, but I just expected more. I felt like the ending was sort of predictable. The book was set up to point to Alexandra so it wasn’t surprising to me that things switched gears as the final twist. I still thought it was good and will continue to look forward to more Eddie Flynn.

I just could not get into this book. The writing was good, I just didn’t care for any character. I could not care for the characters or how things turned out. There was a lot of “lawyer-jargon” that mostly went over my head (I’m not against reading lawyer or court based books, but from my past experience- usually the author's explain things along the way).

4.5 stars! Steve Cavanagh is becoming a fave auto-buy author, specifically these Eddie Flynn books are SO good! The characters in this one were great, the structure of the book kept me hooked with the mysterious "she" chapters... not knowing who's POV it was, and of course the plot twists! I love how fast paced the book feels while still be so well thought out and never leaving any stones unturned.

I didn't realize this was part of a series, and while you don't need to read the earlier ones, it does help to know the main character better. The beginning started with a boom but didn't quite keep the pace.

First thank you to atria and NetGalley for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars
Synopsis: Sophia and Alexandra are sisters that have been through a lot. Their father is murdered and each one blames the other. Now Eddie Flynn has to figure out who really did it?
What I liked: these novels are so fun fir me to read. I devoured it in a couple of days. Eddie Flynn is a con man turned lawyer and loved to see his crew origin story. The story premise was so unique with the two sisters accused of their dads murder and pitting against each other in court. He drew each as opposite of each other which added to the fun. Of course Eddie always has tricks and loved what he did in this book. The subplot which I will not spoiled but had the best ending. Loved it.

Sista sistaaaa 🎶
When a man is murdered and his two daughters are both present at the apartment and BOTH make their own 911 call, it's a challenge to determine who is the guilty sister. I mean...how do you figure it all out?! This was such a great plot and I was hooked and invested.
I enjoy when an author can make me perform mental gymnastics. Steve Cavanagh is King of the court room with his crime thrillers and an autobuy author for me. I love all the suspense, clever writing, and the many twists & turns this book takes. I enjoy following along with Eddie Flynn's story, and although this is book 5 in a series, I think it can easily be read and appreciated as a stand alone.
Obviously I'll be on to the next one because once you start an Eddie Flynn novel, it's nearly impossible not to crave the next.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the arc!
This book is #5 in the Eddie Flynn series. In this title, Flynn is an attorney representing a young girl accused by her sister of murdering her father. Flynn’s client has flipped the script and blamed her sister for the crime.
This is a twisty read that will keep you changing your mind about which sister you actually believe. If you enjoy a fast-paced read that you don’t want to put down, this book is for you!
What I Liked:
The main character, Eddie, is a smart and witty lawyer. Seeing as this is my first read in this series, I’m definitely not stopping here. I’m gonna get my hands on any Eddie Flynn book that comes out. I enjoyed that our boy Eddie is on the right side of history — not bowing down to the white supremacist that makes an appearance — and being an ally to a fellow lawyer, Kate, as she represents the other sister.
What I Didn’t Like:
Literally nothing.

An entirely engaging thrill ride! This was my first of Cavanaugh's work but certainly won't be my last! A compelling conceit, entertaining characters, and a brisk pace ensured a positive reading experience.

This was my first Steve Cavanagh book, but it won’t be my last! This was one suspenseful thrill ride of a whodunnit! It was named well, because I kept going back and forth on which sister I thought was the guilty one!
It’s a really great premise for a mystery and opens with a bang! The book opens with the 911 call made from each sister within a minute of each other, each call accusing the other sister of killing their father. There’s no slow buildup, you’re just dropped right into the middle of a whodunit between 2 sisters, and it keeps up its fast pace through out the book…there’s no slow sections or losing interest in this one! If you like a good mystery/suspense, I definitely recommend this one!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this story. The author did a great job setting up the plot and making me thinking it was going to turn out one way and then threw in a few great twists at the end that really kept me on my toes.

This was different than any other thriller I’ve read before.
Two sisters on trial for murder. They accuse each other. Who do you believe?
I liked all the different POVs we got, including one from the killer. I liked how gripping it was, and the twists were done well. I think the writing was really good, I’ll definitely check out more books by this author.

Loved it! Two sisters are on trial for the murder of their father and former Mayor of NYC. Both are accusing each other of murdering him and it's up to the jury to discover which sister is lying or if they planned it together. What more is there to say? Great plot!!!

courtroom drama is the best kind of drama and thats a fact.
and what do you get when two sisters, arrested for the same murder, blame each other? you get drama. lots and lots of entertainingly suspenseful drama. and SC truly has a gift at transporting the reader directly into that courtroom. i will tell you what - i was split 50/50 right until the very end. the story narrative is structured in a very clever and secretive way, i had no idea which sister truly did it.
im not quite sure i enjoyed the addition of a second lawyer POV. i mean, i understand the necessity of it, but it definitely took page time away from my man, flynn. i feel like he doesnt get to shine as much as he does in previous books. the story doesnt suffer because of this, its just a personal opinion/preference.
also, i love that this can be read as a standalone. so anyone out there who feels intimidated (or lazy, if youre like me. lol) by the #5 but thinks the synopsis sounds interesting, then go ahead and pick this up. you will still get a full and rewarding reading experience!
Thank you for the publisher for the e-arc in exchange for my honest feedback !

Thank you Netgalley!!
I felt like I was hanging on to a rollercoaster for this one .. and in a good way.. This book will have you second guessing every noise and everything around you. I could not stop reading this book. Just be prepared to not do anything else once you start this book because you wont put it down. Excellent work!!!

Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh--A twisty legal thriller new to the US on 6/3 (was released in the UK in 2020). The former mayor of NYC has been brutally murdered in his home and his 2 daughters have both called 911 claiming the other sister as the murderer. Told from multiple POVs, the trial unfolds with many misdirects and hints as to which sister is the actual killer. I thought Cavanagh did a great job of keeping me guessing about the killer and if she would get away with it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.
