I had only red one Steve Cavanagh book before, Thirteen, and was pleased to find the same twists and turns in this legal thriller. This novel is about a criminal murder trial, but the defendants are two sisters who each insist the other one killed their father. There is an omniscient "she" point of view, from the perspective of the unnamed killer, so the reader gets to try and solve the case alongside attorney's Eddie and Kate. Will keep you guessing until the end!

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the copy of this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion of the book.
Steve Cavanagh does it again with this Eddie Flynn book! The twists and turns….
The dual defendant perspective definitely keeps you guessing. Each time you read from one’s perspective you think you have it figured out of who is guilty. And then it switches to the other defendant and you think you’ve got it wrong. He keeps you guessing throughout the whole book and it is truly a great suspenseful ride.
Two sisters. The father murdered. One of them did it.
Both of them were in the house
Who did it?
You think you know. But do you?
Read the book and see how many times you change your mind.
Masterful writing and I enjoy that the legal aspects are written in a believable way.
If you want a well written legal thriller, these books are for you.

Steve Cavenaugh's "Fifty Fifty" is a total rollercoaster ride that'll keep you flipping pages like crazy. The writing flows easily and the plot twists come at you fast and furious, making it perfect for when you just want to sink into your couch and escape for a bit.
The only downside? After a while, you start expecting the unexpected, which kinda takes the punch out of all those "gotcha" moments. Still, it's a solid three-star read that does exactly what it promises - entertains you without making your brain work too hard. Worth picking up when you need a quick thriller fix!

This is book 5 in the Eddie Flynn series. It can be read as a standalone but is better read in order in the series.
I really enjoy this authors writing style so will be looking for the rest of the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC

I am rating this book 4 stars. The author had my attention from the beginning, but the book was very slow and hard to keep my focus for a good bit of the book. After about 70%, the book picked up pace and I couldn't put it down. The book was well written and it showed that the author did a lot of research to make sure to give as much accuracy to the book as possible. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have received this ARC and hope others enjoy the book as much as I did.

Steve Cavanagh delivers a stellar legal thriller. Fifty Fifty is a great example of a novel with drama and psychological unease done well. The morally twisted characters and sharp dialogue complement the plot. The story’s twists caused me to second guess everything.
The concept is both simple and brilliant: two sisters call emergency services to report the murder of their father. Each points the finger at the other. One of them is lying.
Fifty Fifty found a great balance between pace and character. The tension never lets up, but we still get glimpses into the minds of the lawyers and the accused. And the alternating POVs build suspense without giving too much away.
Like others, I was unaware that this was 1) part of a series and 2) not a new release. I found that neither item made much of a difference to my enjoyment however. If you’re into legal thrillers and stories that mess with your head - this one’s for you.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the e- copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for gifting me a copy of this title in exchange for my honest review.
This one didn’t hit as well as some of the other Eddie Flynn books have in the past. This was slightly less conventional than Cavanagh’s previous titles and while it was compelling, I didn’t feel as invested with these characters as I normally do. The pace was also a bit slow for me. Three stars.

Fifty Fifty is another standout from Steve Cavanagh! I was completely hooked from page one. The courtroom drama, the tension between the sisters, and the meticulous detail behind the killer’s actions made for such an intense and gripping read. It’s chilling to think about how easily someone so dangerous could be hiding in plain sight.
I really appreciate that even though this is part of the Eddie Flynn series, it works perfectly as a standalone. I never felt lost or like I was missing key information, which is a true testament to Steve’s storytelling. That said, I’ve officially decided to start the series from the beginning—he’s quickly becoming a new favorite author of mine.
Thank you to Atria Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. I’m excited to continue diving into more of Steve’s work!

This grabbed me in from the very beginning. I love a good whodunnit mystery. The plot was perfect and the that were not what I expected!

I didn’t realize when accepting this widget that the book was part of a series, not a standalone. I also didn’t realize it was a rereleased book and not a new release. I got 20% in and decided that it really just wasn’t for me based on those things and the fact that it’s more of a police procedural rather than a thriller like I had thought from the description. I’m sure readers who have read other books in this series, enjoy police procedurals, and courtroom drama books will really love this book!
Thank you very much to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review.

Thank you to NetGalley and @AtriaBooks for this ARC.
911 call - Come quick, my sister Sophia killed my father.
911 call - Come quick, my sister Alexandra killed my father.
Both now being tried for murder and Eddie Flynn takes on one case, while Kate takes on another. Which one is innocent and which one is guilty.
A re-release of Book 5 in the Eddie Flynn series but can be read alone. This book grabbed me from page one!! Cavanagh throws in another narrative of the killer that I found myself scouring the chapter for clues to figured who did it. What a good one!!!

I honestly had a very hard time getting into this book. But by the middle book I was more into the book and wasn't able to put it down.
this book is about two sisters blaming each other for the murder of their father. They both are being represented by high end lawyers who both think there clients are innocent. through out the book more murders take place of witnesses and other people tying to the case. including one of the investigators on one of the sisters defense team. At the end there's a shocking twist of who the true killer is exposed and how she tries to escape.

Great courtroom drama that had me guessing until the end. Excited to read more from this author. Enjoyed every page!

If you are looking for a good twisty psychological thriller, this is the book for you. I didnt realize it was in a series but it was good as a stand alone as well. Its hard to give this book the review it deserves without spoiling it. Its a thriller about sisters and if the opening line of this book doesn't pull you in then I am afraid nothing will. I will be running to the store to buy a copy and also getting the other books in this series. Such a great and fun read!! Thanks NetGalley!!

I enjoy legal thrillers in general but really liked this one. The sisters keep you guessing about which one is guilty for quite a while. Sofia is the obvious choice with mental health issues an a history of harm/drug use but does that mean she was set up? Or is she playing 3D chess and making it seem that way?
This is a re-release of the book and the 5th in a series focusing on Eddie, Sofia's lawyer. I didn't feel like I missed anything by not reading the previous books and the majority of characters are new.
The multi POV works, with chapters from both lawyers and "she" from the killer, but at times, Kate and Eddie were very similar in voice rather than Kate being a woman and much newer to trial cases. It is a quick read with good pacing and I am happy I guessed the correct sister but ooof on that reason for the murder.
In the earlier scenes, I expected things to go another way with Eddie and Kate, I am glad it wasn't a relationship because that plot is stale but a little unbelievable that the Alexandra wouldn't have just gone with another law firm instead of someone who believed her but had zero experience at trial given the amount of evidence. Otherwise, a really enjoyable legal thriller.

I just love Steve Cavanagh. Fifty Fifty was another one that had me flying through pages to see what would happen next. Highly recommend.

This one started off good for me but then it dragged in the middle of the book. It did pick back up though and had some really good twists throughout. Good mystery!

When I chose this selection, I was unaware that it was a republication—or a fifth installment in the Eddie Flynn series by Steve Cavanagh. That said, it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone novel; I had not read any of the previous books in the series, and at no point did I feel confused or out of my depth.
The story is gripping and fast-paced, filled with numerous twists that maintain a high level of suspense throughout. The central plot revolves around two sisters, Sofia and Alexandra Avellino, who are both accused of murdering their father. Intriguingly, each sister accuses the other, and both were present at the scene of the crime. They each made separate 911 calls that night, and the reader—along with the jury—must determine who is telling the truth.
Eddie Flynn, acting as Sofia’s defense attorney, serves as our entry point into the legal drama. Through him, we get glimpses into both his character and Sofia’s. On the other side of the courtroom is Kate, representing Alexandra. Her storyline also provides insight into Alexandra’s character as well as Kate’s personal background. The narrative skillfully keeps the reader guessing; I found myself alternating between the sisters in my attempts to determine who was guilty—a testament to the author’s ability to maintain suspense.
That said, I did have some concerns, particularly with the plausibility of Kate’s storyline as it progressed. Certain developments near the end of the book felt far-fetched, detracting somewhat from the overall credibility of the narrative. Additionally, I found it unusual that the two sisters, while out on bond, seemed to be completely unsupervised—an element that raised questions for me.
This was the second book I’ve read by Steve Cavanagh, and while I appreciated many aspects of his storytelling, I’ve come to the conclusion that his writing style may not align with my personal preferences going forward.
Nonetheless, this was an engaging and entertaining read that I believe many readers will thoroughly enjoy.

If you love an awesome courtroom whodunnit ! Then this is for you ! This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first relay call of the 911 call ! This was so good I couldn’t put it down ! The roller coaster with twists and turns . Awesome read !

Great read! This book will have you guessing at every turn. Just when I thought I was sure, something would change. I very much appreciated not only the big twists but the little details laid throughout that left breadcrumbs. Definitely a slow burn but well-written and engaging throughout. Eddie and Kate captured my heart.
