This book was a JOURNEY. Kill for Me, Kill for You by the same author might be my favorite thriller of all time so I was really excited to read this one. The story follows the murder of a prominent New York politician and both of his daughters blame each other. The story takes place while they are on trial and is told from the perspective of their two lawyers and the killer but the killer is kept anonymous the whole time. It kept me guessing the entire time and it felt like every other chapter I was changing my guess at who the killer was.

BOOM. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Just when you think you have t all figured out it twists and turns and keeps you hooked right until the end. I loved that I could read this as a stand alone and it still made perfect sense even though it is part of a series. Thank you Netgalley, Steve Cavanagh, and Atria Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Jeez oh Pete, Steve Cavanagh led me on a rollercoaster through this book. I kept flipping back and forth of who did it then BAM something else gets introduced. Such a good book that kept me hooked throughout it.

Once I started Fifty Fifty, I did not put it down until the last page! Holy fast paced legal thriller! It is just what I expected from Steve Cavanagh.

Two 911 calls from within the same house. Two sisters. Their murdered father. Both sisters claim their innocence and point the finger to their sister as the killer! WHAT A PREMISE!

The various points of view from the story really added to the flow and movement of the plot. I especially loved the She chapters, seeing through the eyes of the murderer but not knowing which sister's perspective it was! Such a suspense builder! I found myself thinking I knew who it was, but then second guessing myself over and over!

A riveting read! Highly recommend!

Fifty-Fifty was an okay read for me. It had a few twists I enjoyed, but overall, it didn’t quite pull me in the way I’d hoped, and much of it felt predictable. Thank you, NetGalley and Atria Books, for the ARC!

I know this isn't a new release but this was such a fantastic book!! I loved the two sisters aspect and how there was the POV from the killer. Eddie Flynn is such a lovable character and I love diving in to his world!

Wow. I devoured this book in one day. After the opening I was HOOKED. I am a huge fan of the Eddie Flynn series, and this has taken the cake for my favorite book! This book follows the case of two sisters accusing each other of murdering their father. We also get the perspective of the killer throughout the book and it's so unnerving. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt like this book was more straightforward than the usual Eddie Flynn books, which I liked. The plot was weaved really well and easy to follow without being 'too simple.' I found myself trying to guess who the guilty person was the entire time. The twists didn't stop until the very end. Overall, if you like courtroom dramas and/or thrillers I would highly recommend this book! Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for this eARC!

Two sisters, one murder. Which one did it? This is number five in the Eddie Flynn series which features rogue lawyer Flynn and Cavanagh's usual courtroom sparks. I thought this was just an average read and while I read it quickly, I never became invested in the characters. Alexandra and Sofia are sisters who both made frantic 911 calls upon finding their father dead, each blaming the other for the killing. The father was worth 45 million and you would think this family would have lawyers on retainer, but instead every ambulance chaser in town arrive at the police station eager to represent on the women. Eddie Flynn decides to represent Sofia, a quiet, socially awkward girl with a penchant for self-harm. A large law firm elects to represent Alexandra who is tall, blonde and a confident, successful real estate agent. Kate is a newly out of law school associate at the firm handling Alexandra, but she becomes her sole attorney after a series of incidents including sexual harassment cause her to leave her firm taking the client along with her.

We don't find out much about the sisters but their are some short chapters where we hear from "Her" who is a serial killer zipping around town in black clothes and a black motorcycle, killing everyone who could remotely lead to her in her father's murder. I found this type of super-villain to be a bit absurd as she seemed to able to kill while riding fast in heavy traffic and some of the people killed were only a very, small threat. Eddie believes in his client's innocence so he is trying to use his assistant Harper and former judge friend to help find evidence to clear her. Along the way, Eddie also befriends Kate who is having problems with her first serious case and dealing with threats from the law firm she just left. The ending was not a surprise since the book clearly wanted us to think the other sister was the guilty one and this time even the courtroom scenes were lackluster. Thank you to Atria books and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC for review.

Thank you NetGalley for the advance reader copy of
Fifty Fifty. This story was a decent read with an interesting premise. I liked the courtroom drama and the mystery around which sister was guilty—it kept me curious. The chapters from the murderer’s perspective were the most engaging and added a nice layer of suspense to the story.

That said, the chapters felt really long, and I struggled to stay fully invested at times. The pacing dragged here and there, which made it harder to stay hooked.

Overall, it was still worth the read. The twists were solid, and if you enjoy legal thrillers, it’s a good one to check out.

If there's one thing for sure, it's that Steve Cavanagh knows damn well how to write a legal thriller. While I've had mixed feelings with the Eddie Flynn series as a whole, I still enjoyed my time with this overall and am glad I gave it a chance after feeling lukewarm about Witness 8.

I’ve been reading all of the Eddie Flynn novels out of order and I’m still absolutely entranced. Steve writes the PERFECT legal thriller. This one had me going back and forth the whole time. Can’t wait for the next!

This book grabbed you from the first page, following two sisters who accuse each other of murdering their father. There were three POVs, both defense attorneys' and the "killers" - it could get a but much at times to be in "three" heads. This was gripping and mysterious and I enjoyed! This is my first Steve Cavanagh book, and I will be reading more.

I was really interested in the chapters from the sisters' POV's, but when reading the other POV's I was just waiting to get back to the sisters. this one just didn't grip me and I don't think the Eddie Flynn series is for me!

Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh is a twisty, fast-paced legal thriller that’s part of the Eddie Flynn series, though readers new to Cavanagh can easily enjoy it as a standalone. The story revolves around two sisters, Sofia and Alexandra Avellino, both accused of brutally murdering their father, a former mayor of New York City. The sisters are tried together, each blaming the other for the crime, and the reader is left guessing which of them is actually guilty until the very end. The novel has clever plotting, relentless pacing, and tension. The narrative is structured to keep you on the edge of your seat, with chapters alternating between the perspectives of the two defense lawyers and the mysterious "She"—the killer herself.

There was too much repetition in the name of trying to convince the reader that both sisters were shady. Both have black leggings, both out and about without an alibi, both having messy bathrooms, etc. Though for being a high profile murder case, I'm unsure how one sister completely operated and committed several more murders without arousing suspicion or being tailed by police.

Wow. Right from the damn jump this book pulls you in and it does not let go.! The storyline and plot was absolutely freaking brilliant. Talk about an adrenaline rush in book form. I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read more from this author. I cannot say enough about this. Author’s writing time was flying and I didn’t even realize how much of the book I was reading because I was reading so fast. Everything was just so well executed.

Attempted both the ebook and audio version of this book a few times and just could not get into the story. It did not hold my attention or pull me in from the start. This may be one I go back to in the future but for now it is going on my DNF shelf.

Eddie Flynn returns to represent one half of a sister duo who have both accused one another of murdering their father. Cavanagh does a great job of keeping you on both Eddie's side and against throughout the novel, making you root for and against both sisters until the very end. Such a novel concept and a fun read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely Brilliant – A Legal Thriller at Its Best

Fifty Fifty completely blew me away! Steve Cavanagh has mastered the art of the courtroom thriller, and this book had me hooked from start to finish. The premise alone—two sisters, one accused of murder, both claiming the other did it—is pure genius. I was second-guessing myself the entire time.

The pacing was perfect, with just the right mix of legal drama, twists, and emotional tension. The courtroom scenes were sharp and intense, and the characters—especially Eddie Flynn—were incredibly well-drawn. I loved how smart and layered the plot was; every time I thought I had it figured out, something new threw me off completely.

This is one of those thrillers that keeps your heart racing and your brain working overtime. Easily one of the best in the series, and a must-read for anyone who loves clever, high-stakes legal suspense.

*Thank you to Atria and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review and to Simon Audio for the gifted ALC*

Ooohoohoo, this book! I was spoiled a little bit because I read Witness 8 first, but it's not my fault they're being republished out of order. Regardless, Steve Cavanagh hit it out of the park. From the start with the 2 conflicting 911 calls to the trial, I was never quite certain which way it was going to fall. Alternating between the defense and the killer's perspectives, we uncover clues, corruption, and context that subtly move the plot to its climax. It was spectacular on audio, even causing me to pause and text friends about my theories. Really just a killer thriller, but you gotta read the first 4 books for every reference to truly hit.
