Thank you to Atria Books & NetGalley for this ARC!
This is the first book l've read by Steve Cavanagh and it won't be my last. I throughly enjoyed everything about this book and it kept me guessing until the last few chapters. I didn't think I would be a fan of the multiple POVs but it worked out and I ended up liking them! The book felt like I was reading an episode of Law & Order which I liked.

WOW Steve Cavanagh does it again! I've read a lot of crime/thrillers and this one had a storyline that I hadn't seen before - two sisters call 911 accusing each other of the same crime. What a whirlwind!

Cavanagh wrote such strong, well-developed characters, but I think the alternating POV styles was what impressed me the most. We rotate back and forth mostly between Eddie (first person) and Kate (third person) as they work on the case, but my favorite perspective was "She," which was clearly one of the criminal sisters but we didn't know exactly which one. Cavanagh masterfully added details that would make you think "She" was one sister over the other but then threw in just enough commonalities that made you second guess your ideas every time we had a new chapter from her.

Some parts were a little graphic and difficult to read, but it truly added to the evil of the storyline rather than used for shock value. I will say this one truly had me guessing until the very end - and then I had to double check I read things correctly, it was that wild! Thanks so much for the ARC - this is easily one of my favorite 2025 reads!

thank you netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book!

Fifty Fifty was a thriller I couldn’t put down; from the very first minute, I was immersed in its dark essence.
It’s a book that plays with your mind like no other, right up until the end!

The plot is solid, the pacing is very fast, and the author has a way of writing that makes you question everyone, even your own sanity.

I devoured this story and I want to recommend it because you truly won’t regret it!!!

Thank you for the ARC. This is my third Cavanaugh book and it’s another banger. Felt like I was reading an episode of law and order. Cavanaugh has a way of keeping your interest and throwing in lots of twists and turns and thrill. This book kept me going back and forth who really killed their father, Sofia or Alexandra. What a great read.

I didn’t realize this book was in the middle of a series. Knowing that now, I am going to add this to my list. Two sisters at the crime scene of their father’s gruesome murder, who done it? I went back and forth several times knowing I was being led a certain way and I still wasn’t right. And isn’t that what we all look for in a mystery? This was a story I could really sink my teeth into. I think the team of Eddie, Harry, Kate and Bloch have many adventures to come and I am looking forward to it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This was such a great book! I love every book by this author and this one did not disappoint! Both sisters call 911 and tell them that the other sister killed their father. This book had me guessing until the very end because every time I thought I knew who did it something else came up to keep you second guessing! Will definitely recommend

4,25 stars!

This is my third read in Steve Cavanagh's Eddie Flynn, and every time I really enjoy myself! I think in general, a legal thriller can be hit or miss for me, but I think where Steve Cavanagh shines is his writing style and compelling characters. I did think the actual mystery/thriller plot was a bit predictable, but I enjoyed the tension building especially as Eddie started to realize what was going on. I will definitely read more installments in the Eddie Flynn universe, and even though this is fifth in the series I didn't feel like I was confused!

Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

If Steve Cavanagh writes it, I’m gonna read it! This was such a great legal thriller! I didn’t know this was part of a series, but I didn’t have any trouble following without having read the other books in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Steve Cavanagh and Atria publishing for the ARC and opportunity to review this book. Loved it from start to finish. This book had me feeling confident I knew who the killer was to totally unsure a few pages later. There were so many twists and shocking sections to the book. I love the Eddie Flynn series and this one was no exception.

I really enjoyed this cat-and-mouse thriller! I love the character Eddie Flynn and very much enjoyed this suspenseful legal thriller. Steve Cavanagh has quickly become one of my newer favorite authors and this did not disappoint! I will say as a word of caution, this book was quite a bit more violent than some of his other books, just in case that might be an issue for some readers.

When sisters, Alexandra and Sofia, are both on trial for the murder of their father, Eddie Flynn makes the decision to represent Sofia, while Alexandra is represented by Kate Brooks. They were both in the house at the time of the murder and they are both accusing the other.

As the trial nears, more and more people involved in the case are being murdered. Eddie and Kate must work together to conclude which girl is guilty and which is innocent.

This book is a nail-biter. The Eddie Flynn series gets better and better with each installment. I truly hope there are more on the horizon. Thank you, NetGalley and Atria Books for the eARC of this 5-star book.

I love Cavanagh's books and this one was fabulous! It begins with protagonist Eddie Flynn waiting for the jury in a murder case where one of two sisters has killed their father. Is it Alex, the "golden girl" or Sofiia, the "black sheep"? One of them called 911 but why if she is the murderer? Once again Cavanagh has written a wonderfully-convoluted story of secrets, lies, and a plot that's so twisted you never know until the bitter end who the villain is and who is responsible! Loved it!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

I've come to the conclusion that I'm obsessed with the Eddie Flynn novels. This whole story is compelling, and it leads you in a certain direction, but as a reader you're expecting the complete opposite and Steve Cavanaugh does an expert job of playing on that and flipping the script. This was heartbreaking and scary and I did not want to put this down. I am definitely going to read more of his work because I have not been disappointed yet.

Wow! Five stars! This is one of my favorite Steve Cavanagh books. It was a fast paced, twisty thrill ride right from the start. Cavanagh definitely develops Eddie Flynn in such a way that you can feel like you are him and inside his head. You feel all his emotions on this book. Readers don’t have to really read the earlier books to understand his back story as Cavanagh does a great job filling in those pieces through the book. This was my favorite along with Thieteen and I can not wait to read more!!

DNF at 25% — concept is great, execution is bad. I could not get over the lawyer (Eddie). The style of writing for him: “Not now. Not ever.” was very cringe and obnoxiously “good guy” vibes. The other lawyer harassed women and patronized them, and Eddie swoops in to feel like the good guy. It took away from the actual concept of the book and was obnoxious. Do not care how it ends, sorry!

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing this book, with my honest review below.

I hadn’t realized I’d read another book in this series, Witness 8, until after I picked this one up because while Eddie Flynn is a distinct character the plot was of Fifty Fifty was so unique from that one (and setup well as a standalone in both cases) that I was fully embroiled in this twisty thriller without realizing the overlap.

Sure to suck you in, Fifty Fifty is a look at a brutal murder of an ex Mayor, Frank Avellino, at the hands of one his daughters- both have called in the murder accusing one another. While the book introduces a few characters who speak from their perspectives, the most intriguing is that of ‘She’, the true murderer who is still murdering those who could pin her for the crime while setting up evidence to get her sister jailed. Is the right sister convicted? Is Eddie on the right side? You’ll thoroughly enjoy finding out in this well written book.

5⭐️- this was a great legal thriller with wicked little twists! I’ve had this one on my tbr list and love this series. It comes out in the US in June and I was lucky enough to receive the ARC. I enjoyed and buckle up for the ride. Cavanagh lines up a great cast of characters with my favorite, Eddie. Which sister is the killer and which one to trust? It’s cleverly Fifty-Fifty and you will have to read to find out! Looking forward to reading the next one in this series!

Highly recommend for legal thriller fans when this one comes out and grab your popcorn!

Expected release: 6/3/25

✨Special thanks to NetGalley & Atria Books for this complimentary digital advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.
