One of the best experiences you can have as a reader, is when you pick up a book expecting it to be “pretty good” and it turns out to be one of the best books you’ve ever read. That’s what this book was able to deliver for me and I’m still absolutely squealing!! A must read for any suspense fan!

All Because of You by Lissa Lovik ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Holy moly! What a fantastic debut!

I love an unhinged character and Chris checked all the unhinged boxes. Told entirely from his delusional perspective, this book felt like Joe Goldberg (“You”) but more serious and realistic. It was dark, twisted, and cringeworthy (in the best way).

The plot moved along at a moderate pace; however, I did finish it in a day. By focusing on the intricacies of every day life and nuances in relationships, it achieved a more personal approach to the tropes it brought to the table (so check trigger warnings!)

Fans of Kepnes’ You, unhinged characters, and chilling stories will love this one!

This was a solid debut by Lissa Lovik. If you loved You by Caroline Kapnes, this has a very similar vibe without the dark humor.

Chris meets Serena at the grocery store and is immediately drawn to her. He does everything to get to know her and soon they start dating.

There is a lot of internal dialogue that we have from Chris' POV. I liked that the author used devices to get the other character's POV.

The story is twisty and really shows how obsessed someone can justify all of their crazy actions.

Thank you to the publisher for a copy of the book.

I really wanted to like this book—the premise sounded compelling and full of promise—but unfortunately, it didn’t land for me. From the very first page, I found the inner thoughts of Chris to be overwhelmingly raunchy, which made it hard for me to stay engaged. While I understand this was likely intentional to highlight his character and mindset, it just felt excessive and off-putting.

The writing style also didn’t click with me, and as the story progressed, I struggled to stay invested. The dynamic between Chris and Serena reminded me a lot of You by Caroline Kepnes, and while that might appeal to some readers, it made this story feel less original in my view.

I can see how this book might work for others who enjoy dark, obsessive narratives, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book messed with my head in the best possible way. Lissa Lovik delivers an absolutely chilling debut that pulls you inside the mind of a man you do not want watching you but can’t stop reading about.

From the first page, you know Chris is wrong. But he’s the kind of wrong that’s calm. Patient. Strategic. And that makes him terrifying. The grocery store “meet-cute” is anything but cute once you realize how quickly and deeply he becomes obsessed with Serena. And the worst part? He thinks it’s love.

This is not a typical stalker thriller. It’s smart. Creepy. Uncomfortably intimate. You feel like you’re trapped inside Chris’s head as he justifies every boundary he crosses. And somehow, that makes the story even more addictive.

I couldn’t look away. Every chapter got darker, more twisted, more intense. Serena is strong and smart, but you can feel the way her world is being chipped away piece by piece and by the time you get to the ending, your heart is in your throat.

If you like psychological thrillers that crawl under your skin and stay there, All Because of You needs to be on your list.

Lissa Lovik is one to watch.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.75 Stars

All Because of You was creepy and alarming in all the right ways, but it did drag on a little longer than I felt it needed to. I couldn’t help but feel so sorry for that poor woman at the center of it all—her story really stuck with me, even when the pacing lost a bit of steam.

It’s definitely unsettling and worth a read if you like psychological stories that leave you uneasy, but for me, it could’ve been just a bit tighter.

This book reminded me so much of the book/show You with Joe Goldberg. I do feel it was more of a serious version and it was a good book with plenty going on.

Thank you @amazonpublishing #partner @netgalley for the gifted copy of this eARC!

When @carriereadsthem_all tells you to grab a book, you RUN — and I’m happy to report All Because of You by Lissa Lovik was every bit the wild ride I was promised 👏

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read anything this stressful (aka my favorite reading mood, if you’ve been around here long enough). Picture this: two strangers “bump into each other” at a grocery store. Chris is instantly smitten. Serena? Poor girl has no idea she’s just crossed paths with a stage 10 clinger.

Y’all… Chris is unhinged. Love at first sight? More like obsession at first glance. He’s operating on level 900 intensity while everyone else is out here just trying to mind their business. In real life? Terrifying. In my fictional world? DELICIOUSLY BINGEABLE.

This book was disturbing, chilling, over-the-top crazy and I loved every messed-up minute of it. And the fact that this is a debut?! I’m SHOCKED. Lissa Lovik is officially on my must-watch list because if this is how she kicks things off… I’ll be first in line for whatever’s next 🔥📚

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for allowing me to have an arc copy of Lissa Lovak’s new book.

Where to begin…..I DNF this book 12% in during chapter 5. It wasn’t gripping me, wasn’t holding my attention. I was also put off by the fact that the main character was getting himself off in the bushes. That’s not the worst thing I’ve ever read, but it was enough for me to consider not finishing the book.

From what I read, and can gather, he’s going to stalk Serena until it all comes to an inevitable head and she’s realizes what he’s been doing.

If this comes on audiobook, I may give it another go, but I just found it boring.

This book had me grossed out in all the best ways. I picked it up for the Joe Goldberg vibes, and the author definitely pulled through. You’re completely lodged inside Chris’s mind (uncomfortably so, in the best way), and I loved how the author found such creative ways to keep us in there and we could feel how claustrophobic his mind is and spiralling right next to him.

I stayed up late two nights in a row because I could not stop thinking about it. Even when I wasn’t reading, the book was crawling around in the back of my brain.

Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer and the author Lisa Lovik for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to brilliance audio for the gifted ALC. This book was getting such high praise, I had to see what it was all about! This book was intriguing and immediately gave creep vibes. It was a quick and easy listen, I had to know what happened. My main complaint with this book is that it is so incredibly similar to You, a previously published book and popular Netflix series. Most of the book, I kept thinking I was in the mind of the main character from that show. It was just way too similar and not original enough for me. The book was done well and I enjoyed it, just wanted something different.

Not putting what the synopsis is as I think you should go inside this book with a blind eye. All I will say is, have you ever fallen head over heels in love with someone at first sight? Well, that's what happens to Chris when he bumps into Serena at the grocery store, in the peanut butter aisle, of all places.

I cannot BELIEVE this was a debut novel because... Lissa sure can write a solid pulse pounding psychological suspenseful thriller. I wanted to feel for Chris but he sure did a lot of crazy... well shit! It was interesting reading from the stalker's POV and it made me want to run away and hide. The character development was vivid and raw and real. The tension had me gasping out loud and chomping at my nails.

Bravo! Lissa, you are amazing and I can't freaking wait to see what you come up with next.

This is not a love story, it’s a cautionary tale.

There were several times listening/reading that I thought I would need to DNF because I was so frustrated by MMC Chris. But I think that’s the point.

All Because of You might be the most terrifying thriller I have ever read because it’s so plausible and relatable. It’s a cautionary tale every woman should read so they know the signs to look for in a gaslighting, emotionally manipulative partner. Author Lissa Lovik has truly tapped into the mind of a deranged, toxic male. Chris has zero redeemable qualities and I wanted to throat-punch him no less than 72 times. And since the entire book is from Chris’ POV you’ll feel like this a lot. And, in case it needs to be said, NOTHING CHRIS DOES IS OKAY.

Thank you to NetGalley, Brilliance Publishing and Lissa Lovik for an early listening copy. These are my honest thoughts.

PSA: If you read this and have a partner with any of these personality traits, who makes you feel crazy even though your gut is telling you something is off, don’t ignore it. Talk about it with someone you trust.

Serena is a single Mom realtor when Chris meets her at the grocery store and falls instantly for her and so deeply that he buys a house from her just to get to know her. He appears to be the best boyfriend she’s ever had until he becomes extremely controlling and obsessive and she has to get a restraining order and finds hidden cameras in her home. Creepy page turner thriller!

Thank you to Thomas and Mercer and NetGalley for the ARC!

Thank you Thomas & Mercer for the gifted digital ARC.

I unfortunately decided to DNF this one about halfway through. I kept waiting for it to significantly veer away from "You" but the story was just too similar and I wasn't invested enough to continue.

I will not review on any other retail sites as I did not finish the book.

from the villain's POV, which is my FAVORITE !

It's a gripping / chilling stalker thriller about Chris who spots Serena in a grocery store and instantly falls in love and will do anything to make her his. From there, we quickly discover how obsessive and how far he will go to keep the woman of his dreams.

I loved the writing style and how being in Chris's mind felt claustrophobic and unsettling.
The author did an amazing job portraying his slow descent into madness.
Also Serena was a strong FMC and who knew her own mind and stood up for herself.

I enjoyed this book. It had similar vibes to the book YOU except Joe was likeable and Chris is definitely not. For a debut novel I think Lissa Lovik did a fantastic job.

Thanks to netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for my copy. My opinions are my own.

What starts as a charming meet-cute quickly turns into something much darker. Chris is the kind of character who makes your skin crawl in the best way, and watching things unravel was equal parts tense and fascinating.

Lissa Lovik does a great job blurring the line between romance and obsession, and the slow build kept me turning pages late into the night. If you like your thrillers with a psychological edge and a touch of “wait, did he really just do that?”—this one’s for you.

Serena deserves peace. Chris deserves therapy. And I? I absolutely devoured this unsettling, unputdownable creepfest. A rom-com turned red flag parade—and I loved every deranged minute.

Thank you Lissa Lovik, Thomas and Mercer, Brilliance Audio, and Netgalley for the advanced copy!

This is a debut by this author and as much as I wanted to love this book, I had a hard time connecting to the characters. It may be just me, I tried, I really did. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review. I'll give it 3 stars since I did read it, I just couldn't connect to it.

So once again-booksta didn’t steer me wrong AND this is a banger of a debut. Obsession is a favorite trope (as you know) and this one was off the rails. I am going to be vague on purpose because spoilers would really spoil this one lol

Told in multiple POVs and short chapters; the character development is great, the twists and suspense top notch. Sadly, I feel like most women have had an uncomfortable situation/ attention that they did not reciprocate (maybe not this bad but…) but it’s all too familiar and uneasy.

Just know that once you start this one, you will not move. I devoured it in a few hours because I was rapt! I cannot wait to see what Lovik has for us next. Don’t forget to read the author’s note because it really hammers this home. Thank you @netgalley for my copy!

All Because of You by Lissa Lovik is a gripping stalker thriller filled with heart-pounding and fist-clenching moments that might make you want to toss your Kindle into the corner of your room.

This tale is both chilling and unsettling, highlighting just how easy it is to become a victim of a manipulative person! And it shows how little you can do to protect yourself! It's quite alarming!

I absolutely adored this book, particularly because of the main female character - finally, a story featuring a strong woman who knows her value, makes her own choices, and stands firm! She's simply delightful!

When Chris Fox spots Serena Archer in a grocery store, he instantly falls head over heels and is willing to do anything to make her his own. His obsession with her intensifies with each passing day! After meticulously stalking her, Chris approaches her as a client and ensnares her in his manipulative web, leading her to fall for him, but things don't unfold as expected...

As a debut novel, Lissa Lovik makes a powerful entrance with a strong BANG. I sensed some vibes reminiscent of "YOU," so if you enjoyed that book or TV show, you're sure to love this one too!

Thank you, NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for this copy!
